Very nice people. The full order is just enough for 2. we had 3 so we got extra injera. We were going to a movie nearby so we just wanted to get something to try it. Very good lentils and cabbage.

The staff were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I honestly wish I could eat here every single day. Highly recommend to anyone who loves amazing food and great service!

My brother and I recently had a delicious veggie combo lunch at Cafe Dareye. The injera was light and delicious, not at all sour. The portions were generous, and the taste was fantastic with just the right amount of spice to give it some kick. We'll be back!

dareye has a wonderful 1-item menu. incredibly good veggie combo that serves excellent value and a range of flavors. space is simple and sweet- part grocery, part restaurant. we were served by the chef? it was in good time. all in all, simple and efficient. will be returning. great for vegetarians and vegans and all the rest.

First time trying this restaurant, my friend and I both got the beef tibs oalte, which comes with two hefty pieces of injera, salad, and lentils. The food is delicious and will leave you scraping the plate. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for quality Ethiopian food.

This place is a little hidden gem! There are several Ethiopian restaurants in Oakland, many are very well known. Cafe Dareye gives them all a run for their money. A friend I and had just finished smashing things at Smash Kingdom a few sores down the block and were starving. We walked by Cafe Dareye and that wonderful smell of Ethiopian spices drew us in. It’s a very small space. We shared a 1/2 veggie combo platter and a Beef Tibs platter with Ethiopian spiced tea. It all hit the spot. It was very delicious and did not disappoint! There was only one person working and she balanced cooking taking, orders, serving our food, along with cooking for several take out customers with no delay and prompt friendly service. I would definitely go back there to eat and even order take out from there.
