Dias después de cenar en El Armadillo Mazunte, me topé con la troca en Zipolite! ambiento súper chill, wraps de falafel y kefta con vegetales rostizados, hummus y cebolla caramelizada…DELi!! Luis es un ángel! Gracias Armadillo!!!!

Tried both the falafel and the Kefta wraps, absolutely delicious. Super creamy & flavorful hummus and however they’re preparing the black bean/ quinoa it’s picks up this incredible smoky/ barbecue quality that simply slaps. Delicious and nutritious!

El falafel wrap ¡está delicioso! El mejor falafel de zipolite, probé otros y este ha sido el mejor 🙂. Además, es muy conveniente porque te lo puedes comer ahí que está súper Agusto el lugar o llevártelo a donde quieras, personas piden un wrap y se lo llevan a la playa para ver el atardecer. Los ingredientes se sienten muy frescos y además excelente atención. Si quieres este tipo de comida en Zipolite este es el lugar perfecto y si quieres algo así en Mazunte, en un restaurante súper acogedor ve a El Armadillo en Mazunte y pide el Seitan a la naranja ¡el mejor platillo que he probado! Es un MUST ir, ademas tienen unas galletas de Almendra deliciosas. En ambos lugares se nota que cuidan la calidad de los alimentos.

Love the falafel wrap. You cant beat it for price/quality in Zipolite. Also highly recommend the full restaurant these guys have in Mazunte. Worth the trip to tase this food! Its one of my faves in all the Oaxaca coast!

This guy had a great idea and made it happen! He only makes plant based falafel wraps and they taste great! This is perfect vegan food. You can take them to go or eat them there. Open 1 to 9 daily, it's worth the wait to have lunch. We will be back. His converted Volkswagen van caught my eye and I just had to try it. Yum!!

This was my first meal in Zipolite and it was incredible. I was looking for something fresh, healthy, and vegan after a long day traveling. The falafel wrap was huge and filling and the hibiscus water was refreshing. If I would have stayed in the town longer I know I would have gone back again!

Cute little retro food truck on a grassy lawn just off the Adoquín, it is adorable to enter. Greeted with a friendly smile I got the falafel wrap. The crispy, flaky wrap had a good portion of soft falafel with a crispy crust, grilled vegetables and delicious hummus. washed it down with hibiscus juice on the beach a block away. Great little addition to Zipolite.

Bear And Back Again

Very disappointed. Makes me wonder if the 5 star reviews are all friends of the owner or something. The falafel wasn’t great and it is ridiculously overpriced. Great retro setup but I can’t say I would ever come back. no prices on the menu - even on their website. So expect to pay more if you’re white or a tourist. **Update** The store now has a sign with a price outside and it is WAY less than I was charged by the woman when it first opened. I was charged $350 for 2 plain falafels. She did not put anything on them except the falafel itself and I was really disappointed HOWEVER When I noticed the sign, I also noticed it was a man working there and not the woman who had ripped me off. So I got 2 falafels and they were $100 each (as advertised) and really delicious. I was super impressed. I am not increasing my rating because I think its disgusting that the previous woman took advantage of me and ripped me off. After eating there again, I now understand it was the employee and not the business itself. Also, I didnt appreciate the comment about the cost of a falafel in Australia. 1 - because I was charged the equivalent of $35 AUD for my 2 falafels not the $8 suggested. And the cost of groceries in Australia is 60% higher than in Mexico so there is no justification in saying it should be the same price. But I do certainly now recommend this place to people because they have sorted out the issues I had.
