Increíble lugar, lo descubrí por medio de un tiktok y fue nuestra primera parada en cuanto llegamos a Oaxaca, la atención muy cálida y rápida, además nos dieron un pan de cortesía. Desayunamos muy rico, la tlayudas 100/10 al igual que la torta al pastor, el waffle me encantó.Todo basado en plantas y saludable.

✨ Citronella es un lugar delicioso para disfrutar de la comida mexicana en versión vegana. Yo no soy vegana y antes era muy escéptica, pero la verdad está delicioso 🤩. Todo súper limpio, el personal súper amable y los precios muy accesibles. 100% recomendable.

Excelente lugar, con deliciosa comida 100% apv. La atención es súper amable y cordial. Es un lugar muy cómodo con comida hecha al momento. Todo está buenísimo, desde el café, los smoothies, las tortas y el helado. Súper recomendable. Se convirtió en mi lugar de desayuno o almuerzo mientras estuve en Oaxaca. Además tiene excelente ubicación!

Espacio hermoso y tranquilo con comida realmente deliciosa y variada! Probé varios platos diferentes y todos me impresionaron. Me alegró mucho ver que el menú es 100% vegano 😄 El servicio fue muy bueno también. Seguramente regresaré 😊

EL MEJOR TACO VEGANO!!! Desde hace unos años he probado la mayoría de lugares veganos en diferentes ciudades de México y hoy comí algo para recordar de por vida. Hechos con productos locales y marinados por dias para estar listos, encuentras unos tacos de soya, una tlayudita con queso y un pozole que todo el mundo debería probar. Gracias a Citronella por el esfuerzo para preparar alimentos deliciosos sin dañar a ningún animal.

Tenía un poco de vergüenza de entrar, y con razón, porque me rechazaron ya que estaban llenos unas dos horas antes del cierre. No me hicieron preguntas sobre lo que quería pedir; tal vez solo quería un café, tal vez algo para llevar. Incluso noté que se puede pedir en línea para entrega. No estoy enojado, solo un poco decepcionado, porque comer es difícil como vegano en un país extranjero. Lo entiendo, estoy en un país extranjero y no debería quejarme demasiado, pero también soy vegano dedicado desde hace más de 20 años y solo como en establecimientos 99% veganos. La noche anterior había visitado la misma ubicación, pero en ese horario había un negocio diferente que no es completamente vegano, y pedí una tlayuda vegana de ellos, que estaba muy buena. Así que tal vez vuelva y consiga una de esas en el otro lugar que se instala aquí. Me cuesta quejarme porque soy turista, pero al mismo tiempo, si yo dirigiera un restaurante vegano, nunca rechazaría a una sola persona sin importar qué. Aunque no pude comer aquí y me sentí un poco decepcionado por que me rechazaran, todavía les daré una reseña de cinco estrellas por los animales. I was a little shy about coming in, and rightly so, because I was turned away since they were full about two hours before closing. I wasn’t really asked what I wanted to order; maybe I only wanted a coffee, maybe something to go. I even noticed that you can order online for delivery. I’m not mad, just a little bummed, because eating as a vegan in a foreign country can be difficult. I get it — I’m in a foreign country and shouldn’t complain too much — but I’ve also been a dedicated vegan for over 20 years and only eat at 99% vegan establishments. The night before, I had visited the same location, but at that time a different business was running there. They aren’t completely vegan, but I ordered a vegan tlayuda from them, which was really good. So maybe I’ll just come back and get one of those from the other vendor that sets up here. It’s hard for me to complain because I’m a tourist, but at the same time, if I ran a vegan restaurant, I would never turn a single person away no matter what. Even though I didn’t get to eat here and was a little bummed about being turned away, I’ll still give them a five-star review for the animals.

Excelente lugar, una joya! He comido muchos tacos veganos, pero estos están increíbles. No había probado soya igual, deliciosos! Todos los platillos que probamos, todos comida oaxaqueña, buenísimos. Se nota la calidad y la dedicación. Gracias por tan buena comida!!!

El servicio fue excelente! Uno de los empleados nos explicó los platos de una forma detallada y concisa. El personal fue muy atento y amable en todo momento. La comida estuvo deliciosa. Todo está hecho artesanalmente, incluso la leche de avena. Incluso si no eres vegano, deberías probar Citronella. No te dejará indiferente!

This was my favorite restaurant in Oaxaca! So much that I ate there 3 days in a row! Professionally prepared food, fresh taste & healthy. Chill environment & the friendliness staff! Highly recommend!!(great vegan options)

Excellent food and very nice staff. The friendly owner explained us how the dishes are prepared and where the ingredients come from, for example from local villages. The soy and vegan cheese alternatives are one of the best we have ever tasted. In our non-native opinion a great opportunity to taste original meals in vegan. At first the location looks a bit simple and empty but it’s a good place to spend relaxed time.

I'm not even vegetarian, but the tortas and tacos here are an incredible. They make all the fake meat in-house and it is genuinely better than meat! Also the staff are super friendly and welcoming 😄

One of the best meals I've had in Mexico. I eat meat but I didn't miss it here it all. We had pozole (a pre-hispanic soup) and memelitas to share. Super wholesome, comforting and nutritious. Just over 400MXN including drinks and tip. Lovely staff.

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. The food here is top notch. The Pozole is some of the best I have had. Great juices and well made tacos. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic about the food. It is well worth a stop for lunch.

Amazing place in Oaxaca, where you will be able to taste the best of Oaxacan cousine - but we zero animal cruelty! Yummy, healthy and abundant, you will not regret coming here. The service is kind, present and joyful. The location is top, super central. but enough hidden from the turists hot spots! you can hang out in their lovely garten for reading or for work, admiring the beautiful painting on the wall

Look; there’s a lot of good vegan food in Oaxaca, but this place is outstanding. The ingredients are super fresh, and their takes on tlayudas, pozole & meat substitutes were easily the best I had in the region, and probably the country. The owner came out to offer us some delicious tostados on the house, and the service was attentive without being pushy. I wish I would have bought 10 things to go, because I feel like I’ll be chasing the Citronella dragon for some time. They also offered us Jamaica popsicles on the house as a delicious and refreshing treat. I truly can’t recommend them enough. Come support this awesome team, as they plan to travel throughout the region and eventually the country, rescuing dishes that are nearly lost, and veganizing them for all of us to enjoy.

Can’t explain how incredible this place is - I went here 3 times on my trip and would’ve gone more if I had the time. Food is amazing and staff are so so friendly. On one occasion I let them know I was in a rush and they made my food as quickly as possible and even invited my friend to try one of the tacos for free. 10/10 ❤️

Excellent little vegan place. The pozole was fabulous and we also enjoyed their tlayuda and tacos. Great service and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit, just be sure to arrive before 2pm as they close after lunch.

Delicious vegan food! I loved the tacos al pastor (it has the smokiness down packed). Carlos, the owner was super friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. You could see he was super passionate about the food he puts out. Will definitely be back!

Amazing vegan food in the heart of Oaxaca. The food, service, and environment are amazing. The torta bread was perfectly toasted on the outside with a chewy interior like a banh mi. The pozole was also incredibly hearty and delicious. The food tasted fresh and well-balanced. Unfortunately, they close at 2PM so make sure to come early in the day.

Hidden gem in Oax. Offering an all Vegan menu, Citronella delivers rich flavor, decadent drinks, and a variety of sweet and savory meal options. I ordered four drinks, and three entrees, all of them were delicious, and you can’t even tell it’s vegan!! The owner Carlos upholds the idea that we should minimize waste and support organic, local, ethical growers. Cute indoor decor with propagation, and a very nice, open air, balcony, the ambiance is cutesy and pleasantly cool. I recommend the red smoothie and waffle!

I got the vegan pozole. It was fine, but pretty plain. The lettuce it came with wasn’t very appetizing.

Visité el sitio hoy y la persona que atiende ni siquiera me atendió, nos tocó acercarnos a pedir en la barra. Luego al hacer el pago me cobraron más de los precios que tienen expuestos que "porque no era local". La comida estaba normal, nada del otro mundo. Las tortas que si recomiendo son las de ese mismo sitio en la noche (creo que se llama Tlayudas las ánimas) son deliciosas y el precio publicado es el que cobran. No volveré a Citronela y a mis amigos que vengan a Oaxaca no lo recomendaré positivamente.
