Banana Dang Coffee

I don't know how we stumbled upon Banana Dang but it quickly became our favorite coffee shop in Oside. The owners are super-friendly, funny people who serve up a mean mocha, and more. Their smoothies are delicious and even come dirty (with a shot of espresso). Their toast looks yummy but I am gluten-free so I stick with their selection of gluten-free items. They also offer a few vegan items (they work with local bakers). The paintings adorning their walls are painted by local artists and for sale. The vibe is always upbeat and fun with a selection of music that is never the same. You can take your coffee to-go in a recycled, recyclable cup (very earth-friendly here), or enjoy it in the shop, in a cool Banana Dang cup, and challenge a friend to a game of Chess, Tic Tac Toe, or Connect 4. Big fan of their t-shirts and stickers, also.

Nice Vegan food/drinks, clean unisex restrooms, strong wifi, and nice staff. We popped in here after being absolutely wrecked. We are not vegan, but my husband is lactose intolerant. All of these smoothies were automatically made with almond milk. We Got a banana mocha frappe, and a berry dang. The mocha frappe was easily one of the best coffee frozen drinks I have ever had. My berry drink was perfectly fine. The bathroom was clean and It looked to be very handicapped friendly with a guardrail and low seat. No changing table for kids but it's not really kids place. Lots of seating and local art. They also had a very good fancy toast menu with jam and lots of avocado. This would absolutely be a place I would feel comfortable blindly bringing a vegan friend to and expecting great food.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: I've had this on my list to try for a few months. We live in LA, so when we came South, I had to make a pitstop! Was very happy with the Dirty Banana Mylk! I wish there was a closer location to LA or Long Beach. AMBIANCE: Noise level is average. It was a bit dark and felt stuffy inside. A few tables and counter seating near the window. ORDERED: [5/5] Dirty Banana Mylk: blended to perfection and not too sweet! [4/5] Banana Latte: banana flavor was very light in this, but still good. They have small bites, but we didn't try any of it. SERVICE: Service was good. On our visit, there was a parade, so staff appeared a bit distracted, but service was still quick. If you’re looking for a unique space to grab a smoothie, latte, a quick bite and do some remote work, Banana Dang Coffee is a small family-owned café in downtown Oceanside that is a local favorite; especially with the younger crowd. Located just along the Coast Hwy, this spot is famous for their awesome selection of “Happy Toast” menu options and their smoothies (all made with bananas & almond milk). The interior is very simplistic and has a few counter-seats, table seats and lounge chairs in the rear. They showcase a small diverse collection of painted artwork (for sale) and the ambiance is pretty modern-hipster (alt pop & rock music playing). They have a clean bathroom and also free WiFi for customers and although the seating isn’t super-cozy, but it works for a quick sit to relax. One con is that they have a limited amount of power outlet access points. The customers service is average, but not dissatisfactory (younger staff who are always chatting amongst themselves). They are friendly, but not super-attentive; just average. Where this place shines is their TOAST BAR MENU that is super tasty! It’s simple, but there’s something for everyone to love! I recommend the Crunchy Honey, Nutty Banana and Choco Toast. Their smoothie menu is super as well! Boasting great options such as : Nutty Dang, Green Tea Dang and the Vanilla Dang. Overall, this gem is a place that you’ll want to visit just for their unique specialty menu and for a less-crowded option to doing remote work.

Excellent drinks! Smoothies (Nutty Dang) was an absolute treat and wife got the banana latte, we both loved our drinks. The toast are also on point—cinnamon (so tasty and sweet but not overdone) and green fire (thick layer of guacamole, they don’t hold back-with the perfect amount of kick!). Top it off with some great service and down to earth service and kindness! Add this to your list of places for must try and regularly visit!

Fun places with fun drinks. Everyone in my family ordered something unique and everything was good. I ordered the banana latte with oat milk. I requested half sweetness, which was a good choice, as the latte wasn't too sweet and still had a solid banana flavor. Kinda reminds me of laffy taffy lol. It was fun to try, but I wouldn't say banana would be my go to flavor addition. Good vibes and a wide variety on the menu. I'd recommend checking it out

traveled from phoenix, az and wanted to find a cute coffee shop nearby and stumbled across banana dang! I got the thai tea and it was one of the best thai teas I’ve ever had! I already want to go back just for banana dang and try everything on the menu.

The staff was very kind! The value was definitely worth it, most places will overcharge you for a small piece of avocado toast but their toast was huge! Bigger than my hand, and the bread tasted like it was baked in-house. The latte was a latte, simple and delicious :) cute place, I like it a lot. They even make these awesome bracelets out of açaí seeds collected from their blenders! Which make great gifts for friends if you’re visiting from out of town.

We were looking for coffee during a long drive back home. I found this spot & figured it was a cool place to try out. That was an understatement. We loved this place. Customer service was great. They took their time to tell us about themselves & explain their menu. We got a Dirty Banana Mylk & a Banana Latte. It was so Dang good even tho it wasn't as sweet as I normally like my coffee-based drinks. The branding is catchy. We bought a good amount of their merch to take home. I recommend the Joco Cups. The shop was clean & overall a good stop for a pick me up. It's a neat concept as well. I appreciate that it is not a diary-based coffee shop. They even have a vegan menu to make ordering easier. This is going to be a regular pit stop from now on.

My absolute favorite place in Oceanside. Owners and employees are always so welcoming and kind. I go multiple times a week to get work done and have always felt so welcomed. They have my favorite chai latte, which is phenomenal. Occasionally I will grab an avocado toast and it never disappoints.

Super fun atmosphere. Loved all the merch they had. Wish they had hand soaps, but they've only got the bar soaps. I also wish they had pictures to accompany their menu. I suppose it doesn't matter too much. Bananas can be quite overpowering, so maybe many drinks are very much just banana 🤔 I'm not sure how I felt about my Blue Mylk, but the whole experience was fun overall. I'd like to come again and see if my theory holds any substance or there is a good variety of drinks to try.

Excellent food prepared and served by nice people. I’m an old guy and found the atmosphere to be quite loud. Difficult to enjoy the food and have conversation. A young person vibe. By all means try it for yourself!
