We came here for the first time to celebrate my parent’s anniversary. Every bite was an amazing culinary delight and the portions were perfect. The table service was incredible, attentive but not overboard and we never had to once look around to get our water refilled or ask for something. If you have lost hope on a great place to eat out at, come here and be restored 🌸
Food was Very Good and our waiter was attentive! Wish they put a little more sauce on the pasta. Wine selection had many options. Definitely will go back to try other dishes.
Great food. Awesome workers. Friendly.
I have been hearing about Mangia being a good placr to visit for a long time so when I had reason to be in Orchard Park last night I knew we had to give it a try. Well U must say it met and exceeded our expectations! From the 1st martini to the extensive wine list and the sumptous Lobster cakes and our seafood and pasta entrees my wife and I were satiated. No room for dessert or our planned on after dinner dtink on the beautiful upstairs outdoor patio soooo.... we know we will return.
Always a reliable restaraunt for good Italian food. Very large menu - something for everyone. Great cocktails - drinks ARE NOT watered down. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing Birthday celebration with Best friends!!! Delicious food, Great drinks and yummy desserts!!! Our server was hospitable and friendly. Had a wonderful time!!!
Perfect evening on the rooftop patio for our anniversary. The hostess was kind, and was warm and prompt and so was the waitress and every employee we ran into. Each staff member greeted us, and made sure to speak to us on our way in and out of the resteraunt. We definitely felt cared for and treated with top notch service all the way around. The food was great too! My husband I hope to return soon!
Absolutely wonderful staff. My family dines out a lot and I haven’t seen such incredible service in a while, from the hosts to the server. Our server, Wilanny (sorry if that’s not the correct spelling) was amazing. Truly made the whole experience incredible from start to finish. Also, my sea bass was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Our server recommended the tiramisu and we were not disappointed. She was so enthusiastic about her recommendations and was spot on. Thank you!
Absolutely love it here. Service and food has always been incredible. Love the rooftop patio, makes for a great date night. Pricing great for food quality. Just wish portions were a little bigger, otherwise no complaints. Our favorite is the cherry mule, arancini, crab cakes and the fresh bread they serve. always looking forward to coming back
My first time dining here. I had the Seabass special, it was delicious. Our server, Chloe was great. I can't wait to go back.
We are up in Western NY for Memorial Day weekend, and decided to take a friend for b-day dinner. We were delighted with the quality of the food and service at Mangia. Our server Brittany was attentive and very helpful. All the dishes were served hot and were seasoned well. We had an excellent salmon dish and a number of seafood pasta dishes. The chicken parmesan was good, also. The size of the servings were so large that unfortunately we had no room for desert. Mangia was a lovely, pleasant experience.
Mangia’s is a wonderful restaurant I love to go for a special event, night out with my friends or date night. The menu has great choices and the dishes are prepared with love. The wait staff is well trained and courteous. The owner whom I have met, Mr. John Ricotta should be very proud of his entire staff who do a great job in every area. The restaurant is very neat & clean and tables are set with white tablecloths. Reservations accepted.
Food was delicious. Out here from Oregon and was happy to visit this place with family. Portions are large. Flavor is great. Worth the price! Definitely recommend for a delicious? Italian meal. It's hard to find good Italian like Nonno used to make. I got the Linguine Aqua with large shrimp, the tang of the artichoke hearts, the acidity of the cherry tomatoes, and the garlic and oil sauce, I was not disappointed. The Pasta Fagiolo was delicious. Multo bene!
Never disappointed!! Food and service from beginning to end was excellent! My father 87 years old birthday we arrived about a 1/2 an hour early because I was unsure about how he could get around and they seated us right away, seeing that he would not be comfortable standing. Just another great aspect of this restaurant consideration and professionalism even in the pandemic . I live in Florida now and was travelling from California and what a treat to be able to go back to one of my all time favourites and find that it was still outstanding.
We go here often, good food all around, website could be more convenient if ordering online, you might need to call if you want to know the specials it usually just says sea bass. I'm not sure if that's just a coincidence or if that's their only "special" perpetually listed online, the latter is more likely given the online ordering is a bit dated. When I called the other night they had multiple specials for that evening, a gnocci with gorgonzola and pesto dish was on special and it was great. Point being I was glad I called.
Husband and I went here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We had reservations so we were able to be sat right away. Service was fantastic and our waitress did a great job helping us through the menu and keeping an eye on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Food was fantastic! I got the gnocchi and hubby got the hot pepper marinara. Will definitely be back! I also suggest the Blueberry Lavender Martini!
Was attending a private party and food and drinks were fantastic. And so was the staff. Very pleasant time there.
Celebrated my fiancé birthday at Mangia yesterday. This place is wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious, service was excellent and the place has such nice ambience. Probably my favorite Italian restaurant i ever been to so far! This is one of those must visit restaurants ! Will definitely return again soon.
This place has amazing food, decent portions and served hot. Each room has its own unique vibe. Beautiful patio area upstairs with elevator accommodations and two modern bars, you won't be disappointed. Mostly Italian food with an extensive menu. We had a large cocktail each, a salmon Flank wirh maple glaze, (special). Chicken Picatta with seasoned veggies and nicely fluffy rice. Additionally we order ed an appetiter, a salad, soup and dessert. They also served bread and little pizza bites, $ 149.00
Our food was excellent. We had a very attentive server.
Attended A baby shower August 9th. It was beautiful and the food was great. Accommodated 40 guests comfortably. A wonderful place to host an event.
Sat at the bar for a nice low key dinner @ 6pm. Service was so great and even better, the SEA BASS and risotto special is absolutely amazing. Top it of with a great glass of red wine and top notch bartender, perfect evening.
Had a lovely evening here with friends. Started at the bar with blueberry lavender martinis and the scallops appetizer special. The martinis were very refreshing and the scallops were good, but small. There were two scallops and it was barely enough for one person, let alone the three of us that shared it. Pricey for what we got, but again, tasty. We sat for dinner and were greeted by a friendly Shelby who took very good care of us throughout our meal. We did two more apps, the artichoke giovanni and stuffed hot peppers, which were both so good, and the peppers were nice and spicy like we all like them! For our entrees, we had the seafood ciopino, pollo adriatico, the seabass special, and pollo siciliano. Everyone raved about their entrees, especially the seabass, which I think is one of the best meals on the menu and it changes daily. We all shared the creme brulee and tiramisu desserts. The creme brulee was fabulous, but the tiramisu was dry. We mentioned this to Shelby, who immediately brought us another one, which was still dry. They apparently do not make it in house, so I cannot fault the restaurant for this. We spent quite a lot of time chatting and sharing three bottles of wine between the four of us, but we were not rushed and even though it was busy, were not asked to get up after we were done eating. Always a wonderful time and fantastic food. I would recommend a reservation as they can get very busy, especially on the weekends. Can't wait to go back!
My husband and I have driven by here for years and always talked about going. Well I decided to surprise him for his birthday. Inside... The atmosphere has a quiet romantic feel to it. We were seated right away. Our server Emily was outstanding. She is very polite and friendly. The food was amazing. Very good sized portions. My husband got a huge piece of lasagna (which he said the sausage in it tasted great) and I got the chicken marsala. Two pieces of chicken, baby red potatoes and grilled veggies. For dessert he got a homemade canolli and I got tiramisu. Both great. Would highly recommend. In fact I'm treating (surprising) my son and his fiance to dinner.
Amazing italian food and good wine! Seabass cioppino or seafood Italiano are my two my favorites!I So good!!!! I enjoy my girls night outs here- wonderful atmosphere!
First time eating here, only complaints if youll call it that is it was very loud there and server who was great over all offered us a house Reisling wine that we could of bought as the cheapest wine in any liquor store. im sure better offerings could of been suggested. Food was great, decor was good. Staff was professional.
Scallops were done to perfection. Taste and texture were very enjoyable. For dessert I had Creme Brulee. While it was delicious, it lacked the crack I was expecting. My daughter's pizza was very good. She enjoyed the Lemoncello for her dessert. Our server Shelby was very helpful with her suggestions. I look forward hopefully returning.
Went for a funeral brunch excellent friendly considerate caring staff. Excellent food rigatoni meatballs boneless chicken breast red potatoes salad and cannolis were out of this world. Been here a few times and was never disappointment. Moderate prices small parking lot but one below main lot has ample parking spaces.
This is the kind of place where we choose to dress up but it doesn't feel mandatory more like done out of good fun as many patrons dressed fit in with business casual. The food is of decent quality and I am a sucker for a great creme brulee which they do have. I enjoyed their toasted ravioli and house sauce. My husband and I both had a quality time at the bar mingling with strangers before being ked to a quality table. I truly appreciated the staffs attitude and their ability to help other patrons during times of emergency. Valentines 2026 and 2025 were well spent here.
I took back my not 5 star review after last night I called for ravioli (cheese) they do not have it, she pointed me to stuffed shells as she said it’s similar, I was ordering for my extremely picky son, I loved them. So the review is for the excellent sales that was done by the lady who answered and didn’t let business walk. Food was really good
This is a great place right at the crossroads in the village of Orchard Park. Very nice interior lots of rooms with well spaced tables and elegantly done. Food was excellent at a moderate price and I had a dish that I have never had any anywhere before that was just spectacular. Very romantic place as well for those that would like that.
Torrey was an excellent waiter and so much fun. The sea bass and risotto was perfectly cooked with really nice flavors. I really enjoyed the salmon as well. We love this restaurant!
I haven't been to Mangia in several years but it was just as I'd remembered with excellent quality food, service and atmosphere. The ambiance was just right with music, lighting and temperature. Highly recommend for an evening out to unwind and have a great experience.
What a delightful place! Warm vibes and delicious food. Except for the bar drinks (just mine) and the crouton on my salad. My martinia was just bla not much flavor... i think the bartender was just too busy/stressed. So we will try again. But the crouton on the salad. With everything else so delicious i did not expect a crouton to be 5 days old or perhaps out of a box. I admit 90% of places I have visited suffer the same syndrome - diner won't notice the stale crouton. But it is not hard to make them fresh - why don't restaurants bother?
Our first time there and it was outstanding! Service was great food and drinks were served quickly. It’s refreshing to feel you actually get what you are paying for, delicious food, great martini and great service!
Fantastic dinner! Had the lobster ravioli and it was amazing! My wife and I split the calamari for our appetizer and it’s definitely a must try when you eat here! Highly recommend.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Mangia Ristorante & Caffé is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you feel that cozy, authentic Italian vibe – like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home 🇮🇹🍝 The food? Absolutely delicious! Fresh pasta, rich sauces, and every bite bursting with real Italian flavor. You can tell it’s made with love. Definitely a place that lives up to its name — Mangia! (Eat!) The service was warm and attentive, and the place is clean and inviting. If you’re in the area and craving genuine Italian food, this is the spot. I’ll 100% be coming back again!
Lovely Italian restaurant. Our server answered questions about the menu and made suggestions (which turned out to be spot on.) She was helpful and friendly. We ordered the Vegetable Lasagna with half cream, half spicy sauce. Also ordered the Penne pasta with mushrooms, peas, and prosciutto. Everything was delicious! Would definitely eat here again when we’re in the area.
We’ve driven by Mangia multiple times when in Orchard Park. We are so happy that we dedicated and evening to enjoy our time here. Our waitress was amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Everything was fresh and presented well. We’re looking forward to returning for another delicious dinner with drinks.
Great dinner location. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and we are definitely going to add this restaurant to our “thumbs up” list. Our server David was awesome, my wife was torn between two main courses and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and she decided on the Chicken ala Gorgonzola - delicious by the way. I decided on the lobster ravioli which was equally delicious. The beverages were made perfectly and the layered chocolate cake finished off the evening. The only item that I had difficulty with was reading the menu and pronouncing some of the dishes, but that is all part of the experience of a classy Italian restaurant. Well done Mangia, we will see you soon!
Went here for my friend’s 30th birthday. I ordered a steak rare (exact words were “as rare as you can legally make it”) and it was more on the medium/medium-well side, so I was slightly disappointed. The taste was delicious, but it was a little over done for me. We also had a party of seven and were unaware that checks could only be split between parties of four…luckily the waitress was able to make an exception. But we will have to remember that in the future. Overall, it was a good experience.
We came in celebrating our engagement. Server was wonderful and very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Very surprising for an Italian place. My fiance was hoping for bread since we saw others had some but did not receive it but overall really wonderful dining experience. Desserts are fantastic.
Had chicken Parm, chicken only had 1/2 a slice of cheese on each piece. I had the chicken but where was the parm?
More a 4.5. I am very picky about Italian food. My Italian part of the family is really Sicilian. Most places are north Italian which I don’t enjoy. This place was a combo. I very much enjoyed my food. I got muscles as an app and the lobster ravioli as an entree. I got tiramisu as a desert. My one complaint is that the tiramisu was really cake and not lady fingers, from what I could tell, still tasted pretty good. All in all, if you have some cash to spare, this is a good place. I think that prices are a bit higher than they should be on some things but the food is still very good.
Was here for a baby shower earlier in the day and the food was great. Went out for drinks then came back for dinner lol As a continuation of my pasta tour around Buffalo, had to try Mangia’s meat sauce and it was delicious! It was a large portion so had to box the rest but definitely made a great lunch the next day. We ordered toasted ravioli as appetizers which were great. My girlfriend ordered a pizza and it was okay compared to the rest of the food. Overall, would recommend visiting.
Mangia was such a great find! It’s a cozy, affordable Italian spot with delicious food that doesn’t break the bank. Our server, Chloe, was amazing — so friendly and attentive. She asked thoughtful questions about what we liked and made sure we had everything we needed. The whole experience felt super relaxed and welcoming. I would definitely come here again!
Mangia is a very classy place to dine at. The ambience is nice, staff was very knowledgeable, and the place was very clean. We are plant based, and were creative when ordering, as the menu had no indication of what what vegan/vegetarian. I would like to see more plant based options available, since more people exploring different food options, including allergies. The waitress, Jessica, was very nice and attentive.
Attended an event in their M Lounge with access to the rooftop terrace. Buffet & hors d'oeuvres were excellent. The space did get quite noisy, but that is to be expected in a space that size. Clean with decent natural light. Staff were professional and friendly.
We went here for Valentine's Day/birthday celebration following a recommendation from a friend. We had a reservation so we were seated really quickly. Only a minute after sitting down, our waitress came over and asked for our drink order. We hadn't had the chance to look the drink menu over so we both asked for a water for now, but she took the menu with her. We ordered the sea bass and seafood pasta dish and a garlic herb rigatoni with chicken. Both dishes were absolutely amazing with giant portions! We did not have room for dessert, but it looked great from what I saw. We would definitely return for the taste of the food, but only for a special night given the high prices.
As always, Mangia does not disappoint. Our only critique is the service time. We waited ages for our drinks, for our server to take our order and had to get up and request the bill long after we had finished dessert. The service itself was great, friendly and professional. Food was delicious. The tortellini is the underdog as our server noted, it has a light cream sauce and crispy meat—filling yet light. We also enjoyed the pistachio cheesecake paired with the vanilla ice cream and wow, what a delight!
Had dinner on August 11th with a party of 4. I ordered the calamari for starters and the linguini with clams as my main. The rest of the party ordered the salmon, chicken marsala, and penne gorgonzola with chicken. The bread that comes complimentary was sub-par and a disappointment. I expect much better from any decent restaurant. The calamari which was shared came with a very bland tomato-paste dipping sauce. I would recommend to the owner to switch to a spicy chili/horseradish sauce. The calamari itself was good however and lightly battered. The main dishes we all got were delicious. Only complaint I have is that there were only 6 little neck clams in my dish. Need at least twice that amount to be a feature. The flavors were excellent overall though and the rest of my party loved theirs especially the penne and the chicken marsala. I also ordered the Mangia's pizza and a tiramisu to go. Both were excellent. Overall a very good experience including the ambiance with plenty of seating and room options. I'd go back.
My family and I really enjoy having dinner here. When we arrived, we were able to go to a table right away because we had a reservations. It took quite a long time for them to come over to us to get any kind of drink or any service. The server said that they were in between shifts and that’s why it took so long she did apologize. Everything had great flavor. The kids enjoyed their meals and we definitely will be going back.
Great first experience dining at Mangia. The food was excellent - we ordered lasagna, crab and shrimp Alfredo and toasted raviolis for appetizer. The lasagna is HUGE on both portion and flavor. I could only finish about half and took a large piece home, probably close to the portion size that many places serve. Some of the best lasagna I’ve had in WNY. The bread was delicious and also came with bruschetta / pizza bread. Nice outdoor patio. Will definitely be back soon.
I was very disappointed as a return customer. We had a party of 6. Our waitress was amazing. But the food was horrible. I ordered the chicken Parmigiano. The plate had over cooked pasta tons of sauce and 2 pieces of dry as a bone chicken. The cheese on top was like plastic. My mom's 75th we were celebrating and we ended up leaving and grabbing a pizza on way home. Unfortunately we will not return. Food quality is real bad. It used to be my favorite place.
It is a very dark restaurant so if you have seeing problems don't even bother. The food was just okay I ordered the chicken masala and it was very soupy. My mother got the pizza and it was like a well done Tony's pizza. My husband got the chicken parm and substituted Alfredo sauce which basically tasted like a bland cream sauce. My father-in-law did love his meal which was the special for the evening. We didn't have drink refills for over 20 minutes while waiting for our food after she dropped off our food we were finally able to ask for refills. I've heard good things so I will be back to try again and hope that maybe it was just a Thursday night fluke. It wasn't very busy so I can't imagine that being the excuse. Normally I do get photos of the food but it was too dark to even take pictures of the meals. This was at 6:30 at night in June, so it was still full daylight basically.
Went with wife and another couple for New Years Eve. Seated immediately and service was very good throughout the evening. My wife had the chicken parm and I had the lasagna. Both were luke- warm in the inside at best. Maybe need to keep it in the microwave a little longer. Lasagna needed more sauce as it was somewhat dry. In all, maybe a little below average on upper end Italian Restaurants available in the area, and quite pricey.
The food used to be 5 stars. I was a monthly visitor, but the food quality has taken a sharp turn down. If I am paying $26 for penne, it better be good. Sadly, it's not. Atmosphere and staff are fine.
Let me start with a positive. Our server was wonderful! The food, however, was underwhelming. Little taste, beefsteak tomatoes that were horribly under ripe & hard, a beet salad that lacked, well, lacked everything. Terribly disappointed, very surprised at the low quality, no rush to ever go back. For the prices being charged, we expected much more.
Hi, My husband took me to have my birthday dinner at Mangia's. My two children came too. The food was very good, but I wanted to make sure that anyone who orders the "SPECIAL" understands that IT DOES NOT MEAN THE ENTREE IS CHEAPER. In fact, I ordered the "SPECIAL" that night and it cost twice as much as what I thought it was. I ordered the sea bass with risotto. It was $56. The price above the sea bass said $29. That is what I thought it was. PLEASE ASK THEM WHAT THE PRICE IS. When I called to complain, they told me that the price was dependent on the market value of the fish. When the manager asked me what they could have done differently to resolve this problem, I told him that the waitress could have let me know the price before I ordered it. I'm sure that they would have known at that time. We spent well over $300 that night and I felt like they made no effort in compensating us. Also, If you are planning on bringing a cake (as we did), know that they charge $1. for each slice they cut. Also, the entree does not come with the salad. We paid an extra $8 to $9 for each salad. Not sure if I will be going back!
Worst service experience. Sat down and waited more then 20 minutes before anyone approached our table. A large table sat down after us and was waited on, before us, when come to find out same waiter. Ordered our drinks and apps, waited another 20 mins or more till our drinks came. Our dinner order was taken and then asked if we wanted bread. Waited 20 minutes and our dinner came. No apps. Got the excuse of he had 2 exams that day. Took a while for dessert menus. Ordered after dinner drinks and weren't given what was ordered. Food was great. Service Sucked
I was there tonight with my cousin. I ordered Shrimp Scampi and she got the Chicken Parmesan. She was completely satisfied with her meal but the shrimp on my plate were overcooked. I brought it to the attention of the waiter who was very gracious and asked me if I wanted to get another entree. I declined and told him i would just eat the pasta which was adequate. At the end of the meal the waiter asked if I wanted to take the remaining shrimp home (I had eaten one). I couldn’t help but chuckle when I told him no. He offered a free dessert but i declined that also. The bill arrived with my entree included in the bill. I felt that at the very least they could have cut the cost of my entree in half. I paid with a gift certificate I received from a friend. I still have money left on the certificate so I guess I will gift it back to my friend.
Everything was great until our pizza arrived. The dough appeared to be like a “boboli” store bought. It had holes on the underside that were machine made. I just don’t quite understand how they could offer a pizza like that? If you can’t make a real dough- just take it off the menu.
$23 for two small scallops? Mangia is good and otherwise a value, but this appetizer was shocking and a ripoff.
First off ,our server was very nice and did a good job . The food was good not great , but tasty with generous portions. Drinks came VERY slow , taking 20 min for our first round to arrive and 10 min for every round after. We ordered apps which took 1 full hour to arrive - AN HOUR!!!! After we ate apps dinner was 25 more min to arrive. This was beyond the general wait for finer dining. We did not complain because we were not sure if this was the norm for this place as it was our first visit likely our last. The short haired blond hostess wearing sleeveless shirt and boat shoes needs to lean to smile and be much more inviting when greeting customers...she is not suited for the job.
$23 for a scallop appetizer with only 2! scallops and a bunch of arugula altogether make the plate look full. Ridiculously expensive. Moving on from this place. $59 for a small portion of sea bass. Service was great though!
Service was far slower than Italian Restaurants we are used to in Buffalo. Bread was not fresh, however entrees were tasty. Overall this restaurant is overrated, but is appropriately priced for the meal.
I was not impressed. I thought the prices were very high. (For pasta) Nice presentation. I ordered chicken parmesan. The 2 pieces of chicken were huge but the sauce was thick and meatless and there was a small lump of cheese, barely melted, on top. It was just ok. The $11.00 bruschetta bread was 3 very small pieces. There were 4 of us at the table! Not even enough to share. I dont think I'll be back for another visit but I'm glad I experienced it once. Our waitress was very good. Veal Marsala was very good.
Very fancy restaurant known for its authentic Italian food. I got the stuffed shells along with a caesar salad + calamari as an appetizer. This is something I’m not used to as much but it wasn’t a bad experience. Wait time for food did take awhile; but I understand that presentation matters to them. Edit: Be careful when getting sides. I ordered my entree and figured a $26 order would come with a side but my extra Caesar salad was nearly $10. Our waiter did not tell us it would be extra.
Food was above average but service was horrible. Waitress commented she had to service a party of 30 upstairs. Management needs to do a better job staffing. Disappointing..,
New Year's Eve. Yes, it was very busy. Reservation for 8:30, we were seated at 8:50. All tables were full, so we expected a delay. We had appetizers, and our meal came out around 10. My $85 surf and turf came with a very small filet, ordered rare, presented medium. It wasn't big enough to worry about, so I ate it. We were seated at a table close to the door. They had the outer and inner doors opened and it was 30° out. It took forever for the food, the dessert, (To go) then the bill. If they opened the doors to get us to leave, how about serving us in a timely fashion? Between the meal, the bar and the tip, $600. Sorry, but Mangia is off our list.
We have been dining at mangia for many years. Since Covid service has steadily declined. There was once bus help ( service assistants) who would bring water bread etc but those are now gone. This past Saturday my wife and I had dinner on the patio. We arrived at 7:15 for our reservation. We were the only ones in the lobby but yet it took 10 minutes to get our table. After sitting at our table for another 10 minutes the server finally appears. She was pleasant but did not apologize for the wait. We ordered wine and our food at the same time wine service took forever. Bread and appetizers showed up at the same time. We had to ask for silverware. Entrees showed up and I had a veal dish was just ok Portion sizes have shrunk a bit I had two small pieces of veal on my plate. My wife had a chicken dish which was good. She asked the server for salt and pepper and also ordered another glass of wine. The wine took at least 10 minutes but the worst part my wife was waiting for the salt and pepper which never came. She took the majority of her meal home as it was too cold to eat. Needless to say we definitely will not be dining at Mangia for a long time Very sad as we did enjoy dining there Also I always tip a minimum of 20% this time only 10 which was over tipping Working in the hospitality industry for over 40 years I understand service issues this server was not trained well
I wanted to try this restaurant since I am a local. However, having a reservation for indoors and then being told rudely "you have to sit outside". I immediately was turned off and walked out. Advice: Never start with "you have to", as a business. The only thing "I had to" do was walk out and not give you my business. 😉
Wait time was good, server overall did a good job, he offered desert but failed to offer coffee or tea at the end of the meal. My wife ordered Veal Milanese but received Veal Piccata. Brought it to the servers attention he insisted she ordered Veal Piccata and made no effort to replace or comp the meal which was lukewarm warm at best. Ordered Chicken Parm, the chicken is right out of a SISCO box, tough and tasteless. Side of spaghetti: pasta was properly pre-paired but the sauce is acidic and tasteless there are jarred sauces that are much better. (Rao's) The quality of food in this restaurant has truly gone down hill the last couple of years it's like they're going for quantity of meals served rather than quality of food served. I would describe it as buffet quality food at best.
Always great food and service ,absolutely love this place . Was our favorite place. We were there just after Christmas, the 27th . My steak was excellent, However 3 members of our party had chicken dishes ,2 that ate the chicken got sick ,1 immediately, he even excused himself never to return ,the other got very ill a bit later that night. The 3rd person had one bite and said it tasted off but didn't say anything out of respect as she was our guest. Had l known any of this while I was devouring my steak I would of told the waiter and management. It was definitely a problem with the chicken. I hate to leave this review but even great restaurants have bad days but 2 of my family members became violently ill. It's wasn't the flu , I never got sick and neither did our quest. This shouldn't happen and not at those prices
I went into the experience with high expectations. Sat at the table and was extremely warm and opened the window as other windows were opened….. as the waitress was taking orders several minutes later the window fell and hit me on the head. She immediately called the manager over who was great (at first) said they would “take care of me.” The food was terrible - sea bass was chewy and calamari was gross. When we got the bill at the end of the evening it was as we ordered. We called for the manager and then he came over accusing me of opening the window and telling me it was my fault the window fell on my head. Completely changed his tune from the time of the incident. I will never step foot in this place again.
We have been regular customers at Mangia since they opened. We live in Ellicottville but Mangia is our go to place when we want to get out of town. Have been there 3 times in the last 3 months, always bring friends and have celebrated many occasions there. I order from their catering menu at least 3 times a year. Last night we invited friends to dinner as a thank you for something they did for us. All 4 meals arrived cold. My girlfriend and I sent ours back, our husbands dealt with it although they admitted their food was cold also. Husbands ate and finished their meal as we sat and waited and waited for our meals. Didn't time it but they were done about a half hour before our meals returned. Had the food been replaced hot and promptly it would have been no big deal. However, by the time we got our meals neither one of us really wanted to eat it anymore. Ruined our evening. Bryan the manager took the meals off the bill and we took the food home. I am NEVER the person looking for a free meal. We can well afford to pay, however I don't think sending us home with the doggie bag was enough. I have never sent a meal back there. Have spent thousands of dollars over the years and feel like we were not taken care of. I am sure we will be back but right now I'm not happy about how this was handled. We will never eat upstairs again. I think the distance from the kitchen hurt the food and service. I could tell my food was cold when it was placed on the table. The sauce around the edges of the plate looked dried out... like it had been sitting there awhile.
Food was good. During our dinning experience the table next to us had the window open. Moments later the window fell out and struck one of the patrons in the head. Manager came over and assured them they would be taken care of. During the course of our meal, another window fell open and hit an unoccupied high top table. Clearly something is wrong with the windows or they weren’t replaced appropriately after a recent cleaning. At the end of the tables meal, the manager came back and accused the woman that the window hitting her was her fault. Completely classless response. Disgusting to watch
Couldn't be more disappointed to be honest. My girl wanted to go here & she made reservations for seven ..We got there ten minutes early and were told to go have seat at bar. The hostess said she would come and get us.. We finished our glasses of wine while watching her circle around us maybe three times for twenty-five minutes..Never once made any eye contact, nor made any attempt to seat us.. If I could give the establishment a zero I would.. We went to another restaurant & we greeted & seated upon arrival & no reservations ~
Would give ZERO stars if I could. I had booked a party, settled the tab. Owners called later to say they forgot to charge for everyone's salad and what card do I want to use? WHAT?!?! Not we messed up how would you like to work it out. They did however offer coupons for another meal, to which I said I will NEVER EVER come back and they could keep them. Classless establishment-have not been back since.
Very disappointed. One of the mussels in my seafood dish tasted ‘off’ and I should have said something at the time, because I got violently sick when I got home. My husband’s pork chop was dry and the Gorgonzola was overpowering. We dined upstairs and our server was very loud. She needs to tone it down. It was distracting and annoying. It was our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. What a disappointing way to celebrate.
We came here on our wedding night for dinner and wanted to come back for our one year anniversary. To make it a special night . The food was amazing service not so much ..our waitress Ashleigh was terrible we had a drink at the bar which we brought to the table my husband ordered another drink when we ordered our app both came together . We waited 45 min trying to get her attention as she would serve other tables near by . One table must have been friends of hers as they were served drinks 3xs and she even ate some of their dessert as we still waited and tried to get her attention as she wouldn't look our way and continued to walk past. She left our entries on a table as she came over to grab the app plate and then went to get our food at that point she asked if we needed another drink . We were not offered more water the 2 hours we sat there . She gave us our bill and within 10 min came to our table 3 xs to see if we were ready to pay yet we still had full drinks . Overall the service ruined what we thought would have been a special night !
My husband and I have frequented Mangia for several years both as a couple and for hosting special events. Yesterday we had an unacceptable experience, in that my husband found a long hair intertwined with his first bite of the focaccia in the bread basket. He had to spit it out in his napkin and placed it on his bread plate. We told our server and she took the plate and showed it to the manager. He came out to talk with us without acknowledging the issue — rather, he had my husband explain the issue to him — then he acknowledged that he saw the hair on the plate as our server showed it to him. He said he would talk to the general manager and apologized. He asked if we wanted to continue with our meal — we were reluctant as we were turned off, but decided to keep the evening going, but overall, we didn’t enjoy our meals because of my husband finding the hair. At the end of the meal, our server said the manager wanted to offer us a free dessert to either eat there, or take home. We stated that we were full so no thank you. Our server then stated that the manager said if we didn’t accept he dessert offer, she should tell him and he would do something about the bill. She came back telling us that we got a nice discount — the manager took off the cost of my husband’s entree. We were offended that he would offer the cheaper option first — then offer us the better option if we didn’t accept. All in all, this was handled so poorly and unprofessionally. We frequent Mangia fully expecting to enjoy and pay for a good dining experience. Needless to say, we are disappointed and turned off because of finding the hair, and how it was handled. Right now, we are hesitant to return.
If I could rate the service a zero I would. My friend recommend we go to this restaurant so we gave it a try. Food was alright and atmosphere was okay but the service was horrible . We ordered our food and waited forever to get our entrees and dessert and check. Since we were waiting so long for our food , we asked for more bread. Our server made me feel so weird for asking for more because she looked angry and annoyed . When we received our bread it was thrown onto the table with no words or smile from the server . We didn’t even receive the same bread as we did the first time and the pieces looked torn by hand and not sliced . The server NEVER checked on us when we received our entree and never offered us more water . After dinner we received a box to put leftovers in, however , for some reason the server did not ask to pack our food even though she was asking other tables . After we ordered dessert , we waited forever to get one slice of raspberry cheesecake . This was THROWN onto the table as well. Never have I ever experienced such bad service from a restaurant . That being said , I will never be coming back to this establishment again. I would not recommend wasting your money here . Buffalo has more Italian restaurants with better service and good food . To answer your question below : My friend and I came in 6/19/2025 at around 6 pm and left at around 8:20 . We sat on the bottom floor by the wall with the vase decor . Close to the window but not exactly there . Our server had a high bun but I can’t remember her name . Additionally we were a walk in and had no reservation .
