Susuru never disappoints! Been going here for years and every time, it hits the spot. The team there always serves up delicious skewers (my favorite the beef tongue) and unique cocktails (get the astroboy!) I’ve tried pretty much everything on their menu and I recommend: hamachi Kama, fries, karaage, any specials they may have, beef tenderloin, chicken thigh, and pork belly! You may might have to wait since this place is awesome and it can get busy around dinner time, but believe me when I say it’s worth the wait!

Absolutely amazing izakaya experience! The uni & ikura don was incredibly fresh and rich, and the yakitori was perfectly grilled and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was delicious. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic Japanese vibes. Will definitely come back!

Truffle Tuna was my favorite hands down! But the Susuru Gohan’s sauce mixed with the rice was marvelous. The Yakitori was grilled extremely well. Although they ran out of the matcha Tiramisu the horchata soft serve was the perfect way to end the meal. We sat at the bar and even though she was super busy our bartender was amazing and still smiling past closing time. My drink was super cute and hit the spot after a long drive from Miami. Definitely coming back here earlier for dinner.

Came with some friends yesterday -- Had a Tonkotsu Black, Skirt Steak and a Matcha Tiramisu, which comes with two cups of tea. Everything was great. The whole experience, from the food, ambient, music and staff service was top notch and i'm certainly coming back 😊

Holy moly everything here was soooo good. Tuna was def the best! Karage is best ive ever had. Salmon was also delish but i still think the truffle tuna was better imo. Mentaiko fries are like the perfect amount of salty! They have that McDonalds crunch and texture with the absolute best mentaiko sauce on top. Last but not least the hambagu omg soooooo juicy and flavorful! The inside is super cute and clean and the service was amazing!

I have been wanting to try this place forever!! it’s walk in, but the wait didn’t take as long as expected, went on a saturday night too. The food was amazing, i really enjoyed the taro ice cream, i need to go back immediately just for that. the flavors are everything you’d want them to be. I tried everything our waiter recommended and I was not disappointed. Must try: pork belly small bowl 5/5

I was here on a business trip and happened to stubble across this place while looking for a late night dinner. The food and service were amazing. The atmosphere is great too, and while I’ve never been to Japan and feel like this is pretty close. As I was traveling by myself I was able to get a place at the bar without having to wait too long; however, if you have a a group of people you’ll likely need a reservation. Regarding the food I would highly recommend the king salmon tataki and the tonkotsu ramen black. They also had some great cocktails as well. Kim was great in making recommendations when I didn’t know what I wanted to order. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Orlando!

Love this place! I had this place saved in my to go list for a while and finally decided to go on my birthday. One of the best decisions I’ve made! We had two drinks, the Godzilla and the Yuzu Lemonade. Sadly, they were out of the toy that comes with it, but the drinks were still yummy! For apps, we had the Mentaiko fries. So good! Packed with umami from the roe and seaweed topping. We also ordered the chicken thigh, chicken meatball, and wagyu yakitori. Perfectly grilled and so yummy! Lots of flavor. For our entrees, I had the Tonkotsu Black ramen and my girlfriend had the Ikura Uni Don. The ramen had a rich, deep flavor that can only be attained from simmering for hours. The ikura and uni were so fresh and delicious. As for my dessert, our server gave us the Matcha Tiramisu and Taro soft serve, on the house for my birthday! That matcha tiramisu is now one of my favorite desserts of all time. It was served with hot green tea and was an excellent complement to the tiramisu. The Taro soft serve was creamy and delightful. The Japanese retro decor and music is so comfy and really immerses you into an izakaya vibe. I would most definitely come back here on another trip to Orlando!

The food here is excellent! The flavors are rich and authentic, and the noodles are quite different from other Japanese restaurants I’ve tried — softer, finer, and very easy to eat. The bamboo shoots in the ramen are good, but I think they would taste even better with a hint of sweet and sour flavor instead of just sweetness. Overall, a great dining experience with delicious dishes and a cozy atmosphere.

SUCH A GEM OF A PLACE!!! 💎 Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! ✨ My server Elli - what lovely human! She so kindly and patiently walked me through the menu (multiple times because it’s so hard to make a decision!!!) and guided me to one of the best meal experiences of my life. Only disappointment of the evening was that they were out of the Godzilla toy drink topper 😆. But no worries, I’ll be back for it! 😉

Kim was absolutely amazing. The chicken skewer was delightfully delicious. I would fly in to eat that matcha tiramisu again. I’m still thinking about it. The only downside is that my Uber took a while to pick me up, so I ended up arriving 30 minutes before closing. I could tell that the hostess was upset about that from her body language and the way she spoke to me. Aside from that I had a great experience. I would definitely go back!

I don’t even know where to begin — with the wonderful atmosphere, the delicious food, or the kind and welcoming staff? Everything was absolutely perfect. My husband and I came in hungry as wolves and left completely full and happy for about $80. The ramen was outstanding — every single ingredient had its own amazing flavor. 10/10! The drinks were also a solid 10/10 — unique, beautifully served, and full of variety. The atmosphere deserves 12/10. The place was filled with old toys, and it was so much fun to look at them. I’m not from Asia, but I had the same toys as a kid! That brought back so many memories. For dessert, I had the matcha tiramisu, and it instantly reminded me of my grandmother — it was incredibly delicious. The waiter kindly offered us two teas with the dessert (apparently they were included) and even shared a little tea secret — but I won’t tell you what it was 😉 Thank you also for the amazing grilled meat — soft, juicy, and with the crispiest edge ever. It took me right back home in my mind. I’m so glad we visited this restaurant — it truly made my evening. I live far away, but I really hope to come back someday and try the whole menu. Big thanks to the chefs — you can tell they put their heart into every dish! 🍵 P.S. I rarely write reviews — only when a place is either truly outstanding or really disappointing. So believe me, this one means a lot 🤌🏻😁

Came to Susuru for our first meal in Orlando during Fall Break and had an amazing time. Food and service were on point and the quality was fantastic - Japanese tapas? Yes, please! Ambiance was great and felt like we were in a hip Izakaya restaurant in Japan! Here's what we ordered: 1 Thigh Momo 1 Chicken Oyster Soriresu 2 Wagyu Short ribs 1 Pork Belly 1 Brussel Sprouts 1 Shishito Peppers 1 Eggplant 1 White Rice (for our young one to enjoy with the Wagyu Short ribs 2 Susuru Chashu Gohan 1 Tori Paitan Ramen 1 Mi-so-hot ramen 1 Yuzu Street Corn 1 King Oyster 3 Hot Green Teas 1 Asahi Draft 1 Matcha Tiramisu (which comes with hot green tea, but us not knowing this, our waitress was kind enough to give us all refills on our green teas) For our family of four this was a wonderful first meal Izakaya style to break the ice to begin our Fall Break vacation in Orlando, Florida! Overall, the experience of having tapas was fantastic and a great start to our family trip. We all enjoyed our meal immensely! Arigato and 5 stars!

Whenever I travel to Japan, I always revisit Omoide Yokocho; the sight and sound of after hours salarymen letting loose, and the smell of charcoal and grilled chicken fills the air. Susuru brings part of that experience to Orlando, while opening up with more options for the American experience to fit the multifaceted restaurant offerings that is more popular in the United States. That being said, their Yakitori is the highlight of the visit, with the addition of beef and pork rather than chicken only. Ramen and donburi are also available for someone looking for more carb than just meat on a stick. On top of the food, the decor is just another layer of the experience at Susuru, and the service is nothing but exceptional. It sure is a slice of Japan on the opposite side of the globe.

I nearly cried because it made me miss Japan so much. You can taste that it’s using good quality charcoal and it’s crafted with care. wonderful staff, absolutely jealous i don’t live here. I would come every time possible if i lived here. 5/5 目茶美味しいです!

One of my personal favorite places to eat in Orlando. We come here every time we’re in the city. Pretty authentic Japanese food. The ramen broth is to die for. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu though. Seriously.

Amazing! Grilled meats, ramen, bowls, great cocktails, the list goes on. Everything I’ve ever had here was good. Their karage chicken is one of my favorites. Their food is so delicious that even my pickiest kid eats everything we order there. I always forget to take pics here because I tend to devour the food before I remember to take pictures. All in all, a wonderful dining experience that I think everyone should try. Pro tip: they open at 5 but I would recommend getting there at 4:30. A line starts to form before they open and the few times that I showed up after 5:30 I’ve been told I have to wait 2 hrs, typically on the weekends.

**Pros:** 1. **Food:** Absolutely amazing! The flavors were spot on, and everything was tender, juicy, and incredibly fresh. The menu was packed with so many tempting options—honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you pick. My husband enjoyed a few drinks, too. He thought they were good, just not mind-blowing. 2. **Ambiance:** Picture a super cute izakaya bar with a lovely vibe and great music. It was a nice mix of families, couples, and solo diners. The open-style kitchen was spotless, and there were plenty of seating options—bar stools or tables. 3. **Service:** We were welcomed right away by the friendly host. No reservation needed, and we only waited about five minutes to be seated. As you walk by the kitchen, the entire staff greets you—it’s adorable! Our waiter was super attentive and happy to answer any questions we had. **Cons:** 1. **Bathroom Cleanliness:** The bathroom could use a bit more attention. Everything was well-stocked, and the soap smelled lovely, but it just needed to be a bit cleaner. **Overall:** I absolutely loved this place! From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. The food was top-tier, and the service and atmosphere all came together perfectly to create an experience everyone will enjoy. I’m definitely coming back!

This place exceeded our expectations. My family has been to several other Japanese izakaya restaurants and this one by far is the best. From the different meat and vegetable skewers (I would highly recommend the Wagyu short rib and brussel sprout skewers), to the Tunkatsu ramen. It was Amazing! They also were able to accommodate my kids Ramen, which was a hit with both boys (2 & 10 yrs old). The service is awesome and the vibe of the place is just some where you can go to enjoy great food and company. The drinks were also excellent and fun!

E
Elizabeth Hadden

Great visit if you want a bunch of different options for your table. Really enjoyed the yakitori and the gohan rice. Yakitori had good flavors and the fresh wasabi on the chicken was welcomed. The chicken meatball was also particularly good. They have a lot of mixed drinks, beers, and sakes. It’s a great classic izakaya vibe. I’d go back just for the rice bowl!

Man, this place NEVER disappoints. I’ve been to Japan and I must say that this place brings the closest thing to authentic Japanese food to the Orlando food scene. From the delicious okonomiyaki and wagyu hambagu to the yakitori skewers and matcha tiramisu, everything here is a 10/10. All the servers that have served us have been amazing and provide stellar service, and the ambiance of this place cannot be matched. One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.

Loved the experience, food was awesome! I go to the Bar around the corner all the time and always see this place packed! Finally decided to check out the place. I did however unfortunately go less than an hour before closing so the atmosphere wasn't the best but that's on me. But food and service were still great! I will say it was a little on the pricey side and the Google menu prices were inaccurate it was more expensive. All in all I will definitely be back to try more of the menu

This restaurant always offers a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is great, and the customer service is always amazing. The food is fresh and so delicious with so much flavor and the drinks are so good too. Most of the time, there is a long time waiting to be seated, but it's so worth it.

This place is a hidden gem! They have Japanese style tapas. Everything was fresh and delicious! The cocktails and beer selection was good too. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We got there right at 5pm and there was a line of people waiting at the door!

Orlando’s Best Hidden Gem – After 15 years in Orlando, I can confidently say this is the best dining experience I’ve ever had. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was in a cozy Michelin-star spot tucked away in a big city—not Orlando. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I had the lamb chops, and they absolutely blew me away. Marinated for 48 hours, they were incredibly flavorful, soft, and tender—hands down the best lamb I’ve ever had. I paired it with a sake juice box that was smooth and perfectly balanced with the dish. For dessert, the matcha tiramisu paired with hot green tea was the perfect ending—subtle, comforting, and delicious. Huge thanks to Kim for being so informative and to Josh for the excellent service. This is officially my new favorite restaurant in Orlando. Worth every penny—and an absolute must-visit.

Everything here is absolutely perfect!!! Service was very good and fast, our server he was super sweet with a smile on his face and got all our orders right even tho we ordered so many stuff. He works like he truly cares about customers! Food was absolutely delicious and we were very surprised with the ramen bout how good it was!! The ramen egg was one of the best ones I've ever had. Big grilled fish. A lil pricey for us but it was def worth it! 1000/1000.

Although the menu didn’t surprise me, everything we ordered was really good. Our server Ally was very attentive and even shared her personal favorites from the menu, which was a nice touch. The beer selection was quite interesting, and from the moment you walk in, the authentic vibe of the restaurant makes the whole experience enjoyable. 🍜✨🍻

Came here with my bf, and we both loved it! Sat at the bar and was able to watch the food being made. Love the vibe and interior design. The skewers were way larger than I expected, and I truly appreciate that. We ordered way too much food thinking the skewers were going to be tiny little things, but they were chunky pieces of meat! Love that. Got the fried king oyster mushroom, okonomiyaki, and pork belly rice. Skewers we got: chicken thigh, short ribs, pork belly, scallops, eggplant, and mochi. Dessert was matcha tiramisu and tea. The tiramisu was way better than I imagined. Don't forget to order it!

Absolutely the BEST Yakitori I’ve had in the US. Every single item we ordered was beyond expectations. The chicken oyster is definitely Michelin-level, and the best thing is that it’s not a special or limited item on their menu! The beef tongue was thick and flavorful. The bacon wrapped mochi was slightly sweet and very fragrant. The house rice bowl with uni was satiating. Just don’t be discouraged by their waitlist and try to ask the attendant for a seat. Won’t be disappointed.

A

Susuru was a top choice. The Yakitori there was amazing. We sat at the bar as it was the only seating available without a wait. The chicken meatballs were so flavorful. All the Yakitori items were great. The chicken oysters, chashu, and cartilage are unique and tastes great as well. The matcha tiramisu is a must try.

SUSURU is a true haven for Japanese food lovers. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a cozy, modern ambiance that blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with a trendy twist. The menu is thoughtfully curated, featuring an impressive variety of ramen, izakaya-style dishes, and other Japanese specialties. The ramen is a standout – rich, flavorful broths paired with perfectly cooked noodles and fresh toppings. Their selection of small plates, like karaage chicken and takoyaki, is equally remarkable and perfect for sharing. The attention to detail and presentation is outstanding, and the flavors are authentic, making every bite an experience. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the perfect dish or sake to pair with your meal. Whether you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine or a newcomer, SUSURU offers something for everyone. It’s not just a meal – it’s a journey into the heart of Japanese flavors. Highly recommended!

Great food and I like the Japan vibe of the restaurant. They open at 5pm and the wait is always long so make sure you go early if you want to get in fast. Loved everything about this place: service, food, atmosphere. We had several Japanese meals during our week in town and this was our favorite by far. The ramen had such depth of flavor. Truffle sesame tuna and king salmon tataki were excellent as well. Tried a few yakitori and yasai and they were well prepared. The gohan bowls were so delicious too it was my son’s favorite of the night. Matcha tiramisu with matcha tea was a delightful finish to the meal. We would definitely return next time in town.

The food and drinks were delicious! Everything was hot and fresh. Our party did have to wait a long time (2 hours) to be seated, although we did come on a Saturday night so it was understandable. I read the reviews before coming here and I expected this anyways, we were fine with the wait, it was definitely worth it.

L

Easily Michelin 1-star if you ask me. Limited menu says a lot about their dedication to quality control. BBQ skewers are excellent. I had the pork belly, waygu rib, scallops, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms. Street corn is special. All hot and fresh, flavorful but not salty, just right. Not over-charred. Worth every penny and more. Served by both the lady and the gentleman at the bar. Super attentive but not intrusive. Busy kitchen but they all look happy. The owners must be doing something right. Bitter employees make bitter food. I am thankful that they appear to be a great hardworking team.

Food was pretty good! I was impressed with the quality of the foods I got here, specifically the ramen and the shoyu duck. Initially our waitress said that the tapas were small portions so we ordered a bunch, but each dish ended up being a lot more than we expected. I enjoyed each dish and I would definitely come back to this place in the future!

Loved our dinner and especially the desert (delicious in my tummy as for my eyes and you can taste that's freshly made there). Our server Mai was outstanding and i can't remember a dining experience so magical. Will definitely return. My husband also loved the grilled mackerel, shishito peppers skewer and tea. We had come from a happy hour so next time we will try their alcoholic drinks.

Wow! Always wanted to come here and finally did with wife. Sat at the bar and got amazing service from Asuka. First visit. Everything on the menu looks amazing. Sitting at the bar I got to watch all the food come out and it just made me want to order everything I saw. Wagyu short rib skewer was perfect as well as the Brussel sprouts. Can't wait to come back for the ramen. Great vibe, great service, great food, and great drinks. I had the dai dai ipa and my wife found her new favorit drink the wakimizu. Worth any wait. Will be back soon and often.

AMAZING FOOD, made me feel like I was actually back in Okinawa. Loved it and will definitely return to actually take pictures and post them. This place is amazing! Since it was only 2 of us, we sat at the bar. We really enjoyed watching them prepare food and work as a team. They were a well oiled machine. Even though it was very busy, food never sat more than a minute. Seriously, it was pretty impressive. The restaurant and food reminded us of our visit to Japan a year ago. We got the Mentaiko fries, Hambagu and matcha tiramisu. The portions were large and we shared between the two of us and left full. We also shared the tiki time cocktail.

No wonder this is one of the most popular izakayas in Orlando! After eating days of junk food in the theme park, this meal truly saved my stomach. Here’s what we ordered and my ratings: 🐟 Uni Ikura Don – $35 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Generous portion of sea urchin and salmon roe! A burst of ocean flavor in every bite. The only downside is that the roe tasted slightly bitter, lacking a bit of freshness. 🍙 Yaki Onigiri Chazuke – $10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The original grilled rice ball in dashi broth deserves five stars! But the staff recommended adding a meat topping, which actually ruined the balance. DO NOT add it! The original version is already amazing—the bonito broth is incredibly flavorful, and the crispy grilled rice ball soaks it up perfectly. 🍜 Tantan Ramen – $18 ⭐⭐ Ordering tantan ramen at a Japanese restaurant is always a gamble, and unfortunately, this was another disappointment. I’ve never had a good one at a Japanese place! Tantanmen should stick to Sichuan-style flavors—the Japanese twist just tastes weird. 🐟 Unagi Box ⭐⭐⭐⭐ So much eel in the eel rice box! Absolutely delicious! 🐟 Hamachi kama ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you like grilled and crispy fish jaw, you're in for a treat! It's a super good dish to pair with alcohol! Tasty! 🍶 ### Also recommended for yakitori → - **Beef tongue** - Tebasaki - Kawa

The atmosphere is amazing and the food delicious! Great service as well, very friendly and attentive. This place is popular, but they don’t take reservations so be prepared to wait at least one hour. There are other things to do nearby, my friends and I went to drink something and play pool during our two hours wait, so we didn’t even feel the wait

I discovered this place when I was staying at a hotel nearby and needed somewhere to eat. Now, it's a place I go to every time I am in Orlando. The place is a bit more on the costly side, but I have to say that everything was good. I am a fan of sea urchin and ikura (salmon roe), and theirs was pretty fresh and tasty. Just the portion size on the smaller side. Apart from that, I tend to have the skewers, especially chicken skin, hearts, cartilage, beef tongue, and other ones (don't yuck my yum, I am an adventurous eater). Then I end with a tiramisu. I usually order a drink too, like the Godzilla one with is more on the sour side, which I like. This is a treat I give myself every time I am in Orlando, and I know it is costly, but worth it! I spent about $100+, but if you are not splurging and treating yourself like I am doing, it's totally possible to keep the cost down if you have others to share the food with.

If you ever want to feel like you are in Japan without leaving Orlando this is the place to go! The decor and setup of the restaurant definitely has the right vibe. That being said for those with sensory issues you may need to bring your noise cancelling headphones or air pods as it can get quite loud when the restaurant is full. And it normally is full so make sure you head there early to get your name on the list. This is also a great place to try different entrees with friends. One of the standouts to me was the baby scallop skewers! They were cooked to perfection with a little crispiness on the outside edge. The pork belly was also a great choice but honestly not sure if you can go wrong with any of the skewers!

Great night out with friends. Food was delicious. Salmon and Tuna were so fresh. Fries were delicious! Drinks are cute and yummy. The atmosphere is welcoming and fun! Kids can enjoy a fun meal as well. Ramen is hot and delicious.

Right when you walk in, the perfect, retro vibe hits. I cannot recommend sitting at the bar enough if you're able. Not only do you get to see how the kitchen works, but you also get a good preview of everything being prepared before it goes out if you're at the end. Plus, the service is absolutely incredible. It's tapas-style for the most part, so you'll be ordering a few dishes. We ordered 11 dishes, and the ones that stood out were the chicken nanban (specialty item), bacon-wrapped mochi (specialty item), chicken skin, beef tenderloin and the matcha tiramisu. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Chino Tsang Figueroa

I have been dying to try this place out for a while. And the only word I can say after coming here is "Incredible"! From the moment you walk in and you feel like your in a whole different place. The atmosphere is 10/10. Food and service were spot on. The service was amazing everyone of the service staff were the sweetest. And last food. We had about 11 items and none disappointed. We started off with the Karaage, seaweed salad, and the Yuzu Street Corn. Have to highly recommend all three. We continued with the chicken thighs, chicken breast with scallions, short ribs, skirt steak, Shitake Mushroom, and bacon wrapped asparagus. And finished with the Sururu Gohan and Susuru Chashu Gohan. Wow everything tasted amazing. The aged sweet soy sauce for the Gohan went prefect with the rice. We finished it with the best Tira Misu we have had. The Matcha Tira-Masu with hot tea really were great ways to end the meal. If you're in the Disney Area you have to stop and give this place a try

Rice bowls, Ramen, Yakitori, Okonomiyaki, oh my! This is the Japanese food you need in your life. So amazing and delicious we had to make it back twice on a short trip to Orlando. This restaurant offers fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine with a clean, fresh, relaxed and hip atmosphere.

We stopped for dinner at this restaurant after our day at Universal! The food was deeeelicious! 😋 We will definitely eat here again. Our server, Asuka, was so attentive and since this was our first time here, she took her time in explaining the menu, recommending things, and giving us A+ service. We had a bit of everything on the menu but the Susuru Chashu Gohan ($11) was the best😋. They had a special on Authentic Japanese Unagi Don ($40) which I had and it was superb *chef's kiss*😘! Definitely recommend! It has a college hangout kinda vibe which we enjoyed 😉

All I have to say is that this place is amazing and worth waiting for a table. Fun ambience with all of the retro memorabilia and toys. Service is a bit slow and it was hard to get water refills, but the food more then makes up for it. Highly recommend ordering off the specials menu, though they do run out quickly. Almost everything we ate was great, and the misses were far and few. We had the grilled squid special and it was ridiculous. Other Highlights were the vegetables. I could live off the japanese eggplant and brussel sprout skewers, they were that good. The scallion chicken and short rib were both dry so I would pass on those, but definitely order the fried chicken. That is phenomenal. I am excited to go visit my friend in Florida again so that we can go back and try some more things on the menu.

I have been coming here for years now. In spite of it being busy all the time, the standards of service and food are never compromised. Their ramen is good but their yakitori is were it’s at! Paired with a fun bar program! Must try!

If you’ve been looking for Japanese food that breaks from the normal western flavors this place if for you. Think of it like Japanese tapas. Small plates with tons of variety. Be warned this place can get busy se be prepared to wait up to an hour to get a seat. But the wait is well worth it. Big open dining area and a great beer selection. This has become one of my favorite spots in Orlando by far!

For starters our server was absolutely amazing. Chris was so kind and made genuine recommendations when we asked. We didn’t feel rushed or pressured to order more and felt like we were in good hands. The rest of the staff was equally kind from the hosts even to the food runners. Our water glasses were never empty either. The vine and decor was immaculate as well. Every single thing we ordered was amazing and I would reorder. In fact we did reorder the gyoza before we even finished our meal. We ordered 2 orders of gyoza, 3 different meat skewers, corn, Brussels, mushrooms, zucchini, boba and only spent $65. Absolutely amazing food, amazing service and great prices. Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

A must stop when we're in town. After a few visits, we've tried most of the menu at this point. There are no bad choices. I over eat every time we visit. The decorations give it a Showa retro vibe that's inviting and cozy. I use Google translate to read some of the decor and signage while waiting. It's a pretty popular spot, so expect a decent wait during prime meal hours. Especially on the weekends. Ordering tip/recommendation if you're a first-time visitor dining here in a group: The Ramen is good, but so are the grilled items. A single bowl of Ramen is a generous portion that (IMO) is more than enough fill up an average sized tum tum. Maybe split a bowl of Ramen two ways (or more) so you still have room to sample some of the grilled items. Everything is good, but the Kawa (chicken skin) Yakitori and the Tonkotsu Ramen are my favorites.

Had this joint recommended by a local friend who said it would be my jam and he was right! Outstanding food, great punk rock kaiju-theme atmosphere. Best bites were the Shiso-butter onigiri and the chicken-oyster yakitori skewer; the okonomiyaki was a dream. Everything was super flavorful, memorable, and Dennis was great and attentive on a busy night. Tasty cocktails as well. Brilliant evening.

I love coming here every chance I get! The food is always fantastic, and the whole vibe just makes it such a great experience. What really takes it over the top, though, is when Jenn is my bartender. She’s attentive, friendly, and makes everyone feel welcome. She truly elevates the entire experience every time. Highly recommend!

Great Japanese place, have decorations and good lively Japanese music. I had the mi so hot ramen and was very good. Could've been more spicy though but still giving it 5 stars. Goyza was also very good.

Me and my wife went to Susuru tonight and it did not disappoint! Everything from beginning to end was amazing. Starting with Eduardo that got us seated at the bar, which made the experience even better. The customer service while we were eating was top notch. Food was incredible! I got a bit of everything and my wife got the tonkotsu ramen and the uni ikura don. Everything was made and served with a lot of care. We will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was very pleasant as well. They also decorate their interior in a very cool manner! The dishes we ordered were: Hiyayakko Tofu, Miso Grilled Lamb, and (YAKITORI) chicken meatball with raw egg yolk, chicken oyster, lower thigh w/ scallion, chicken skin, skirt steak, eggplant w/ miso sauce, zucchini, brussel sprouts, and shiitake mushroom. Our dinner was very filling and it came to about $50 pp! Would definitely come here again!

This is by far the best Japanese restaurant I've been to in the USA! I absolutely love the Mentaiko fries; I couldn't stop eating them. I highly recommend trying those. The raw octopus was surprisingly good, especially with the wasabi. The pork over rice was decent and worth a try as well. However, I found the karaage to be quite disappointing, so I wouldn’t recommend it—save your stomach space for something else. The cold tofu was delightful with the sauce. Overall, after tax and tip, the total was quite affordable. It’s definitely worth it!

Best and friendliest service we have received at a restaurant. Chris made our party of 5 feel welcomed and took great care of us and explained things on the menu that we were not familiar with. The food tasted amazing and came out quick which is a plus when you are extra hungry. French fries were extra crispy, skewers were soft and well marinated, ramen was well balanced. Desserts and tea were great to end the night!

This place is the bomb and we’ll come here every time when in the area. Kim was absolutely the best and if you get the chance to have her as your server it is a PRIVILEGE. The Susuru Chashu Gohan was 5 stars and so was the Tan Tan ramen. We also tried the Matcha Tiramisu and we loved it. They only make a limited amount every day so you know it’s amazing. Thank you KIM!

We arrived shortly after opening and were told the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. We waited about 50 minutes in total for a table of four, which wasn't too bad considering it was Christmas week. We tried a few different skewers. The short ribs were a bit chewy and not the best, but the chicken hearts, shinkawa, and achilles were good. The okonomiyaki $10 was packed with lots of cabbage. The unagi don $40 had a good amount of eel, and my daughter loved it. The uni ikura don $35 was heavenly, my favorite, but the portion was really small. The chashu gohan was alright, it felt like just pork belly over rice. We also ordered tonkatsu ramen $17 and chicken karaage $11, which my son enjoyed and devoured. The matcha tiramisu came with two teas, which paired very nicely together. Our total was $181 before tipping. We'll be back next time when we're in Florida!

Came in on a Sunday evening for dinner and it did not disappoint. Wait time was 30-45 min and it seemed like it kept being that way the entire time as I kept seeing people putting their names on the list. I received a text when our table was ready. The service was great the entire time and food came quickly. I had the Gozilla drink which was pretty good and came with a souvenir. To eat we started with a chicken hear, chicken gizzard and pork belly yakitori. They were delicious but very tiny. The street corn was also really good, had lots of flavor. We also ordered the tonkatsu ramen with black garlic oil and chili oil. The broth was very flavorful and had lots of noodles. Definitely would recommend to try.

On our road trip from Fort Lauderdale back to Boston, we made a stop in Orlando and spent two exciting days exploring the Disney theme parks. Thanks to recommendations from fellow Google Local Guides, we decided to check out Susuru, a Japanese restaurant that caught our attention. We arrived around dinnertime to find the place bustling with activity. Despite the crowd, we were quickly seated and got started with the Dengaku Shishito appetizer. It was so delicious that we immediately ordered a second round! For our main course, we enjoyed two hearty bowls of noodles, and we wrapped up the meal with a delightful tiramisu for dessert. The restaurant’s cozy atmosphere, warm hospitality, and flavorful dishes made for a truly enjoyable and relaxing dining experience. If you’re in the Orlando area and craving authentic Japanese flavors, Susuru is a hidden gem worth discovering. Highly recommended!

Japanese pub style food done very well. Appetizer portion skewered meats and veggies with savory flavors. My go to here is the chicken skin skewers and mochi wrapped bacon (weekends only for the mochi). This place is always bustling and their crafted drinks are great. The king salmon tataki is a definite banger and so is the truffle tuna. They have a different flavor soft serve daily. They’re all great. The green tea matcha tiramisu is so perfect. Only item I didn’t like were the oyster mushrooms. I couldn’t bite through them. Staff is awesome. I love it here

The atmosphere was nice, a nostalgic Japanese vibe. The food was good, the chicken in my Ramen was a little cold, but not a huge issue since the hot Ramen warmed it to room temp. Our server was nice as well, would go again.

We came for a Valentine's Day dinner and had a great time. The vibe here is very unique and in line with what you'd expect in a more modern izakaya with the walls filled with Japanese paraphernalia and anime music overhead. The Tonkotsu ramen isn't the best I've had, but it's decent. I really liked their ochazuke and hiyayakko tofu. For a Valentine's special, they also had this interesting passion fruit boba. I wasn't too impressed with the drink, but I loved the cotton candy on top. This was also the first time I tried okonomiyaki. I don't know if I just don't like the dish in general or this one in particular, but I wasn't a fan. Service was friendly and we didn't wait too long for food. Overall, I'd come back to share more dishes and drinks with friends.

Great izakaya vibes and tasty food! The food didn’t disappoint — super tasty and well-seasoned. The only downside was the slow service. Hope they improve that because the food is worth coming back for.

5/5 stars for service and atmosphere. 5/5 for the okonomiyaki. Maybe it was an off day but 2/5 for the chicken skewers since they were all pretty bland and dry. 3/5 for the veggie skewers. 4/5 for the hambagu and ramen which were good.

Food was delicious and fresh, our server was excellent and so well informed of the menu! Walked in around 5 and there was no wait; by the time we left it was packed! Would definitely return to try more options but the fries, street corn and chicken yakitori were amazing.

The food here is delicious! Try not to come closer to night time because most of the food is sold out! The atmosphere was amazing and feels like you’re in Japan. The customer service was welcoming and very friendly! The food is very reasonable and tradition. The flavor is amazing and the rice with salted eggs was perfect for meat sticks! The dessert tasted the bitterness of matcha but the sweetness of tiramisu which is a perfect match. Recommend coming here with friends and family! Update: 10/24/2023 Food here is always delicious and the service is amazing. Just be careful coming later at night since some of their popular items do get sold out. We came here multiple times already and we still haven’t gotten the Godzilla toy with the drink.

The place is quite crowded during dinner hours, and there is a constant wait. However, the food is delicious, and the Izakaya-style interior is impressive.

Unique and authentic Japanese small plates. Menu options are good and even have chicken hearts on a skewer. Service is great and food serves quickly. The matcha dessert is amazing. Update Dec 2022 Came in the busy week, was here 15 minutes before open and the line already long. I was told 2 hours wait time, since my friends never try it, so we decided to wait. They do need to improve to work on the wait line. There are seat available by the window, but didn't get occupied until 9pm, why? There are 3 tables for 6 or more people. However, if you are next in line with party of 4, they will get the large table with empty seats, even the following party has 6+ people. They will not seat the large party first since there are only three large tables. When the table for 4 is available, then the party of 6 get skipped?

Many authentic Japanese food , little pricey, small portion Ramen was good Uni Ikura Don and Shiso butter Yaki were great Salmon was fishy and small portion. Nothing comes with it. You need to add up the rice or vegetables Generally speaking, it was a good experience.

Great experience at Susuru! We ordered the tori paitan ramen and the uni ikura don, and both were delicious. Honestly, it was impressive considering we’re in Orlando and not Japan. The place is nicely decorated, and our waiter was very pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Love the decor feels like stepping into Japan street food! Had the tonkotsu ramen and the broth was probably one of the best I’ve had! The pork was fine sadly only get one small slice (everywhere else there’s been at least 2). Tried the chicken karaage and it was lovely and crisp! Love the mayo. The cocktails looked so good from looking at other tables but sadly didn’t get one. The vibe is great and love the free water without having to ask. Also the toilets are so cool !!

Beautiful interior with a welcoming atmosphere. Although we were initially quoted a 30-minute wait, we were seated in just 10 minutes. The food was delicious, making this a great spot for family and friends to enjoy a sit-down meal. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible. We ordered the skirt steak, tenderloin, and pork belly. The meat was tender and juicy, though slightly chewy. The chicken skin had a light, crisp texture. The negima was buttery and juicy, and we especially enjoyed the tsukune—it was light and paired perfectly with the garlic mayo. The Susuru Chashu Gohan was another highlight. The pork belly was tender yet slightly chewy, with its rich fat coating the mouth. The rice, infused with sweet aged soy, complemented the pork belly beautifully. The Shiso Butter Yaki Onigiri was also delicious and paired well with the skewers. The drink we ordered was yummy with a slight kick—just strong enough to be enjoyable. Service was excellent—our server was attentive and very kind, adding to the overall great experience. One minor drawback was that the chairs felt slightly uncomfortable for larger patrons. While we’ve had better skewers elsewhere, we still recommend this spot. Definitely a must-try!

Excellent atmosphere. Felt like I was was in a pixel art japanese themed 80s screensaver. The water was the worst by far that I've had in the USA. Undrinkable. Got bottled drinks to avoid it. The water flavored the food too. Which made it disappointing. Not much other flavor either. Dont understand the hype unfortunately.

I liked how the restaurant looks very Japanese like izakaya. Ikura donbri was little too sour taste. Ikura is usually just salty but I think they put yuza flavor which made it not that tasty. Yakidori were okay because there’s really no flavor. They were not b really seasoned. Maybe they forgot to season them. Service was okay

Came here as we stayed in the area during a Disney trip. I was surprised to find so many Asian restaurants in this small plaza. Susuru is an izakaya with typical izakaya fare. We ordered the tori paitan ramen and the mi so hot ramen. Both ramen were just ok. They did not have much depth of flavour and were very salty. I was interested in the corn as I had never seen that used as a ramen topping previously. We also got some small bites. We got the miso eggplant, momo yakitori, tsukune yakitori and a hiyayakko tofu. All of these fell a little short. They were too pricy and the quality was just so so. It didn't really have much of a distinct taste. The atmosphere of this izakaya is quite nice and it was nice to see such a lively place in an unassuming plaza.

First came here in 2024 (hour wait) it is what it is. Had a decent family meal. Just finished dining here again, same deal 1 hour wait (arrived 20 min after opening). Waited the hour only to be told by the hostess that it would be another 1 to 2 hours. We tried reason with her and finally the staff reluctantly put 2 tables together to accommodate us. The red rice beer was pretty good and the eggplant. Mainly came for the ramen and it missed the mark (my opinion of course , sure other's stand by it). It was more noodles than broth and most importantly, unlike other traditional ramen joints, their pork chashu was really gummy boiled bacon. Can't win them all, I'm sure they must be doing something right with all the business they draw, but collectively the whole family agreed the food wasn't worthwhile this time. First experience was fine, but the quality of thia evening's food and service lacked. We'll close the chapter with this restaurant.

Holy expensive. For $72 you would think that 2 people dining here would be satisfied enough. We ordered 2 entrées and 2 drinks. Let me tell you, we immediately drove to another restaurant right after eating here. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but the portion size was not anywhere near comparable to the price. Not to mention we ordered two of their "gimmick" drinks and were told AFTER we received the drinks that one of the toys we were supposed to get wasn't in stock. That would have been nice to know before I spent $9 on a drink hoping to indulge in their literal advertised gimmick. I get that it says "limited" and according to the waitress they don't even give the toys if you order a mocktail (good luck if you drove here) but again, that's something that customers should be told in the moment. I had to ask the waitress about the toy after she set the drinks on the table. I even asked if they could substitute the toy with another one that we knew they had in stock. They couldn't spare one other cheap toy while charging $26 for a mid-sized bowl of rice and meat. The only wholly positive thing from this experience were the host and hostess at the entrance of the restaurant. Don't let the social media "hype" blur your vision. Not worth it. The workers are just following policy, I get that, but the owner needs to reevaluate.

It was extremely bad. It was the worst Japanese food I've ever had. The sea urchin rice was very expensive and very bitter. The staff told me it was normal, but the sea urchins I had eaten before were always very fresh and sweet. The ramen was very salty and the squid was burnt.
