Elmer's is a Palm Springs favorite since 1968, known for its extensive menu, reasonable prices, and great staff. The German pancakes are a must-try. It's a popular breakfast spot that can get very busy, especially the parking lot.

We went here on one of the days when it actually rained in Palm Springs! There was a 15 minute wait. When we were seated, we ordered a couple of good dishes. We ordered Cub Cake, the Garden Vegetable Omelette & Mr. Elmer's Omelette. All the omelettes were awesome! When we come back, we will be back for more!
Best breakfast I've had in a while. Pancakes were excellent, bacon was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth, sausage was good also. Will definitely go back to Elmers
Elmer’s isn’t fancy, but it’s a fantastic “Palm Springs classic”. Huge portions of quality diner food, incredibly friendly staff who have mostly been there forever and a warm and wonderful owner, Jackie.
We love this place! Even with a 45 minute wait, it was worth it! The food is amazing! Born and raised in Portland, I love this Portland based company. We had the German pancake, the crapes, and the eggs with ham. The service is fast and attentive even when every table is filled. It’s amazing how fast they make the food. It’s the #1 rated breakfast place in Palm Springs and for good reason. Go here!
There were 5 of us and aside from a 45 minute wait to get in, everything was excellent! The service and ambiance were great and everyone enjoyed their breakfasts, including the German pancake which was very unique. We have a few more days of vacation left so I’m sure we’ll be back at least once more.
Worth the Uber ride out of the tourist part of town. We had the stuffed hash brown and potato pancakes. Both amazingly delicious 🤤 Fantastic speedy service. We were lucky we got there early and didn’t wait for a seat (8am). There weee many waiting for a seat when we left! There is outdoor seating yet this isn’t always open.
Found this place when looking for the best breakfast in the area to go offsite while in Palm Springs for a business conference. The menu had so many choices. We saw the German pancakes served to our table neighbors, who were gracious enough to offer us a piece to taste! It was all that!! I had the Dungeoness Crab Benedict and loved it! Would definitely give Elmers a 4.5 Star rating and highly recommend a visit when visting this area! It's a very busy place so go early to avoid waiting for a table.
The food and staff here are always consistently amazing. ☺️ Went on a busy day and only waited a few moments for a table. The service is quick and super friendly, the portions are pretty big so you definitely get your value from here! Definitely recommend the northwest hashbrowns, super filling but to die for! Thank you again!
Terrific Prime Rib at 1/3rd the price of a top-end steak or rib house. I’ve eaten prime rib all around the world and this is a very competently done roast. You have to come early because they run out fast. Our group got in around 6:30 on a Sunday, and got the last two Medium orders, 12 ounces cooked weight declared but more like 16 ounces. Fish and chips not so good, and decor was basic Diner (but more floor space), but overall the beef carried the day for me.
Walk in and ask to be seated. The weekends can get busy, but we came in at 830am on a Saturday with 0 wait. We also went on Sunday at 930am, and it was much busier, but for a party of 4, the wait was 30 minutes. The food quality is AMAZING. Everything tasted fresh. Even though it is very busy, service was still very good and we would get a lot of drink refills with no issue. I will come here again on my next trip to palm springs!
They only seat complete parties. We arrived just before 9 on a Sunday and were able to get a table immediately. The place was packed with a waitlist by 10:30. Service was great. Food portions are generous at a decent price point. It was all delicious. Their biscuits aren’t too dry. The only non-pork breakfast meat choice is chicken apple sausage.
We came here for lunch, the food was good, it has good selection of breakfast and lunch food. Pancake was really tasty, light and fluffy. We got cheese burger, bacon and egg omelette, fish and chips, all were really delish. But I hope they have better system for large party, we were party of 8, and we waited too long for our table, about 1.5hr
Elmer's was recommended to me by Smoke Tree Stables and I was not disappointed. Staff was very friendly, food very good, with generous portions, and prompt service at reasonable prices. Javier was an outstanding waiter with a sincere desire to serve well.
Elmer's was delicious. I ordered the Veggie and Egg Whites bowl with a side of chicken sausage which came out hot. Biscuit was fresh and soft. Prices are a bit high for such a simple breakfast. But overall good value.
The building could use a little decorative update but it was clean, and the service was great! My husband and I stopped to grab a bite before heading to the airport at the end of our vacation. There were plenty of food options to keep us full in preparation for a long travel day. The bacon was cooked to perfection, as were our eggs, coffee cups were kept full and all servers were friendly and courteous! We will definitely return on our next visit!
We visited Palm Springs for the first time and Elmer's was within walking distance from our hotel. There were so many people mulling about outside the restaurant that I thought it was going to be at least an hour wait. To my surprise, the wait for 3 was only 20-25 minutes, and they met their estimated wait time, too. Elmer's has something for everyone, including all kinds of breakfast proteins (except vegetarian), omelettes, scrambles, waffles, pancakes (including huge German pancakes served with lemon wedges), oatmeal, fruit, etc. Although they serve breakfast all day, they also serve lunch and dinner, including stacked sandwiches, sandwich and soup combos, burgers, prime rib, seafood, etc. Their coffee was hot and delicious. I had the vegetarian omelette with hash browns and an English muffin. I ordered it light, with 2 eggs instead of 3, and the hollandaise sauce on the side, which was very flavorful, although I only had a taste. That likely dropped the dish's calories from 1,000 to 700 or so. The omelette was delicious, and the vegetables within were fresh and retained their texture. I was satisfied, but not overly full. My wife had the Belgian waffle with apple cinnamon topping and fresh fruit. It came with 2 eggs prepared any style. The waffle was light and crispy, and the apple cinnamon topping was close to the best I've ever tasted. It wasn't too sweet; the apples were cooked through, but retained some texture, and the cinnamon flavor came through without being over powering. We had a great meal at Elmer's, and I recommend you drop by if you're in the area.
Came to Elmer’s for early morning breakfast. They were one of the early risers in Palm Springs. We had a nice relaxing morning on their patio, which is dog friendly. We enjoyed their country fried steak, waffle, and mimosa (peach). Service was fast and friendly! Definitely will be coming back our next trip to Palm Springs!
We had to go here since hearing the great reviews on it. It did not disappoint. My mom had the Lingonberry German Pancake, which I had to have a bite. Delicious!!! I had the Hungry Ranch Breakfast, wow, the hashbrown were just the way I like them. It came with a biscuit which I believe is freshly made. Our waiter was on top of it and super friendly, thank you David. This place is a must stop if your in Palm Springs. We will be back next time we are here.
I found this place through Yelp and read so many wonderful reviews I decided to give it a try. I ordered chicken fried steak which included a side salad, and added a cup of clam chowder since the menu stated the recipe is from 1938. How can you pass that up? 😏 I wasn't disappointed either. It was delicious! The Chicken Fried Steak was also a treat. The breading is thin and not overbearing the flavor of the meat. The steak was very tender and easily chewable which would be great for someone limited with their chewing capabilities. The meat also had minimal fat. This was one of my favorite Chicken Fried Steaks and I have tried quite a few places. The vegetable are fresh! That's a raretty as well. Not mushy. I will definitely be back to try their German pancakes! And to top everything off, their prices are very reasonable and the customer service was wonderful too. 5-stars! 👍😁
The BEST breakfast! First, Elmer’s does a great job and enticing you with huge pictures in their menu and mini unique dishes, including German pancakes, potato, pancakes, lingonberry, crêpes, plus all the standard breakfast fare. And the best part for us is, they are pet friendly, with a covered patio with overhead fans and water bowls for your fur baby. Each staff member we encountered were friendly and attentive, the service was prompt and the food amazing.
Got seated right away at around 11am on a Thursday. Donaldo was a very attentive and very personable waiter with a good sense of humor. Portions are very generous. The strawberry Belgian waffle was topped with whole strawberries, strawberry syrup, fresh whipped cream and powdered sugar. Delish! Plus it came with 2 eggs and 3 strips of bacon!
Elmer's is our consistent breakfast choice when we visit Palm Springs on weekends. It's always bustling with both tourists and locals. Their menu offers a wide variety of delicious options. While our food took a bit longer to arrive this time, it was understandable given how busy they were. The Lemon German Pancake is undeniably the highlight, it's truly a showstopper and easily shareable for the whole table! We also enjoyed the Eggwhite Veggie Bowl with a side of serrano peppers, which was tasty and incredibly satisfying due to the generous portions. Elmer's is definitely a must-visit when you're in Palm Springs!
The food was amazing, I had the triple berry crepe and it was sooo good!! The condensed milk tasted like cheesecake and the fruit was perfect!! The whipped cream tasted very fresh and in general super good! I thought I was going to fall asleep mid way through my meal lol! Our waitress was super nice and gave my family extra fries!! The atmosphere is super beautiful it reminded a lot of the Tuscan style from the 2000s and our seats were super comfortable. 10/10 restaurant definitely recommend especially if you are visiting from the Bay Area because it’s very good and the menu had lots of options!
The food at Elmer's was delicious! The biscuits were so fluffy and tender. We had breakfast and it was delicious. The potato pancakes stuffed hash browns and a standard American breakfast. Best hash browns I have ever had. I can't wait to go back and have breakfast there. We were seated quickly a breakfast the customer service was fantastic and our food came out hot and correct. Just go eat. Pro-tip: Your entire party has to be present to be seated.
Wow! A Gem in the desert! Dropped into Palm Springs for a couple days to check out Joshua Tree National Park and found a gem. Now breakfast, you must really try to mess that meal up, but sometimes you find places above the rest. Not only did they serve the standard, their kitchen got creative too. From cinnamon roll pancakes, to German pancakes with Lingoneberry butter to Avocado Eggs Benedict. Offering fruit, over hash browns, kept it healthier. They were certainly not shy on the portion so bring your hunger. Service was amazing and attentive. About 16$ per person, without tip. A real gem in the desert! Enjoy!
Great food. Breakfast specialties that are worth the drive and the wait. It's usually very busy but they are quick with service so the wait is reasonable. Atmosphere is noisy, typical diner. We frequently stop here if we're in the area.
We stopped by Elmer’s on a weekday morning, and it was still pretty busy — had to wait a little, but totally worth it. The portions are big, perfect for sharing if you don’t eat a lot. I got their signature pancakes and they were so good — crispy on the outside, soft inside, with a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The only downside was the wait time and the staff seemed a bit rushed, but that’s expected when it’s this popular. If you’re not in a hurry, it’s definitely worth checking out.
This is one of our favorite spots for brunch in Palm Springs. The cheesy scrambled eggs and omelets are delicious. We had the Ranch breakfast with chicken apple sausage and the Farmer's omelet. Both were delicious. Pancakes and French toast are also great choices. It's too bad there is only one Elmer's in Cali.
The food is so awesome. Breakfast bowl just blew my husband away. Cheeseburger with bacon was so big it was hard to do 3 quarters of it. The bacon was so good. O ion ring are right up there with the best. I will be back
Didn't wait long for a table at all!!!! Busy place!!! The way they have the service is down is amazing!! Man, breakfast was delicious 😋 biscuit, was fluffy and tasty. My omelete was filled with plenty. Those hasbrowns were yummy!!! A must try place for breakfast, service was great and fast!!! We even took home strawberry french toast!!! Also, delish
Well worth the drive out from Morongo Casino. The best breakfast I have had during my vacation. Lovely Fluffy cheese omelette, super crunchy hash browns..and I am now a convert to "Dutch Baby" pancakes. Great service. Huge portions. Attentive staff. Thank you Elmers..you more than lived up to your Stella reviews!
Elmer's was busy with a wait list. So worth the wait, which was quite brief. The waitstaff here is so attentive that when my spouse asked for a to-go box, it was already on the table. The host stopped by every table to make sure guests were satisfied. Oh and everything was delicious, especially the new Monte Cristo Crepe.
Generous portions, excellent food and service! Visiting from out of town with family, my nephew found this spot on a Google search, I really wasn't feeling it until we got there! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed, quickly seated, and we had so much to choose from it was difficult to decide! Two of us split a prime rib meal and then also split another crepe meal. The waiter was so kind as to actually have the prime rib meal divided onto two plates! I feel that they went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome! The prime rib was yummy! Everything we ordered from potato cakes, to a cob salad, to the crepes and mashed potatoes, etc were all amazing! Definitely recommend coming in regardless of what you're looking for, breakfast, lunch, dinner! Of no, the seating was comfortable and not beat up, everything was clean including the bathrooms! Parking was easy and generous!
A great breakfast spot that’s busy and has an excellent feel of the Palm Springs vibe! I just had a green tea with lemon and honey along with a coffee. I had it on the patio and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. I’d love to get food here next time I stop by and customer service was great. I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.
There’s a reason Elmer’s is packed every weekend for brunch—it’s fantastic! We had to come back twice because it was so busy, but it was well worth the effort. Despite the crowds, service was quick and the atmosphere was buzzing. We ordered: • Belgian Waffles & Eggs Benedict: Classic, perfectly cooked, and delicious. • Grilled Fish Plate: Served with salad, fresh seared veggies and pilaf—a great savory option. The only this is i wish they would keep their restrooms a bit more tidy and restock the napkins but the food portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. We’ll definitely be back the next time we're in Palm Springs!
Visiting Palm Springs we stopped at Elmer’s for breakfast on our way out of town. This is a long established family style restaurant in the Palm Springs area. Bustling with locals and tourists alike, Elmer’s is a breakfast/luncheon spot for hungry folks. Famous for their German style pancakes and creative use of potato cakes, Elmer’s is a Palm Springs legend. Elmer’s is normally quite busy. Can be tough to park at prime times. But the restaurant is large with lots of indoor and outdoor patio seating. Service was very good and they move people through at a very good pace. Not rushed. But attentive with quick made to order cycle times delivering hot / fresh entrees. I was a little worried when we arrived at the size and bustle of the staff. But they did a great job taking our orders, serving, and keeping our coffee full. Very smooth process with great food. Prices are typically $18-$20 an entree for breakfast. - which is unfortunately becoming the norm. The servings are large. Consider sharing if you are not big eaters.
No wait for breakfast seating. Incredibly polite and friendly staff. Very prompt service. We ordered loaded hash browns, hungry rancher breakfast, and the cinnamon rolls pancakes. Everything was very delicious and filling. Portions size are very generous. The highlight was the cinnamon roll pancakes!!!! They should be illegal! We are already to come back tomorrow to order them again. I highly recommend Elmer’s restaurant for breakfast!!
Tried the breakfast combo with their potato pancakes, which our kind waitress recommended. Wow – so good! No other words to describe it. Loved this spot, and can't wait to come back when I'm visiting Palm Springs again in the future.
Came here as we were traveling back home. Was recommended by a friend and said the food was good. We went there and the food was amazing! The staff were friendly and you felt at home there. Definitely my new go too spot when we go to Palm Springs.
My go to diner in Palm Springs. I ordered steak and eggs this time and the steak came out juicy at medium.
Loved the whole experience! Tried the cinnamon Pancakes and they were absolutely delicious! They come along with egg and hash browns which were awesome too!! Coffee and orange juice tasted amazing as well!! Both my wife and me were stuffed with just one order as the quantities are huge! The staff was very polite and offered to split up the food in to two plates in the kitchen itself so that we both can eat comfortably!
GREAT attentive service! Even when the place is packed. Food arrived quickly & arrived hot. Google review said price range $10-20 but most menu items cost a shade under $20. Add drinks, etc, more like $30 per person. When we arrived told to expect 20-30 minute wait, but got seated immediately after asking about outdoor options.
Huhh 😮💨😮💨 I understand why it’s so busy.. it’s A M A Z I N G Couldn’t choose between the dishes because everything seems absolutely delicious. Heaven for your stomach, believe me. Service also friendly and what a nice detail when the owner lovely Jackie comes by to chat with you 😌 We will be back definitely. Thank you!
Stopped by this place on Labor Day looking for breakfast on the drive home from the weekend. Absolutely loved it! Stuffed hash browns were great, and it's unique to find a place with German pancakes which is a favorite of my wife's. Also family friendly and kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes.
Want to have breakfast any time of the day? Had to Elmer's. An iconic place in PS for a long time. Nice people. Service was good and can get busy. There are other dishes besides breakfast and I am sure there is something for everyone. Wanted to try the famous German pancake. There are three to choose from. Not your traditional pancake batter either. Can only describe as a Yorkshire pudding of sorts. It is good. Give them a shot.
Had a lovely brunch at Elmer’s with my sisters! The service was excellent—very attentive and warm. Our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and very family-friendly, with lots of smiles and good energy all around. A great spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal. We'll definitely be back!
A Classic Gem! Elmer’s is such a great spot for breakfast and lunch! The place gives off that cozy, vintage diner vibe that instantly feels welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious – hearty, flavorful, and the portion sizes are generous. You definitely won’t leave hungry! The service also stands out – the waiters are incredibly patient, friendly, and make sure you’re well taken care of. Their customer service is top-notch, which really adds to the whole experience. If you’re looking for a place with great food, nostalgic charm, and outstanding service, Elmer’s is a must-try!😋
Elmer’s in Palm Springs is a hidden gem that feels like a warm hug and a hearty meal rolled into one. I came in for a quick bite and ended up discovering one of the best comfort dishes I’ve had in a long time — the Chicken Fried Steak Bowl. Perfectly crispy, tender steak, smothered in rich country gravy, laid over a bed of fluffy mashed potatoes and veggies — it’s the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. Pure comfort food bliss. Portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere has that classic diner charm that just makes you want to stay a while. If you’re in Palm Springs and want something satisfying and soulful, don’t miss the Chicken Fried Steak Bowl at Elmer’s. Trust me, it hits the spot!

SO GOOD ! Wonderful breakfast and amazing service! Had the German pancakes and our server made some great recommendations on how to eat them, lemon syrup berries and it was like a little piece…
What a pleasant diner! German Pancake is a must! I came here because my friend wouldn’t stop raving about this place. So we came in around 10:30 AM on new year’s day. The place was super packed but we actually got a table in less than 30 minutes. The service was still friendly and attentive. My friend and I both ordered medium Steak and Eggs. Unfortunately both our steaks were unevenly cooked. Dry and well done except for a bite or two at the center of the steak, where it was approaching medium well stage. But what they really excel at, and the real reason we went there were for the German Pancakes. That one did not disappoint. It’s marvelous and even people leaving the restaurant would stop to talk to us about it. I will definitely try the savory version of the pancake my next time here! So to sum it up, come here for the German Pancake with an abundant dose of friendly and good service!
Before we headed out, we heard that they will be some wait, as they are very popular. We got there and they had lots of people waiting inside and outside… but we were ready and willing for the wait. We were excited when they finally called our name! The inside was packed, even though they had a good amount of seating. For the first breakfast item, we chose Country Cousin Skillet. It looked a bit small, I was expecting something bigger, but it was certainly filling. The fluffy egg and cheese was cuddling chicken-fried steak, which was on a bed of flavorful hash brown and veggies. It was a perfect comfy food, great breakfast item when you want something solid and satisfying. For the second item, we went with the German Pancake Combo. There was an option to add fruit topping of your choice for additional $1, so we added cinnamon apple. It was a very interesting dish. The first and most impressive thing about this German Pancake is its size…it is HUGE! But, it is quite thin, like a crape. Because of that, it was not that much when it came to the portion as a whole. The pancake had a nice sweetness to it, soft and fluffy. The service was good, everyone moved very quickly to keep up with the crowed. We had a good breakfast here, tasty, affordable with welcoming staffs. I am glad we got to visit Elmer’s, we see the reason why they are so popular. Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
Nice family restaurant with an old fashioned American feel. Not hip and cool... But authentically weathered in an inviting way. I had a giant German Pancake 🥞... Which was delicious... And my son had the 🍔 Burger. He enjoyed it. My husband had the Reuben sandwich which he liked a lot. I would have given it 5 stars but the service was very slow in the day we went.
Very solid breakfast diner right near Downtown Palm Springs. The sweeter breakfast options are very good but the eggs left a little something to be desired. Everything was very acceptable food wise. Nothing was bad, but not a lot stood out either, though their portions are very generous. The service was exceptional both times I went. If you're looking to get a solid plate of pancakes or French Toast, this is the place to go, especially because they serve breakfast all day and night.
Good place for good sized portions at decent price. Service was attentive. Hash browns could spend more time on the grill. A little short on hollandaise sauce but it tasted home made!
Good breakfast spot. Was told about the German pancakes. They were delicious. The picture on the menu is smaller than they come. All other food is good. I would compare to black bear diner
Visited again this time 1/28/26 We had the same server Sergio and just like last time he was excellent. He was very kind, friendly and professional. My wife had a Lingonberry crepe and she really loved it. A friend came with us and he got the stuffed hash browns which looked awesome and that's what I had last time. This time I decided I'd have something different so I went with the buttermilk biscuits breakfast and while the gravy used was absolutely just incredible I have to say I was really disappointed in regards to the biscuits specifically which were hard as a rock and I had to cut them with a knife which even that was actually a struggle lol. I did have a side of a stuffed hash brown. I chose not to say something I didn't want to come off picky but I wouldn't recommend those biscuits. (Original review from March 30th, 2025) We had an absolutely amazing experience here. The server we had was Sergio and boy I think we got lucky with who was the server because he was excellent. He made sure we had plenty of coffee ☕ and his service was top tier. It was my wife's birthday and he made sure to bring a small free crepe for her. That guy is awesome. Now onto the food wow that was amazing. I had the stuffed hash browns breakfast and my wife had the potato cakes which wow both were incredible. Usually these cafes do not have good coffee but this one uses delicious coffee from Northwest Lodge Blend Coffee a coffee company based in Portland, Oregon I think. The coffee was great I was quite impressed. Overall if you are looking for good service, good food, good prices and most importantly great coffee ☕ this is the spot to go.
I've been here multiple times, it's my mom's favorite joint. I flew into town to visit here. I brought her here for dinner. She had a hamburger and I had their Dungeoness Crab salad. Both were very solid. The salad had tons of crab meat, which was surprising. Our waiter was friendly. It's definitely a local joint that has been around forever.
My first encounter entering was with Luis, not very smiley and certainly not very friendly, a shame. Luckily Claudia made up for it, super friendly, efficient and helpful. I had pancakes with strawberry and the were delicious, huge portions, no one will leave here hungry !!!
It's a fast paced restaurant the food was underwhelming and ok. Nothing crazy about this place but somehow packed every Sunday. Line is out the door. Parking in street if you're smart. The service was OK i think my server had tables on the other side of the restaurant. But we were in and out so fast.
Would have easily been 5 stars except for the server. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of options, and everything looked delicious. I was happy that anything could be ordered a la carte, since all of the breakfast plates included eggs, and I didn’t want to pay for eggs I wasn’t going to eat. The cinnamon roll pancake was amazing and tasted exactly like a cinnamon roll in pancake form. Cooked perfectly. Bacon and sausage were also cooked perfectly. Hash browns were great also. Only issue was the waiter, who never refilled our drinks. He brought more coffee to the other tables around ours but ignored us, and we couldn’t get his attention.
No wait on a Wednesday morning. Service was fast and friendly. Food was great. Everything from classic diner to elevated diner. Atmosphere is old school dinner but for rich folks. Feels like an institution of the local area.
I had a craving for pancakes so I went to this iconic diner. Inside it was a little little bit dated, but the pancakes were great and so was the bloody Mary. They did a traditional German style with mixed berries, and I like that the combo came with eggs and sausages as well, so you have a nice plate of sweet and savory. It is a little bit expensive though but nice for a treat.
Parking: plenty of open parking. Food: German pancake or 'Dutch baby' was great. This is what breakfast should be. Breakfast doesn't need to be fancy or have a unique twist. Why is finding a good Biscuit and gravy so hard? Staff: super helpful and fast. Didn't feel rushed, felt welcomed there.
An old fashioned place with a solid 60-year history. The Baby Dutch Pancake alone worth the price of admission ($2 extra gets you two eggs any way you like them and ham or bacon or sausage. The family-founded company prides itself rightfully on using phenomenal vendors in the northwest. A rustic atmosphere, conveniently located. The service is spotty but the prices are practical.

Classic breakfast restaurant that expanded to cover lunch and dinner. Prime rib very good as was the fish and chips. Friendly service. Unusual Dungeness crab salad.
Went there with a group of 5 and no one like this place. This place was extremely overpriced and the food was just OK. Very disappointing expecting something much nicer.
Excellent, great quality, and tasty. Service was OK. The portions are big, please take that in mind. The German Pancake is a must do. parking is on the lot or the street nearby. Can be busy, go ear…

Drove all the way from orange county for brunch - we love going on long drives and we really enjoyed Elmer's the first time we were there. This time, eh... not so great. Service was lackluster. Food less than great. And they were out of things at 11am on a Friday. No excuse. Won't be our destination again.
We had misunderstanding about ordering, and maybe it was partially our fault, but I don't think you should then argue with us, and then send a manager over to tell us again that we are wrong, and then tell us that if we want what we thought we ordered, it would take 20 to 25 minutes longer. Jeeze, it's just breakfast. Completely bad vibe....and I hardly ever, ever, ever write negative reviews.
This place is always full but I don't totally understand that. It's a nice diner but there is nothing light and healthy on the menu. That said, they will make your food as you wish, it's just that I expected more given how many people seem to like it.

We came here while in Palm Springs due to the reviews. Well, I can't say anything other than the reviews are wrong. the menu is terrible, the wost selction of items we had ever seen. It took 25 minutes and we still couldn't find anythjng to order. No appetizers at all and the rest of the menu is very unappealing. Ended up having drinks and left to eat elsewhere. Server wasn't very good and the overall ecperience was the worst we had while dining in PS. Won't be back
So I went into breakfast by myself. After a good hike, they seated me inside and I asked to be seated outside after they came and brought me water. They said, sure, after that I sat for about 30 seconds, oh there was also a single man sitting out there with a dog also,a woman I can only assume was the manager came out and told me that they were going to refuse service because I went outside after they had seated me outside. She asked me then if I had money.I showed her the money in my wallet and told her that I've been insulted and I refused to eat there now.I don't know why they the they Refused me service , i'm going to post a picture of what I look like , you guys draw your own conclusions. And to be fair, I didn't handle the situation graciously graciously, I called her a current and smashed out. Then I went pulled out a 1000 dollars out my account went back and showed it to her, I should have made her count. And told her they should not judge a book by it cover. I didn't stink I showered clean clothes I honestly don't I wasn't rude or acting shady. I honestly don't know what that lady's problem was.
