Il Portichetto is a wonderful place just above Lake Como with spectacular views, fantastic on-site restaurant and the atmosphere of an Italian village walking on cobblestones to our room. About 100 meters away is a garden and castle that wonderful views of Lake Como and history. Thank you Rita, Rosanna and Pippo (the dog) for being gracious hosts!
Great experience. A great place, away from the usual tourist crowds. The food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is warm and the restaurant has an authentic charm full of character. The people are fiendly and make you feel truly comfortable. Next year we're coming back.
Great food …service was excellent … price was good too
Perfect light lunch with a refreshing drink after the steep climb to the castle. Quality of the food was exceptional, rrasonabky priced and a lovely local beer served.

It was such a lovely cozy experience to have dinner hear! The restaurant is set in a little alleyway and the staff welcomes you like you are family; so nice! The food was very good, we had the gnocchi & the spring beef serloin, along with the housewine! We absolutely loved it. ❤️
Had a great dinner here. The bruschetta and the trout were especially good. Two of the best dishes I’ve had in Italy. I will be back tomorrow.
This was a wonderful surprise of a tiny restaurant, which I ate at every night for a week. I enjoyed the outdoors of the restaurant more than the indoors. You can make a reservation which guarantees you a table (indoor or outdoor). I enjoyed practicing my Italian with the staff, and they were kind in helping me! Some locals eat here and some tourists. Most people dined here multiple times, and to my knowledge, this is the only restaurant in Vezio. For a comparison, I ate in many restaurants in Varenna and other towns in the Lake Como area. Although the food portions were larger in Varenna and other towns, the service was much better here. I was never treated disrespectfully as a "tourist", which happened consistently in other areas. If you are a tourist, be aware this is a tourist area, so prices comparatively higher in the Lake Como area as a standard. People that walk up to Vezio also enjoy grabbing a snack, a fruit smoothie, or an adult beverage, as this is the first place they come to after climbing the steep 20 min. climb from Varenna. I'd like to thank the owners, who took time to talk to me, other couples, and families, showing kindness by asking about our days and being friendly. That's the true spirit of being Italian, and I thank you.
In a lake full of tourist traps this place is a real jewel. The food is delicious, prices are fair and Cristina and her staff are super kind and welcoming. It’s a nice 15 minutes walk from/to Varenna and absolutely worth it!
Must stop!!! Don’t eat at the castle eat here!!! What a pleasure it was to have lunch here. The food, atmosphere, and service was amazing! Everyone was so kind and spoke English very well. Highly recommend stopping here for lunch or for a drink on your way to the castle! I would definitely go again!
We went to Castello di Vezio,and when we finished, we had dinner here. It is with reservation only.My favorite thing was the steak and the wine! Great service, very pleasant dinner

Great find!!! We are staying in Varenna and headed up the mountain to Venzio and found this great restaurant. Staff is super friendly, atmosphere is quaint in this little village, and food was great! We had local perch with rice, a meat tray with vegetables, and the grilled sausage. Everything was very good. The only negative was a cover charge per person but it was lower than in Cinque Terre.
Restaurant and Porch hotel was a beautiful stay in Varenna. Highly recommend the cappuccino and croissant in the little restaurant. Only thing to beware of is you will most likely need a car if trying to explore the other areas of Lake Como.

A perfect hidden gem in Perledo. The food was absolutely divine (especially the local fish dishes) and service was impeccable. A very cosy, homely atmosphere and lovely people.

I was stir crazy to get out of varenna so we hiked up here, hoping for less touristy food. It was not worth it. I’m actually shocked at how good the ratings are on here because the food was truly ter…
Tiny portions and can’t compare with other Italian restaurants. We had way better handmade pasta with Truffles in bigger sizes for cheaper in Italian restaurants in Germany.
Would give 3.6 but can’t give four. Wine was great, olive oil in packets, and gnocchi was over done.
Quite a disappointment! Although meals seem inexpensive for the area, portion sizes are small with very few toppings. The "daily meal" poke bowl was the worst: cost 14€ and had only a few crumbs of fish (almost couldn't tell there was any). Not authentic and very overpriced for the poor quality of the food. It's normal to have higher prices in popular areas, but this is definitely a tourist trap and certainly doesn't meet Italian standards.
Unacceptable service. My husband and I wanted to order lunch for our very hungry 2 year old daughter. We also orderd 1 drink per person and a meal for my husband. We were refused service because I didn't want to eat anything and they only accept patrons who order one meal per person. We were sitting in an otherwise empty restaurant, so we weren't blocking a table from other higher paying patrons. Very disappointing and not family friendly. In a tiny village without other food options nearby unacceptable.
