I want to start by saying that this was an overall good experience. Starting with the host team Emmie & Ashley. They were very welcoming, friendly and professional. They made the check in process easy and loved their energy. The service itself was okay. Don’t like to critic too hard, but the server just seemed to be off. He did his job, just seemed like he was in a bad and dry mood. The food was good, but oddly sweet. The fried pickles had a sweetness to them, as did almost everything we ate and drank. The salmon had a good taste, but overcooked. The rice was very synthetic tasting. Microwaved rice in a bag vibe. The baked potato was a little sad. The steak was cooked perfectly! It was sooooo delicious and juicy along with the shrimp. 🍤 perfect cook on both.

Completely shocked by this amazing restaurant. Traveling back to the Austin area for work and wanted a cozy, warm atmosphere with a variety of menu choices. I prepared myself for the inevitable long wait and pricey meals but wow, was I pleasantly surprised! 6pm on Friday and had a 15 minute wait. Place was bustling but the staff was hopping. Extremely bubbly and attentive server, food and drinks came out quickly but never felt rushed even though I was distracted catching up w my best friend, before deciding what to order. Mexican Martini was perfectly balanced sweet and sour, spinach dip w pita bread AND tortilla chips was a nice split. Trout was ok but they gave me an option to add some fried shrimp on the side since I couldn't make up my mind. Those were amazing and the dill tartar sauce, yummmm. Oh and y'all, these are THROWBACK prices!!! Highly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended by a guest of mine (I am in hotel management) and it didn’t disappoint. Everything from food to prices absolutely amazing. But the most amazing part of our Experience was our server, Taylor. She truly knows how to make you feel welcome. She was always attentive, helpful and beyond friendly. My wife and I will come again and make sure we ask for her section. I can now and will recommend this location and restaurant to my guests.

I absolutely a LOVE this place. The good is to die for, the service is great and the prices..... My goodness. The prices are the best part! So inexpensive for a grill house. 10/10 When I ordered the baby back ribs I was expecting only 3/4 ribs.... I got eight! 10/10

Ms Lisa is the manager and took care of us on one occasion when we came in w/ family and a baby. we had a reservation but, because we had the baby, seating was tricky due to larger parties already there. we did have to wait as a result however, she did her best to keep an eye out for a table to accomodate the seating for the baby. we have always enjoyed the food here and it is fresh and well-flavored. highly recommend.

We drove from Bastrop to eat dinner with friends from Pflugervile for my wife's birthday. Avid, the Manager, went above and beyond to provide an amazing birthday experience for her!!! Staff is amazing, and for the price, food is delicious. I always get the steak and chicken tenders with broccoli and fries. This is not on the menu, but it allows me to have a steak and my kids eat the chicken!!! Definitely a Plugerville must!!!

Sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and personable and made some darn good mexican martinis. The Firecracker Chicken Tacos were excellent. This place never disappoints.

This place exceeded all our expectations. They accommodated the 13 of us without hesitation. The drinks and food were delicious. It was our last meal together as family vacation was coming to an end and everyone was going separate ways. They enjoyed everything and had no leftovers. After a day of walking around the zoo the cocktails were wonderful and the Pain Killer was delicious. We'll be back next time we're in town. Our server was outstanding. She handled everything with a smile and as graceful as I've ever seen.

Great atmosphere...all the staff was cheerful and attentive. The food was amazing. The stuffed shrimp was so good, and everything was well balanced with flavor. I don't know how the prices are this reasonable. I can not wait to come back and try more of their delicious food! To the cooks and staff in the kitchen, thank you for a wonderful meal!!

I’m traveling and stopped here. Salmon, and Sirloin were exceptional. I absolutely loved the side salad. The atmosphere is great, very clean with high end vibe. Bar area has TVs, we were able to watch the football games. The server was also very attentive. Definitely a great choice.

The food was solid, can't really say great or anything special. But for the price, you can hardly beat this place. I sat at the bar, and the staff was friendly and professional. I ate the sirloin and shrimp. Steak was cooked correctly, but not much flavor. The baked potato was... a baked potato. Green beans were ok. I'm a bit of a food snob, so I don't know as I will return any time soon.

Wow, what a wonderful surprise and experience before seeing a movie! The excellent service was only heightened by the delicious homemade food. I cannot say enough good things about FD's Grillhouse. I had never been until I wanted to plan an event here. I liked the good location, that is what drew me in, but it is the amazing prices, stellar service and delicious food that will bring me back as a regular customer. It is rare today to have all three top-notch (price, food, service) in one restaurant nowadays, but I was impressed. For my event, the whole team were a delight to work with, and were very accommodating, I expect to plan more events here in the near future!

This place is legit from food, price, service, and menu options. The baby back ribs literally fell off the bone. The cole slaw was great. And the one dessert they have, key lime pie was WOW - a golden nugget.

Food absolutely delicious and pricing is very cheap. Nice elegant atmosphere staff is very professional and fast service. Try the moscato wine.

OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!!!!!! Atmosphere, food, and my food/bar attendant “Sam” was EVAH-RAH-THANG!!! Top tier customer service and real chill vibes! I had the FD Combo where you can choose any (3) with two sides; so, I chose Salmon, Grilled Shrimp, and Cornmeal Catfish with the Buttery Mashed Potatoes and Coleslaw. Everything was hot, fresh, and seasoned to PERFECTION!!! Normally, I ration my food but beeeeeybay - I CLEARED THE PLATE!!! The restaurant is SUPER CLEAN with affordable prices. I absolutely LOOOOOOVE the diversity of the crowd and staff. I definitely will return, and I appreciate Sam for making my 1st experience there absolutely AH-MAAAAAAZING!!!

Wow, very well prepared, fresh, flavorful food! We dined in and felt the server and restaurant followed careful safety measures (no noses sticking out of masks and care with seating, plate handling, etc). Also, server was one of the most polite and attentive servers we have ever had. Prices very reasonable and the key lime pie is the real deal. Wish we had this restaurant in Dallas, would go here often!

The salmon was amazing and the broccoli was perfectly steamed. Having a half lemon wrapped in gauze made the broccoli and fish even better. Excellent meal at a reasonable price.

We love FD’s! Never disappoints and so many options on their menu. The salmon was so delicious! It was cooked perfectly and the sweet sauce paired deliciously drizzled on top.

This is a great place! The food is awesome. Great upscale look. Great staff. But the prices are the real winner. You can't find the whole package like this with these prices very often. This place is a gem. The firecracker shrimp is a personal favorite and the tilapia is crazy good. Can't imagine there is any way to go wrong here. Need to come back and spend some time at the cool looking bar.

I came in on a Saturday simply wanting a steak and a good night with friends. However, I became completely charmed by the warm atmosphere, from the fine decor to the friendly waiters and waitresses. And the food, fantastic is all I can say about their sirloin steak. Their firecracker shrimp was definitely among my top five shrimp dishes of all time. Their prices are also incredibly affordable. I mean, $18 10oz steak!? In this economy!? I've seen plenty of restaurants serve the same for twice that amount. Lastly, one of the co-owners of this branch, Lisa, came to our table and had a conversation with us. It's the first time I've talked with such a down-to-earth restaurant owner. She was very nice to talk to, and I could really feel her attention to keeping the price-point down to make regulars and first time consumers alike feel at ease to just enjoy a meal and have a good time. For sure, I'll be back again. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a great meal experience.

It's been awhile since going to FD's, and I think it was shortly after the name change. We walked in, and it appears to have been remodeled. The decor is nice and inviting, a breath of fresh air from what I believe to remember as the old decor. I decided on the classic fish and chips, breaded ever so lightly but amazingly tasty. Our server Joseu was slightly late upon our seating but quickly recovered. After a round of golf...this was a good stop. Not to forget our hostess yesterday at 1pm...she was great as well.

This place is awesome! I usually get the 10 oz center cut top sirloin.This time I opted for the top sirloin and gulf shrimp. Comes with a baked potatoe and a side, grilled or fried shrimp. My date had the ribs! They where delicious, fall of the bone goodness. Definitely the go to spot for a nice dinner.

The food and drinks are AMAZING!!! My hubby and I stop here when we are in Austin from Ft Hood. I normally get the ribs or shrimp and catfish basket. Sooo much food and the coleslaw is the best! My hubby had the 10oz sirloin m/r and said it was very tender. I tried the Mexican Martini...10 out of 10. I'm hooked. I also had the 3 sample margaritas..forget the actual name but very delicious. Hubby had the Long Island Ice Tea and said it was the best he ever had... We will always stop here when in Austin.

So glad we found this place. Excellent flavor, outstanding service and the wait was 1/4 the time compared to the larger restaurant next door. Two visits now and we really look forward to going back.

I read the reviews and looked at the pics before reluctantly trying it for the first time. The reviews are right. It was excellent. I had ribs with sweet potato fries, that were actually crunchy! The price was good too. I took a pic, hoping others like me want to see food as good as others say it is. Cole slaw was good too!!!

Great experience! Atmosphere is nice, little crowded and loud on a Friday night but otherwise delightful. The steak was seasoned nicely and the blackened shrimp was good. Highly recommend the sweet potato side (served Friday - Sunday). They also have a tasty peach tea. My wife days they have the best key lime pie anywhere.

First time trying this spot after a neighboring restaurant had a 2 hour and 20 min wait. We are glad that we came to FD’s. Restaurant was full but the line wasn’t out the door and the wait wasn’t long at all. Must be the location that doesn’t drive more volume. It sure was tasty! We had the bourbon glazed salmon and the steak and shrimp. I added a side of the bourbon glaze to dip my steak just to give it a little extra punch of flavor to an already tasty steak. Normally I add nothing to my steak but I count resist that sweet bourbon glaze. The Mexican martini on the side was perfect. Smooth and delicious. I will definitely come back.

I had eaten at this location several years ago and boy what a change. I was greeted with a smile and quickly given a table. The service was a little slow but he was the bartender and a little busy. As a former restaurant employee, I understood. I got the combo meal and had plenty of food. It was nice and hot and very delicious. The drink was also very good. Prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

First let me say this…me and husband pulled in the parking lot (thinking we were going to Cheddars) but realized we were at this restaurant - FD’s Grill House, so we said “let’s give it a try”. And FD’s Grill House did not disappoint! The food was delicious and it was reasonably priced! And our server, Camry was amazing!!! And we loved the atmosphere! One of the best restaurants I've been to in a very long time. Friendly service and seating first thing walking into the door had me already happy to eat here. I've never been an appetizer person but we had the crispy pickles, SO good, and not stingy with the ranch! Then the food O M G it was indescribable. Everything was so fresh, hot, seasoned, and delicious. We had the nashville hot chicken, and fd's special. Even the sweet tea was good. I can't wait to go again. We are out of town. And me and my husband wanted a good place for seafood. The food did not disappoint. Only bad thing is we ate the cocktail with no avocado. On vacation by myself and didn't want to do the whole public thing so I called in a order for pickup. Got the 7oz sirloin with grilled shrimp, whipped potatoes, and green beans. I picked it up right on time and the atmosphere seemed nice while I was in there. Very upper mid level and cozy. My hotel was on the other side of the highway so I got to it quick. The star of the show was definitely the green beans. Lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. The potatoes were good (nothing to write home about). The shrimp and steak were seasoned great! My only issue was I ordered my steak rare and it was more on the medium well side. I figured being in Texas every steak had to be a mandatory medium rare. It still had good flavor to it though. Everything said and done if I lived in the area I would try again. If not just for the sides alone. I could eat those green beans all day.

Clean, great service. The food was well done but I was surprised at how small the shrimp were, expected more. That steak was good, but not high level good.. more like mid grade meat. So they did a great job making flavorful food and did well with the degree of cooking (mine medium and my partner medium rare) but the quality of the cut they begin with wasn't as great as I thought it would be. I imagine their chicken is good but we had steak and shrimp. Id try them again in the hopes I had an off day as the services really was great and ultimate flavors good.

Update: I ordered the Mahi Mahi plate, plus my husband paid extra for two orders of asparagus. They overcooked my Mahi Mahi; and told us they always cook it that way. It was rubbery. It's not suppose to be over cooked! And, they only gave us four thin asparagus spears. Really? The shrimp on top of the fish, it's rice, and mashed potatoes were fine, but the sauce and onion rings were very salty. The best part was the starters; the hand made (15 minute) onion rings, and the spinach dip.

We went here for the first time last night and was really pleased with the food and service. I ordered the Trout+shrimp. My sides were broccoli and whipped mashed potatoes. The trout was fantastic. Perfectly grilled and had excellent flavor. Shrimp was also quite tasty. The potatoes were delicious, but I wasnt a huge fan of the broccoli. Too soft for me, was a bit mushy. I like my broccoli more aldente. I wish you could give 1/2 stars on here or I'd give the place 4.5. Broccoli was my only "complaint". Our server was excellent and overall we were very pleased. Definitely be going back. Well done FD's.

Nice atmosphere food was delicious. Had the trout and gulf shrimp with red beans and rice and wife had the gulf shrimp. Fish was done beautifully, our appetizers were calamari which was delicious the breading was light and had a nice buttery flavor. The marinara was very nice as well. The peppered bacon with brown sugar glaze is awesome.

FD's has alright food. They are usually busy, so call before you go. They have good space for friend groups. The staff is attentive and fast. Heads up, the drinks are strong and they only have one desert.

First time to dine at this place. There is a nice atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. There are options for everyone on the menu. I was looking to enjoy some scallops, but there were not on the menu. I enjoyed Firecracker Shrimp. They were delicious, could use a little spice for my taste. I also ordered the Grilled Shrimp meal. It came with French fries. I should have ordered some Hush Puppies. Would have been a better pair. The Manager came by the table to check up on us. Very good service and delicious food. I only gave it a 4-Star due to the ladies bathroom. It was not truly clean. I would recommend this place.

Food was GREAT. Our server, Christopher, was VERY polite, personable and professional. He recommended the crab and shrimp dip for out appetizer and it did not disappoint. The ribs, fried shrimp and garlic mashed potatoes were the BOMB DIGGITY. And THE ONLY reason I didn't give a 5 star, is because my blackened fish was a bit salty and with 2 of our entrees (one was ordered to-go, and the other was the ribs/shrimp), we ordered a baked potato and BOTH orders we got mashed potatoes. Didn't notice the to-go order didn't have the potatoe until we opened the bag at home. But the experience was good otherwise. I would still highly recommend this place. Vibe was good too.

I've been going to FDs since it first opened in 2003 as Fish Daddy's. It was great then and even though they changed management over the years they've continued to provide exceptional food and service at very modest prices. Upscale atmosphere and offerings at fast food prices. Fabulous! Don't forget to sample their bar menu. Delicious margaritas and house specials. Try the Dirty Arnold.😉 Update 8/9/2020: The menu has undergone some tweaking since my last visit a few weeks ago. Calamari is no longer available and a few other regular menu items have either disappeared or morphed into different offerings. Our waiter was also less than stellar on this outing, thus I am deducting 1star in my rating.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait time to be seated. My margarita was STIFF, just how I like it! Paid under $60 for everything pictured. 8/10 for me. We came here Friday evening and we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving at the restaurant. We did call ahead and say we were on our way. Our server was nice and visited our table a good amount of times. They did a good job of keeping our drinks filled. I ordered their lemon chicken salad and it was delicious. My husband ordered a steak and he liked it. He wished they offered corn as a side. I ordered some mashed potatoes as a side and they were yummy. We also wished they served complementary bread but the food was delicious and the service was good.

This was our third time eating here. The atmosphere inside is very nice and we were seated right away. The food was meh. My husband's steak was good, but mine was not. I order my steaks well done and I know that you can cook them well done without having them be dry as leather. Clearly the cook here does not know how to do that. My potato was under done, still crunchy in the center, and the broccoli was over done. Our service was terrible. This was the case the first time we ate there about a year ago too. On this visit, the waitress came over right away, brought our drinks, and then said she'd be right back to take our order but didn't come back for at least 25 minutes. When the food finally came out, my husband asked for a side of butter and never got it. The server didn't come back to ask if everything came out okay until we were about to take our last bites and even then she didn't remember that he had asked for butter. The prices here are pretty good but the service is awful. The table of 4 behind us waited 10 minutes for the server to go to their table and then ended up walking out because no one ever went to them. This place needs someone to go in and train the servers how to adequately rotate between tables.

Went here for dinner after a change of plans. We had been to the one in Tyler and really enjoyed it. This location, not so much. We were seated right away by what turned out to be the owner of the restaurant. We weren't sure if the hostess had called in or if this was normal, but we thought it was a nice touch. We looked over the menu and the server came to take our order. She had a really blah attitude towards everything. She really didn't seem to enjoy her job at all. I ordered one of the margaritas, which was crazy strong. I ordered some fried pickles, which were delicious. Served super hot and fresh. For my meal, I ordered a steak and requested it medium well. When they brought it to me, it was medium, if even that. We flagged down the guy who sat us (this is when we found out he was the owner) and said the steak was undercooked. He looked and said, oh yea, that's WAY undercooked. He said he'd have it fixed. Maybe 5 minutes later, our server brought me the steak back. Not only was it the SAME steak, it was nearly overcooked this time. We thought that with that mess up and knowing that the owner was aware of it, there would be at least some kind of compensation, offer for a free dessert, or something to make up for it. Nope! NOTHING! Full priced ticket and the owner didn't even come back to see if the steak was prepared right that time. I understand that mess ups happen, but what is important is how the restaurant (especially the owner), responds to that mess up. We definitely will not be going back to that location.

Food was really good, steak and shrimp was well cooked and perfectly seasoned. The service was unfortunately really bad. Discussed with my wife whether to undertip, decided not to because we'd like to go back, will just hope for a better waitress.

Good place for a casual dinner. There was a wait time but it was only a few minutes for my group of three. We did want to order the Fish & Chips but were unable to because they use the same fry oil for the fish & chips as they do for the shrimp(shellfish allergy). We instead got the Salmon and it was delicious as well as the steamed broccoli.

Good place for nice seafood options, fishes tasted fresh. But I felt everything was little exaggerated to make things taste nice - more salt, more butter, more oil. The service was great, the place is amazing as well. Wish they were lighter on the greasy side.

Had steak and shrimp. I'm not complaining about the food. After the 1st bite of the steak, I noticed a brunette colored hair on my knife. No one had brunette colored hair at my table. Totally ruined my appetite. I heard this place had the best food in Austin. I rarely get and was really looking forward to a good steak.

Unsavory business practices. I dined at this establishment with 3 others. We had separate checks, which we determined at the beginning with our server. My bill was $33.45. My debit card was “mistakenly” charged 3 separate charges that totaled $140.79. The charges were not even the price of my companions bills, just random charges. The manager was incredibly nonchalant about the matter and no one even offered an apology. I do not recommend this establishment.

As you can see the the portions are very small. This was $19 worth of food. It came out cold. I had to send it back and it still came out cool. This is shrimp and chicken tenders. As you can see there's more plate than food.
