I came to LA BARBACOA with my local Mexican friend. We are only here for the bar and drinks. This is not an unique bar like others on 5ta. However, the drinks will be more cheaper.

The service was a bit slow, which is understandable given it was a busy day, December 24th. However, the staff remained friendly. I really enjoyed the food. I will definitely return when I go back to Playa del Carmen.

The waiter forgot one of the dishes, and we ended up canceling because it arrived just as we were finishing the others. We had to ask for glasses because they brought the soda straight from the bottle. The quesadillas were bland and the cheese was cold. The best thing is that they accept cash, and the bill includes a 20% service charge.

Good food but the staff is not very friendly, no one smiles and they seem annoyed at every little request even for an ashtray, like eat, pay and get out of the way, ps: don't ask for fries as they don't make them and you risk getting a rude answer.

We ate some quesadillas, and the tortillas were wheat, not corn, which is an insult to Mexican cuisine. To top it off, the filling was bland and tasteless.

I heard about this place and went with a friend, it was the worst restaurant I've ever been to, a hair appeared in my consommé, the waiter claimed that it couldn't have been in the kitchen when the hair was in the meat, we ordered a drink and the waiter started talking to his colleague and forgot, and in the end they were still charging us more than 20% for the service, it was really terrible, I definitely wouldn't go back

DON'T EAT THERE!!! We went to La Barbacoa for our New Year's Dinner and were very disappointed. The table next to us left as soon as the waiter brought the food and the other two tables next to us complaint. $700 for this kind of food is a rip off. I feel this is disgraceful.
