They're fried zucchini is to die for, and most all of their food is still really good. I consider any fast food to be good if you can eat it and you don't have to hit the bathroom within an hour or less. If you can eat it and it stays down and stays put. Then the food is probably all right. Bad food to me is when you eat say a burger and 20 minutes later you have to go let it out in the bathroom. That's no good and I would no longer return to that food service or vendor. Hope this message finds you all well. God bless everyone

Burger dive of all burger dives I've been to. Nothing gourmet or fancy but is greasy and sloppy enough to get you right no matter how hard you drank. Had a pastrami burger, fries, onion rings, cherry coke, and a strawberry shake. I almost had a coronary but it would have been worth it and I'll definitely be back.

Good burgers, excellent chili and good service. Nice booths for the family with seating outside. The onion rings are thick and crispy. They have burritos and food besides the basic burgers dogs and fries. I have not had any long waits. The staff has been friendly. It has a 50s burger joint look. Good place for quick and filling meal for the whole family.

Best pancakes in L.A.!!! Great staff, good prices, wide variety of menu choices, and good location at the back entrance to Costco so you're not tempted to eat the BAD food at Costco's snack bar! There's a reason why they've been there so long. They're the BEST!

The chili cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries are amazing! The fries are super crispy and the burgers taste so good. Their onion rings are so crispy and delicious and the avocado burgers are also really good! I have only been there twice and they have not disappointed.

First time trying, had a huge chorizo breakfast burrito, that tasted great! The homestyle potatoes inside were good, I'll have to try them as a side to an omelet. I'll definitely be trying more of their menu too.

It's one of my favorite lunch places, usually to-go for me. Family owned (by Tom, no surprise), and they care about quality and consistency. Prices are reasonable. Food is not sitting ready to hand you, so this is not fast food, but wait is always reasonable. This location has a drive-through, which i regularly use; the Manhattan Beach location does not.

Went for breakfast as our hotel across the street did not have anything decent. Was relatively empty for 9 AM, but it started having more folks coming soon. The menu is amazingly diverse with lot of good choices. Food was quick to come out and was very well prepared. Our party of 6 had different items for breakfast and all of them turned out great. The staff was courteous and helpful.

Have been coming here for years. Great, great food! Not only is the quality superior to chain restaurants but the food has always been prepared well. Here you get food that comes out looking like the pictures! Great chili, great Greek salad! The feta cheese on the salad is excellent! Also a very good spicy chicken sandwich that comes on a fresh potato roll. Burgers, pastrami, burritos. They do it all.

I've only had the chilli cheese burger and it's delicious. If you had Original Tommy's this place holds its own with the chili cheese. I've not sat in to eat but they have outdoor dining and a drive thru if you don't want to get off. You can also order by phone (my favorite option)

I really enjoyed my breakfast burrito this morning. The ratio in favor of the eggs and sausage over hash brown potatoes was great. Starting to feel like my local restaurants stick the costumer with straight up potato’s. Would come back when in the area.

The food was delicious It was fresh and it tasted magnificent I parked in the parking lot and finished my chili cheeseburger and fries and my Cherry Coke. I got to say I feel great the place was great the food was fresh The meal was terrific. Will be traveling there again. Maybe on a regular. Because I definitely want to try their breakfast.

This was a surprise. After getting gasoline at Costco, I needed a bite to eat while on the run. This was certainly a surprise as the food was made to order - it took several minutes versus seconds, like the typical fast-food drive-thru. Yet, the wait was worth it as the food was tasty, newly cooked and prepared well. Produce was fresh and fries were toasty, not oily. Having this my first time, the menu was overwhelming - and many restauranteurs recommend sticking to smaller menu joints for the best quality. The rule may not apply here at Tomboy's - so I will be back to try additional menu items. Bag-to-go works well to eat behind the wheel, But ONLY while parked. This is hefty food stuff, so there was no need to drive while eating this. It's definitely not fast-food. The very nice lady who took our order with patience also served us with the utmost kindness - she gets 5 stars!

If you are in the mood for old school diner food you have come to the right place. The fries are utter perfection with the right amount of crisp and seasoned correctly. The burger is moist and hits all the right tastes. And then there's the pastrami sandwich, this thing is girthy so bring your appetite. I know I will have the meat sweats after this one, but it's so good. The decor is dated which lends to the old school diner ambience.

The variety of food and menu are big so there’s something for everyone including picky eaters like me. To be honest it might seem pricy but the portions and quality of the food make it worth it. 😊🎀

We had the Chorizo scramble and home style potatoes. Very delicious. During the weekend (unlike the normal weekday routine of ordering at the counter), you have a seat in their decent size dining area and the servers come and take your order. They also have a nice patio with umbrellas out front and a drive thru. Tomboy's have been at that location a long time, has nice clean landscaping, clean building, great (and friendly) servers. And their chili is thick, yummy, and a long time favorite.

Had both the chili hot dog and burger. Both were good but I actually preferred the hot dog. I would highly recommend. Good shakes as well. Oh, and the fries had this great seasoning on them. Almost ate them first! Definitely worth a revisit.

Crazy good burger joint! Pastrami Combo with Onion Rings is my go to. But I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed by anything on their menu. The place is always clean. The staff is great. Prices are reasonable. You'll leave smiling. Enjoy!

It was my 1st time eating there. A friend said she liked going there with her daughter. I ordered a cheeseburger combo with onion rings. It was $11.45 😮😮like Wow. My onion rings were extra crispy.

I had a double chili cheese burger combo. It is a bit pricey but a good hamburger. The cheese was plentiful & the chilli was thankfully not spicy. For the price, there should have been more french fries but, again, the hamburger was good.

Food selection is good they have a little bit of everything on the menu. A little pricey but it was worth it. The place is clean and people working there are helpful and friendly. It also has a drive thru and plenty of parking in the parking lot. Try the onion rings it's really good.

The breakfast is always good and so is their lunch and dinners. My favorite is the Fiesta Burrito (breakfast) and the Avocado Burger for lunch. I gave it a 4 because the Chili Cheese Fries are disgusting here. They taste like stale canned food. Other than that, its great.

I got the chili cheeseburger and onion rings. It was fantastic for fast food. Super greasy, bad for your health, and hard on the stomach - but it tasted great!

Out of town and saw this place across from where i was, so said id try it. Food here was fairly good, to be honest, but all I had was a grilled chicken sandwich no bun, chose to go with the protein style, wrapped in Lettuce. Did the combo, with fries and drink. Regarding the fries, I'm not sure if it was the oil or what, but they taste like they have some kind of cheesey coating, or maybe they were just oily in general, these fries aren't for everyone. For the drink, I was happy to see the Soda Water option, and it was very effervescent with the bubbles as it should be, I usually have a problem with this being flat at other places. Menu boards are back lit old school style, obviously they been around for a min, and gives that old burger joint feeling as you are reading it. Environment was clean and friendly staff, ill be back.

Really great Pastrami. For a dinner-type place they do things right. I am a creature of habit and haven't r explored the menu very much because their pastrami sandwich is really great. Very large portion, sliced Ulta-thin, in the middle price wise, and taste that is just about perfect. Lots of other things on the menu...... Try it!

First time having Tomboys, I was working down the street at Northrup Grumman on a project. There are some pricey restaurants in the area, I wasn't looking to go that route. This place was located near a transit center, so can be a convenient option for those traveling city transportation. Serves American and Mexican breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings, pretty much a typical hamburger joint. I was supposed to find they also sell pizza there, an unusual offering for a place like this. I have a bacon hamburger, which comes with bacon, crisp iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, white onion, pickles and 1000 island sauce. Served on a toasted bun. Shoestring style french fries seasoned with a Lawry's type seasoning salt. Overall the burger in my opinion was fresh and tasty served as is, you may opt out to some of the ingredients, such onions, as I do occasionally 🤣. The drive thru is a little narrow, so if you are driving a bigger vehicle, be careful or park and go inside. My friend in Chevy Silverado drove over the curb. ♿ Handicap parking and entrance.

The pics before I devoured my Chili Dog and French Fries lol 😂. This is from Tomboy’s Famous Chili Hamburgers on Marine Ave in Lawndale, CA. I was craving a chili dog today for some strange reason, so I ended up eating lunch there today. Tomboy’s has one of the best Pastrami sandwiches in California. I also highly recommend their Onion Rings. Their French Fries are seasoned with Seasoning Salt and are a hit with any sandwich you decide to get from their menu. I’ve been coming for many, many years and their food is always prepared fresh and hot. They have a nearby location in Manhattan Beach on Manhattan Beach Blvd, just west of Aviation Blvd.

The lettuce in the burger was wilted the milkshake didn't taste like a real milk product. If you love Tommy's chilli it's definitely identical. Staff was friendly place was clean.

This place has amazing turkey sandwiches, burgers, and fries. But the people taking the order through the drive-thru seem a little...slow or maybe distracted. For instance, today I ordered a sandwich with French Fries and a drink and had to explain to the guy 3 times that I wanted regular fries and not curly fries.

Looks old and dingy inside. Food was OK (at best). The chili is pretty equivalent to Hormel in a can (your call as to whether you like that or not). Pretty old looking inside. Prices are a bit higher for the quality and quantity of food served.

I ordered a single cheeseburger combo, replaced the fries with onion rings, and got a large drink. Then, I decided to try the chili dog. Total was $23! The chili dog was delicious and truly sloppy. Bring the napkins. The cheeseburger was 3 inches high. Unfortunately, the burger patty was an extremely small part of this. Reminded me of a single patty in a Big Mac. Two inches was lettuce. If you get a cheeseburger, you will need to get a double since my taste buds could not register any meat. The amount of onion rings were huge; enough for three people. Their taste was fine. Overall, I was shocked at the price and thought the burger was a throwaway. If you go, get the chili dog.

I really wanted to enjoy this place. I ordered the pastrami but it soaked the bread and way to stacked and wife the burger. I ships have tried their chili as this is their claim to fame. 3 stars but will return to give them a second shot.

Kind of divey and service is a bit slow. The staff was super friendly though! The pastrami was really dry, chewy, and salty but the chili dog was good. I'd recommend sticking to the more basic items when you go.

We went here because the reviews said the food was great. I can not say I agree. The chili cheese fries were no where as others described them. The chili did not taste all that great and the service is pretty slow also. I would say you should probably pass this place up.

Never order breakfast here. The prices are way overpriced. They tried to charge me $13 for a breakfast burrito and drink. Now I understand the breakfast. I was going to have two kinds of needs but I didn't know it was going to cost 3 extra dollars just to add bacon. I have never paid that much for a breakfast burrito and drink in the morning. If if I never go back it would be for lunch never again for breakfast. And that's if I decide to go back.

Bought the Double Chili Cheese Burger. The Burger and Chili had no flavor. The Patty's were thin and could barely taste the Cheese. The Burger was small for$9.69 .this was the first an last time for me.i'm not going back!!

Usually a place is a hit or miss, and for me it was a miss. I used to come here sometimes with my mom when we were in town running errands. It was a great place to stop and have a burger at before heading off to Costco or target or any of the other stores in the area. We just so happen to be in the area and decided to give it a try, we hadn’t been at the restaurant in several years. Our breakfast entree choices fell flat. The quality just wasn’t there. I ordered the 222 breakfast and the sausages weren’t good at all; they were hard and dry. The bacon strips were cold, a bit soggy, and a little grey looking. In the past, the burgers were really good. I don’t know what that looks like now but I felt that was worth mentioning. They have a nice patio that’s outdoors.

I'm not sure I can agree with famous. I few points to make is it was dead in this restaurant and that tells alot of the story. I ordered a double chili burger. It was hot and the toppings fresh. But the meat is frozen processed beef that gives off that wonderful gray tone of a frozen thin beef patty (see pictures) as a reference. The only thing here the shoe string fries they were hot and crisp. I couldn't say anything for the chili burger other than I would pass on another one. The atmosphere here was pretty non existent. They call your number why not just take the darn food to the customer it's not hard to manage one or two people. I eat at a lot of different places and possibly there is something I am missing but the burger not great for me. It's a skip

This was my first time here and I was super surprised at how many items they had on their menu. I really thought they only had burgers, I'm not sure why. Unfortunately, what I picked was just not that good. I bought the pastrami sandwich because I had seen soooo many people rav about it on Yelp. This just wasn't my experience. The meat was super cheap and tasted like balogne. 🤢 However the sweet potato fries were amazing and the portions for both were extremely generous. In total we paid $30+ for a double burger for my husband, the pastrami for me, sweet potato fries and a large drink. If my pastrami sandwich had been good, I would've said, 100% worth it. Usually my husband will eat whatever left overs I don't, but he wouldn't touch this sandwich 😬 However, they do have a big enough menu that I will be back to try something different. This just isn't the place to buy the pastrami, in my opinion.

Had always come to this place for lunch atleast 3 times a week. I work feet away from it and always call in the order, they would still take a while but understandable, till today that I called in at 6:40 they told me 5 to 10 minutes, showed up there 10 minutes later. They made me wait more than 40 minutes because they just forgot the order was ready. I spend my whole lunch there just waiting and my burger and hotdogs were saggy not going back anymore. Not even a sorry from them.

This is a more expensive version of Mc Donald's literary their food looks very similar to Mc Donald's cheeseburgers and fries are the same cut. I didn't even bother taking a picture of the food because it wasn't good at all. I'm disappointed I even wasted my money here when I could have gotten Mc Donald's for half the price. We got a bacon cheeseburger and double cheeseburger with a large fry and Oreo milkshake. I don't understand how you can mess up a cheeseburger when you basically copied Mc Donald's. This place is known for the "Chili burger" most likely because it covers up the taste of how bad the cheeseburgers are. The milkshake wasn't the best but I wasn't mad about ordering that at least.

I only went here while waiting on my car. HORRIBLE! The staff are so uninviting; staring at you as if you look foreign. No welcome, no hello, no can I help you. They just stood behind the counter staring & speaking in Spanish. My fries were cold & when I asked for fresh ones, they overcooked them...I'm talking hard as a brick. Went here the other day and got a double cheeseburger and fries and my uncle got the same. The hamburger had no flavor and was dry. The meat tasted like it was low quality also. My uncle said his was not good as well.
