This place only recently opened & it was crowded on what was basically opening day. The restaurant was packed! Drinks were flowing, servers were running all over, music was playing. Our server was Berenice & she was on top of everything. She was fast & friendly! The food was very good! The carne asada nachos were delicious... The chips and salsa were also very good! They have a chicharrones taco here that's spectacular! I'm looking forward to returning very soon to try more of their menu!

Kalaveras has some great Mexican food. Have been coming here for years. The menu has a great variety of dishes. Salsa and chips are always on point. Seafood has always been fresh, love their aquachilies. Right near the beach not much more you can ask for. Prices are definitely reasonable for the portion sizes.

Kalaveras in Redondo Beach is a fun, lively spot perfectly located just a short walk from the beach. The atmosphere is upbeat with loud music, colorful decor, and an energetic crowd — definitely a place to come if you're in the mood for a good time. We were glad we made reservations, as it does get busy (understandably so). As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa — a nice touch to kick things off. The food did not disappoint! The tacos and fajitas were tasty, but the molcajete stole the show — packed with flavor and super satisfying. We were too full to try any desserts, but that just gives us a reason to come back. If you're looking for great Mexican food with a party vibe near the beach, Kalaveras is a solid pick.

I went there for dinner for my friend’s birthday. I liked the decor and the atmosphere. The food was good, and the staff were nice too. But the music was very loud, so we couldn’t hear each other. I want to try their brunch next time.

Stopped in here for drinks on a Sunday afternoon since we were closeby the Redondo beach area. Was seated right away, looked like they just finished the brunch buffet so crowds were thinning out. First waiter was friendly and good, drinks brought out fast but later on during the shift change and cashing him out it was hard to flag down a new server. However, it was a good place to chill and have some drinks and appetizers. Guacamole dip was awesome🤙 Atmosphere was a bit on the noisier side but was expected. The quirky floral and colorful motif added to the character of this place. If it wasnt for the spotty service, it rate this place higher🤙Would visit this place again👍

My husband and I came to happy hour prices were surprisingly reasonable....food and drinks were great! We sat at the bar after we were done and ordered another drink.... Bartender was a pleasant young man talking about all the different alcohols with my husband. I feel bad that I don't recall his name I want to say Jonathan perhaps but I could be wrong.

Went to Kalaveras in Redondo Beach yesterday. There was a fair nearby so parking was tough, but the vibe inside was great—fun décor and really friendly servers. We got a pitcher of margarita (not too sweet, strong and tasty). Chips and salsa came complimentary, and we also ordered guac with chips. Most in my party ordered meat dishes like tacos and fajitas and rated the food 4/5. I was the only vegetarian and had a bowl with sweet potato, greens, corns and avocado—fresh and satisfying. I’d rate it 3/5. Good spot with solid drinks and options for everyone.

Never again will I step into this establishment. I paid 50.00 is service fees to eat here. Please there are so many restaurants to choose from and I can tell you this the food is ok. Drinks are ok just don't get bottomless mimosas because they aren't coming around that fast to fill up the glasses. We had to go to the bar to ask for refills and this was casual drinks. I Paid more in service fees then 2 plates of food. Then on Top of that you charged me to pay with my card. Never ever again will I go here to eat.

Writing as we go. To start the workers are extremely rude, don't smile, or introduce themselves so we cant hold anyone accountable. We asked for a smaller table. Only for the brunette waitress to sit me and my wife at a smaller table with one chair and walked away without giving us another one. Until we had to ask. We asked for a happy hour appetizer which they advertise outside. Only for her to ask us rudely "what time it was?" Im sorry but isn't it your job to know? She stood there till we visibly had to check our phones and tell her. We did not even want to ask questions about the menu or about the food because she was visibly irritated and snapped back irritable every time. Not a good first time. And definitely our last. The food was somewhat decent. With about 1 Oz of meat per taco. Definitely not worth the $2. Upon leaving my stomach was already turning. But nice decor and music. Chef Out!

The server was great the food not at all. They brought out steak fajitas and the steak was spoiled ,you could taste it. The manager did not take it off . Then they charged at table of two 18% service charge for large parties which how when it was only two of us worst Birthday experience ever. But I can say drinks was also I will not return should have just went to Juaviers.

Excellent service, meh food. I have no problem paying $14 for guacamole as long as it is fresh. We were served that mass produced then frozen then thawed stuff. It's sooo easy to make it fresh!! The pico de Gallo that came with guacamole was at least 3 days old (see picture posted by me) the cilantro was yellow.
