Love this place. Call in my lunch order for pickup at least twice a week. Very friendly service. Excellent burritos.
Their breakfast burritos are amazing! The customer service is top tier. Highly recommend!
Went today for my first visit. Picked up our order and came home to enjoy the best burritos ever on this side of the bay.
Wow!!!! The food here is authentic and amazing! The staff is some of the nicest people you’ll meet! When I say authentic, I mean authentic... nopales... two kinds of mole... huitlacoche... home-made jamaica.... When I say authentic, I also mean l, No kids menu. No Tex-mex. no Americanized food! So if you want your Mexican food smothered in a blanket of jack or cheddar cheeses... don’t come here. The only things would change are: 1)the paint job... glossy paint atop over-textured walls and 2) no public restroom... SERIOUSLY!!! 🥺 BUT ITS ALL WORTH IT FOR THE HOMEMADE TORTILLAS!!!!
Excellent fresh homemade mexican food, great agua frescas in several flavors. Owner is manager/wait staff and is very pleasant, provides timely service. No complaints
Really good food. They provide large portions.
Wonderful eats from a family owned business. If you are anywhere in the area this is a great place to eat. There is outdoor seating available.
Delicious and fresh, very authentic food I been there 2 times already and will keep going./muy Buena y authenticA comida regresare
Fantastic, authentic food. They even have a quesadilla de huitlacoche, which is hard to find, and it is delicious, served in a freshly made corn tortilla. I highly recommend!
Mexican home cooking at its best. The handmade tortillas are divine, as is the pozole.
Handmade tortillas are bomb! The food and the horchata are to dine for! Love this place, I come all the way from Pleasanton to eat here sometimes.
Star Theory: Did this place fall short, meet or surpass expectations? 5 STARS for this restaurant! This is not a TexMex restaurant, nor is it a street food hangout. This is what you'll eat if you go to Puebla, Mexcio, get on a bus, and ride couple of hours into the middle of nowhere to a place called Tianguismanalco. I recently brought a couple of friends from Mexico to try it out. Their words? "It's my mom's cooking." And "There just aren't any restaurants like this in the East Bay." It's a humble place with humble food. And it leapfrogs past my expectations to well-deserved 5 Stars!
Very good food, especially their breakfast burritos. Reasonable pricing.
I don't mind sharing my favorite burrito spot with everyone. Come enjoy all of the dishes served here with confidence.
Everything from the service, music, and especially the FOOD is fully authentic Mexican. This is the kind of hole-in-the-wall I expect to find in my hometown in Mexico City. Deliciosa comida!
Cozy and delicious Mexican food, a great alternative to taste good food in the city of Richmond.
Very good authentic food I fed a crew of 10 guys carnitas with rice beans and hand made tortillas. Excellent Salsa and roasted chilies
For my wife's birthday, we wanted to try someplace we haven't been to before, and decided on Tres Hermanas since we had heard good things about it. We were not disappointed. It was very busy for a Tuesday night around 7pm, but we were seated within a reasonable time (table for four). The decor and all around feel is very warm, welcoming and fun. We were very surprised how many tables and people they are able to fit comfortably in what seems like a small restaurant. Our drinks came out immediately, and our food was brought to us fairly quickly too and very warm. And the food was delicious. I ordered the #8 combo (chicken burrito and carne asada taco) and loved every bite. Each of us were impressed with our plate, and vowed to return again. Toward the end of our meal, Jose came and greeted us, and upon learning it was my wife's birthday, he brought over a freshly made churro with whipped cream that we all shared, and it was perfect. We will definitely return, and very soon.
so delicious, simple and classic. the birria is incredible and very easy to accommodate with plentiful plant based options:)
As I work very hard, coming to Tres Hermanas have change my life. Exelente service treat me like VIP. Fast and always with a smile fresh coffee hand made tortillas fresh same day cook food I mean no pre-cooked food Mexican snack but if this is not enough they always go beyond and if I want something served different way and they have it in the kitchen they will certainly do. Very reasonable prices and good price but if you hungry and want bigger portion that will not be a problem. I highly recommend this place. As I have worked for hotels and Restaurants I can say you will not hesitate visit this place.
My friend who had never been there before had the sweet mole, he left a clean plate. I had the thief milanesa. My goodness it was just so tender and juicy. And been dying to go back for more
All the food is solid, but the corn tortillas…. Incredible. We love the menudo, carnitas, sopes…it’s all tasty. But we keep coming back for the tortillas. Service is warm and friendly, too.
Super cute and the breakfast burrito was delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more food and their agua frescas!
Because we order from there on a pretty regular basis and have been coming here for years. My kid used to ride his trike and we'd park it in the corner while we ate burritos and chicken mole This is a neighborhood place owned and operated by Don~a Elena Carman~ola, her sisters and her seven daughters. The food is good and fresh, and the vibe is warm. Don~a Elena's tamales cannot be topped. They're not on the menu but we special order 5-6 dozen for a party we throw every year. Everyone loves them. They can be a little slow, especially when they get overwhelmed. On Saturdays and Sundays TH has an old guy who sings ballads and plays the guitar.
1st time here this morning & the service was quick, and the food was excellent! We ordered pozole & menudo, we’ll definitely come back to try other dishes.
Amazing food, in mornings it's sometimes crowded but it's soo worth it. The staff will check on you every couple minutes they are so helpful.
Really great food, it taste like a real home made food. If i could i would always be there eating… amazing flavors.
This small place has the biggest flavor of authentic mexican food, specially the birria-quesadilla!! The cook should be called a chef he is also a very nice, respectful and polite person always making you feel at home. This small place is a breath of fresh air on every level.
Always friendly and treat you like family. I have never eaten at the restaurant. Only have gotten take out but I am sure it's pleasant.
Best kept secret in Richmond. There's an outdoor seating patio with a tent in their parking lot. The food is totally worth it. Don't let the outside fool you.
It feels like I'm sitting at home and my mom is making breakfast for my family. All made from scratch, love this place! The Menudo, extremely good! Highly recommend!
Nothing like the mexican fast food from taco bell, but still fast. the service was great, helpful waiters and the food came out in an appropriate time we didnt wait too long. everything was perfect and delicious. good quick stop for a tuesday dinner
OMG for a hole in the wall restaurant thw food was amazing. The price was great. The best thing , We were not rushed to leave. The waiter waited for us to signal for the check. Unbelievable service.
Food was delicious. The salsa was good, but thin (I like a thick salsa). Staff was genuinely friendly. Small, quiet place.
I lived in the area for 2.5 years. Best Mexican food on San Pablo in Richmond.
Quick stop off the freeway on the way to camping - the breakfast burrito was amazing, and both salsas were super tasty. I ordered one burrito, ate it, and went back to order another for the road. They aren't giant burritos, but are a nice size for the cheap price!
I love this place! It is right around the corner of my house and doesn’t disappoint. They have never messed up an order and have amazing food. They also have incredible aguas frescas. On top of that they have a cute space to eat outdoors. No complaints here!
Though the facility is very small, the customer service is above great. Upon entering the dining room, the waiter made me feel like he had been waiting all day for me to arrive. I felt so welcomed.
The food is great the people that staff the restaurant are wonderful, the restaurant itself is small. I've only eaten in one time but have ordered to go many times and never been disappointed in my meal.
Food is always good and their menu is great, I go there every week.
Great food, quick service
Absolutely delicious! I love this place . The ladies are very nice and the food is what I think authentic Mexican food should taste like. I love Elaina, she's so sweet. I feel like my mom is cooking for me when I see her..lol. The hard tacos are to die for. If I could eat tacos every day...it would be here. As a matter of fact I going right now.....one chicken and one steak yummy!
I like this place. Stopped for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The waiter was polite and attentive. I left him a 50% tip to show my appreciation. Seems to be mostly Spanish speaking but they are polite and will speak English if you need
The food is delicious and was served incredibly fast on my last visit. The sisters and the man serving are just really nice too. It's easy to imagine eating in my mom's kitchen, if my mom had been Mexican and a great cook.
So delicious. I just got the 1/2 order Gordita plate with carnitas, but i almost ate it all in the parking lot!!! Service was excellent as well. Also note that as of 09292020 they do have patio seating open as well. Very, very, good food. It's a must-try.
The food was great!!! I enjoyed their al carte quesadilla made with squash flour and a little pinch of cheese (for those who prefer less cheesy). They also have real, organic passion fruit juice- right from the fruit to glass I could taste it; brought back good memories of home.
I had some of their soup when I was sick and it was amazing. So I went back and ordered about seven different other things and we came home and they were super tasty, not too salty so not really evidence of MSG or anything. Just pure unadulterated flavor in a very small restaurant that needs your support. Highly recommend!
The homemade tortillas, birria, and service were all excellent. No bathrooms, so plan ahead.
I have been coming for years to this restaurant , it has its own parking lot however you can usually find parking on the street. The food reminds me of when I visit family, everything tastes homemade. I usually order their burritos, their mole.
Love a local eatery where they know who we are just by placing or order for pickup. Everyone is friendly and their food is delicious. They’ve always been incredibly welcoming of my young child and make him feel welcome even when his energy is a bit high waiting for food.
Best Mexican food in Richmond san pablo area Is a small restaurant but the food is the Best home made tortillas are my favorite if you like authentic Mexican food this is the place,
Little bit of a longer wait but the food makes up for it decently priced the guy was really nice and overall it was very good
The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything we have tasted so far has been fantastic, and all our expectations have been exceeded. It's safe to say that we are thoroughly enjoying every bite!
Stopped in on our way to see Social Distortion. Intimate setting (seats around 25-30) Very clean. The service was excellent. The food was tasty. We had crispy chicken and shredded beef taco platter, w/ rice, and redried beans. Everything was served fresh and hot. The price was reasonable too. $15.99 for two tacos, rice, and beans. Their menu has many options. Highly recommend.
Now *that* was a mole! The enchiladas mole were so savory/sweet with a great kick! I didn't want them to end! My tamarindo was also a flavor explosion. A lot of places miss the tartness and they nailed it. Loved it. This is such a gem, such a welcoming atmosphere too. I'll definitely be back!
Amazing gem . The food, service and energy was spot on. I prefer restaurants like this because you know the food is cooked in small batches and with real flavor. No shortcuts here. I'll definitely be visiting this 💎 again.
I needed somewhere local to eat brunch and this was such a nice spot! The food was wholesome and fresh tasting. Horchata was 10/10 refreshing. It got crowded but everyone was getting served in a timely manner. Great spot!
I’ve driven past this place hundreds of times over the past 4 years and finally decided to stop in for lunch. I was blown away by literally everything about this place. Everyone who works there is super welcoming and the food is amazing! I had the mole enchiladas and horchata. The mole sauce was perfect, the meat was delicious, and their homemade corn tortillas were the icing on the cake. Found my new favorite spot and will be coming back for years to come!
The plate sizes are large. It is authentic Mexican food. On Sundays they also offer Menudo. This place was busy at the time of my visit.
First time here and ordered the Chilaquiles with carne asada. My dish was amazing. The wait staff was fast and welcoming. Definitely will come back when I'm home in the Bay.
Excellent service the young waiter is very attentive and food was on the spot ,real Mexican food
As all real taco addicts know, there are levels to this game. Tres Hermanas is on the upper levels of the taco game, with mouth watering yummy Mexican regional food, and a house picante sauce that is just killer. Since Carnitas is the holy grail of tacos I always start there, because some places just put pork chunks in a taco, (Not) and other places actually cook this delicacy with a family recipe, or the traditional way. Real Carnitas have tiny bits of fat, (Grasa), "Buche" (Maw) Cuerito" (skin) and tender soft shoulder or butt, lovingly cooked in lard, with oranges, spices, and even coca cola. I have to say I am happy to have found a place on the level of Taqueria El Paisa, (in Oakland on International just off High street) that s a little closer to where I live. These tacos had all those great bits and pieces, and fatty parts, and the meat was tender and delicious. NOTE: these tacos cost a little more, but do not be fooled. The tacos here are twice the size of the tacos at most taquerias. I highly recommend this place! Great food and also, great friendly people!

The place is small but cozy. However if you go with a group of six or more, there will be problem accommodating people. The food is more than fantastic
Reminds me of my grandma's food, so comforting and delicious every time. Cooks are from Guanajuato and this place is authentic. The birria caldo is delicious, carne asada plate is bomb with handmade tortillas, the mole enchiladas will blow your mind, and chile relleno was fire! 10 out 10 every time!
The food tastes very traditional and homemade. Great options outside those that you find typically in taquerias. We love this place.
This place is a hole in the wall, they have about 8 tables. It's cozy and inviting. The food is AMAZING. I had the Flor de Calabaza Quesadilla with the beans and rice. It was huge, made of had made corn tortilla. It hot and amazing. My whole family comes her often. If you want authentic Mexican food come here and try something new, this is the place, the also have all sorts of moles, seafood, the also have vegetarian choices. The refried beans( frijoles fritos) we soooo good.
Great food!!! Will be returning when im the bay area

I found this place years a go and have been coming back ever since I love most of their dishes but the green chilaquilea remind me of grandmas I highly recommended
Food was good, not amazing. Expensive for what you get. My Gordita plate was $19 and I ended up getting hungry 2 hours later.
Delicious steak tacos & green sauce! Carnitas tacos weren’t my favorite, but overall the food was tasty and fresh.
There's not a lot of places in the area where you can get machaca... Tres Hermanas makes the best I've had in a long time. The guacamole was awesome!
Very good food in a basic diner atmosphere. A little more expensive than other nearby places, but the food is a also a notch above the rest.
This restaurant is very good. The women that run it are very friendly and the food is prepared well. The only thing that I could wish for would be more menu items that cater to vegetarians. I have a very limited number of items to choose from. Aside from that, they are wonderful.
Good place for our usual Saturday morning breakfast. Service is prompt and friendly, food is delicious, portions are scaleable for larger or smaller appetites. For a little tiny place, Las Tres Hermanas cooks up a lot of joy.
Great food (at least the Chile rellanos w. Refried beans & rice is), only knocking one star off because they don't list the prices for their food on their menu that I got on my way out. Petty, I know; but that's the only thing that I could find wrong. So all-in-all, good food that's moderately pricey, but I would definitely recommend Tres Hermanas. Oh yeah, the staff were extremely friendly, which is always much appreciated.
Mexican american home cooking, very good food served in big portions. My favorite is posole, such good flavor. Super burritos are the size of infants. The service is friendly and accurate. Feels like grandmas house.
We live in Berkeley but haven't dined here in several decades before friends made a reservation for four of us for lunch at the Cafe upstairs on a Saturday. Overall, the quality of meal was very good, and the wait staff was first rate. So, why I am only giving this restaurant three starts? Well, the cost of the meal...
Cozy little spot with good food. Prices are reasonable. Friendly staff. Definitely worth trying out if you haven't.
If you blink you'll miss it. I blinked and had to go around again, but boy I'm glad I did! Good clean cooking and welcoming server. I came by way of an a-fram sign while driving to and from a showing appointment -- I just wanted a quick something to eat. But all in all the three sisters do Mexican cuisine awesome. Great presentation, and yummy. #TheBrokerWithAHeart
Excellent authentic Mexican food at a great price. This unassuming and honest Restaurant keeps the decor simple and focuses on the food. Portions were large, horchata was excellent, and the sopa was piled up high. Service was a little slow, but that's only because our sweet server was all alone (and doing the bussing!). We will be back! ❤️🌮🔥
We were in town visiting some relatives and decided to go out for breakfast. This place has wonderful food. I usually dont get tortas at any Mexican restaurant, but my niece got a chorizo torta and I decided to try it. Wow!!! Best i have ever had at a restaurant, i would defenetly get one here. My plate was chilaquiles divorciados and my husband had a chorizo burrito. This food was amazing. It really hit the spot for all of us. And dont get me started on the agua de horchata, one of the best ones I have had. My husband is not a fan of horchata, but sure enough he loved this one. I will defenetly come here again when I'm in town. Service could have been a little better but the food made up for that.

Food came out pretty fast and the people there were quite nice.
Good food and use to be my favorite place to eat, but didn't get my order complete last time I was there and charge me a lot for a plate of beans. Not sure if they know how much to charge for simple things, so ended up very pricey.
Had 2 meet steak and 1 veggie burritos. There was no text or label on it. Had to tear them all open to find the veggie burritos.
Finally had a chance to get a breakfast burrito from here Sunday, January 12. I was not expecting to spend $18 (and $2 tip so over $20 total) on this.. but I heard great things about this place.. Honestly, it was MUCH smaller than I expected, I asked for all the meat and all the extras so I figure that’s why it cost so much (menu showed a lower price) but the small size definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. The flavor was good but nothing exceptional and NOT worth the cost, I had to use all the sauces cause it was quite dry, I still have some burrito left cause I ran out of sauce to top each bite. And half the burrito was potato, very little meat (that I paid extra for). I plan to give this place another chance because it was highly recommended but I’m not in a rush to spend that again for what I got(or didn’t get let’s be honest).

Excellent homemade flour tortillas for breakfast burritos. Love the chorizo n egg. For that I’d give 4.5⭐️ But I’m in the parking lot now at 8am and they’re supposed to be open but literally no one is here at all. Like, the kitchen, everything is dark. I’ve been a few times but this is annoying. I just drove across town and it’s a waisted trip😕

Food was good. Super frustrating that the prices aren’t printed on the menus. Why? Some of us are on a budget and need to consider price when ordering. Won’t be back unless that changes.
Way overpriced, food is not that good..just not a good place to eat Mexican food, menu doesn’t have the price of their plates on it, that’s a clue that the place is expensive, but if the food was any good , the prices would be no problem, but honestly don’t waste your money and time on this place, NOT WORTH IT!!!
New review: Oh No, what happened guys? It went from such a great experience to a very disappointing one. I orderd the steak Flautas (full plate) and a coke. It was $20 +2 tip. And what I got was so so disappointing. For that price honestly I could have got a solid meal anywhere else. Not sure if I was overcharged or what happened. I paid in cash. No prices on the menu which was very strange. And then the food..... The flautas were made with tiny street taco corn tortillas. It was like an itty bitty tequito but not filled with much of anything. The lettuce was wilted, barely got any refried beans, the rice was alright. I really didn't want to leave this review but I felt I needed to as I would want to know this information before dropping $22 on a really bad unfilling meal. I honestly feel ripped off 😩 You were so amazing before! Old review: This place is fantastic. The food is amazing! The quesadilla was a definite highlight. And the service was great. The man who helped us was very warm and welcoming. This place isn't that close to my home but I will definitely be making the drive when I want delicious Mexican food.
Terrible customer service by the owner!!! So rude and unfriendly. She got my order wrong, refused to correct it, and made me overpay to fix it. Food wasn't even good. Would not recommend.
