This is the best fish / seafood place in East Bay hands down. I ordered takeout tilapia and catfish nuggets. The food quality was great, and the service was wonderful. I was told to wait 15 mins for my order, but one of the gentlemen brought me the food after 10 mins outside in my car. Great customer service!

O.M.G. AMAZING. I ordered online and was given a pick-up time but then got a call about 10 minutes later that my food was ready. The food was kept in a warming box so when I picked it up and ate it, the temperature and of course flavor were perfect. I ordered the Catfish $13.99 with red beans. I am full but want more. Next time I will order a larger meal and will look forward to the food coma. Sooooooooooooo gooood!!!

Found this place online searching for soul food places to eat on a Sunday and this place was the only one that was open. I called and placed the salmon (fried) dinner which comes with 2 sides of choice. I had greens and red beans and rice. This was fire . It definitely hit different . Can't get enough!! Try them today and you will not be disappointed!!

Out here from LA on business and was looking for a good soul food spot and happened to be right down the street. Best candies yams I’ve had in a long time. Ox tails were very good. Definitely will be going back. These brothers can get down!

I just had the Baked Turkey plate, boy I have to say it was really good. Both sides were fantastic.(yams & macaroni salad) The porsons were large. They were really friendly. I would recommend it for sure.

Excellent soul food selection. Snapper, catfish and fried chicken with delicious sides of collard greens, rice and beans, french fries and hush puppies. But the greatest surprise was the delicious, delicate and very lightly huge fried oysters, were to die for. Portions plenty with all the sauces and corn bread. Everything thoughtfully packaged. We will go back and eat again and again.

Jabari was accommodating. He is so kind to all of his customers. This is a family ran restaurant. Food was on hit. You can tell he uses fresh oil on his fry cause they were fried to a prefect golden brown. I got the 3 selection combo- fried snapper, fried chicken & prawns. This combo can with 3 sides, we got mac n cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. They are not lacking in flavor at all on any of their food. All the sides were Bomb af as well. I especially loved their potato salad. The batter on the fry are all different and season really well. I definitely recommend you order this and go to the park or for your family to enjoy at home. Highly recommended 👌

Well I must confess it had been years since I had last went to Snappers, but on Tuesday HsS fish n chips was closed so I Google fish in Richmond and saw Snapper's was open. I ordered the two-way catfish &prawns with red beans &rice and colard greens as my sides. It was delicious and good portions. So I doubled down today, Thursday, January 27 and went back to try their breakfast. I ordered the #1 Cajun Shrip Omelet with country fries with wheat toast. And boy I was not disappointed, shrimp in every bite and the potatoes cooked to perfection. I will be going back tomorrow for the lunch special 2piece Tilapia with fries to complete my work week. They are open 7 days a week so if you are in Richmond or driving through call and give them a try, you won't regret it.

I had a great experience with them at Costco Richmond, I ordered 100 party wings last minute and surprisingly they took the order with only 1 & 1/2 hours to prepare it all for me. It was a bit pricey but it was worth the money especially because I ordered it last minute for such a big order for my son’s graduation party. Thank you again Jabari

Love the fish and chicken . So fresh and delicious every time. They have the best potato salad I've ever had from a restaurant. I know it's made in-house. I personally think portion size on the side dishes could be bigger. It's a sauce container. And the red beans and rice is ok. Mac and cheese is good and flavorful. Greens are solid. Oxtails are delicious. I go here often. They're slow because the food is fresh, so pre-order to avoid a long wait.

Cant rate atmosphere cause its Take out only. Food always taste like they used fresh grease 👍🏿. Need to add an additional hot sauce in the bag (fat boys need the extra "Crystals" lol) Eat there once a month when Im working in the area.. if you can call 1st, they cook to order if your in a Rush.. Found out about this place when me and my family were staying at GRIP. It's delicious and right in the neighborhood. If your finishing out your trail ride cut a left on Marina Way and make another left to come down Ohio St. Look for the overhang. Straight forward good eats with a little bit of "Yo Mama" atmosphere.

I ordered the three-fish combo with two sides. it was good. it wasn't heavy seasoned, but that is expected bc restaurants want to satisfy the palettes of everybody so they make it bland. it wasnt a lot of food for $30.00. $15.00 is the price that wld have been reasonable to me. the hush puppies were good. the fries were fries, not special. all in all it's a good meal but it's not inspiring. but that's how most restaurants are so that's not a criticism bc it's industry standard. real home cooking with the seasonings are done at home. I ordered from seamless. the delivery was on time.

A lucky find while exploring some of the "new" Richmond bike paths last weekend. My wife loves fancy restaurants, but me? I love great local food, local people, and an ambiance that is free of pretension, unlike this sentence. We split the sapper sandwich for lunch, which was fried in a cornmeal coating and came with steak fries. The tartar sauce had a great and surprising additional flavor (allspice maybe?). We were very pleased. Did your favorite joint in Oakland get gentrified? Come here. We will definitely be back for the Sunday soul food dinners, and if it gets any better, I may have to edit in another star.

First time here today. Great Southern food! I ordered the whiting and fries combo with a side of medium macaroni and cheese. The fries were sliced fat; offering a slight crisp which I prefer. The fish has a thick batter that was well seasoned. The side of tartar sauce and hot sauce complimented the taste. My friend had the same order except with the catfish, which was very tasty. Service was great. The owner was very helpful and took the time to know us as we sat and enjoyed the food. The potions are big! I’ll definitely be back.

I ordered catfish meal for 2 which included fries. It was very good except fish was little salty. Next time I'll say easy on salt. Great curbside service very timely. Courteous & professional. My first time.

The food was good, but I rated this place 3 stars bc they charge you extra if you want a different type of side dish other than the one that may come with your meal. Listen, a side is a side!! I have NEVER been charged extra for choosing a different side!! 😒 FYI... This is not a place that you can dine in, so don't plan for it ! Take out only! But I will come again.

It wasn't the best fish. I ordered the sole with greens and yams. The fish was hard. I could barely bite through it and had no flavor at all. The yams weren't fully cooked and again no flavor. The greens were eatable. I did receive my food quick enough but no one was particularly friendly. No one was rude either. I've had uneven experiences here. This visit was not a good one. Frankly, I haven't had great fish experiences in Richmond. I'll stick to Oakland going forward for my fish fix.

My fish it was over fried my red beans and rice look like mush. The macaroni and yams taste good.

The seafood is really good but the meatloaf was too dense and the gravy was too thick. The kool-aid is on point. I'm waiting to go back and try their oxtail. The one sure-fire way to tell if a soul food restaurant has good food is if they have really good fried chicken and great oxtails. I will definitely be going back the next time I'm in Richmond. I'm from the South, and it's extremely hard to find good home-cooked soul food in the bay area. If anyone who reads this knows of a good soul food and BBQ joint please share their location. Thank u.

I heard about this place on Instagram. Food looked so good that they next day I drove way to Richmond from Oakland. The food was nasty portion was so/so I got a 3way combination and meatloaf with Mac and cheese and dressing. I didn't care for nothing I was so...... disappointed hopefully it was just a bad day for them. I love to support black business but most of the time I'm disappointed. I'll give it another try before I condemn them

Very Very Disappointed!!! I ordered the Turkey Meatloaf Special through Ubereats around 7:00 pm & received a NASTY Turkey & Dressing meal that looked like poop, literally!!!! The quality of the pieces of turkey was horrible. The meat was old and dry. There was hardly any dressing and on top of that the gravy was oily and watery. The rest of the food was cold. I couldn't eat any of it! A total waste of money and lack of customer care from this restaurant. There service has gotten worse. You try & support your own & this is what you receive. I will not be eating there again.

In my honest opinion the shrimp combo is ok. The shrimp are delicious but the Mac and cheese is regular and the collard greens aren't flavorful. I also feel that collard greens are super cheap and Mac and cheese of such low quality. So someone please tell me why this meal is almost 30 freaking dollars. It's over priced black owned or not I won't be going back. 23-25 dollars would be reasonable but for 6 shrimp and a scoop of Mac and collard greens it's ridiculous as hell. Especially when you can cook better than the restaurant your buying the food from. I just want to ask soul food restaurants why are they so scared to flavor the Mac and cheese and the collards? Because I know damn well on Thanksgiving my Mac and cheese gets some love from my seasoning cabnet, those that know, know. So I say eat here at your own risk.

We ordered from the food truck at the car show in Richmond today. It took one hour to get our food from the moment we ordered. Totally unacceptable I don’t even know if the food is good but I will not be going back if this is the kind of service that they give. Several people were getting their money back because of the long wait we should’ve done the same.

I started ordering fish from snappers about 3 or so years ago. The fish was really fresh and cooked to order. I like my fish crispy, the fries extra crispy, & the hush puppies well done. Since then the food quality has really gone down. I have gotten spoiled fish from there. The owner did however redo my order on another day, but as a cook you can smell and feel when fish is bad so it should have been noticed before I was given it. I ordered tonight at around 7:40 and they close at 8pm, and had it delivered. The fish barely had batter/fish fry/corn meal on it. There were pieces and parts that had no batter at all. It was cooked until it was like rubber and we couldn't eat it because it chewed like gum, never diving and we would have to spit it out. We gave up. The fries nor the huhspuppies weren't cooked right either. The hushpuppies were soft and not at all crispy on the outside. I am so disappointed. The quality of the food has gone completely downhill.

Snapper's Seafood provided their food, and it needs to be said, your service is appreciated, however........if you wanted a donation, just ask. The food was so high priced for what they offered. In total $45.00 (not including tip 🤨). Definitely not worth that amount, which takes away the enjoyment of the meal. I'm all for helping out the business, but this is asking a lot. To make it even more sad, the food wasn't really that good. Sorry, just being truthful. C'mon Snappers, at events like this.....please do better for the people.
