Still a good restaurant to take friends and family for a night out. Fresh chips and salsa that are refilled often. Service was outstanding with the staff working as a team. Food hot and fresh from the kitchen. Be careful and avoid the hit plates.

Always great food and service. I cannot even recommend just one dish, as everything is so good. Just don't pass up on the refried beans. They are beyond compare.

Got my order to go as I know their chili rellano is my favorite, but by getting it to go, I can add onion to the accompanying enchilada... my preferred way to enjoy cheese enchiladas. And, of course, beans and rice are the perfect sides... so delicious! Though, if you dine in, you'll find attentive servers and a cozy, pleasant atmosphere along with plenty of crispy chips & tasty salsa.

I love this place. My family has been coming here since I was a kid and it was called Don Jose. We come for all of our life events and this time we stopped in for lunch after my grandpa’s funeral. The enchiladas and fried ice cream are the same as when I was a kid. So delicious. Nice service too.

Girlfriend and I just had a delicious lunch! We went at 12. Was no wait. Food came out fast and hot!! The executive chef came out and introduced himself at out table. The waiter we had was super friendly and patient. We hadn't seen each other for almost 6 years so we had a lot of catching up and the waiter understood and didn't keep coming back forcing us to order. We left him a nice tip! I got the flautas lunch special for 9.99 the meal came out as a dinner size! We both said wow this is a great deal! They don't have much vegetarian options for my friend. She was hoping for maybe potato taco but they put beans instead. She still enjoyed her food!

this place is amazing! one of the few spots that has kept it consistent since the start of the pandemic. also helping to keep me and my family fed when there aren’t many options aside from fast food. the quality is great. it doesn’t take forever for them to get your order ready. the only complaint I would have is that they close @ 8. I understand the importance behind this and fully respect it...but when you’re hungry for enchiladas @ 10 it kinda sucks. nonetheless this place still earns my five stars. not an easy task in our customer serviceless post apocalyptic riverside.

Today we were waited on by a man named Frankie He is the best waiter I've had at a restaurant in a long while. All of our food came exactly how we ordered it meat well done, no beans extra rice, extra tortillas eat. We hadn't even asked for refills but he saw from a distance and brought us refills. Please do what ever you can to keep this man working for you. Today he got you guys 5 stars.

This is one of favorite spots. We've been coming to Rodrigo's( Don Jose's) for about 35 years. (Buena Park/Moreno Valley[closed], and now Riverside).

Undoubtedly one of the best Mexican restaurants in Riverside. Everything we've had so far has been very delicious. Also the fish and shrimp tacos are way better than any place I've found in the inland empire. Go get some but save me some.

Rodrigo's it's the best. They have the best sizzling fajitas. I get the vegetarian fajitas that comes with mushrooms which is my favorite as a vegetarian. My wife loves the chicken street tacos, the beans are really good with melted cheese on top. Service is top notch as they really care and check on your needs. The cook made a mistake once and didn't give me extra mushrooms like I had asked , I told the waitress and she said she would take care of it. The manager came out to apologize and to assure me that my mushrooms are coming out. Oh boy did they come out! Yes fast and with a extra extra amount of mushrooms, I ate myself to death and had some to take home. 😋 🤤 Now when ever the Manager sees us he remembers and ask if everything is ok. Now that's service, you make a mistake and correct it and then some, then remember you for your next visits. A++

My sister and I went for lunch today and everything was amazing! We tried the remodeled location in Anaheim hills a few days ago and it was actually disappointing. All the nostalgic decor is gone and the design is actually quite boring. The food came out cold, the flavor was different (even though the menu is exactly the same), and the salsa recipe at the Anaheim hills location has definitely was changed. I have to say I absolutely love the Riverside location and the nostalgic vibes that they continue to bring. The salsa is consistently the same and the food is always good! The service at the Riverside location is also taught notch! Please Riverside don't ever change! My family and I will always love and dine here!

I had Sunday Brunch with my Mom and Dad (Jeanie & Brian McLaughlin) who have been coming to Rodrigo’s for 42 years. A large chunk of that time I would come to Rodrigo’s as a child. It used to be called Don Jose’s. I had the steak and eggs with beans and rice and everything was excellent. They provide complimentary champagne and keep filling the glasses. I’m very happy they survived the pandemic.

Waters refilled constantly as well as salsa and chips fresh, hot tortilla chips. Not to mention, everything tasted great. I have been eating at Rodrigos since it was Don Jose since i was little. Im 43 now. My favorite dishes have not changed in flavor through all these years (enchiladas, rellenos, seafood enchiladas). The only ding is… my wife & I love to order a chile relleno burrito. But we have to special order it. A burrito supreme with a relleno instead of meat. But we get charged $6 extra on top of the $17.50. Thats unfair and would like to suggest it be added as an option at no additional charge considering we are not getting meat. Or make it like an additional $2 add on. As for the service, sometimes there are not enough waiters/waitresses and it takes long to get in orders. But the food does come quick.

This a very fun restaurant! Good food and good drinks! The service is great , Marilyn is one of the best their! Love the veggie fajitas! Margarita's are nice but a little too much juice. The major complaint I have here from being five stars is the frozen Guacamole that they use, is watery and just nasty. I would rather pay more for fresh! They stop taking kitchen orders at 10pm but should be 11pm. The karaoke here is super fun and major feature at this restaurant. Take Karaoke on weekends away and this place is dead. Quitting at 11pm is sign of management not in touch with the clients, staying open later would result in more sales. This restaurant has so much potential with a few tweaks! I hope they make adjustments before is too late is a nice place to go to.

Recent visit to Rodrigo's put them back on the weekly rotation. They seemed to have returned to the Don José of old in that the chips we're hot, fresh and made in-house as were the entrées. Also the service by "Frank" was the best we've had in years. The entire menu was back as well. Looking forward to my next visit. If you enjoyed Rodrigo's (Don José) pre-pandemic then please support them so they'll continue to be around for the next generation to enjoy.

Disappointed. First let me say, the service was great he was very kind and attentive and the decor is lovely. A good atmosphere. I'm just bummed because I was craving shrimp ceviche so I ordered their big bowl of it and unfortunately it was really watery and had no flavor and was served with old stale crackers. My husband ordered a carne asada burrito with a side of beans and rice. He said it was decent not the worst he said definitely not the best. Maybe we just came on a bad day they weren't super busy. Unfortunately that shrimp ceviche just really really bummed me out and because of this I probably won't return. On one final note it was also a little bit pricey between the shrimp ceviche salad the carne asada burrito and side of beans and rice with tip we ended up paying about $130 which is really pricey. I should obviously mention that we also did each have a margarita, again it was weak and flavorless.

Went for the first time and the food was bland and tasteless. There is the possibility that the food tasted bland because the female server happened to be wearing WAY too much perfume, she smelled like a walking billboard ad for Dollar Tree perfume that had smell-o-vision turned up too high. After eating, I asked the front desk hostess for the management so I could let them know the perfume on the server was a bit overdone. When he came out he smiled but as soon as I told him about the perfume issue he just stared at me and he had a look on his face suddenly that was like I was from another planet and I'd just asked him (in Martian) to get in my spacecraft because I was taking him on a road trip to Mars. (I was very nice about it and didn't talk overtly loud because there were customers in earshot.) I don't know if anything was done about it because he just stood there staring. Maybe a communication issue? I would assume that management would be fluent in the English language, but hey, I'm no expert. I walked away slowly and uncomfortably because it was so awkward. I don't know what that whole Twilight Zone-like episode was all about, but more than likely I will not be returning to that location.

Definitely understand the price increase as every restaurant is doing it due to the cost of meat but….. the quality of the food is definitely not the same. So if you’re going to increase your prices don’t change the meat. We ordered street tacos and the meat was so fatty and chewy. The salsa is so watery and awful, stale Chips. They got rid of taco Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant is hilarious. It’s no wonder the place is never that busy anymore. Margaritas are full of sweet and sour no tequila.

Most likely I’m going to need some meds…So far the only Mexican restaurant I found around the area that’s tasty and decent is Chilitos restaurant …I’m never going back to Rodrigo’s 🙃

Would not eat here. The food had zero flavor. There are better restaurants around. The menu is small and the price for the food is crazy!!

I hardly ever leave bad reviews but food was not good to my husband and I at all. The rice wasn't authentic and tasted like it was microwaved. He got a chimichanga and I got a burrito with chile Colorado and the meat in his chimichanga chile Verde tasted like fake meat. My chile on the burrito tasted like the dishes weren't rinsed properly like an after taste of dish soap and I feel so bad complaining but we left and didnt eat after our first bite. Its sad to say but we rather eat del taco. I hate to complain or leave bad reviews but it just was not good. Never again.

I ordered through Uber Eats and specifically requested no onions in the note section. I could barely find any beef as it was buried under onions. When I did find some beef it was absolutely tasteless and leathery. I order on Uber Eats often and this was without question the worst experience I ever had. The guacamole was in chunks and like half an avocado with a couple of pieces of tomato thrown on top. The tortilla soup was 25% oil and that is no exaggeration. Trust this review and stay away from Rodrigo’s!!

My family and I decided to come in for a celebration of life for my mother. We come here every year to celebrate. But instead of celebrating, our entire time was ruined because of our server his name was Armando. Our terrible service began when it took him 20 minutes to bring us drinks other than the water we got when we first sat down. It then turned into having another server take our order and tell him to put it in the system. Armando got another table about a half hour after we sat down. Armando was able to attend to them just fine. They were able to get their drinks, appetizers, and entrees within a timely manner. Everytime we tried to get his attention he was never there. We had to chase him down at the bar to even get our bill because when we noticed that the other table had gotten their food and we still hadn't gotten ours after an hour and a half. We wanted to get the check because it was kind of too long for us to be waiting. When we were waiting we were attended to buy a different waitress her name was Monica and we were not in her section but she still helped us in the best way that she could because she noticed that we were being neglected by our own server. Armando needs to do better. He ruined a celebration of life that was a constant tradition and now I'm even debating if I want to consider continuing this tradition at this restaurant any further. My trust in the service has been hurt terribly. It came to a point where it felt like he left our food to get cold and they had to warm it up in the microwave because it took so long to get to us. How dare he be awful. Amazing praises to Monica for being a great server when she didn't have to help us. Give her a freaking raise!!!!!
