We had dinner at Skipolini’s Pizza & Pasta in Rocklin near the Blue Oaks movie theater and it was a great experience. The restaurant has a warm, family friendly atmosphere and the Italian food tastes authentic and comforting. I ordered the chicken parm and it was flavorful and filling. This is an excellent spot for a relaxed date night or a family meal before catching a movie.
My 11 year old loves spaghetti. He’s very picky. I asked how his pasta was. Before which I was reading reviews. Apparently he was side reading also. When I asked how his pasta was. He said “who ever gave a bad review is crazy” lol good food. Good vibe and great service.
I've been coming here for years. Never disappointed. The food is authentic. The drinks are amazing. Service is great. Dim lighting sets the mood. Heated outdoor area.
Excellent family owned Italian restaurant. Great service and the pizza was delicious along with the classic lasagna 😋 nice appetizers we had the garlic bread. My wife is the pizza aficionado and she was definitely pleased with everything this restaurant had to offer. Tiramiso was excellent 👌 we must try the gelato next time we're there. Thanks Kara for the excellent service. I also appreciate the fact that they offer Mocktails. I had the blueberry mojito and My had the Cucumber mocktail. Our overall experience was excellent and I definitely recommend this place if you want an intimate dining experience with your significant other.
We ate outside so my 4yr old could play in the play structure. There were a few kids in there already and he joined in the fun easily! The food was really good (even left overs were yum!). We got drinks and desert too! The drinks were well made and the deserts were super tasty. The ice cream bar was a nice option for lots if choices. Not from the area and REALLY wish we had one of these closer to our house! Will absolutely be back!
The food was very good. Our waitress was very good and informative. The music was just a little too loud for us. We'll definitely go back! The chicken piccata was excellent!
Please stay away. They have messed up the last two take out orders, and when i called to explain the situation, the manager said i should check my order before i leave. They didnt put extra sauce on the pizza, was i supposed to check for extra sauce? Omg. Im done. Siinos gets my business now.
We went there for my niece's birthday dinner. It was my first time there. I had the meatball sub sandwich with garlic fries. The flavor was great, but it needed more sauce and the bread was too hard. The fries needed more garlic too. My wife had the Italian sandwich with Cesar salad. The sandwich had really good flavor, and was nicely done. Their Cesar dressing was the bomb. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. Try it out.
My friend and I caught this out of the corner of our eyes while driving to Sportsman's Warehouse. Before we went in I looked them up on Yelp, reviews were only 3.5, however, I always take reviews with a grain of salt. We went in and everything was perfect, great food, service, and atmosphere. We ordered 2 bug beers, he ordered a Calzone and I ordered a 10" Pizza. His Calzone was massive and my Pizza was on point. I can't wait to bring my family here. Please go in and experience it yourself, you won't regret it.
Beback rating- Asap! About a year ago we tried to eat here but no one was manning the front and we left because no one showed up to greet us after 5 minutes of standing. Maybe it was the government checks to stay home so not enough people wanted to go back to work. Tonight was a different story. We were welcomed and seated quickly. I had the shrimp scampi which was delicious even though I like my scampi with more garlic and lemon. The bread was an excellent side with a good amount of shrimp. The buffalo shrimp appetizer was breaded and fried with a ranch sauce that had a little kick to it. My friend had a bolognese pasta. He didn’t comment much about it other than it was good. We topped off the evening with gelato ice cream. I had the cappuccino chip, I believe, and it was great…not too sweet and a lot of coffee flavor. The service was excellent as the waitress and manager were upbeat and friendly. So I will be back soon to try something else there like a lasagna or meatball sub or a make your own pizza. Good job everyone!
2021 Update : We still Love this place! Even when every place in town has a wait time of l an hour or more, Skipolinis always has more than enough room for us. The staff is still wonderful, the food is still delicious and the atmosphere inside and out are a huge win for us. Bonus: If you have small children, they have a really great kids 'play place' out side. Highly Recommend sitting out side on the couch by the fire and enjoying the sunset on a beautiful day like today. 2019 : We are big fans! The food is always good, staff is always friendly & it's really great for last minute date nights.
Decent kid environment. The server was new and did a great job. Overall, pricey. Almost $100 for 2 kids under 6 and 2 adults.
The first time I went here, which was 2 weeks ago, the Mediterranean pasta was to die for. As was the Brushetta. Tonight, everything was bland, underseasoned, missing ingredients in the dish itself, and just not at all like the first time. I was so disappointed and a little embarrassed since I talked this place up so much. The chef needs a few lessons on making sauces for sure. A garlic white wine sauce should probably have garlic in it. As well as salt and other seasonings. Mine tasted like dishwater with ill prepared eggplant and a few other vegetables tossed in. Such a bummer.
We visited Skipolinis last week for dinner and had a mixed experience. We sat on the patio, which was a great spot, especially because they have a nice playground with a slide where the kids could play for hours. This was definitely a big plus for families! However, the food left a lot to be desired. You could really taste the low quality of the ingredients. For appetizers, we had the fried calamari, which was actually quite good — the only standout dish of the meal. Then we tried the Skip’s Dip, and unfortunately, it was not great. The oil that was supposed to be olive oil tasted like cheap oil, and the vinegar used was similarly low quality. The bread that came with it wasn’t tasty either. For the main course, we had the All Meat Pizza, which again, felt like it was made with cheap ingredients. On a positive note, the drinks were enjoyable. We had the Tahoe Brizz cocktail and a glass of champagne, both of which were good. While the food didn’t meet our expectations, we’ll definitely be back for the playground. Next time, we’ll stick to calamari and drinks!
This was my first time visiting the Rocklin location. The service was great and fast. They also have a good selection of beer, although it is not on the menu. The food I had was okay. It lacked flavor. It looked amazing, but all you tested was pesto. I understand that was the main component, but the chicken should have flavor. The garlic fry was not great either. I chose it thinking I would not need any additional sauce, but you definitely will need ketchup, ranch, or some other sauce with it.
The wine menu has a nice selection. Started with a Caesar salad. Yum. Plus the cheesy garlic bread that comes with ranch. Good so far. Now for dinner. I ordered the Ravioli with 2 sauces... Pesto and roasted garlic Alfredo. Yum! So much food - taking it home. My husband ordered simple spaghetti with vegetables. The marinara is very tart. Needed a dash of sugar. The vegetables (broccoli) are overcooked and soggy! This is NOT Italian dining.
The food was good, a little overpriced, from my opinion.. Camari Fritti, Ravioli Fritti were good. (Appetizing Appetizer 😉) Lasagna was different, wasn't taste like "typical" lasagna, kinda bitter taste?(strong cheese maybe?) didn't like it much, pasta that my husband got was pretty tasty tho (don't know the name) our server was friendly and nice.
Disappointing and expensive. We came for a pre-movie lunch & ordered The veggie pizza. Both zucchini & tomatoes were added after the pizza was cooked. I'm not sure who enjoys uncooked veg & fruit on their pizza but we did not. The sauce lacked flavor as if they opened a can of tomato sauce & said "Screw it, this will do." Crust was good and cooked well. That's the best thing I can say. A medium veggie and 2 soft drinks came in at $55 without the tip.
Ordered 5 different dishes 3 app .. service excellent no problem . Mac n cheese how do you make this worse than box no flavor at all taste like boiled noodles with cheese slap on top salt couldn't save it. Chicken marsala suger seen like the entire season used for the sauce . Chicken seemed boiled than thrown on top of the dish top with suger sauce didn't taste a hit of wine or herb anything at all .. mashed potatoes taste like nothing but Heavy cream no chive no garlic onion no seasoning of any kind just skipolinis all seasoning period.
