I stopped here for a salad and scotch. Fantastic salad, great conversation at the bar, super service. I wish I lived in the area; I would be back!

The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, the restaurant is special, romantic, quiet, you can talk quietly, each dish has a different taste, I would come again, I am a chef but I like to have different tastes.

Great service, great live music and great food! We came late on a Saturday night and I believe our servers name was Marcus. I would definitely go again, it is a bit expensive though. My husband thought it was the best garlic bread he has ever had plus a comfortable atmosphere!

We always enjoy the specials at the Oar House but the crab claws are main stay. Crab butter and garlic - how can you go wrong???? We had the flounder with crab meat and it was awesome.

Went today for the first time! What can I say besides that it’s an excellent place! Loved everything; the atmosphere, the service, the food, etc. We’ll be back soon!!!

From the moment you walk in the service is exceptional. The waiter and cook couldn't get any better. The food was fabulous. I would totally recommend this restaurant.

I love coming here to finish out my work day or just to read my paper and watch a game! I've only ever set at the bar because the bartender, Kris, is by far the greatest customer service experience I've ever had anywhere! She's very attentive, quick, and always remembers her guest. The food is delish. I usually start with the Escargot. Very consistent. Buttery and very flavorful. I've had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and veggies, the lasagna and one of the pastas and each one was delishious and full of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent, chefy, white tablecloth Italian food. A little pricey but well worth the extra cost. I had the linguini wit muscles and clams in white wine garlic sauce. My friend had the chicken parmesan.

Quaint Italian restaurant in a good spot near the lake. Though it is not on the water it carries a coastal vibe throughout. The escargot was delicious. It's true, I love butter and garlic. The bread was also drenched in butter, as it should be. The salad was crisp and fresh. I had FUSSILI PUGNOCCHIUSO as my main. Sauteed noodles turns out are not my favorite. They are a little harder than what I expected, but still tasted good. It was a texture thing for me. The servers were attentive with water and drinks. I would go back if I'm in the area again.

January 23rd we visited The Oar House in Rockwall, near the Harbor. Established about 20 years ago, The Oar House is simply Rockwall! I give this place 5 stars and here’s why: the Oar house is quiet, romantic, cozy, rustic yet elegant, with authentic wood floors with brick and cobblestone accents. The décor and authentic feel of an old, expensive cruise ship is strongly represented here. Think Titanic meets pirate ship. The crisp, white table cloths give The Oar House a formal nuance while the rustic floors and ceilings balance out the ambiance with a more relaxed feel. The prices are on the high side but the food and service are impeccable! For appetizers, we had the large, button mushrooms filled with veal and seasoned with a lovely balance of rosemary and thyme in a creamy tomato sauce which was perfect for dipping our fresh garlic bread. We also shared the baby clams in a creamy sauce. I’m not much of a shellfish person, but the sauce on these was delicious! Each week, the chef at The Oar House, puts together a special menu that is ever changing so I ordered sole, garlic mashed potatoes and a perfectly cooked veg medley from among the few “Chef’s Choice” dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection! This came with a side salad which was fresh and delicious! Duane kept it simple with a bowl of lobster bisque and he described it as rich with multiple layers of flavor, the best he’s had, and a cross between lobster bisque and roasted pepper soup, which sang to him! This place is going to be one of our favorites! We were invited to return for lunch, as the menu is slightly different. Dress was business casual and price was about $50 per person including drink and appetizer. Menu posted below. The Ore House

Still one of best restaurants in Rockwall. An oldie, but great food & service, which is rare. Great selection of steak, seafood, pork, soups, salads; great wine list, and always Chef Specials nightly. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.

Every now and again you eat at a place that feels like you have been going there forever. You know what I mean, where they know your name, always happy you came, atmosphere is outstanding, and the food and service feels like home. I found that here at The Oar House. Whether you eat at the bar with Chris (she is amazing), or at a table, this place serves you like family. The food is consistent, and I waited till my 4th visit to review because anyone can get lucky once. All 4 times I kept my order the same and every time it was dead on. I would like more land options for appetizers, but other than that it is amazing. The patio is a romantic seating option or sit inside where the ambiance is quaint and quiet. I cannot say enough about this place. If you wanna romantic experience or a first date option, this is your place. Enjoy it, I always do!

This is a great spot! The food was incredible, wine was reasonably priced, and service was fantastic. Our server was Robert and he was friendly and attentive. Despite being extremely busy, their food quality and service were not negatively affected. I highly recommend making a reservation if you go. We will definitely return for our next special occasion! Heads up for fellow vegetarians - there are not many meatless options on their menu, but they were happy to modify my entree for me. Also, avoid looking around the walls too much, because there are many heads of dead animals ☠️

I can't believe we waited so long to try this place. The food, service, and atmosphere are incredible. We had the eggplant appetizer from the list of specials, then the filet in a cognac, pepper cream sauce, and the veal in a mushroom cream sauce. We also had the chocolate mousse cake with an added scoop of ice cream for fun. We enjoyed every bite and look forward to going back soon! Edited on 1/28/25 to add that we went back tonight and had another great dinner. The Oar House is such a cozy space. Servers are nice and know the menu. I added some pics of Pasta Carbonara, Chicken Principeza, Crème Brûlée, and Pecan Pie. All delicious!

What a great meal - with awesome service! (Thanks to Jenna and the while team!). They really spoiled us with service - very attentive to details - water glass never made it to less than half, great garlic bread that kept coming! Meals were all amazing! Pollo Agilo Olio, Pollo Parmigiano, Rombo Al Granchio ( Halibut with crab meat), Tricia Al Burro (red snapper with lobster). All delicious!!! Highly recommend enjoying a fabulous dinner here!

We opted to have lunch at The Oar House with a business lunch in mind on a Friday and wanted a place that would not be loud and intrusive. It had been years since I had visited, but I was still hopeful for a good lunch, excellent service, and an atmosphere to be relaxed. We were not disappointed. Before we selected a place to eat, we all looked at online menus to get an idea of what sounded good to everyone. The pricing is not what made our decisions, but it should be noted that the menu you are handed in the restaurant has a few items with higher pricing than the online menu. I would recommend they correct that for transparency's sake. This meal alone was $19, more expensive than the online menu. I am not complaining, but that's an extra lunch entrée at additional costs. Now, I got lost in conversation and did not get nearly enough photos, but did grab a few here and there. When we arrived at 11:45 am, the parking lot had only a few cars. Lunch service runs from 11 am to 2 pm, and they close again until dinner. When we walked in, two of my business partners and one of their wives and I were greeted warmly and guided to our table. The place was clean and well-lit but not bright, which is always a plus. The decorations seemed well maintained, the ones we noticed. I was reminded of all the many trips here in the past as the rustic interior welcomed us in. The little touches like stained glass windows and old world style feel made the place feel like we were no longer in little ol Rockwall. Our server took our orders for drinks promptly, and we opted for a few appetizers to share. We ordered the Funghetti Ripieni, bruschetta, and Cozze al Vino Bianco. Bread and butter were served at the table as well. We ordered Spezzatino di Manzo, Suprema Al Ferro, Caeser con Pollo, Ravioli Di Formaggio, and lobster bisque for lunch. Overall the meal and the experience was amazing. The food was great, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I love the old, cozy feel of the place. It feels like you are in a comfortable, warm place with an appealing atmosphere. The server, Ryan, was terrific. We felt like the only people in the place the entire meal. Even though there were a few other people there, the service was top-notch. The Oar House will stay in my rotation of places for a while. They continue to impress and provide great food and service; with a few tweaks, they will be just that much better. We over stayed our welcome and got lost in conversation. We looked up and it was well past 2pm, and they had already shut down. They were patiently waiting on us and never interrupted our conversation one time. We apologized for keeping them past 2pm, and they were very kind. They kindly said, not a problem at all. Happy you enjoyed your time. Come see us again. I can say that I will continue to go and will keep them in the rotation for sure.

This is a very nice restaurant right on the lake. My friends and I had different items. I had the linguine with clams and mussels with a white wine garlic sauce. I also had a cup of lobster bisque, which was also amazing. As the table we also had the sharable fried calamari with the side of fresh maranaria. One of my other friends chicken parm which looked great. You need to get in and try this place!!!

We had a great experience at The Oar House! The steak and calamari were absolutely perfect—definitely the highlights of our meal. The spaghetti was just okay, but everything else made up for it. Our waiter was super friendly and professional, making us feel welcome the whole time. We really enjoyed sitting outside on a cool day—the outdoor area is lovely. Inside, the decor is warm and inviting, though the smell of food can be a bit strong. Prices are on the higher side, but overall, we had a wonderful time. It’s a great spot to treat yourself once in a while!

The Oar House was fantastic! The traditional lasagna was rich and delicious, and the spaghetti carbonara was perfectly creamy with great flavor. The garlic bread they send out too is top notch! Cozy atmosphere, great service, and amazing food all around. A perfect spot for any celebration and an excellent Italian meal!

My boyfriend and I went here for valentines last year and got their valentines menu for $100 per person, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The service was great and they were very helpful at giving recommendations. We got crab cakes, ratatouille(my boyfriend LOVED), clam chowder, and a NY strip. They gave us a vanilla cake a prosecco with justice for dessert and it was fantastic. Would definitely come back for this experience.

The Oar House in Rockwall was an amazing Valentine’s dinner experience. Everything from the food to the service was absolutely top-notch. The seabass was cooked perfectly — flavorful, tender, and one of the best I’ve had. My wife ordered the steak, and it was incredibly tender and cooked exactly right. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The service was flawless from start to finish. The manager, Will, did an outstanding job ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we had a great experience. His attention to detail and professionalism really stood out. This was a memorable evening, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend The Oar House to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Rockwall.

Enjoyed a business dinner with a party of 4. They provided a nice corner booth that served us well for quiet discussions. I ordered a group special and was not dissappointed. Portion was a little larger than I needed but tasted so I good I finished it. Sauce on the fish was the highlight. A few less onions in the sauce would have been better for me. For dessert I can a classic Italian fruit with cream. In the Oar House case it has a bit of white chocolate in the cream that was well done. They also had a small room in the front of the restaurant that would be perfect for a party of 6 or 8 for a business meeting.

Fantastic service. We absolutely loved our food. We had the bruschetta, escargot, chicken Parmesan, and spaghetti carbonara. The staff were extremely accommodating, and the early dinner atmosphere was perfect for our small kids and got us out before they got busy for the evening. Can’t wait to go back.

Went here for the first time for Father's Day and had a great meal! All the food was delicious -- some of the best bruschetta and chicken parmesan I've had, and the seafood lovers were happy with their meals. The server (Savannah) was very sweet and not trying to rush us or churn tables at all (could have been a bit quicker at some points tbh). We'll definitely be back!

We ate here for my wife's birthday and it was great! The service was amazing and the food and drink options were great! We wanted to eat so much more than we could! We got a bottle of wine and shared the stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer. Then we both got different versions of the veal scallopini - which were scrumptious! They gave my wife a free dessert for her birthday so she picked the cheesecake and was quite pleased!

First time here- My wife and I came for a 1yr anniversary dinner. The service from all the staff was lovely- Friendly & attentive. Food was amazing. Gorgonzola salads, chicken Parmesan & pecan pie were delicious. It’s been a long time since I’ve been excited about a restaurant. I’ve never been able to give a review about one, with top marks across the board. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I spent the day hunting around for incredible food for our 3 year anniversary. This was our first time at the OAR House and it was absolutely incredible! The service was so fast, the waitress was incredibly kind, and the bartender was so fun! The food was so delicious that we kept ordering food and wine throughout our lunch experience. They even brought us a beautiful anniversary dessert!

Dobber had a great idea and if the owner now is smart, he will not deviate with nonsense. Bring back the lobster crepes Now. Keep high quality food and monitor the class of any event you plan. Rockwall is spoiled by Dobber's genius...you are losing uour direction.

Since we live some distance away, we usually visit here for special occasions. Service is invariably prompt, friendly and efficient. Escargot is the special draw for us--wife loves it and they do a very good job with it. Heart of palm salad very good. Both filet mignons, peppercorn and cognac, always excellent. Good wine selection and nice dessert choices.

My husband and I ate here for Valentine’s Day and we had a great experience! This was our second time coming here, the first being for our birthday two years ago. I ordered the carbonara and absolutely LOVED it. For two years, I have thought about this carbonara and when discussing where to go for Valentine’s Day this year, I knew this was exactly where I wanted to go. I of course ordered the carbonara and it was still just as good as I remembered it being two years ago. Best carbonara I’ve ever eaten! I’ll never make it myself knowing I’d have to compare it to this haha. Always a lovely time eating here and the waitstaff is always super friendly and attentive. We will be back!

We came to Oar House Dec 23 for a date night, it was our first time and certainly will not be our last! The staff was accommodating and friendly, the food was excellent, the ambiance was lovely and we left full and happy! Our table was a little on the small side, but it didn’t detract from the meal. We had: Shrimp cocktail: delicious Maialetto arrosto: the star of the show! Incredible dish, it’s rare I like a pork chop better than a steak! Bistecchino Di Manzo: delicious Chocolate cake with coffee: *perfect* end to the meal Definitely get reservations well in advance- they book up fast for a reason!

Food was yummy! Big wine list. Small drink menu. You need a reservation to make sure you get a table. Waitress was very friendly. We ended up dining in the patio where they have this pretty fountain. Very chill ambiance.

Food: Soooooo good. Crab claws, salad, lasagna, pork chop. All very tasty! Service: Slow at 1st when busy, better when it slowed. I'm gluten free, made that clear. Server acted like she was educated on that and would care for any sauce that was not gf. When they brought my pork Chop she did put sauce on the side "in case" and said " I think it's okay". I told her I can't eat something you " think" is okay. I need to know what's in it. She got the manager and he confirmed it was not and took it away. I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal with no issues. Atmosphere: really nice, laid back but still upscale. However it was very hot! Price: 4 drinks, appetizer, salad 2 entrees about $150. Not bad! I will definitely be going back.

First impression by hostess was horrible. I had made reservations online for lunch two weeks ago for 3 at 11:30 and got a confirmation message. My friend called to confirm they were actually open for lunch. Asked about my reservation, which they didn't have, so she made a reservation over the phone. We got there for lunch today and they didn't have my reservation nor hers and were rudely told they couldn't seat us because they were totally booked! I showed my confirmation and the hostess walked away and left us standing there and never returned. A waiter finally came and said "follow me". Brandon was excellent, food was good, but our first impression will never be forgotten! You only get one chance to make that first impression!!

My wife and I tried the Oar House for dinner and enjoyed our meal and experience. It is a quant restaurant with good food and excellent service. The meal portions are large and presented eloquently on the plate. My only complaint is our white wine was delivered warm and required ice to bring it to the proper temperature. Overall this is a nice place with above average food and service.

K

Very pleasant dinner at the Oar House. The food was quite good. I had the filet in cognac sauce and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the veal and it was excellent. Hearts of palm salad was fine, if bland. Mousse cake was good.

This is such a lovely restaurant with great atmosphere and the food was excellent. We sat for way too long before we asked if anyone was assigned to our table. It was the night before Valentine’s Day so the restaurant was busy. Still the service should have been better.

The food was amazing. Our waitress on the other hand very unattentive. We literally had to wait 30 minutes to order after we'd been sitting there an hour and then when we needed more water it took her another 30 minutes.

Dec. 8 th 12-1pm Lunch , no crowd, Been waiting to try this place , Had a party of 4 . Sadly, I didn’t like my meal , it had this weird flavor , I didn’t eat it . Waitress never asked why I didn’t eat my food . She also didn’t seem concerned, Everyone else liked there dishes . Ambiance was as expected , older place, been open here for a long time , you have to reserve here . It’s an older Italian restaurant, we sat in a circular booth . However , My guests enjoyed the food . Sometimes you are not as good as you once were . I may give it another chance .

We booked last minute on a Sunday and was able to get a table. The food was top notch and the atmosphere is awesome - I love the rustic design. The second time we went was actually very bad. - service was super slow - the food was not good. Salads were drenched and you couldn't take anything but the dressing. - I asked for a Pasta and multiple times asked for very low source. It came out soaking in sauce - carbonara should be with minimal sauce but I guess it is not Carbonara they are making - Fish didn't feel fresh... - We were a group of 5 adults and 2 young kids. They added 20% calling it a Large Group. We are not going back. Too bad, as it is close to our house and good restaurants are hard to find in the area.

B
Bryan Cundiff

The first time we went to The Oar House we were pleased. This time, not so much. Disappointed to say the least. First, the prices are much higher than those posted on their website. I guess prices are rising so fast they cannot keep up. Salads were rusty. Her $40 scallops were cut up into small pieces. Who chops scallops? Really. Who thinks it is a good idea to do that? It made the scallops cook quicker and, as a result, they were tough. I had the chicken parm. Hard to screw that up. $15 a glass for the house Cabernet? $120 for two plates of pasta and a couple of drinks. Our server, Lacey, was great.

C
Carl Ackermann

My wife and I recently moved to the area and I've tried most of the local restaurants but wanted to try this one. We love Italian I thought this would be great. We really wanted to like it. First let's start with the food, they say they're Northern Italian restaurant but had no Northern Italian dishes like risotto or even a variety of pasta. Almost everything had mushrooms in it even when it is not supposed to. The carbonara had asparagus and mushrooms which you would never see in Italy again with the mushrooms. The garlic bread was a hoagie roll from a local grocery store partly toasted. There was a lot of fish on the menu. The safe bet was the chicken parmesan the chicken was okay but the pasta was so salty we did not eat it. The wine list was fairly good and we did have a barbaresco at a very reasonable price that was the highlight of the evening

J
Joe Hernandez

Wife and I decided to dine for our date night. Unfortunately, our waiter was not very attentive. We requested no potato as a side and requested they be replaced with vegetables. Once our food arrived, both our dinners came with potatoes and no vegetables. We finally got the waiters attention but sadly, by the time the vegetables arrived, we were done with dinner. For the cost, we could and more than likely, will dine elsewhere. In my opinion, bad service makes for a bad experience regardless of how our meal is prepared.

L
Larry Moore

I didn't like the lamb, but the bar had a good selection.

J
Juicyjenhealth

Well not as exciting as once was.. this visit , I ordered the lobster with soup no lobster and then I had the Caesar salad with little brown spines and then I ordered the halibut which seemed a bit fishy and the sauce or textures were just a little weird to me.. prayers I don't get sick.. side note for having such an extensive menu of wine and only offering two by the glass that are absolutely disgusting pinot noirs.. is awful.. you basically have to buy $100 bottle just to get a good glass of pinot noir in there..just a heads up 😜😁 Not sure why there's been so many changes that it seems like it's going downhill.

C
Christopher Edgecomb

Very mediocre food and service at very proud prices. We went for daye night and had a babysitter at home. Party of two, not busy at all inside. Ordered crab claws as appetizer, came out cold and sauce had hardened. After a 1 hr wait we got our side salads, which were soggy and essentially just boxed spring mix from the store. After a 1 1/2 hr wait, we decided to just pay for what we got and leave. They attempted to bring our food out at this time, the seafood had a horrible odor that I wouldn't want to eat anyways. No way it was fresh. Manager was nice about it, knocked the entrees off our bill. Offered to box it up for us, but we declined. We paid for what we had and left. Ended up getting a Papa John's Pizza on the way home. I don't what happened to this place, but I do have certain expectations for certain prices. Probably won't be returning.

We were excited to try The Oar House, we have heard good things about it. Drinks were good, bruschetta was yummy, Caesar salad was different but good, lobster bisque was very good. My husband enjoyed his chicken Parm. Let me start by saying we waited over an hour for food after our appetizer and soup/salad course. The bartender refilled our water a few times, no one asked if we wanted drink refills for that entire hour. Our dinner finally comes, I ordered spaghetti carbonara, well it’s supposed to come with pork, usually either pork belly or bacon. Well in the entire dish, I found one tiny piece, not even bite sized, other than that is was cream of mushroom soup over spaghetti. So disappointing, nothing like any carbonara I have ever had. When I brought it to our waiters attention he offered to remake it…well I wasn’t interested in waiting AGAIN, at this point we have been there over 2 hours! They took the one dish off our bill, no one came and talked to us, nothing was done to try to rectify the problem. We love a nice dinner and this was so disappointing. They have good food, not sure where the disconnect was but I am all about customer service and there wasn’t any here unfortunately

We have been once before and had a better experience. Unfortunately, this was too highly priced for mediocre food, incredibly slow service, and our "large party" of five adults and two small children which was subject to an automatic gratuity of 20% - inappropriate considering we got 5 entrees and one small pasta with butter for both kids. Both kids were frustrated and laying down in the booth half asleep after waiting almost 30 minutes for the soups and salads, and another 20 for the rest of the food. We ordered one appetizer, two salads, five entrees and two beers and $341 and two hours later we left very disappointed in the entire experience.

Appetizers (escargot and calamari) were good and the highlight of the meal. The main course had larger portions but the food was disappointing. I knew better than to order it but was curious and ordered "spaghetti carbonara" which is made with a parmesan cream sauce. There's a reason carbonara isn't a cream sauce and a reason you don't put cream sauces on spaghetti... We also ordered the filet with brandy peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked correctly but the sauce was more of a brown pepper gravy and completely overpowered the plate. Service was friendly but both the bar and the kitchen were incredibly slow.

on 2.29.20 went here with a friend and we were not impressed, the waiter never checked on us or refilled our drinks, he just walk pass our table. the food came and the fish wasn't cooked, it tasted like sushi. we requested extra steam spinach, it came but not steamed. we told the waiter our experience and he just ignored it. yet we left a good cash tip. parking was another problem, you dont want to park at the far left side because you will be stuck. its extremely difficult to back out the only good thing here was the nice and friendly front door lady who welcomed us with a smile and got us a table.

I was really disappointed the steak had 0 flavor I asked for rare and they overcooked it to medium. The garlic bread was dry and had no garlic on it. Also the scallops did not smell fresh, you do not get what you pay for.

Went for anniversary date night and walking up to the restaurant was the strong smell of sewer, which is a turn off, they couldn't find our reservation and after fumbling around, tried to seat us right by the hostess station and front door. When we declined they found an appropriate table in a side room. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. Bread was straight out of a bag. $49 jumbo shrimp entree arrived in a cereal bowl with those rubbery frozen bagged shrimp, in a clear gravy that could have only come out of a can. I don't mind paying for a nice meal but at that price point I would expect a chef in the back who's tossing a few fresh ingredients together. Spouse had scallops and it was similar. I have not been there in over 6 yrs so not sure if mgmt has changed but I definitely will not be going back and would not recommend if you're looking for seafood.

Beyond disappointing. Been here before, and it was excellent. What happened to this place? Brought my mother for her birthday today. Server was kind, but when people don’t eat what the order do the math. The salads looked like something from a package and a can. I can make better at home. Zero flavor. No regular ice tea. The bread, not fresh and cold. The pasta, no words. Olive Garden serves better. The shrimp and angel hair was soupy. The chicken Alfredo looked a step above a frozen dinner.

I was taken to this restaurant on a date thinking it was Italian food. They did not offer their full menu on Valentines day. It was a fixed menu and it was not good. Salmon with pineapple and Chipotle sauce is not Italian. The service was so slow three tables left that came in after us. They received all courses before we could even get our second course. Atmosphere so crowded and loud it was not pleasant. I do not recommend.

Service was great. Food was very unimpressive. Extremely overpriced for lack of flavor and fresh ingredients.

Service bad bad. Came here to celebrate my anniversary and they said they are reservations only. It was a regular Tuesday night. What in the world? ZERO STARS.

I STRONGLY DO NOT RECCOMEND. We had a party of 13 on a Friday night and reservations were made. It took 2 hours to get our order and be served dinner. We ordered Shrimp cocktail and calamari and was told after 30 minutes that the fryer was broke and could not do the calamari. So we had shrimp scampi instead. The shrimp scampi was cold and really flavorless. They served bread that was limp and had no flavor but felt damp. I ordered a salad with Italian dressing and a beef spicy dish with roasted veggies. That took another 20 minutes to get the salad. It was VERY limp and tasted like it didn't have any dressing at all. So limp i couldn't stab it a fork. After bout another 50 minutes we got our main course which was ok but pretty skimpy. I left feeling hungry, With tips, i spent nearly $90 for 2. My local Plano Italian restaurant is 10 times better and faster and costs less.

This place was horrible. No spaghetti and meatballs, ordered lasagna instead, it was obviously re heated, wasn’t hot throughout, my wife had hard bay leaves in her sauce and the entire bottom lasagna noodle was brown and disgusting. She couldn’t even finish hers, and I only ate it b/c we were starving after traveling all day and did not feel like waiting on another dish. The first garlic bread was burned, the second undercooked. Told the waiter about everything and he didn’t even send the manager over. Just heard this place may be shutting down, I can understand why! Wish I had known before we paid $56 for reheated lasagna!!! 🤢

1-Star Review: The Oar House – Rockwall, TX What a complete disappointment. We were looking forward to a great dinner at The Oar House on Friday night, October 3rd, and it ended up being an absolute disaster from start to finish. We arrived at 6:50 PM to a restaurant that was maybe 40% full. You’d think service would be smooth with that kind of volume, wrong. Our server showed up quickly to take our order, and that was the last time he moved with any urgency or attention. Our appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive, and our entrées never came out at all. After an hour and a half of waiting with two tired kids, we finally had to ask for our food to go. Not once did our server offer an explanation for the delay, not from the kitchen, not from management, not even an apology. Just silence and indifference. To top it off, when we finally got the food home, it was cold, poorly prepared, and absolutely not worth the $185 we spent. Garbage would be a generous description. This restaurant used to be a Rockwall landmark, now it’s nothing more than a has-been coasting on its past reputation. The service was pathetic, the food was subpar, and the lack of accountability was unbelievable. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration, don’t waste a night at The Oar House. Rockwall has plenty of better options that actually care about their customers.
