We visit this restaurant every time we come to Rome. It’s a great Tuscan menu with Roman pastas - the best of both worlds…. and the Bistecca Fiorentina is delicious- perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Caprese salad was amazing - perfect tomatoes even in January. Every time we’ve been it’s been a full house. Reservation recommended.

It’s my 7th visit to Rome and one of the best restaurants i’ve visited so far! Steak tar-tar is amazing, generous portion! Starter with mozzarella, meat, grilled vegetables is highly recommend (to share, it’s quite big). What we really appreciated is wine selection! A huge book!) Me personally i’m a fan of Primitivo, they have 5 types! Normally one option is already luck in restaurants in Rome. Service is attentive and professional. Bravo.

This place is stunning, its very beautiful almost art gallery like. Food is amazing, they have dishes for every taste. Our outmost favorite is the Steak tartare that gets prepared at your table with the outmost care. Its a most try in Rome!

My best meal/experience in all of Italy. The restaurant staff are amazing!! They picked a great wine for us (best of our trip). The gentlemen also poured and refilled our glasses throughout the meal. The staff are amazingly attentive!!

100% recommended, and would definitely come back as the whole package was great, food and service, while the atmosphere was very nice and chill. We had for starters a little spicy focaccia on the house (completely fell in love with it). Then we've ordered a caprese salad and a carbonara, which they both were delicious. To finish we had a really creamy and yummy tiramisu. Qualiity-Prize it's pretty reasonable.

Oh my god, a very professional italian restaurant, if you want to get a real traditional italian steak, definatly go. Old and traditional staff with funny accents. Very very helpful people and they always respect the customer. They understand medium rare. I loved it and recommend. They even waited for us to finish, then they closed the restaurant.

If you’re in Rome and looking for amazing food without falling into the usual tourist traps, this is the place. We started with classic Italian appetizers—cured meats, fresh mozzarella, creamy burrata, and those unbelievably sweet local tomatoes. The pasta that followed was spot-on, and the grilled shrimp and calamari couldn’t have been fresher. As for the Fiorentina steak? Perfectly done. But the real showstopper was dessert: a wild strawberry sorbet that was out of this world. Honestly, I’d fly back next spring just to taste it again. Don’t skip this spot!

An outstanding dining experience in Rome. The restaurant offers authentic Roman and Italian cuisine with impeccable service and high standards. We started with classic appetizers – a fine selection of cold cuts, burrata, and fresh tomatoes – followed by truly excellent pasta. The grilled seafood, including shrimp and calamari, was prepared with great care. The Fiorentina steak was cooked to perfection. However, the real masterpiece was the dessert: a homemade wild strawberry sorbet, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Worth returning to Rome for that alone.

Fantastic place, most tender flavorful piece of beef in Italy. My first steak Florentine experience. In a fancy upscale neighborhood. Cute old fashioned servers dress up shirt and tie. Best pasta, fresh truffles, fantastic wine. 5 star experience with very reasonable price.

We had a fantastic meal on New Year's Eve. I was glad I made a reservation early as the restaurant was packed with friendly local folks who celebrated the occasion with us. Service was kind and helpful and selected a delicious Cabernet to accompany our perfectly cooked rare/mid-rare chateaubriand, carved table side, along with potatoes and veggies. We started with ribollita tuscana soup for me and ravioli with spinach and ricotta for her. After tiramisu, we were treated to traditional holiday desserts, lentils (good luck for the New Year), limoncello and even fireworks! Thank you, Giarrosto, for such a great time. Buon anno!!! 👍🏼🙏🏼❤️🇮🇹🥂🎆

Love this place! We had Fiorentina steak which was better than what we had in Florence, the seafood Tagliolini was highly recommended as well. The gentleman who served us treated us like family, he gave us complimentary homemade limoncello and tiramisu made us felt like home, what a meal, what a night!

Had the most amazing dinner here last night. We were recommended this restaurant from the concierge in our hotel. The food is simplicity executed perfectly. Se cercate un posto al centro di Roma, tranquillo , tipico e di qualità ( non turistico) questo ristorante fa al caso vostro. un locale che ha conosciuto e vissuto i fasti della "dolce vita" data la prossimità a Via Veneto, ma che, nonostante la pressione del turismo internazionale, data la prossimità al centro e ai principali alberghi di lusso, resiste proponendo pietanze, principalmente di carne, di altissima qualità, che giustificano quindi la spesa, forse eccessiva. Il servizio è formale, come la boiserie in legno che arreda lo storico locale.

Ottima carne e primi. Meglio prenotare perché è molto frequentato sopratutto da turisti stranieri. Rievoca all'interno ambienti anni 60 ed è collocato in un luogo strategico in centro a Roma. Consigliato.

We are here last night and for what we paid, it was pretty average - disappointingly we were pretty much show to a table inside, tucked away in a corner - outside was buzzing. We opted for the chateaubriand which was OK and a bottle of Brunelo which was delicious - after eating we were rushed to order our deserts and we still had a quarter bottle of wine left which we wanted to enjoy but feeling pressured,.ordered dessert which pretty much came out straight away. Having spent 181e we came away feeling disappointed and a tiny bit ripped off :(

Ristorante "vecchia gloria"! Cameriere criticabile, il cibo sicuramente sufficiente ma non all'altezza della fama. Riconosco che mi hanno concesso l'entrata al cagnolino, ma fortemente criticabile che pur di non rinunciare a una prenotazione, i tavoli erano ad una vicinanza tale da rendere scomodi movimenti e conversazione. I prezzi giustificati dalla vicinanza a Via Veneto. Sicuramente non tornerò.

Era andato tutto piuttosto bene fino a quando non ci hanno iniziato a sollecitare incalzantemente di liberare il tavolo. Ci hanno chiesto se volevamo il caffè mentre eravamo ancora ai dolci e dopo poco tempo ci hanno portato il conto quando stavamo finendo i dolci. Poi un cameriere mentre serviva altri tavoli ci ha chiaramente detto che gli serviva il tavolo. Piuttosto spiacevole e maleducato. Comprendo la necessità di accontentare la gente in fila ma questo non può inficiare l'esperienza del cliente. Ero con dei clienti stranieri che non hanno gradito affatto quindi indirettamente ho anche fatto una brutta figura io.

LIKE A DINNER AT A FUNERAL HOME Forgive the comparison—but it’s the most accurate one I can make. Our experience felt like dining at a funeral home reception, right after the service. The atmosphere was silent, somber, and sterile. No music. No warmth. Just a procession of servers in burgundy jackets moving quietly and expressionlessly between tables, like pallbearers with plates. Not a smile in sight. We started with prosciutto and melon. Oddly, they arrived on separate plates—four oversized chunks of melon on one, and a modest portion of prosciutto on the other. To be fair, the prosciutto was excellent. But the presentation felt clumsy and disjointed. Perhaps it was meant to be rustic or home-style—but if so, the concept didn’t land. For the main course, we received two hefty slabs of meat. The filet with truffle was decent, nothing more. The ribeye, however, was nearly impossible to chew—tough and joyless. But the biggest disappointment wasn’t the food. It was the vibe. Cold. Condescending. Disconnected. It was as if the entire place had forgotten it was in the business of hospitality. Was the meal absolutely terrible? No. But the atmosphere was—and that alone is enough to keep me from ever returning.

PESSIMO!!!! Della vecchia e gloriosa trattoria Bruni non è rimasto nulla, sarà stato influenzato dall'ubicazione, o dalla stanca dei proprietariormai turistico e privo di qualsiasi attrattiva culinaria. Servizio mediocre e pietanze inaccettabili. Delle decantate specialità toscane di una volta è rimasta soltanto la dicitura sui menu turistici plastificati e grassi presentati ai malcapitati commensali: carne alla brace impresentabile (lessa!!!!), vegetali bolliti prima di essere fritti, panatura come ad un fast food, nemmeno i mitici fagioli cannellini si sono salvati, una vera pappa, non propinabili nemmeno nella peggiore delle caserme. Dulcis in fundo, conto da ristorante di livello. Non lo consiglierei a nessuno.
