Sono rimasto davvero conquistato da questo ristorante. La cucina casalinga è deliziosa, fatta con cura e con sapori autentici che ricordano quelli di una volta. Ogni piatto è preparato con ingredienti di qualità e si sente l’attenzione ai dettagli. La selezione di vini è eccellente e si abbina perfettamente alle proposte del menu. Un ringraziamento speciale a Marco, il cameriere, che con la sua professionalità, gentilezza e attenzione ha reso l’esperienza ancora più piacevole. Il suo servizio impeccabile è stato davvero la ciliegina sulla torta. Un posto che consiglio senza esitazioni e al quale non vedo l’ora di tornare.

Locale accogliente in una via traversa di Piazza di Spagna, ideale per una pausa lontano dal caos turistico. Il personale è stato davvero gentile e simpatico, sempre attento e con il sorriso. Prezzi assolutamente giusti considerando la zona. Ci siamo trovati molto bene e torneremo sicuramente. Consigliato!

Ho avuto il piacere di cenare all’Osteria al 31 e posso dire senza esitazioni che si tratta di un indirizzo romano davvero imperdibile, soprattutto per chi ama la cucina stagionale e i sapori autentici della tradizione. Il mio percorso gastronomico è iniziato con un antipasto tutto dedicato ai prodotti del momento: puntarelle croccanti e un carciofo alla giudia eseguito alla perfezione, dorato, fragrante e ricco di sapore. A seguire, il piatto che ha davvero lasciato un segno: tonnarelli con carciofi, guanciale e pecorino, un equilibrio straordinario tra la sapidità del guanciale, la cremosità del condimento e la dolcezza dei carciofi. Un primo piatto che da solo vale la visita. Per concludere, una crostata di visciole e ricotta semplicemente deliziosa: friabile, profumata e con quel contrasto tra la dolcezza della ricotta e la nota leggermente acidula delle visciole che conquista al primo assaggio. Da segnalare anche la cantina dei vini, sorprendentemente ampia e ben curata, con etichette capaci di accompagnare alla perfezione ogni portata. Il prezzo è in linea con la qualità delle materie prime, la cura nei piatti e il servizio attento: un investimento che si sente di fare volentieri quando si esce pienamente soddisfatti. In sintesi: Osteria al 31 è una certezza per chi cerca una cucina romana autentica e stagionale, eseguita con mano sapiente. Assolutamente consigliata.

It is worth looking away from the hotspots for small restaurants. We were excited about the appetizer, about pasta to dessert everything was excellent. Prepared very nicely, fresh and tasteful. The ambience is very comfortable and the service very nice and attentive. All in all, an insider tip for Rome!

Giorgio was the BEST server ever. If I can rate him out of 10, he’d be be 15/10. His service was IMPECCABLE! He was so silly, so attentive, and genuinely so so funny! He was so sweet and made me giggle the most. He was a KING for posing for a photo with us! 10/10! If you come to Rome, PLEASE COME HERE! Ask for Giorgio and you’ll have the best time ever!

While visiting and shopping the area where the Spanish Steps are we decided to stop at a street-side café for a spritz. We stopped here because they looked fun and the staff was welcoming and friendly. We ordered a couple Aperol Spritz, which came out quickly and they were great. We also tried their patate fritte (French Fries) and those were outstanding! They were freshly cut and in interesting shapes, fried up to be crispy, and lightly salted! So good! Definitely a nice place to stop in for a snack and drinks!

I can see why there are some lower reviews for this place. Overall our experience was a good one. There were no snacks at all with our apertivo- we came early enough to enjoy some drinks together and then planned to stay for dinner. They did seem to be in a hurry for us to order, which surprised me as there was no line up. The polpette antipasti was very good- a shredded meat which was different but tasty. The Carbonara and Amatriciana were both very well done- great flavour and textures. We were informed that there was no tip added on the bill and we were encouraged to leave a tip in cash. This was the only time in all of our Italy trip this happened. I know this place is closer to the Spanish steps but I thought it was at least far enough away and more of a local place to avoid this type of behaviour. Tasty drinks and food- nice atmosphere.

We were staying at a hotel close by and decided to stop in here for a light dinner. The cocktails and wine were good, but the food was hit or miss. The Polpette was different from any we have had before. The meat was shredded, breaded, and then deep fried. It was more like a Spanish croquette than an Italian Polpette. The aubergine chutney that it was served with was interesting on its on, but it was sweet and not a great pairing with the Polpette in my opinion. Admittedly, this may be a style of preparation that I am simply unfamiliar with. The insalata mista was basic. The most basic and not in a "simple is better" way. The presentation and knife work were what I would expect from a large chain restaurant that pushes quantity over quality, not from a small bistro in Rome. The Amatriciana pasta was the saving grace. It was perfectly al dente, had great flavor, and a nice char to the guanciale. The service was good and the atmosphere was quaint, but not a place I would probably go again unless I was just planning to have pasta.

We were recommended this place by a shop-keeper in this neighbourhood. I had the cacio e pepe which was pretty decent and my wife tried the vongole. This definitely needed some seasoning. Service was friendly but slow. Given their location, pricing was on the higher side for the quality we experienced.

I wouldn’t leave a review except when we paid the server begged us for a tip, making us really uncomfortable and pressured us into giving an addition 5 euro for what we thought was not great service. We also heard the table next to us order their truffle and mushroom pasta special, and when they asked the price they were told €25 but ended up being charger €45. When the asked about it the servers essentially laughed and said “truffles are expensive.” Seems like they rely on tricking tourists and customers into paying more than they expect.

Mi e stata raccomandato questo posto il cameriere di turno uno biondino occhi blu molto antipatico senza sorriso mi ha seduta in tavola, in tavola ce era un piatto sporco e poi lui si ha messo un bel po per tornare a mia tavola dopo di guardare come e di antipatico mi ha passato la voglia di mangiare, il antipatico mi ha mandato un altro cameriere... quel cameriere era atento e ho detto che ce era un piato sporco mi sono alzata e me ne sono andata via subito! Se a quel camariere biondino occhi azzuri non gli piace accogliere alla gente con un sorriso e nemenno gli piace il suo lavoro (se capisce al volo che il lavoro di cameriere non gli piace) deve andare a trovare un altro lavoro perché persone come lui rovinano la voglia di assagiare i piatti alla Osteria!

We saw the mixed reviews and thought maybe it’s just too many negative customers, so we went for it. Food: 3/10. The pasta was undercooked, not just hard, but actually undercooked for both orders (photo attached). We were hungry so we ate it anyway. Service: 10/10. The waiter was nice and friendly. We didn’t communicate our concern as we had to leave. Prices: 1/10 high for such food to be honest. Its a touristic area so if you’re on a budget, avoid here. We also paid 4 euros for bread which is usually free.
