Cibo ottimo di buona qualità soprattutto la carne,servizio altrettanto buono con le suore molto gentili, e l’ambiente è in stile cattolico

Ho cenato insieme a un gruppo di 18 persone. Abbiamo prenotato e scelto in anticipo il menù da 15.50€ (insalata, arrosto di pollo con patatine fritte, torta della nonna). Piatti buoni, curati nel aspetto e porzioni abbondanti, ci hanno addirittura lasciato dei piatti di patatine in più. Finale di serata originale, tutto sommato gradevole. La cortesia e disponibilità delle suore vale da sola il prezzo. La location ottima.

Posto più unico che raro a due passi dal Pantheon. Les Travailleuses Missionnaires de l'Immacolée accolgono meravigliosamente gli ospiti con la loro cuisine française impeccabile. Piatti ottimi e atmosfera delicata e intima. Prezzi ragionevoli. Alla fine della cena se si vuole ci si unisce con una preghiera alla Vergine, per ristorare anche la propria anima....

A different experience as the restaurant is operated and run by missionary nuns with a French based cuisine. Everyone enjoyed their choices which included escargot, beef medallions, creamy French onion soup and veal. The tiramisu was reported as the best one person has had in Italy.

This is a fantastic restaurant with a beautiful mission. 16th Century Palace that houses a Duke & Dutchess. The bottom 2 floors are given to a convent which has a charism for making amazing food providing fine dining experiences. They use the money they bring in to care for orphanages around the world. The prices are incredibly low for Rome. The wine selection is perfect. The food is prepared excellently and the service is wonderful. The sisters rely on thier patrons generosity to help fund their mission caring for poor children. This is a must stop for any catholic visiting Rome or anyone who wishes to support a beautiful mission by having an amazing meal.

Incredible food served by a lovely team of nuns. I ordered fish and my husband ordered duck. Both dishes were exceptional and the nuns were so kind. The food was made from high quality ingredients - I had actually been a bit unwell for a few days and the food at the restaurant made me feel so much better. My husband and I received the Sposi Novelli blessing from Pope Leo and after I told the nun serving us about this she was delighted and they served us a surprise dessert with a song. They promised to pray for us and took down our names. It was a beautiful experience and one of our fondest memories from our honeymoon. Thank you very much for the special lunch!!! ❤️

These sisters know food! Their menu was eclectic to where they all come from and it was excellent. Simple, elevated dishes. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this place for dinner.

My family and I absolutely loved our experience here! The service is amazing and we ordered duck, pork, chicken and fries, and pasta with shrimp. The menu is written in English, Italian and French, so it was easy for our group to order and communicate. We look forward to coming back soon!

Nov 2024. Hidden gem, on Fridays and Saturdays, you eat upstairs with beautifully painted ceilings. So if the dining room seems empty, do enter anyway. Menu is for all tastes, food is great. Unexpected surprise, glad I entered. Recommend this place.

A truly special dining experience. The food is fantastic. I really enjoyed my French onion soup, lamb, and tiramisu. All perfectly made. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable for what you get. While the food is excellent, what makes this place so unique is the people - the sisters who run the restaurant. They are from all over the world but united in purpose. Towards the end of the evening, they sing Ave Maria and all are welcome to join in (and it's fine if you don't, e.g. Protestants like myself!).

One of the most special dining experiences that we had so far. Although it might seem unexpected to go for french food when visiting Rome, we highly recommend this place. The food is good but the Location, the atmosphere, and most of all the lovely ladies who run the restaurant were the true highlight of the evening. Visiting the palazzos at day and dining in similar ambience at night (the ceilings!) was just amazing. The little surprise after dinner made everybody feel like we’re not just tourists but an integral part of a Short-time Community experience :)

I wish more people would come here. I don't understand why it isn't more busy. The sisters that work here are missionaries that serve in the city during the day and this helps keep them going. The food is honestly super delicious. I suggest eating the creme brulee. It is super tasty. The atmosphere is very nice with very interesting paintings. All around great experience.

A seminarian-friend studying in Rome invited me and fellow pilgrims, two friends of mine, to join him for dinner, once we arrived in Rome (2004) in what he described as a you-will-not-believe-how-beautiful-this-restaurant-is unless you see it. He didn't give any other details, but the evening we were scheduled for the dinner, we found ourselves entering a restaurant run by nuns! Surprise! And, the dining room we were seated in had/has the most beautifully painted ceiling! Brother Gregory (now Father Gregory) was in awe of it and was delighted that we finally got to see this artistic treasure! However, with all that beauty above us, what impressed me most was the menu, I had a native Tunisian dish, with an appetizer of escargot and a soup I had never heard of, lettuce soup. It was mighty yummy! My dessert was a sorbet (I might not be able to recall your name, but more often than not, I can recall a magnificent meal!!) And, yet another pleasant surprise occurred. The nuns stopped all activity and then commenced singing, "Salve Regina." That made my evening complete. And, because of my soon-to-be-a-priest friend, I was able to dine there again (2005) with him and a friend of mine with whom I would visit each time I travelled to Rome. An excellent evening in the company of two devout Catholics enjoying truly good food prepared by missionary nuns. For those reading this review, please make a reservation. You will enjoy your meal and the ambience and also lend great support to a very worthy cause!

Locale nel palazzo Lante a poca distanza da Pantheon e senato. Gestito da accoglienti e sorridenti suore missionarie vietnamite. La cucina è un mix di piatti francesi, vietnamiti e italiani curati. Ogni giorno della settimana è presente anche un piatto diverso A fine pasto, volendo, si può cantare l'Ave Maria. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo Un luogo decisamente diverso e piacevole. Bellissima e originale serata! Il ristorante è gestito da suore e tutto ciò che si spende va in beneficienza alle loro missioni, già solo per questo bisognerebbe andarci il più possibile! La cucina - francese - è buonissima e il servizio gentile. Il posto è grande e i tavoli comodi. Inoltre i prezzi sono ottimi considerando la zona. La chicca della serata è sentire le suore cantare alle 21. Danno anche un foglietto col testo per chi vuole cantare insieme a loro!

cucina internazionale di base francese gestito da suore laiche ad un passo da piazza navona. ogni giorno un menu diverso ma tanti piatti da scegliere alla carta. meglio prenotare. durante la cena c'e' sempre un momento di preghiera di ringraziamento quindi si alla meraviglia per chi non lo sa , ma attenti all'ilarità. frequentato da clientela variegata trovete sicuramente tanti religiosi. la cucina e' di un livello molto buono ma non raffinata. buona selezione di vini. servizio a volte lento soprattutto nel momento del pagamento se con carta di credito e se avete bisogno della fattura. prezzi non elevati

In pieno centro a Roma, in un palazzo storico. Le sale al primo piano sono affrescate. L'accoglienza è attenta e silenziosa.... con una piacevole sorpresa a fine cena! Cucina francese, da provare! La zuppa di cipolla è proprio come quella parigina!

Dopo 39 anni torno in questo ristorante in pieno centro di Roma antica, affreschi e aria mistica . Però il menù si è standardizzato ...forse per attrarre turisti stranieri...

Lovely place, run by nuns from a mission. Their service and friendliness is what makes this place so special. Very warm and welcoming. They even sang a prayer at the end of the meal and a lot of the guests joined in. The price/quality ratio for the food is very high. Really a unique place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Rome.

This was the best value for money during our 5 days stay in Rome. The portions very very generous, unlike other restaurants we dined in. The food was excellent and the bottle of Frascati at €20 was cold and wonderful. We were there at 2pm and some quiet religious music was played on a cd. Also, the neighbourhood is certainly worth exploring. Highly recommended

Il ristorante è molto carino! Vale la pena visitarlo una volta per motivi esclusivamente turistici. Poi siamo tornati a casa e la prima cosa a qui abbiamo pensato – preparare un bel piatto di pasta.

Simpatica esperienza culinaria e spirituale nel cuore di Roma. Ristorante gestito da suore laiche che con garbo e gentilezza offrono piatti della tradizione internazionale, in particolare quella francese. Sono andata con la mia famiglia e siamo stati bene.

I was quite disappointed with L’eau vive. Lots of people seem to love it but I’m afraid I don’t. It is an interesting old building which I understand used to be a convent. It is staffed by kindly nuns from Africa I think. Their profits or proceeds go to a good cause. But that’s where the good stuff ends and it is after all a restaurant and must be judged as such. Firstly the decor is non existent. The old building remains charming with a fantastic ceiling, but the furniture is spartan and basic. It feels like a school canteen, or to borrow another reviewer’s phrase, a care home. The service was slow and no English spoken. The food was very basic, I had the set dinner menu at a very reasonable 16€ and as you can see the chicken was indeed a nice leg of chicken and a couple of boiled potatoes. But that’s it. Soup was, you’ve guessed it, a plain bowl of veg soup. It wasn’t bad, perfectly edible, but not in any sense like being in a restaurant. The slice of cake for pudding was quite nice. Unfortunately I didn’t benefit from the nuns singing as I left before 9pm. A party of about 30 school kids arriving was my cue to call it a night. In summary id say if you want a slightly unusual take on getting a cheap, basic dinner then it’s worth a try. For me, despite the kindly nuns, I won’t be making a habit of it.

I know that this is a restaurant we are almost obliged to give a good review. But wow. How can you make duck taste that bland? Or make an olive based appetizer I could not eat? The nuns did sing and they were very - very pious. We all sang “Ave Maria” at the end of a trying evening - praying they will hire a new chef.
