This Dickeys provided our whole Thanksgiving meal! Cajun turkey, Mac, baked potato casserole, green beans, dressing and rolls! The food was amazing! Such an easy, organized process. It all came with heating instructions also. Thank you so much! My whole family was full and happy and we did not have to cook!!

Ordered Jalapeno sausage, brisket, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese. Most of the food was satisfactory - however the brisket was tough and did not taste like it was barbecued. Chewing it was an arduous task

I've lived in Rowlett for 6 years and come here many times but I won't be back. The food quality has steadily declined. The meat is dry. The sides are subpar. The okra is burned half the time. The manager uses the front booth as his office and it looks like a homeless person is camping out there. My last to-go order was almost inedible. And unlike other Dickies locations, this one doesn't let you get your own sauce or pickles. They packaged up 4 pickle slices and a tablespoon of sauce. When I asked for more, they wanted something like $1 more for barely any sauce. And as fry as that meat was, it needed sauce just to reconstitute it. The Rockwall location is way better. I won't be ordering from Rowlett Dickies ever again.

should’ve made sure we left with a receipt because this time the food was not good. this was the first time i had to take my bbq home and season it on my own. the brisket was tough and not at its best. worst of all, my beans had a medium - long light brown/ blonde hair in it. i am a black woman with curly hair. this strand does not belong to anyone in my family and i could not enjoy my meal… i wish i could’ve taken it back.

The food has been on a steady decline since I moved to Rowlett a few years ago. I was used to going to a location im Dallas that was great but no such luck with this location .this doesn't taste like real BBQ. My brisket was mushy and the ribs were ok but you can tell its not cooked like real BBQ. Zero flavor and they give you a tiny cup of BBQ sauce on a two meat plate. I really hate i wasted 18 dollars. The mac is ok but I never really expect much out of restaurant mac and the fried okra was the best thing that I ordered.

This Dickey's has really fallen off. The brisket was dryer than most. The tortilla on the brisket taco was hard and burnt. The brisket was dry and I bought a pound of brisket and it was dry. They had equipment pilled up around the door and the staff was Luke warm. I won't be going back!

They were adamant that they gave us two already and we couldn’t have any more. It was almost like a Seinfeld bit. We were the only people in there at lunch time besides an older couple sitting down!! We buy $50 worth of food but you guys are stingy about sauce ??? Smh sign of the times

I usually LOVE going to Dickey's but this location messed up twice. After the 1st time I dismissed the experience as maybe just them having a bad day. After giving them a second chance and receiving my food last night, I made the decision to never return. The sliced brisket was a very light brown color, bland and chewy. I have NEVER seen a Dickey's restaurant's brisket look that way! The creamed spinach also seemed old or overcooked. I ordered a medium size and ended up throwing it away. I thought perhaps my food was subpar because I ordered so late on a Saturday night, but even that is not an excuse for serving a customer inedible food. I hope this restaurant is able to improve their food quality soon.

GROSS!!!!!! The food, the location. I ordered a turkey plate and 2 sides. What they gave me was some spongey something that was not turkey. The sides were to say the least, "Yuck!" I was the only customer in the place it was filthy and there were 2 employees who were doing absolutely nothing to make the place look or smell better. I will never go to this Dickey's again. I understand why everyone was going to the restaurant next door.

I really dislike giving negative reviews, but I hope this can help them improve. The meat was so dry! And I am sure they noticed this and still served. I asked my son how was your food, he is 16, he said dry, I said mine as well. The meat was not good and 36.00 for 2 people to not enjoy is not ok. I would pay 60 to 80 for 2 if it was right! I work In Rhome TX, and we catered in Dickeys, and it was amazing. But I guess it depends on location. Because I will not be back here. I really hope they improve and take my review into consideration

Smell disgusting 🤢 a very strong odor. The food wasn’t fresh. The bread like a rock, no customers and 3 employees. Spider webs everywhere, floor dirty. At least the customer service was ok. But I will never return to this place. A mess everywhere.

Shocked and grossed out. I will never return to this location. It looks like someone is living there. There were Pringles, crackers and stuff in the hallway. The staff made themselves too comfortable as well. Our food was cold! The meat tasted boiled not smoked and they were out of peach cobbler and apple cobbler! No sweet tea. Just really surprised at this location. Our food was cold because they prepared our plate and then had issues with another order, bagged and to go order and when it was our turn the meat had gone cold. Staff looked like teens that just lived there and did not know what they were doing. Beware!

Ate here for lunch and ordered the family picnic off the menu. It came with 3 small ribs and a hand full sausage. Supposed to be able to feed 4 people for 32.00 dollars, but just enough food for a two meat plate. The ribs and the sausage was not fresh taste like they were warm up in the microwave. Been eating here for years but want be coming back. The most disappointing experience is the owner/Manager was serving the food.

I ordered Holiday Turkey that was supposed to be cajun seasoned. It was my fault for honestly not reading fine print as I thought I was ordering a cajun fried Turkey. It was neither, once I read the receipt it showed cajun seasoned. It had absolutely no seasoning. I could have bought at least 3 Turkeys for the price I paid for that one. The bare minimum they could have done was at minimum season it. Nope! I will take my business elsewhere.

When I entered right away I felt a very quite, cold and unwelcoming feeling. It’s hard to leave this review but I was just disappointed in the overall experience. I ordered the loaded potato. I got home and called to ask where the butter and sour cream were I was told it was buried under the cheese if there was any it was not much it had very little meat very small amount of ingredients. Asked for pickles was given 5 not in a container like normal and acted like it was inconvenient. I had been to this location before the night staff always were up beat and that’s what makes you feel welcomed. Unfortunately the afternoon I went it felt like they just were not happy to help me. Didn’t speak a word or smile. I even ask why they were so quite trying to make conversation but still no smile or attempt to create a good environment. First time I have felt so unwelcome anywhere. I really always give every one a chance. I left very sad that this visit will cause me to not return.

Had the 2 meat plate and the chicken and brisket was VERY dry!! The rolls were hard I couldn’t even chew it and for the price it was a HUGE disappointment… this is the WORST Dickey’s I’ve ever been to!! Please don’t waste your money for dry nasty food!! Even the tea was sour

We ordered the two meat meals and had it delivered. One of our meals was missing the sides and we didn't get the meats we ordered. When I called the store the person who answered said he was the manager. When I explained what happened he said " I'm not dealing with this 7 minutes before we close and hanging up on me. I will be calling the corporate office in the morning.

Ordered picnic platter for 3 people and it came in a single serve plate with small amount of meat. Not even enough to feed one person let alone 3. I called the store to complain and was told there was nothing that they could do. I spent 72 dollars for this ??? Never again. The food was great it was the portion size that was very dissapointing.

Me and my boyfriend went to this location cause I was craving dickeys sausage yesterday. Mind you I’m 6 months pregnant. We received our food no complaint there staff was friendly. I start eating my food and notice a hair in my sausage a black straight short hair. I have blonde hair and my boyfriend has curly black hair so no way it was ours. If that wasn’t enough we ended up getting food poisoning, which can be harmful to my child inside me. In all the times we have gone to different dickeys locations we have never gotten sick from their food. The pain I felt from the food poisoning was so agonizing that I still felt it when I woke up the next day.(today)

This Dickey's location is proof positive that they are not all created equal. Very old, rundown, dirty place. Like stepping back in time to the 1970's. It even has a wagon wheel chandelier. Lots of unused equipment stacked around the restaurant & all of it in need of cleaning. The food is NOT on display as it always is in other Dickey's locations. Only things visible to customers are some of the different meats in & around the ovens. Placed an order for my grandson after waiting 10 minutes for the customer in front of me to be served by the head guy (dark hair & mustache) while two other workers were each seated in booths watching TV. When I started to place my own order, the mustache man turned from me as I was midsentence in my order and asked my husband to take his order. Wow! I wasn't allowed to even place mine! When another, younger worker finally strolled behind the register counter to ring me up, I had to explain 3 times to him that my grandson's meal & my husband's meal were on the same ticket. I commented that I would have liked to have been allowed to place an order as well but mustache man blew me off. The younger man offered to add my food choice to the order, but by then I was fed up & not interested in giving them more money. The turkey was dry, my husband ordered "lean beef" brisket & got fatty chopped brisket. Thank goodness we live across town where the local Dickey's is super clean and the food is fresh & good. Amazingly they had lots of customers which tells me Rowlett and Rockwall folks do not know what truly good barbecue is. Skip this place...you'll be glad you did!

Take your money else where. Idk if they're under new management or what but the service and quality of food here blows now. It wasn't always this way. Looking at other negative reviews and the manager's response to grievances speaks for itself. I'm all for defending your employees because I've worked the service industry plenty and customer's can be entitled pieces of fecal matter but this dude lacks any sort of decorim or accountability. I don't typically write reviews but my beans literally smelled like a used maxi pad sitting in the hot sun. I've never smelled a maxi pad in the hot sun before but I'd imagine the beans were comparable. It turned me off so much I didn't want the rest of the food. Ironically, after the maxi pad beans I saw a post about this location. Apparently he doesn't pay his employees? Their was a name error preventing one of his teenaged employees from cashing their 1st check. He flat out ignored the girl and her parents reaching out to him and she was never paid. I can't vouch for that incident but management doesn't seem very pleasant so I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. For what it's worth, I'll try my luck at Cooley's BBQ in South Dallas. I might have to dodge a few bullets on the way in but at least the customer service at Cooleys is amazing and the food is worth the price. Plus no maxi pad beans there lol. Those beans befuddled me. Never smelled anything like it. I'm traumatized. If I could sue for emotional distress, I would.

I got ribs from the Rowlett location. They were extremely disappointing. No smoke flavor, no seasoning. Tasted like boiled meat. It was so disappointing that I needed to share. The sausage was ok. Will not return. The employees were nice.

Just wow, my husband and I usually go into this location but we’ve been eating from home lately. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt because usually they forget my husbands onions and pickles for his sandwich when we order delivery, big whoop. The last time before this I ordered a 2 meat plate and only got enough meat that could’ve been for a 1 meat plate. This time was the final straw, the core zero was flat and the brisket was nearly all burnt and dry. Half of the meat was so hard and tough that it was inedible. Not only that, but my husbands brisket sandwich was the same way and he had little pieces of foil in it. Disgusting! Y’all save your money and go elsewhere spending $40 on this meal was a JOKE!

They seem to have gotten rid of their large size sides containers and user their medium as large. Additionally they are not selling much. They beans tasted as of yet were cooking all day, not burned just over cooked. Green beans had a similar taste. Potatoe salad was ok.

$32.00 for three chopped beef sandwiches. I get inflation but this is highway robbery. They charged me $1.00 a sandwich to chop the beef. Give me a freakin break On top of that the sandwich tucked. From now on it's Soulmans!!

Terrible service!! I walked in and was never greeted. The older Caucasian man behind the counter just continued to wrap meat as if I was NOT standing there waiting to order. If I could give zero stars I would…. At least let a person know YOU SEE THEM!

I got the XL family pack for $100 and literally tossed half of it after my family forced ourselves to eat some of it. The only thing halfway normal was the potato salad, and the Mac n cheese. The green beans were gross and the okra was just ok. The turkey was decent the sausage wasn’t right, the brisket was obviously a day old and had been in a warmer all day it was tough and extremely dry and absolutely no flavor. They did served it quick as it was a to go order but the place was empty and run down. I won’t be back and would advise others to save your money and go elsewhere. I hate writing bad reviews and normally won’t, but come on guys this is a chain with a detailed business plan to follow and obviously this location is not on the plan.
