Best selection of Indian food in Salinas! There’s a bit of a language barrier but the services is welcoming. The curry dishes I got were savory and delicious. The restaurant style is very casual. Lots of mobile orders being processed while we were there. Very authentic food. Modest wine and beer selection. Family style food. Vegetarian selections. Coming back soon to try other selections.

We arrived right when it opened and dinned in for lunch. They do not have a buffet. I ordered the Tandoori mixed grill that had an assortment of chicken, sausage and spicy fish. It took about 20 minutes to get our food, but when we got it, it was hot and tasty, the Naan bread was fresh also. The server was an older guy who was very pleasant, we will Be back soon, I do Not see much authentic Indian restaurants or food in Salinas, ca.

This older guy who took our order was the highlight of our visit. He was so kinda and funny. Super nice gave us a free mango drink which I recommend!! Not only that but the food was amazing. It’s was a cozy spot to go with a friend, a partner, or alone. I would definitely come back here.

First time trying Indian food. 101/10 recommend. The mango lassi was so good. The chana masala was the star of the show would recommend you try along with the butter chicken. I will be returning.

I am so grateful it is salted right. It is worth the 50 mile drive. The Nan bread was so delicious. We got the family pack. This way it reminds us of the Indian buffets we used to go to. what is different about Avatar is there samosas. I have tried East African samosas and Indian samosas at many places. They put a special touch on theirs and the presentation is really good that I prefer Avatar Style samosas their chicken. The cooking a wait staff are very busy. It seems like they make their food fresh. That's a blessing. How the food is presented and how it taste, it seems that the staff really knows what they're doing and care about serving quality food. I've been here more than a couple of times and I have been satisfied. This is my favorite restaurant and Central Coast. It wasn't hard for them to become my favorite because other restaurants and Salinas is you know like Salinas.

I tried Indian food but did not like much at other places, but here its very good food and the best thing is you can add spices as per your choice. Butter Chicken I really loved it. Recommended for Indian food choice. Services are good. Only thing is they close at 9pm so if you want to eat then best time to go here is 6 - 8:30pm. Quantity and quality both are good. Butter Chicken cost around $ 13. Biryani is also good. Sometimes during the weekend, they serve butter chicken with plain rice as a complimentary. I enjoyed eating here. Friendly staff and understand your taste.

Amazing food, amazing service, lovely owner and staff. Quick service as well. I ordered the butter chicken, chicken tiki masala, and basmati rice, and naan. Everything was delicious and warm. I would definitely recommend going here for dinner. I would come here again! 10/10!!! I loved the food.

The food is tasty. I loved my veggie dish. They even made me a special naan since I am lactose intolerant. Ambience is nice. Server was great. The price seem reasonable and similar to other like restaurants I have been to. I will definitely come here again.

The restaurant might not look as good from outside, but it is a gem. It’s a must try. I ordered yellow dal, malai kofta and vegetable coconut mix. All three were great. The stuffing for aloo paratha was amazing. It was better than any Bay Area Nepalese and Indian food place.

I eat alot of Punjabi Dhaba( Indian Food), all over the USA, because I drive trucks. I had the sweet and sour cauliflower appetizer, the palak saag and the roti. The food taste amazingly homemade!! It was seasoned to perfection 👌 and prepared like someone's grandmother was in the kitchen cooking!!! I recommend this place hands down!!!

Horrible Food, 3 different dishes came with same gravies (with ketchup mixed), Horrible samosa please never ever order here. I gave 1 rating because there is no option to give 0 rating.

The food here is fairly average — it’s the kind of place where it feels like something is better than nothing. What made the experience less enjoyable was a senior staff member who seemed more focused on airing personal political opinions, rather than attending to customers. Conversations like these can be off-putting, especially when they overshadow the service. It would be great to see more attentive and professional staffing in the future; otherwise, the customer experience may continue to suffer.
