Very impressed with Qudos. The room, staff, location and breakfast were all first rate. Decent value too. I would definitely recommend.
Have been twice for breakfast. Good English breakfast. Staff are lovely and polite.
An excellent place to stay! The music choice was excellent, drinks and food fantastic. They also recommended us towards some local restaurants as well which were all stellar!
Great hotel/pub. The hotel parking is a bit of a faff with it being over the road and down an ally way, but for £7 a day, cant really fault it. Room was clean and tidy. The shower was really good. Prices are typical for being down south. Service was really good at the bar as well.
Cannot comment on the rooms as we only came in for dinner. The meals were very nice, good sized portions, service was great, and the live band on Saturday night got the whole place dancing! Loved it
Can't comment on rooms as went for a Sunday roast. The best roast I've had eating out. Save yourself the washing up and treat yourself.
Have been travelling around England staying in many Inn’s about the price point of Qudos. Qudos is head and shoulders the best, tastefully renovated to a high standard, I am very impressed. Even had dinner in the restaurant and it was really good. Would totally recommend.
Wow, what a place to stay, very very clean rooms, spacey and ultra comfortable. Would certainly recommend and will be back. Nice friendly staff too.
Great bar, really nice for a drink in the week and at weekends the live bands are great and draw in crowds. Food is great, particularly recommend the Sunday carvery which is easily the best in Salisbury. The staff are all lovely and really work hard, a great team for sure. Also a great venue for a party - with a fab barn out the back available for hire. Definitely worth a visit - and to go back over and over again.
I happened to stop by on a passing trip and had some Fish & Chips. It was the best fish and chips I've ever had in England. The staff were friendly and hard-working. I've only recently discovered the British tipping culture. The woman who served us deserved a generous tip, but I regret not doing so. I don't know much about the room or hotel conditions because I didn't stay there.
Qudos never fails to impress with its carvery, perfectly seasoned and cooked and always a delicious vegetarian option, best carvery in the Salisbury and surrounding villages by far!
Delicious food, huge selection of drinks, lovely rooms, great breakfast and excellent service
Did not stay there. Just eat dinner. The food was great and decently priced. All good & thumbs up!
Only had one night but a lovely room and gorgeous breakfast. Staff very friendly.
Had a fab stay on Saturday night - arrived early afternoon, easy check in, paid extra £7.50 for hotel parking close by. Room 24 on top floor in bay - stylish urban, recently decorated with a lovely shower room and BEST shower ever! Came back after evening in Salisbury to place buzzing with band - great Proper Job beer too. Band finished dead on 11pm Morning traffic a bit noisy but to be expected on main road in town Breakfast was fabulous - great cooked options - loved my avo, poached eggs on sourdough with vine tomatoes and extra bacon. Cooked to perfection. Good cold breakfast selection too and great coffee from machine. What wasn't there to live!!
Lovely little Hotel in Salisbury centre, Very close to station and large car park. Super comfy beds. Top floor room & noise wasn't an issue. Food was excellent and priced about right. Staff were mostly student age & all wonderful. Only downer was the band cancelled so no live music but can't blame the Hotel for that. Would definitely use again.
we just checked out the public house & hotel today. It is a lovely boutique hotel rooms, that is in the centre of salisbury - as the city squares are 10mins away. it does have quirky layout, and furnishings. the owners / staff are professional, polite and helpful. House keeping undertaken on a daily basis. location it details 0.6miles from train station, but it only takes 15min walk.
Stayed for one night. Room was a great size, lots of storage and so many electrical points which makes a nice change. Mini fridge had bottled water; tea/coffee, hairdryer, iron. Shower was amazing. Room very clean. I gave it 4* due to uncomfortable pillows and noise from traffic. Great position between train station and town centre. Breakfast was delicious, lots to choose from and great value. Last but not least, every member of staff was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again when visiting next time.
Went to see band hotrocks great night out good venue and friendly staff and good atmosphere will be back for more events there.
Great place to relax after work and catch up with friends. Friendly service from Christian who made an excellent Old Fashioned. Had a few of the small plates and the cajun & garlic mushrooms on sourdough was delicious.
I had a wonderful time here. The room was fantastic and loved the shower. Maybe the best part was being able to have a pint or two before walking up to bed but the staff were great as well. I would rate this place a strong home away from home.
Staying here for 2 nights the staff are friendly and helpful. The room is large with high ceilings and immaculately clean. The food in the restaurant is good quality and was delicious. We will come back here again. I would highly recommend a visit.
An absolute amazing experience altogether. Room was clean and cosy. Food was 5* quality and delivery the same. I was surprised to find out they only have 4*. We stayed in 5* properties that never came close to this.Staff was friendly and attentive making the whole thing even better. The whole experience was unbelievable. Only regret we have is that we couldn't stay longer.
This is a great pub and hotel to visit! It's a short walk from bus stops and about 15 minutes walk from train station! We stayed here as well, the room was lovely and had everything we needed in it! It was quiet too! The food is lovely, we had a meal and the breakfast which is all freshly cooked!! We have also booked again!!
Yummy brekky, nice atmosphere, unlimited hot drinks and toast. I'm full. 😁
On day visit to Salisbury and had a carvery today. Excellent quality, great selection of beautifully cooked vegetables, meat so tender hence always eating at Qudos when ever visiting Salisbury. Outstanding service from Dan, nothing too much trouble. Dan kept refilling water jug, including ice, without being asked. Service is always good, hence keep returning.
We had a lovely night at this establishment where the staff were super friendly and although we didn’t have any food you could smell how delicious it was! We bumped in with a couple of gin and tonics expertly made by Jeff and the team, we enjoyed a Lovely evening in a close by Sicilian restaurant and then we came back to relax in this extremely well located venue. Everything was easy-ish in terms of checking in and parking and all in all it was a good time.
Me and my girlfriend came for our anniversary dinner, the food was amazing and the staff were all so lovely. ☺️
Seldom do i come across a hotel anywhere in the UK that surpasses my expectations. Qudos is the very rare one. Highly recommend it. Sad that we are only staying one night
It’s not very often that I come across somewhere as good as this, on a work business trip for 2 nights and when one of your own jobs is to look after cleaning contracts you tend to notice things ? Well I really did notice one thing in particular, this place is clean, clean, clean, its absolutely immaculate in all areas, public and bedrooms, someone has obviously put together an incredible regime for this and well done. The room itself, bright, airy, stylish and subtle accent wallpaper, bed was incredibly comfortable with crisp clean white linens, bathroom with complimentary toiletries was again just immaculately clean, really it has everything a weary traveller needs. We had dinner one night and 2 breakfasts and my only concern was would I have room for everything, the side salad with the BBQ chicken was absolutely delicious and the breakfast offerings from the very fresh continental to the impressive hot breakfast range was second to none and way way better than most places. It was also incredibly heartwarming to find out this is an independent, in these days of the big boys running every city centre this fantastic model I hope gives them a run for their money. I would recommend and really encourage anyone to support this wonderful local establishment as not only does it deserve it but it is also astonishingly well priced for what you are getting, just a shame I can only give 5 stars, it deserves more, thank you so much for obviously caring about what you do, it shows 👍
I give the Qudos Hotel a lot of kudos! The experience could not have been better. The rooms were clean and updated, featuring a very nice modern bathroom. The beds were quite comfortable and while you could hear traffic outside, the town quieted down at night so there was no issues with noise. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming, felt at home. Even accommodated receiving our luggage which was lost on our flight. The service is unbeatable. Breakfast is also very tasty, definitely sets you up well for a great day. The location was close to downtown Salisbury and easily walkable to Salisbury, the Cathedral and the scenic river paths, however it is just outside of downtown so that it is nice and quiet at night.
Met friends for a reunion over 2 nights, staff very friendly chatty and helpful, xmas dinner evening meal was absolutely lovely,as is the breakfast at a good value, very good products, and plenty of choice. Location spot on. Definitely worth booking, we won't be looking anywhere else now we stayed here.
Great hotel, with first class service from every single person I spoke to. Last minute booking for a Sunday night, but they promptly messaged to warn me about last check-in time so I was able to alter my plans to avert problems. Happily accommodated me showing up on a bike and found me somewhere reassuringly secure to leave it overnight. My room was a touch small, but the price reflected that, so no issue. Well appointed with many USB sockets (not enough hotels have this in 2023, so much appreciated!). Breakfast was good and plentiful. Would happily stay again.
Lovely rooms very chic and clean. Housekeeping was very good with plenty of the essentials. Food was excellent with a refreshingly different menu at reasonable prices. Great location with an easy walk to the city centre and attractions. Book a parking space great value and only a short walk.
Great place to stay really close to the centre. Would stay again
New years eve party, fantastic atmosphere, great staff. Group was very good. Brilliant night with friends, highly recomend both the night life and the hotel stay.
My husband and I visited Salisbury for a weekend and we decided to stay in Qudos for a night. We chose Qudos because from the website looks very clean and it was. Our room was perfect, clean, modern with all the comforts.Very quite area. We can't say nothing negative but we would like to suggest to switch on the heating in the room before guests arrive, and to be more hospitality. We can understand your busy moment for your pub, but we are guest too and we payed you like everyone.it wasn't nice our first impression when two members of the staff ignore us for a bit
Excellent location and nice rooms. Paid parking is offsite around 100m away.
The rooms were clean and tidy, well equipped. The bed was a little uncomfortable as one side had a dip in the mattress, otherwise all ok!
We stayed a Qudos for a weekend recently. The reception was exceptional and Dan couldn't help us enough. The parking was a bit haphazard (mainly due to major roadworks in the area) and the spaces were overhung by trees which were shedding berries and sap. It made a terrible mess of the car paintwork, but that's nature I suppose. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spotless with a great shower. Overall a really nice place, the beer also being decent at the bar. If there is a negative, the lack of a lock on the door leading to the accommodation. The other trivial negative was the nespresso machine having no instructions.... a masters in nuclear physics couldn't work out how to use it. The location is excellent for the centre and many bars and restaurants.... would stay again for definite.
Location is near attractions and nicely near a Tesco express. It is a ways from the train station. We walked it with luggage, but you may want taxi. No lift to get to the rooms. Rooms were a good size and came with table fans to help stay cool. Light switch in the bathroom was an odd hanging pull I more associate with an emergency pull for falling in a hospital bathroom than with a light. Shower was also a little awkward, but had good pressure. Street side had a nice breeze, but was loud on the first floor.
It's a little bit too cool for school, touches of the old Yates bars, and it's quite dark, subdued inside, but it's comfortable, you can sit with up or down ...but the food is great and the staff are great, the comedy club is brilliant, very cosy with super acts. Very much recommended. Sports screen
Excellent Sunday lunch. Buffet three meats.
We had our works Christmas do here. I can't complain about the atmosphere, the staff or the food. Everything was lovely, but unfortunately, it was just not worth the money, especially compared to what was on offer at other local venues for the festive dos!
I have eaten and slept here. Food is good at lunchtime and breakfast is worthwhile. Great location if staying. The room I had was decent and well appointed, good sized bathroom, but it was dusty in places, the fan in the bathroom, perhaps being out of easy reach, was covered. Just pockets of heavy dust in the harder to reach areas. Nice idea with the exposed brickwork, but wasn't sure if there were some small patches of mold. The room is reasonably quiet given its proximity to the road, thankfully no kitchen or extractor fan noise. Qudos bar is good for lunchtime bites and has some decent ales on tap. Sometimes the sports are on. Generally a quieter place during the day, again exposed brick work with a modern looking bar with a mixture of higher tables and stalls with tables and chairs.
This review is based purely on the roast dinner, i've tried to book on several other occasions but it's been full so haven't managed the roast until last Sunday...I was joined by my aunt, sister, 2 cousins and my cousins husband. I'd heard fantastic reviews so was looking forward to pigging out as it were. + Piping hot veg with a great selection + Turkey was moist, succulent and very tasty + Cauliflower cheese was delicious and cheesy. + Staff were attentive yet non obtrusive - Beef was overcooked and a little tough, i prefer thinly sliced pink beef but this was much thicker with no pink whatsoever, i understand that everyones tastes differ but this beef was too well cooked
Room was very nice. Has been modernized so looks quite trendy. Room has plenty of space, with closet, mini fridge, and desk. Has a nice bathroom with large bathtub, heated towel racks and floor. Excellent location - close to buses and not a bad walk from train station. There is a restaurant on ground floor that seemed to serve a nice dinner, though we never ate there. Bad bits....wifi is SLOW!!!! Our ceiling was leaking....told assistant manager but she wasn't overly worried about it. There's no front desk....everything pertaining to rooms goes through person at bar...weird. There's no outlets in bathroom....and the only shelf is above toilet....guess what happens with that. Would still recommend hotel though.
How was it? It depends... Saturday night and we just got to our room on the the top floor at 9pm. Room really nice. Then the band started ., v loud but v good. Like the pub vibe then a different feel to boutique style rooms. Summary: if there is a band on AND you like to go to sleep before 22:30 then think hard, but the rest of the time it's a great pub/hotel in a great location.
Pros: room is very big, and has everything you'd need. My room also had a separate sitting area. Close to the centre of Salisbury and 10 mins walk to the cathedral. Cons: I could hear all the noises coming from the neighbouring rooms, and the traffic from the street. If you are a light sleeper, be aware of this. It was virtually impossible to sleep, and I was only able to fall asleep with noise cancelling headphones which I had to keep in my ears all night, as there were some cars at night too. Parking was not straightforward, but mainly because they insisted that you had to come to the hotel and park somewhere outside first before they told you where their parking was. Frankly, I'm not exactly sure why they couldn't just draw the map with instructions and send it to customers beforehand. It would have saved me from unnecessarily having to find street parking next to the hotel. When I pointed this out, the gentleman who checked me in said they tried it and people couldn't figure out. Fair enough. But I suppose the logical thing would be to keep doing it and let those who cannot figure out a map come to the hotel, rather than have everyone go to the hotel first. To be honest, it wasn't that complicated. Everyone who worked at the hotel was pleasant, but I hope my review will help others, as I wish I was aware of the noise. Again, if you are not a light sleeper, you may be perfectly fine!
No air-conditioning and the windows are small and mostly painted shut. Also no lift, even for luggage. Finally, the pub staff has to pull double -duty helping guests while tending the bar and tables, so there isn't much help available. The room decorations and quality is very good otherwise - spacious, modern, and clean.
I have always enjoyed dining at qudos, however yesterday the service was inadequate and because our party included a vegetarian, we were rudely blamed for not informing them. We had a waiter take our drinks order when we arrived and then nothing more. We went to get our carvery and were told we had to wait. I barely got back to my seat and they said we could go up! A delightful dinner but spoiled by a lack of decent service. Will choose somewhere different in the future.
