Recensioni di Al Molo Salò
A place with an enviable lakeside location, offering carefully prepared and flavorful dishes of both fish and meat. Enjoy the exquisite lamb chops and a carefully prepared marinated trout appetizer with bold flavors. It would also be a romantic spot, but they need a stylish renovation. I will definitely be back.
Very good, this place deserves a much better average score than it currently has. We visited for lunch, and ordered pasta, pizza and clams. Everyone was very happy with their food. The staff were professional and attentive.
Passed this place during the day, came back in the evening and were not disappointed! Waiter was VERY attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Despite us only being English speaking he managed to help navigate the menu and dealt with our off the menu request/ too. Great place for fish recipes and non-pasta and pizza mains. Would HIGHLY recommend!
I don't understand the bad reviews. Decent food and prices, friendly service, perfect view.
Honest, true
Taste is very very good and service is mindblowing
nice place ! great view and food . fast and good seevice
Yes, despite all the naysayers, there is still something like that on Lake Garda! A pizzeria right on the lakeshore, where the pizzas, ranging from €7 to €16, are not only comparatively affordable but also taste very good. We had Spritz, Fanta, and mineral water with them. The service was very friendly, and we sat right by the window with a view of the pier and the boats. A dream!
I would have given this place a much better score, had I not had dessert that evening! We went for pizzas, which were very decent. Freshly made, we were quite pleased. But then I ordered a tiramisú. Standard Italian dessert, what could go wrong, right? Well, mine was still frozen inside. No mention that it was defrosted on the menu (which I think is now a legal requirement in Italy?). The tiramisú was also clearly industrially made, I'd tasted better ones from a supermarket. Major disappointment.
We decided to eat here by chance. As soon as we arrived, we asked for a table for two and the waiter told us we could sit wherever we wanted. We sat down at a small table and were brought menus. We wanted a mixed fried fish and a marinated sea bream, but when the waiter came to take our order, he told us the sea bream was in oil and was an appetizer, not a main course. So, in addition to the mixed fried fish, we ordered the grilled sea bream. While we waited (which lasted half an hour), we noticed that the tablecloth was dirty (and as we were leaving, the waiter wiped it down with one of the napkins they gave us) and that there were ashtrays on each table, which I don't think is right if you use glasses for water. The fried fish seemed raw, the sea bream was cold, and the sea bream seemed only cooked on one side. In total, we paid €41.50. The grilled sea bream, from the menu, cost €16 and the fried fish €18; excessive prices for sub-par food.
Unfortunately, I stumbled upon this place thinking it would be at least decent, but I was very wrong. For starters: 1) Poor waiter service; one of the two waiters never looked at us or said a word; we had to use signs to get our dishes. 2) The prices displayed outside didn't match those on the menu inside. 3) We tried pasta with garlic, oil, and chili pepper and a tagliata, which was absolutely terrible... the pasta was as chewy as bubblegum, but at least the flavor of the sauce saved it. The tagliata wasn't a tagliata; it was four slices of steak, also chewy and tasteless, thrown on the plate with plenty of shredded cheese and arugula. DO NOT COME IN!!!
We ordered two "Whitefish with polenta." Two "Trout with polenta" arrived without mentioning the change...maybe they thought we wouldn't notice? ...And I can't believe the owner said the price was the same! We're both fishermen.
Don't set foot in this place; don't be fooled by the location. It's a tourist trap, beautiful location, but everything else is shoddy. Terrible food: rubbery pasta and overcooked, inedible meat (or rather, slices of meat). Terrible service and dirty place. Furthermore, the prices displayed on the menu outside don't match the prices on the menu once you enter and sit at your table.
Tourist trap
The location is nice of the restaurant with the view of the lake from the terrace. Sadly this is only one of the positives. The food was fine but definitely not worth the price since it's not cheap. The food was clearly not fresh and I doubt it was self made. The service was not nice, very forgetful, don't offer bread and don't bring plates for the first course. They aren't polite which makes you feel a bit out of place. We sat at the restaurant cause there wasn't a place any where else. Do not recommend and it seemed we were not the only ones.
The location itself has enormous potential, being at the beginning of the promenade leading into town, but it's poorly managed and embarrassing. We stumbled upon it somewhat by accident because it wasn't crowded, but once inside we understood why. And we'll never return! The interior is simply to be avoided: dirty, messy, and full of the staff's personal items, even clothes. The food wasn't bad, but I've certainly had better: two whitefish with grilled polenta and a beef carpaccio with arugula and parmesan. Everything was pre-cooked, and the meat was definitely from a supermarket tray. And the prices, despite this, are practically the same as other restaurants and hotels in town, so by no means cheap. The service is the only thing that stands out, because, all in all, the people who served us were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately i cannot put minus 1 star. The worst place to eat on a Garda lake. And north of Italy. This is not a restaurant. This is an experiment. Of the worst food in Italy. How did they found the meat and pasta? In the garbage? Enough to buy from the closest supermarket to buy good food. This was really bad one.
