Amazing job! We had Madras cafe cater my dad’s 80th birthday and everyone was impressed with the food and the service. Prakash did an amazing job! Definitely will have them cater our next event.

Good was super delicious. Authentic as it gets. Spices were the right level making my taste buds pop but not over powering. Manjot and Sabarish’s service was above and beyond to make our experience a one to remember. They didn’t rush us our give us any attitude as we did come into dine less than an hour before closing. They were polite and hospitable even after the closing time. We highly recommend this place. A must try.

I love coming here to get their Dosa. Such a lovely comfort food. I love the vegetarian options here! Staff is always very polite and I love that they don’t constantly come up and interrupt your meal like some other places do. Service is fast and food is always fresh. I love coming here for a peaceful lunch by myself or with a friend. I have been coming here for a while and it’s safe to say everything on the menu is delicious, from the Idli Vada combo appetizer to their variety of desserts. If you haven’t tried South Indian Cuisine I highly recommend Madras Cafe.

The best south Indian food I tasted in San Diego. Tried idli sambar, Idli was really fluffy and soft. Madras pakora was crispy and yummy..Sambar was amazing. Nice ambiance and friendly staff.. Weekend special was one to not miss!! Will come back soon!!

I really wanted to try the thali but it wasn’t available on Saturday. So we decided to try the lamb rogan josh and that was perfect. The curry was slightly sweet, rich and aromatic. We also tried the biryani and we were not disappointed, flavors were all there but we wish they gave us a little bit more chicken. The samosas, the filter coffee, and the mango lassi hit the spot as well. Can’t compliment this place enough, we will be back again!

I love the dosa here. The dosa filling, red chutney and sambar are especially flavorful — my favorite in all of San Diego. The coconut chutney is good but sometimes watery. Portion size is good for the price but sometimes variable. I’ve had a bucket of sambar delivered with the monster dosa once but other times it’s smaller portions. Overall, I highly recommend.

A great place for South Indian breakfast options. Quick service and tasty. Ghee podi masala dosa is my fav. We have also tried idli, vada and other varieties of dosa. They do have chocolate dosa for kids.

I went here for lunch during a week day . Ordered the customary Idli and a Dosa . The idli was hard and cold . The chutneys were not upto the mark . Sam had was decent but easily forgettable . Dosa was cold as well and dry too coz it was over done May be . There are lot of South Indian food options and in general Indian food options in the area . Wouldn’t recommend the Tiffin items at this restaurant . They have thali as well which is not a part of this review . The restaurant was clean and the service was good too though .

We wanted to try some Indian food in San Diego so we came to this madras cafe which was very near to our stay for breakfast. We ordered two items, one is Channa batura and medu vada. Channa batura was good and taste was also good. But the medu vada was soo bad. May be the vada was made fresh but the batter seems old as it was bitter and the sambar served with this was completely spoiled (had a bad contaminated smell and also bitter taste) when informed they just said sorry and asked any other dish you want instead. I never recommend this place !!

- first day Food was good - Average ambiance. - on site parking available - staffs are not professional - Food quality need to be improved - We had egg Dosa and no smell of egg. - Biryani was ok ok - No concept crispy dosa here. - they are asking to charge 2$ Extra for opening your mouth - Onion $2, Masala $2. - Its not about $2, its about how you demand and present yourself I gave 4* on my 1st visit and reduced to 2* after my 2nd visit. Good luck .

Overall, everything was pretty good. However, the entire hotel smelled like a restroom, which was very unpleasant. Even though the staff was busy, the odor made it difficult to enjoy our food. More attention should be given to cleanliness and maintaining a fresh smell.

I don't usually provide a review but this one I had to because of how bad the customer service was. I ordered the Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Briyani lunch combo and I waited more than 45 minutes and the food did not come. When I canceled the order, they didn't even apologize. Anyways, I have been living in San Diego for a very long time and restaurants like this with very poor customer service will disappear in a year. If you read this review and want to try good Indian restaurants in Mira Mesa area, there are a lot of other choices. This restaurant simply doesn't care about the customer satisfaction.

The food had 0 taste. Not sure if the chef knows what ghee roast is. This was a spicy watery gravy with lots of oil no ghee. Even the Mysore masala soda was tasteless.

I visited today after placing an order over the phone, specifically requesting no fresh onions or garlic, and I double-checked this during collection. To my surprise, both dishes contained tons of onions. If you have specific food requests or allergies, I would advise refraining from ordering at this place. FYI: The worst thing is that not the reply not even accepting the fault. When you look at my photo attached ...you can see the fresh onion piece all over!!

Love their tea and samosas! But unfortunately their gravy and starter/appetizer was not that impressive… gravy was too thin/watery and chicken 65 was a little too dry! Dosa was a total disappointment! Chutney was was plain. Sambar was simply a daal. Everything was cold! Definitely better options for Indian food available in the neighborhood.
