They are always so friendly, efficient and helpful, service is top notch! The food is really good, especially the churros, I recommend the strawberry and the cream filled. (Swoon) They always have a special if you are on a budget, and they take EBT, but only inside, not at drive thru. 🙃😍🤓 Great place!

My Daughter, myself, and my grandkids love Sombrero with a passion. Infact, my daughter moved to the state of Georgia over three years. And she comes home to Missions Gorge Sombrero to eat the food every chance that she gets. My grandkids always me visit once a year for Thanksgiving, and to eat at Sombrero everyday mostly during their two week visits. They always take some food home on the plan back to Georgia when they leave. My family says that the only that they don't like about living is Georgia is that they do not have Sombreros. Smile I agree with them. I have no intentions of moving away from this great mexican food here in San diego, California. The staff knows me at the Sombrero located in Mission Gorge. Absolutely love this place. If I had to use 1 word it'd be Consistency!!!! This place is ALWAYS getting my order exactly right, super fresh ingredients and literally the ONLY taco shop in san diego that doesn't use lard. Its kind of crazy that every other toco shop uses lard in their tortillas and beans but Sombreros doesn't. This place has had the same excellent quality since I was a kid.

Wow, had the best service of any Sombrero location here. It was over the top friendly. They even brought the food to our table when it was ready. We got an Adobado Burrito, a Calamari Taco, and a bowl of Menudo. Everything was very good. Update: Got a Carne Asada Burrito and a Surf & Turf bowl. Both were very good. Update: Got a Carne Asada Burrito. It was excellent, with a fair amount of tender juicy steak. This is the only fast food chain we've found that has the quality and friendly service of a mom & pop restaurant. Update: Got a bowl of menudo and a carne asada burrito. Both were excellent. Update: Got Adobado and Calamari tacos. They were excellent.

The restaurant was slammed with the National Taco Day promo, with the drive thru line out to the street. My online order was ready as promised when I walked in the door. Both tacos were fresh, hot and tasty. Happy Taco Tuesday!

9/16/2025 at 12:22 am got the midnight munchies.. Marisa hooked us up when I ordered the Chile relleno burrito and the bean and cheese burrito. Their burritos are very good. You need to try sombrero's Mexican food.

Xtreme burrito is well worth the money $25 and it comes in a party tray lol i thought they gave me someone else catering order when i picked mine up.

Quick stop at immaculately clean taco shop. Very tasty food and quick accurate service. Dining room tables and floor were very clean as well as the salsa station was freshened up and wiped clean with clean serving utensils. Much appreciated!

Great rolled chicken tacos with guacamole and sour cream. Quick take out service. Came back for the Carne Asada burrito. WOW It was excellent. So full of steak. Barely finished it. Glad I didn’t get the meal. No room for it.

Sombrero's has always been a staple taco shop I have gone to for years. Quality food and great prices. I suggest the chimichanga with beef or chicken and try their chunky salsa. This last time I tried the wet or special burrito. It was really good and HUGE! I have been disappointed with their hot sauce lately. It's had a chemical after taste the last 2 times I went. I loved their hot sauce and it's a bummer I can't enjoy it anymore. Otherwise I highly recommend this place!

So, we went to this location because my husband likes the one in El Cajon. Well, this place was not good. I mean, it had no flavor and also they need to learn how to roll a Buritto. Sorry, we will not come back.

I paid for pico de gallo ($1.90) to be added to 2 California Burritos, but when I got home, there was none in either. How disappointing considering that I paid a 10% tip too ($4.25) so my order wouldn't be wrong. The pico was on the 4 rolled tacos though. I guess I was supposed to open the burritos in front of them to check for accuracy before I left. And I guess I will have to from now on when I go to other places. Anyway, I won't be returning to this Sombrero.

I live at the apartments behind this location and I enjoy coming here for my late night cravings. Recently though I’ve noticed a drop off in service though and it seems like the girl working the front might need to get another job that doesn’t require her to work with customers. For the past two times I’ve came here this month I’ve been given attitude for no reason whatsoever. All I do is place my order online and pick up in store, a easy interaction between customer and employee. This girl just rolls her eyes with no care and grabs my things just to throw it at me. I let it got the first time but a second is just not right. I love this place but honestly I’m not coming back if this is the people you hire
