Good to have some Chinese noodles. Staff were pheasant and accommodate our request without a fuss.

No brown rice, out on fried rice, try to charge tips on no service, precooked ready to eat fast foods.

For almost $20, you get a fresh and decent meal. It’s similar to Panda Express, with food served very quickly.

It's inside terminal G, took the train from terminal 2, I was hungry so I looked for rice and koi has it... had curry chicken, broccoli and carrots sauted and fried rice for 14.99 plus tax. Drink not included. Need to pay extra.

I liked both the authentic Chinese / American Chinese food. Dim sum (har gaw (shrimp) and sticky rice) are comparable to what you would find at a dim sum restaurant. Fried rice and noodles are good. There are lots of beef and chicken dishes. There is a lot of seating in the food court. It’s a great place to go to if you want a meal before going through TSA.

Pro tip: order the dim sums and noodle soup from the menu rather than get the two sides with noodles/rice combo that is ready to go. Koi Palace’s specialty is their dim sum, not the greasy Americanized version of Chinese food, which Panda Express does better. Soup dumplings are soupy as expected and pretty good.

For airport American-Chinese food, this is a shockingly good option. Definitely the best airport Chinese food I've ever had in the states- get the Mapo tofu if it's fresh, it's got fantastic flavor. Picture shown is Mapo tofu + fried rice, $14 total (again, pretty decent price for American big city airport food)

I used to come here all the time on my lunch break when I worked at SFO. This is nothing like Panda Express, they use premium ingredients, everything is made from scratch and it is not that Chinese American nonsense but authentic. The prices here are reasonable since their name is well known across the Bay Area. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never had an issue at any of my visits. Their menu consists of lunch meals, dim sum, special dishes that are made to order, soups, etc. If any of their item is out, I usually wait for the next batch since I know it will be hot and fresh and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. I highly recommend this place if you have a limited time, a quick bite before a flight or for all the Chinese food lovers. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.

A cheerful mother’s voice echoed across the food court. The $19 wonton noodle soup was loaded with plump wontons, and I relaxed comfortably on a sofa seat.

2 sides with rice or noodles $14.99 3 sides with rice or noodles $16.99 After the long flight and not having rice or Asian food for three weeks. We were craving for rice and the fried rice was delicious! Make sure you order Xiao long BAO (soup dumpling), it was delicious. I can rate this 8 out of 10, of course considering that we are getting food from the airport! Thanks for satisfying us! Service wasn't bad too and we tipped 15%

I visited Koi Palace at SFO before my connecting flight and had the wonton noodle soup. It was served steaming hot, with a light and satisfying broth, perfect for anyone craving a comforting noodle dish. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was quick. For Korean travelers missing warm, hearty soups, I highly recommend stopping by here before your next flight!

I always have the special order dishes which you order from the cashier. They are made to order. You got a pager and they page you when the food is made. Much better than the express stuff the scoop out of the buffet trays.

Dinner plate with chow mein, orange chicken and thai chicken curry was great. Highly recommend their Thai chicken curry. It was delicious. Surely better than what I expected and much much better than the ratings mentioned here.

Surprisingly good food at the airport food court. I got the wonton noodle soup. Noodles were nice and chewy and it came with 4 big wontons and broccoli. Soup a tiny bit bland but overall still hit the spot. Portion was generous and I was too full to finish the whole thing. Not the cheapest at $14 but not bad at all for airport prices.

Located i side of the airport. Not too friendly staff but the food was decent. My husband liked the noodles a lot. The Short Rib with broccoli was very good. The meat was very tender and tasty.

Nice to have this place for a quick bite. Ordered the fired rice. Up to standard. Besides, the dim sum here is better cooked than its another branch. ( they are all using the same incidents from its central kitchen)

Wish I could give half stars cause this is a 3.5 not a true 4! I went here last year and again just now and got the same thing; the pulled noodle wonton soup. The food itself is pretty good all things considered, but this year’s portion was smaller than last year’s. The spoon they give you is laughable; it’s made of flimsy wood and warps at the slightest touch of the hot soup water. I gave up on using it when it became so flat it could no longer hold water 😭 also, who pays 19$ for this? Desperate travelers, that’s who.

If you’re looking for delicious food at San Francisco Airport, Koi Palace is a fantastic choice! Their menu has a great variety of options, so no matter what you’re craving, you’ll find something that hits the spot. The food here is truly amazing. The flavors are rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. My personal favorite is the shrimp fried rice—it’s absolutely delicious! The rice is cooked just right, the shrimp are juicy and flavorful, and every bite is packed with that classic, comforting taste you’d expect from top-notch Chinese cuisine. One of the best things about Koi Palace is their on-the-line choice menu, making it super easy to grab something quick without sacrificing quality. Whether you’re in the mood for dim sum, noodles, chicken or a hearty rice dish, they have something for everyone. If you’re passing through SFO and want a meal that actually tastes great (not just airport food), Koi Palace is definitely worth a stop.

The size of the portion is huge. Noodles were too greasy for my taste, but it was compensated with the enormous amount of chicken. Teriyaki chicken was better than orange one, but either is good at the end of the day. 17 dollars for such a portion in the airport feels good enough.

B
Brian Cho

I don't know why this place has such low ratings. The food was pretty good and the portions were a lot more than what you would typically get at an airport for $17.

Food came in big portions but expensive due to location. Chow mein was very greasy. Kung pao chicken tasted average.

L

I was trying to fill up before my international flight and figured this was the most food for the money. A little greasy but it was a good serving of food. Definitely not the healthiest thing to eat but filling.

D

It was simply ok...these places are solely reliant on how long the food has been sitting in the warmers when you order...my portions were simply lukewarm.

T

I stopped by because I was craving some Chinese food while waiting for my layover. As expected, all foods in airports are overpriced. The chicken was also pretty dry and hard. Seasoning was not bad. Staff is friendly but nothing above and beyond.

This review is only for its milk. For those who need to purchase milk and chocolate milk inside in the airport, this place has it. My kids love drinking milk and we were able to find it at this place. It is pricy, $7.50 for two. They also have fruit packaged. The check out was quick.

Food is acceptable but the service was horrendous. The woman at the counter was rude and refused to provide additional cutleries when asked. This is unacceptable, considering the outrageous prices they are charging. AVOID!

I was excited when I saw this Chinese restaurant in SFO International Departure, but soon I was so disappointed. The portion size of the food are really “less & cute”, yes, I need to use this word to describe how small portion they are serving you, especially the Shanghai Juicy Xiao Long Bao, you pay 11USD but got only 4 “cola cap” in the plate , it doesn’t full-fill the price they charged. In US, I tired similar food in Nan Xiang and DING TAI FUNG many times , which are 300% much mooooooooooooore better than this stingy restaurant. At least they serve 6 pieces and larger size for Xiao Long Bao. The food tastes are fair average , staff is ok, the waitress was attentively. I will not try this chain restaurants in other places unless they owner do some improvement.

Most of the Koi Palace Express I have tried weren't very good, but this one inside San Francisco International Airport is the worst. I don't know why Koi Palace would allow such a lowest food quality fast-food restaurant to be part of its business or use the name Koi Palace. The food I tried before was not good. This time, it's worse! I’m sure this is my last time eating at this Koi Palace Express.

I don’t care the quality of airport food. But this woman was too much impolite and unkind and rude. This restaurant is terrible. Please don’t make your memory get ruined here.

Seriously the worst airport Asian food at the highest price. $4 for a 20oz soda and $13 for a cold two entree meal. Aweful!!! The only reason I'm not throwing it out is because I just spent $20 for lunch. Even the rice is the cheapest rice you can buy.

A
Ana Bundy

Just horrible! Noodles in my soup tasted like ramen noodles. My husband's plate tasted a little bit better. For this price food has to be at least tasty

K

Ordered a made to order BBQ pork fried rice to bring on the plane. Had high hopes that my lunch would be delicious... Too bad. There was very little pork and veggies - see photo. I ate a quarter of the meal and threw the rest in the garbage. Wouldn't go back again. Terrible.

I was lured in by the name koi palace, as that's one of the best dim sum places in the bay. Koi palace express is sadly not koi palace. Don't go here :( the fast food and dim sum taste bad. Like really bad. Really really bad. Haven't tried anything else

Worst restuarant in SFO. I called waitress several times. She was just in front of me. She ignored and when I called her 5 times, she responded. I ordered shu mai and shrimp dumpling and 2 items and rice. When I paid money, she was rude. Taste was not good. If it is your last meal with your friend, please go other place. There are several reasturants in international airport. Din't waste your time and money at here.

S

Terrible. We both had the 2 meat meal. $40. Panda Express kills it - and that’s not saying much. Sorry. Lame.

D

I generally have low expectations for airport restaurants, mostly just want something fast and warm. I appreciate that there is a dim sum option (seems pretty unique for an airport spot). However food is not impressive and service was bad (slow, unkind, she ignored me for a while, let someone cut in front of me and it felt like she was killing time and hoping to have the other employee serve me, then gave up on that since there was a line behind me). Been a while since it's been that bad for me, even at airports.

O
Oreo

I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but this place has truly disappointed me with the staff's attitude and its pricing. I understand that it’s located in an airport, but come on—the portion sizes and taste of the food are outrageous. Paying $25 for rice, two sides, and a drink is just unreasonable. 😑

J
Jennfer Lemke

The chow mein got the one star. The orange chicken was not good the teriyaki chicken was flavor less. Also the way the teriyaki chicken is served in large chunks makes it hard to eat because you get small bio degradable utensils that do not cut the food. So disappointed that I wasted my money here.

C
Christina S

Food quality and flavor has gone waaaaay down since I was here last in 2020. i was literally excited to have this food, upon arriving to airport. Orange chicken didn’t taste right. Like some was old and some was fresh. Threw out the whole $20 plate. Bummer!

S
Steven “BuffaloSteve”

Long layover. I politely asked to sample the mapo tofu. They said no. There were almost no customers and they were dead. Really? If I like it, I would buy a plate. I walked away and bought food from the restaurant next to them (potrero grill) The food is like at a mall and on display. Already cooked. The best practice is to provide a sample with a toothpick. They need to learn best practices.

C
Christina Shin

They only give a little Cheapest drink is a can of soda for $3.75 We were sharing 2 plates for 4 ppl so we asked for 2 more chopsticks and they asked to give them the spoons back.. when we bought rice… lmao They crazy Just go to Wendy’s all the way down the other side

$23 for a plate of dry nasty chicken teriyaki and orange chicken. Meat was very hard and tasteless, same as rice.

I have 3% battery charge remaining and I need to show the digital boarding pass to board my flight. But the food is so bad here that I am risking boarding the flight to just warn you all before eating here. Soggy, cold, over priced version of food. Better to stay hungry for 5 hours than eat this.

Just go hungry! This place makes Panda Express seem like gourmet faire. Tough greasy gloppy and stale. Koi palace was supposedly brought to SFO to showcase Bay Area cuisine. What a failure.

Z

Chicken tastes like it s spoiled, beef too salty, tofu taste very artificial, noodles all stick together, like literally whole patch of noodle, rice cold and dry. The dim sum is also cold and taste meh. This restaurant is not recommended at all.

Avoid Koi Palace Express at SFO – Overpriced and Terrible Service Paid $25 for a meal and got only 3 tiny slices of beef in my Mongolian beef order. When I asked about it, the rude filipino staff said, “Manager only allows 3 slices of beef.” On top of that, when I asked for an extra spoon, she took one of our chopstick back and gave us a spoon, saying “One meal only gets one pair of utensil.” Ridiculous. Save your money and eat elsewhere!

Worst Chinese food I have ever had and thats including frozen meals from the grocery store. It was so bad I cannot wait to use the bathroom to get it out of my body. Even if you are starving DO NOT EAT HERE. This place needs to be closed and replaced with something else ASAP.
