Royal Ground Coffee

I was looking for a local café to enjoy my iced Matcha latte and work remotely. This café had just the right combo. I loved the cozy natural aesthetic, ample seating, free Wi-Fi and delicious food.

Five stars for the service alone! The staff are extremely welcoming. I tend to come here on weekends when I'm leaving the city, and need to get something to eat. Their breakfast sandwiches are simple, yet delicious. And they come out quickly too. They also have Thai iced tea, which is great for me because I have cravings now and then. It's freshly made, and I can order it with almond milk. There's lots of seating inside, and wifi is available. One morning I ordered my coffee "for here," but my ride came unexpectedly early, so I asked if I could get a paper cup to go. I don't really like doing that since they use mugs for those drinking in their cafe, so using a paper cup plus washing the mug are added costs. But they obliged and were cool about it. And I like the music. It's relaxing, and I feel like I'm away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Love this place! They have the best staff and a very great spot for locals as well as people passing through, who are looking for an authentic SF experience at a ma n pa shop. Great prices and delicious lox bagel!! One of my favorite in the city. Also love their dirty chai and cappuccino.

I feel like I’m part of the family here and I’m a big introvert. The lattes are delicious and made quickly and the Lox Royale is filling. So happy to have this less than 3 minutes away from me :)

Best coffee shop in the district. Fantastic service, clean, friendly, positive, tasty. After first posting this review, I decided to visit more coffee shops in the district. Most my work is remote. Hands down, this is the best coffee shop in the Outer Richmond. What sets apart is the people. This is a family owned and operated business, and the pride shows! Royal Grounds is a place where locals go, and it provides a unique and authentic view into one of SF's most interesting neighborhoods. The only one on the area that gets 5 stars from me!

Remarkably good coffee, excellent cappuccino, and croissants even a Frenchman would love. Small and cozy with sidewalk seating. Nice selection of brunch bagels and sandwiches. Free WiFi. Funky, slightly bohemian - vibe operated by very friendly sisters from SE Asia.

Stopped by here for brunch after a nice hike/walk. The service was slow but it was all worth it. The sandwich was heavenly. Great fresh ingredients with amazing atmosphere atound. Would definitely be back again.

I’m visiting the city and found this out of nowhere. The white mocha was so delicious. The barista started making my order before I even made it to the register. The place is so cute.

I just love this place! The owners are so friendly and remember everyone in my family’s name. They are always patient with the kids. It’s a chill neighborhood cafe that’s cozy and friendly.

Best little neighborhood coffee shop in town! Years ago I lived around the corner from this place, and I went as often as I could. Now I find excuses to go to this side of town so I can drop in. The coffee is excellent. The sandwiches are delicious, and they have a wonderful array of pastries and other treats. The atmosphere is very cozy and neighborly. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

The three sisters, Bonnie, Pisey, Rath, make a family atmosphere of the bistro, but the sandwiches are fresh and excellently made too! Very well priced! The pastrami on toasted sourdough ($8.95) and the egg, cheese, bacon on toasted everything bagel ($6.95) are our favorites, but my wife and I've tried pretty much their whole menu. All well made and fresh ingredients! We eat brunch here and the regulars are many, attesting to its quality and good chill vibe. Kinda like Cheers but with good sandwiches ❤

Just happened to be in the area visiting in late December. Warm and cozy, great drip coffee. Barista gave me a Xmas gift out of the blue. Cheerful and humorous group her. Patrons are all chatting like they come here all the time. Not too noisy.

I had Delicious hot coffee and my husband had herbal tea. It’s a lovely and colourful cafe with lots of seating.

My husband and I ate at this little coffee grand breakfast spot three days in a row when we came in for the Dead and Company concerts and were staying at a Airbnb nearby. Great breakfast sandwiches and huge cups of coffee! And three lovely sisters working there. I’m still thinking about it.

It's the perfect quintessential platonic idea of a coffeeshop from the 90s, comfy seating, great sandwiches, reasonable prices, neighborly, friendly and drinks of all kinds. Finally a decent lox bagel that doesn't break the bank! And you can actually comfortably use a laptop. Do note the Sunset is always a little chilly so bring a jacket.

There is more space to sit than it appears and it almost feels like sitting at a friend’s living room. Great for chatting, working, or just having a pleasant meal.

This is a decent little coffee shop. They offer the classics and specialty drinks too, they also had things like an Arnold Palmer and hot apple cider which you can't get at every coffee place. The food selection was pretty good, also. There's a good verity of breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

Royal Ground Coffee on Clement Street, is a perfect location to grab a bagel, breakfast sandwich etc and Of course a expertly prepared beverage which are all prepared relatively quickly depending on order it's ahead of you.

Great little coffee shop with a regular flow of customers but not too busy or crowded. Good wifi connection. They serve Mighty Leaf and Stash teas with your normal coffee options. Pastries and bagels/sandwiches available. Veggie bagel was pretty good. Basic while fresh. Very friendly baristas! They know their customers by name :)

Fast and friendly service but cappuccino was not great.

Cute cafe, liked the taste of their decaf americano, you almost wouldn’t be able to tell it’s decaf from the taste. Their mocha is too sweet, couldn’t finish the whole cup because of it. They prefer cash over credit card and charge a $0.5 credit card fee for orders under $5, rare to see at cafes.

Can't speak for the coffee but very average bagels and cream cheese. I would recommend laundromat nearby for better quality bagels. Loved the filling in the veggie special though.

While the staff/owners are really nice, the service, if you are not a regular, is really bad. I've gone 3 times now (this will be my last) and each time, after I ordered my drinks...the staff/owners would move any regular customers drink ahead of making mine (I'm not a regular). On each occasion, the staff helped regular customers (some with the same drink as me) before making mine. Today it was 6 regulars before coming back to my drink. While this place may be great for regulars, if you are not one, I highly recommend trying some of their competitors in the same location.
