Had not been in SMA for over a year, so went to this restaurant which I had enjoyrdd before. Was greeted by Jane who explained there was a new owner and a modified menu. Decided to reeeturn a few days later for lunch and live music (Sunday at 1). So happy we went back. The location remains stunning and peaceful. The place has a laid back and inclusive vibe and Jane, Jett and the crew make sure you are welcome and well fed. Guests are friends. The burger I ordered was perfect and the salad was also muy saboroso. Martin added a cool musical vibe to the whole afternoon. This is a place to visit for good food, drink and people and isn't that what most people are seeking in SMA. See you soon!

Excelente ambiente, pedimos un guacamole con totopos y unas papitas de Galeana con un aderezo delicioso(no se que era pero rico). Rolando y Jess, nos atendieron súper bien. Nos gastamos $650mx con bebida y todo.

We happened by El Grillo Bardo walking down Hidalgo. There’s an Italian place in front but in the back is this beautiful sanctuary with delicious Mexican food and some of the nicest people we’ve met in San Miguel! Renaldo, the owner and Jane, our server became our new best friends. The art is amazing, the food is special and the atmosphere is like being in nature because you are. The shrimp tostadas were not only yummy but plated like Chef Gordon Ramsey! We hugged Jane as we left and promised to come back before we leave. Best place so far in San Miguel by far.

El Grillo has been the go to place for us. The food is amazing. I really love anything with the Mole. Everything is made fresh to order and you can tell. Or just come for drinks and soak in the atmosphere. The space is magical and the family is wonderful. You feel right at home.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem. The food is fantastic, but there are many restaurants here in San Miguel de Allende that offer great dishes. What makes El Grillo Bardo stand out are the owners and staff. They made me feel like family as soon as I arrived. I hope you can stumble across El Grillo Bardo soon.

My girlfriend and I went there for a late lunch yesterday, and their hamburgers were to die for. They were probably the best we’ve had since we arrived here five years ago. The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed talking to Jet and her staff. The place is very cozy and inviting, and the terrace is really pleasant — I felt like I was in my own home. El Grillo feels like a relaxed, welcoming spot — it’s unpretentious, cozy, and has an artistic, eclectic style. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the staff are genuinely friendly. We’ll definitely be returning soon.

Found this AMAZING little family owned restaurant/ art gallery. Everything was delicious. Apparently the most recipes are family recipes. The staff was friendly & after 2 visits they seemed to know me & my travel companions. They had live music.

Walked past El Grillo Bardo looking for lunch and I'm happy that I stopped in. It's a cool restaurant & bar, and also an art gallery. Rolando was super warm and welcoming and the food was delicious! It a nice place to take a break from exploring San Miguel and enjoy a nice breeze, meal and cold beer. I'll certainly be back!

Wonderful garden bar & cafe! We had a wonderful lunch here and we've had good drinks here too. This place has always been so great. Current owners are only a couple of months, so it's definitely a brand new place in San Miguel. I love that the translation is singing cricket, or something like that lol

Ronaldo and Maria do a fantastic job with amazing quality food. You can tell time and care go into each dish. The drinks were amazing (I recommend the hibiscus Marg) the atmosphere is great, not only are they great chefs but artists as well and we are excited to see what local artists display next time we come back. We had an amazing experience at El Grillo Bardo! Not only was the food fantastic, but the service was amazing as well. To start, the hibiscus margarita with tajin was to die for. We got the fried quesadillas (which I may dream about tonight) as well as three types of tacos which were all phenomenal! The owner, Ronaldo and his wife create all of the artwork found at the restaurant and they were the best hosts. I hope we can come back to San Miguel in the future to see how successful this restaurant will become.
