Recensioni di Dumpling 85 San Ramon
First visit for me with my friend to celebrate her bday. Sunday early dinner and easy to get a table. We ordered way too much for our appetite but it made for great leftovers! XLB, jajiang noodles, fried soup dumpling bun, beef roll and string beans. Easy to order on your phone, service was friendly and food came out fast. Would definitely visit to try more menu items!
Dumpling85 – San Ramon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (First-to-go favorite!) If comfort food had a headquarters, Dumpling85 would be it. We ordered a spread (see pics!) and every bite delivered. But let me spotlight the stars: the wheat noodles and dumplings. Absolute melt-for moments 🫠—I genuinely wanted seconds, thirds, maybe a nap and then more. The wheat noodles had that perfect chew, soaking up flavor like they were born to do it. And the dumplings? Pillowy, savory, and gone too fast. If my belly had more room, I’d still be eating. This place just earned a permanent spot on my go-to list. Cozy vibes, crave-worthy bites, and a menu that begs for repeat visits.
Absolutely one of the best places for dumplings and a lot more. The flavors are fantastic and they are so moist and fresh I drive from Hayward just for this. Highly recommended
This is our new favorite place for authentic Northern Chinese in San Ramon. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered using our phone though online menu system by scanning the QR code in the table, and the food came in minutes. We ordered pork Xiao Long Bao, Lanzhou Beef Noodle, Ginger scallion noodle, scallion pancake, vegetable dumpling and been roll. The vegetable dumpling was a bit blank for my taste. The other dishes were very good and about 4 out of 5 stars. The price is reasonable and the portion is generous. We'll definitely come back again
Amazing food! Their xiao long baos were hand made, and near the tables. They had great service, and delicious food! I especially enjoyed their spicy noodles, as their chili sauce was super spicy! Their pan-fried pork buns were also super crispy! Highly recommend this place! They're not joking about their spicy
A lovely comfy setting where you eat juice-explosive XLB. Ingredients are great in quality, with seasoning leaning towards the healthy side. Not too oily or salty like some other XLB places. XLB are reasonably similar to DTF. The phone browser ordering system and check out system adds convenience. Only thing to improve is that waiters/waitress need to think ahead of time of service expected. For example, when serving XLB, vinegar and ginger needs to come at the same moment.
My cousin and I heard this was a new place that popped up so we decided to try for lunch one day. The place itself is relatively small, but they’re working with every inch they’ve got. Everyone there was working very hard to put out the best product they could. We tried all the different types of dumplings offered and every single one of them was delicious! Dumpling 85 will now be in the rotation whenever I’m in the area.
Went there because traffic was stopped on 680. What a great find. Some regulars and staff were very friendly. Ordering on phone was odd for me (regulars said it's faster), so we got it done. Regulars recommended Beef Roll, which was good, but my favorite (of what we tried) was Shrimp Noodles, which I don't see in online menu. My wife and some other regulars really liked the Spicy Pork Wonton. We also tried the Shrimp Pork Chive Dumpling, which was ok. Even though it is 25 miles away, it is definitely worth going back to try other items.
This is my first time here so only ordered xlb and beef brisket noodle soup. Both were delicious. The specific spoon for xlb’s are only useful if one has a big mouth and could swallow the xlb whole. I ended up using chop sticks as usual after squirting 1/2 of the broth out of my first bao. Bypass the spoon if you have a tiny mouth. Will definitely come back to try the beef rolls and 生煎包. The xlbs came with two dipping sauces- the regular red vinegar with ginger and a sesame soy sauce.
Amazing food, wonderful service. Middle of summer and it was air conditioned. Service was amazing they were nice and very quick. We went around 5pm and it wasn't super busy so we got a table without waiting. Food was a great price. Dough was fresh/hand made and you can taste it! 10/10 will be recommending this place and bringing everyone here.
Xiao long bao is very authentic. The portion of Lanzhou beef noodles is large and worth the price a lot. Soy bean curd salad is great.

Great food, reasonably priced. Standouts were their pork xiao long bao and spicy pork wonton. Pan fried pork bun was unique and picture worthy. Non- dumpling dishes on nearby tables looked very good with generous portions. Weekday lunch service was quick and friendly. Nice setting with both inside and outside seating.

Dec 11 2025 - Dinner Arrived with reservations, got promptly seated Server patiently answered our questions and gave recommendations Ordering was smooth using QR code :) The chicken and pork soup dumplings were hot and fresh The edamame were tasty The noodles were the highlight ! - wok tasty and smoky ! We will be back :)
It was busy at 12:00 pm on Lunar New Year and with a party of 2 we got lucky to get seating at a table. The restaurant was already pretty full and people continued arriving for dine in and take-out. I recommend going early to get seating if you don’t want to wait. It was my first time here and learned that we could just seat ourselves and scan the QR code on the table to order our food. Xiao Long Bao was amazing! Loved that the skin was thin and the soup was so flavorful. Pan fried pork buns were also juicy, soft on top and crispy on the bottom - so good! The beef roll was crispy and had good texture, but keep in mind the beef is cold cut style and not like typical cooked beef. It tasted plain and needed sauce. The shrimp egg and chives pocket tasted delicious, but you could hardly tell there was any shrimp inside. Considering how busy it was, the service was pretty good and the food came out pretty quick! The portions were big for the price you pay. Overall we had a great experience and would come back to dine here again!
As I was browsing through Yelp restaurants, this one caught my attention as I had never tried and I was in the mood for some xiao long bao (XLB). This place replaced the previous sushi place that I didn't quite like and this establishment was very COVID-ready: Had the menu QR code on the table and you could place an order straight from it. Very convenient as I didn't have to order from the counter and take my sweet time to decide and order. Well, it didn't take me long as I wanted their XLB as it should be one of their signature items. I also like beef rolls so I ordered that as well. I didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive at the table. The beef roll was up to par. The XLB was pretty comparable to iShanghai Delight so now I have options for XLB in San Ramon. This was a solid place with good food. I'm not sure how crowded it usually gets during lunch hours as I came in after 1:30pm. I would come back and I would try their dumpling and pan fried buns.
They know what they are doing. The skin of dumpling, XLB is super thin, hand-made! What an explosion of meat juice from XLB! The best part of green onion pancake is the texture is so gooey and flaky like multi-thin layers dough. Downside is they don’t offer a good selection of chili oil, sauce, ginger that bump up the perfection of flavor, balance. anyway, i would recommend considering that it is located in residential area, San Ramon. Overall, it is ok to me except for poor customer service.

Been here twice and got take out once. The food here is good but there are some dishes that are significantly better than the others. My favorites were the beef roll, spicy XLB, and beef brisket noodle soup (in that order).
We always come and eat dumplings , always good. Today so regret to try pork potstickers, it is not slowly pan fried ones but just deep fried the whole thing. It is not a good way of cooking, very cheap way of fast food cooking like, so chewy skins and can’t even eat. Do not order pork potstickers, not worth the price and taste.
New Updated review- 2025 March. Dropping two star for not maintaining hygiene. The hygiene was shocking - dust fell from the light fixtures into our food. We were also given broken plates and bowls. It's a shame, because the food itself wasn't bad, but the lack of cleanliness completely ruined the experience. Please see photos and videos. King of Dumplings This is our go to place for every weekend. Fairly priced items with best customer service. You get the table in 10 mins and can’t go wrong with the food. Beef dumplings are served piping hot and hot and sour soup are freshly made and now our favorite.

My brother and I visited this restaurant last night with high expectations, but we left feeling deeply disappointed due to what I can only describe as blatant differential treatment. It was disheartening to experience a level of service that felt like a double standard based on our background--especially coming from a fellow member of the Asian community. The server, an Asian woman in her 50s with short hair, was nearly invisible to us. Aside from bringing water at the start, she completely ignored our table. She never mentioned that we should order via the QR code; we had to figure that out ourselves. Meanwhile, she was incredibly attentive to all the non-Asian guests, proactively offering refills and takeout boxes with a smile. We had to call her multiple times just to get her attention, and she only looked our way after a kitchen staff member intervened. To make matters worse, the food was a letdown. The 'signature' pan-fried buns were lukewarm, thick-skinned, and clearly not fresh. I even found a piece of a wire scrub in my beef noodles. Although she did replace the noodles quickly, the overall lack of hospitality was jarring. Despite the poor service, we remained polite and still left an 18% tip, but honestly, the experience was a huge letdown. We came for the reputation, but we won't be returning. I don’t want to call it discrimination because it would be too sad to us.
I am usually one to give the benefit of the doubt and hold off on low reviews, however in this case I can't. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, with a 3 month old and a 2 year old, ready to try out the food that was recommended to us, and honestly, looked very delicious from the pictures. However, we didn't even get a chance to try the food because the initial service, or lack there of, simply did not allow us to. I'd like to point out, the Yelp page, the Google Page, their own webpage, and the sign in front of their door, all showed Sunday hours as 11:00am-9:00pm, nothing about closing in the middle of the afternoon, keep that in mind. We walked in, door fully open, with 3 people sitting on tables on their phones with dirty plates in front of them, ready to try out the food. An older gentleman gets up and I ask if it's ok if I sit on a particular table, he smiles and says ok. As I begin to sit my kids down, he pulls out his phone and simply says "4:30". He didn't seem to know much English so I reply "Are you saying you are closed until 4:30" and he shakes his head saying "yes". I pull out my phone to check the time and it says 4:18. So basically, this gentleman told me to leave because it wasn't 4:30 and they were not serving people. Like, what? Your hours do not mention anything about being closed, you show as being open. I traveled over 30 minutes, I had a crying kid because he was hungry, and you want to turn away business? Very classy. I realized there was no point in saying anything to the gentleman so we just left. And safe to say we will NOT return. Goodluck with your business sir, but please, update your hours. If you want to close up for an hour or so I do not care, but I do care about false advertisement, which is what you are doing with your hours. TL;DR Servers tells us to leave because they weren't open for 12 minutes even though the sign at the door showed they were
