The best meal we had during our vacation in Italy. We asked the chef (owner?) to put together five antipasti that she thought we should try after we couldn't decide which to pick. All of them were excellent, but our favorites were the stuffed mussels, the octopus with avocado, and the frutti di mare with bread. We had ravioli and octopus pasta as first platters and got the peach crumble and the lemon sorbet as dessert. The service was outstanding! The women care about their food and their customers. I wish we had had more days to go back again to try their other items on the menu, but we had to leave that same night (driving, so no wine for dinner). And, like I said, the women were all just SO great. They can be proud of their art of cooking. Thanks for an outstanding dinner!

Excellent and unique dishes, especially the first courses (the broth with stuffed lettuce leaves was exceptional). The second courses are a bit low in salt. Small portions. Prices are a bit on the high end. Overall, highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant with several vegan and gluten-free options, which are truly appreciated. The staff is helpful and attentive to your needs. They have an outdoor terrace and outdoor seating on a quaint street. I really enjoyed it!

We had lunch here, tempted by the high review scores. I'll start by saying that the rating should be based on the structure and the price. That is, if you're a trattoria with affordable prices, you have to leave several aspects aside. If you show up with a menu with dishes costing no less than €16 for a first course and €17-20 for a second course, you have to be impeccable. We wanted to try three different first courses: spaghetti with pesto, which arrived in very thin spaghetti form and barely warm, but above all with a pesto that tasted of nothing, not basil, not pine nuts, not even garlic. Having found a piece of almond, I explicitly asked the owner, who admitted that their pesto contained almonds, walnuts, and tree nuts, as well as a few pine nuts, and that according to them, that was the recipe for Ligurian pesto. The dish "spaghetti alla chitarra with fresh local anchovies and Civita di Cascia roveja (a Slow Food Presidium)" was an inedible mess of thin, mushy pasta, no more than 3 cm long, with completely unrelated and tasteless ingredients. On the other hand, the chestnut flour tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms were extremely salty, and despite being hungry, we had to send them both back. They correctly charged us only for one dish, but I go to restaurants to eat well, not to avoid paying for inedible food. Cost: €3

Tucked away in a small alley, you can find Rondo. They have tables outside as well as a small secluded garden. We we’re greeted in the most friendly way by the cameriere who took our reservation. Based on earlier reviews and pictures we expected a different menu than the one that was offered. It’s lacking some Italian classics like the “tagliata” so for meat lovers the choice was a bit disappointing. The food itself was good and reasonably priced but not up to the standard I’m used to in Italy.

Very strange attitude towards visitors, especially towards foreign guests. Pity to see how a great idea of the Chef can be broken down by service quality and attitude of the waiters. We arrived at the place at 10.47pm as we didn’t know the working hours of the place as there was no signage anywhere seen. It turned out that the restaurant was closing at 11.00pm (in 13 minutes). The faces of the waiters, while they were serving the table, need a separate description: they where showing to us by all means that we are not welcome there. Very rude, with no smile or a smooth talk. Then they refused to serve drinks to us if we didn't order anything to eat. When we asked why, they just spit out the words, that this is a restaurant, we serve food but not drinks! Go to a bar! We are strangers, we didn’t know, that that was a restaurant, and that we can't just have somethingto drink there. We just saw a place, which was much quieter than the others in this beautifull city. And we didn't know that in the restaurant they'd rather serve food in 13 minutes (which I doubt, keeping in mind the other reviews here 🙂), than serve a drink to people, who are not hungry. We just wanted to spend some time in this place before going further. We are strangers, we don't know local traditions, and we came here to get to know them. And that was the worst way to learn. We have visited Sarzana 4 times before, and these waiters were the rudest ever in Italy. They tried to made us think that this is not the place where the strangers are welcome. We have always thought that Italy is the touristic country, which depends on the tourists. Very disappointing experience😞
