We chose Barolo for our final evening in Seattle and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server Fabricio was absolutely spectacular, attentive without ever rushing us, and genuinely enthusiastic about every detail and checked in often enough to make us feel truly cared for. His service elevated the whole evening and turned it into something unforgettable. It was our first visit to Seattle and we wanted memorable Italian cuisine to close out the trip. Barolo delivered in every way exceptional food, exceptional wine, and service that set a new standard. We’ll be recommending this restaurant to anyone visiting the city and can’t wait to return the next time we’re in town.
Darko J was our server last night and due to his professionalism, my wife and I had an amazing experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, respectful and attentive. The food was amazing, great tastes and flavor combinations. Excellent wine list as well We will be returning!
Located in the heart of downtown Seattle just steps away from the Spheres, Barlolo Ristorante delivers an authentic taste of Italy that leaves a lasting impression. I am no food critic, so I can’t vouch for official authenticity, but I can say this was easily one of the best Italian meals I’ve had. The space feels a bit tight, which is expected in a downtown setting, yet the warm atmosphere makes up for it. Service was attentive and gracious. Our large party had a few mix-ups with the order, but the staff corrected everything promptly without fuss, which speaks volumes about their professionalism. Overall, it’s a place I would gladly return to and highly recommend to friends who enjoy hearty Italian specialties in a lively downtown setting.
It is pricey, but delicious. You know what you're paying for. If you want to get a great taste of food, this is your choice. Bolognese and steaks are amazing, highly recommend their selection of wines. Staff is friendly, place is clean, just visit and you won't regret.
I had the pleasure of traveling from Sinaloa to Seattle, and without a doubt, one of the best decisions I made was visiting this Italian restaurant. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best risotto I've ever had in my life — and honestly, the most delicious and authentic Italian dishes I've ever tasted. I was lucky enough to meet the chef and owner in person, and not only is he originally from Italy, but he’s also one of the coolest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and it shows in every detail — from the beautifully presented dishes, to the incredible wine selection, and the music, which for me is such an important part of any dining experience. Here, the music is perfectly curated — stylish, elegant, and sets the perfect mood. The service was excellent — attentive and professional. Whether you're going out with friends for a special night or having a romantic date, this place is an absolute must. I honestly don’t understand how anyone could leave a negative review — it’s clear when comments come from envy rather than actual experience. If you're ever in Seattle, do yourself a favor and try it. It's one of those places that makes the entire trip worth it.
Great place service & food bartender was great & beautiful go during happy hour most of the menu is half price then and its same portions only 4 stars for atmosphere just because its really dark also it’s open late which is great
Everything was fantastic - we started with the Caesar Salad, continued with the Gnocchi and Rigatoni, and finished with the Tiramisu. The service was wonderful, and it was truly the most beautiful dining room. The dim candlelight dinner was a beautiful ambiance!
We had a wonderful dinner here, Fabrizio’s recommendations on wine and special dishes were gorgeous. With its great food, atmosphere, and proximity to downtown Seattle, I’d recommend this place to everyone
Omg, this place! I’ve been twice to this place in the span of 3 weeks. The 1st time we landed on the bar due to the main room being too busy which I wasn’t super thrilled because it was our anniversary but let me just say the atmosphere was pleasant and despite being the bar area it was cozy. The happy hour was going on at that time and offered a limited but varied selection of main dishes and appetizers. Even the happy hour wine was of a good quality. The food is well made and with care. Good portions and quality ingredients. The second time was for my birthday and I commented to my friends about my previous experience so they decided to treat me to this place that I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, one girl of our a party forgot her license. Respectfully they accommodated us in the main dining area in a semiprivate room and with the happy hour deal. The bartender Fabrizio and the waitress Cristina were amazing. They explained and answered all the questions without hesitation specially because most of my friends couldn’t speak english well enough. I had a blast not only I felt special they treated us with respect and care. At the end of our meal both Fabrizio and Cristina surprised me with a warm Ciocolatto cake with a lighted candle and everything. They just won a customer for life. I can say is not ideal for young children, the ambiance is relaxed but upscale casual with a soft light which makes it more romantic and intimate. The food is authentic Italian flavors like homemade but with a fine gourmet finish. Fresh ingredients and delicate presentation. Off street parking.
What a night, what an experience, what an anniversary! Thank you to our server Alex, she made the Amazing atmosphere and dinner, even that much better! Barolo I located in the heart of downtown Seattle. And as a native of the city, I can say it’s one of the Best Restaurants in Seattle! The ambiance is incredible, the food is great! And, if you want a table for 14, or you just want to hang and have fun at the Super Awesome bar. You will have a perfect experience at this restaurant. If you haven’t give, you should go. If you’re visiting Seattle, make it a plan to go here!! Ask for Alex, she’s the Best!!
$7.50 for a glass of house wine, $7 house martini, and 50% off lounge food in the heart of Seattle — you really can’t beat this happy hour deal!
**Google Review for Barolla, Seattle** ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Barolla in Seattle boasts an elegant interior that sets the perfect mood for dining. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a lovely place to enjoy a meal. The service is great, with friendly staff who are attentive and ensure a pleasant experience. If you love Italian food this is the place! The menu offers a nice variety of options, and their popular happy hours are a fantastic way to sample different dishes and drinks. The bar area is also well-designed, making it a cozy spot to relax. Overall, Barolla is a delightful choice for a night out.
My mom and I were looking for a place close to the Westin Hotel to eat after got back from our cruise that was slightly elevated. Barolo was suggested to us by one of our drivers throughout Seattle wqelier in rhe trip. It did not disappoint. Our apps were amazing as our entrès were. The plating was beautiful. I mean BEAUTIFUL. Our server Niel was very laid back and helpful. He answered all the questions I had as the menu does have menu items in Italian. Great experience and food.
Went for a birthday dinner and it was exceptional! Darko was our server and he was extremely attentive and helpful!! We got the fettuccine di mare and it was very delicious! Be careful squeezing the shrimp out of the shell… those puppies really fly.
Fantastic restaurant! The gnocchi was cooked to perfection. The braised rabbit was outstanding on top. The calamari appetizer was also prepared correctly. I don’t like fried calamari. Great service at the bar too!
My girlfriend and I went here for our first date and we decided to make a trip down memory lane over a year later. It was a great decision. We ordered the clams, sablefish, carbonara, and had a hot chocolate cake dessert. The portion of clams was particularly impressive, it just felt like more and more of them kept appearing and the broth they were served with was delicious and not too salty. The carbonara was also even more delicious than the carbonara I had when I traveled to Italy! There were two things however that I was beyond impressed with: 1. The sablefish - This was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. It was melt-in-your-mouth good and the sauce it came with was delicious. 2. The service - Our server David was attentive and cordial. He provided excellent service and was extremely quick and patient. He even overheard me talking about the gnocchi and asked if I wanted to switch to it before the sablefish got cooked! Needless to say, I’m happy I got the sablefish but am certain the gnocchi would also be delicious. I will not hesitate to come here again. Ladies and gentlemen alike please bring your partner on a date here. The atmosphere and service are impeccable.
Barolo has quickly become one of my go-to spots in the city, especially on Sundays when their happy hour deals feel almost too good to be true. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between upscale and inviting, making it a great place to wind down the weekend. What really stood out was the calamari spaghetti, easily the highlight of the night. Perfectly cooked pasta, tender calamari, and a flavor profile that was both bold and comforting. Every bite was a reminder of how Italian food should taste: simple, high-quality, and deeply satisfying. But what really takes Barolo to another level is the incredible value during happy hour. It’s rare to find this level of quality at such accessible prices.
We made a reservation for 6 people a day before and they sat us at a cute private corner which was very nice. Everything we ordered was pretty good and given that it is a sort of fancy restaurant the prices were ok. Our waiter checked on us several times during dinner and was very patiently telling us more about the dishes. This is for sure not a good place to order vegetarian food. If you don’t like seafood (like me) there are very few options on the menu. Check the menu and their specials before you go in.
Nice Italian dinner place in downtown Seattle. We were here for my mom’s Birthday and it was an awesome experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is incredible and yummy. Must try if you are craving for some italian food in Seattle.
I've been coming here for a few years and this was one of the best (all visits have been wonderful) experience I've had. Nicholas was such a delight, tentative and helpful during our dine in. We were celebrating a birthday and he made sure she felt special! Food was wonderful, as always!!
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle. I have been there at least 10 time during the past year. Strongly recommend spaghetti alla vongoe and the duck breast. Everyone who loves Italian food should know this restaurant!!! Trust me!!!
We have been coming to Barolo since they opened nearly 20 years ago. This is a wonderful spot for a client meal; a happy hour, or a family dinner with amazing food and wine. We have always been treated like family and welcomed in. I bring everyone visiting town here! Antipas, rigatoni, and a canollo. Perfetto!
Every single thing about this restaurant is perfect. The ambiance, the service, the drinks, the FOOD. Wow wow wow!!! What a restaurant! Yay Barolo!
We came here for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing. Super classy vibes and the food was great. Call ahead and make reservations because this place is booked and busy!
We were a large party of 13. The waiter was impeccable. He made several wonderful suggestions. All in our party were sufficiently satisfied. The drinks were wonderful as well. Definitely will have to return here.
I love every aspect of this place: the vibe, the service, the drinks, and most importantly, the great food. Sophia the server made us feel at home and was very attentive. Started off with the grilled romaine with caesar dressing and octopus. Both done just right. For the entree, we had the Chilean sea bass with a delicate mashed potato kind of sauce and also the duck breast with wild mushrooms and roasted figs. We could not tell which one we liked better. Both were perfection. They also served us a special anniversary warm chocolate mousse like thing that topped the night off. This is one of the few must go places in town. And will be back sooner than later
We dined at Barolo on New Year's Eve and it was outstanding. Delicious cuisine, romantic atmosphere and the service was excellent. We ordered a Sashimi special for our starter, the Maine Lobster Risotto, the Spaghetti Alle Vongole and the Tiramisu for dessert. Absolutely delicious! We were impressed and will return! (:
We were visiting Seattle and I love Italian food, so I try this restaurant and I was not disappointed. We order lobster, risotto, seafood pasta, and white pasta with chicken and they were all yummy.
Visited for both dinner and happy hour and Barolo is amazing. Great atmosphere with separate sides for quieter dining and social vibes. Their food is fantastic and the happy hour wine is pretty good too. The staff are super nice. Below are pictures of the shoulder loin steak, grilled cesar salad (my favorite), escargot, and ragitoni.
Our experience was nothing short of incredible. Our server Harry was the highlight of our night. His attention to detail, care for our experience and pride in his service were enough to make us return. Our food arrived and sky rocketed our expectations. Thank you for a memorable 10 year anniversary. - The Schrepfer’s.
Great service, thanks Nick! Food was good but not equally portioned..small gnocchi but a lot with the seafood fettuccine. The wine list is really expensive without a lot in the 50 70 range. But beautiful ambiance and I need 6 orders of the escargot
I had a group of six, for my wife's birthday. We had an excellent experience. They put us in the semi private round table in corner and the service was excellent.
First: the easy stuff. The food was incredible: the rack of lamb was a perfect medium rare, the candied cherry sauce was amazing, and the vegetables were the ideal balance of tender and toothy. But that's not even the good bit. The good bit was the service. Our server, Mecom, was outstanding. Friendly, personable, knew the best parts of the menu, and suggested an excellent wine pairing. Attentive but not overbearing. Everything you expect when you think about phenomenal customer service - but dialed up to 11. Ask for him by name; you'll be glad you did.
We had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant and can’t recommend it enough! The service was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The food was equally impressive. The sablefish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor in the squash puree, while the gnocchi with sausage was out of this world. The menu offers a variety of unique and creative dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. What’s even better is that they have more options than those listed on their online menu, as it changes regularly to keep things exciting. For exceptional food, great service, and a unique dining experience, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back!
This Italian spot is really nice and super convenient with the bar open until midnight. I had the risotto, which had great flavor, but I’m used to a thicker, creamier version—this one was looser, which they explained is more Sicilian style (the shell on top is just the shell, no extra lobster there). My husband had the gnocchi, which was very good. The real highlights were the tiramisu and the chocolate tartino cake—both were absolutely amazing!
A great place for some nice Italian cuisine. We have been there on a busy day, so couldn’t find a table, only bar side seating was available. The atmosphere was nice & mellow. Started off with their complimentary bread, followed by Fettuccine with Yellow corn vodka purée. For desserts, ordered a Tiramisu. Everything tasted great. The pasta was very different from your traditional sauces. Definitely recommend.
Good experience, delicious food. Recommend trying at least once. We directly ordered the main course. We ordered the duck, lamb for main course. Both were cooked perfectly and presentation was beautiful. We really liked how cauliflower, spinach and meat were separated on the plate, so that the sauces don’t mix. Their bread was really soft and delicious. For cocktails, limited menu, nothing extravagant. For desserts, we ordered a hot cake(don’t remember it’s exact name) and a Cannoli. Both looked great and were delicious. I would say that the dessert menu is very basic and does not have a lot options to choose from. The service was a little slow, even though they weren’t that busy. It could be because they are short staffed, not sure. Street parking is available but it’s a busy area. So, plan accordingly.
Fit us in (5) on a Sat night without a res. Tried a lot of dishes, that was the way to do it. Carbonara was my fave, a 5!
The positives: The restaurant boasted a delightful ambiance and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The negatives: While the food received mixed reviews, it fell within an average range considering its price. Unfortunately, the calamari ordered by my friends turned out to be rubbery in texture. The coffee, far from resembling an authentic Italian brew, disappointed with its taste akin to generic American coffee. Moreover, my lamb dish suffered from being excessively charred, leaving an unpleasant charcoal residue that affected both its flavor and texture. However, it was accompanied by a delectable Amarillo cherries sauce. The kale served alongside the lamb dish, unfortunately, had a notably bitter taste. On a positive note, the cheese board was enjoyable, and the veal carpaccio was quite good, although the overwhelming amount of olive oil overshadowed the flavor of the meat. Another main course, a sirloin cut, featured pleasant meat, particularly when combined with the amarena cherries from the lamb dish. To our surprise, an unexplained additional surcharge was added to the bill, and a 20% automatic gratuity was applied for our group of six, although we were unsure if this should be considered a large party. Despite these drawbacks, I must reiterate that the ambiance was truly delightful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant. The final bill, for two mains, two starters and two coffees, was around $180.
Barolo was a nice Italian fine-dine restaurant. We ordered the eggplant pesto risotto The pesto risotto was really creamy and rich. The eggplant was cooked well too with a nice crunchy layer on top that added to the texture of the whole dish Dessert was tiramisu. It was really light and flavourful
My girlfriend and I wanted to eat a dinner some place after worked at downtown Seattle. We chosen Barolo and called reservation at 6:30 pm. Barolo is a trendy restaurant and it fills up in no time. I love decorations, chandelier and sophisticated mood. We ordered Spaghetti Alle Vongole: Spaghetti with local clams, evoo, garlic, white wine and Spaghetti Alla Carbonara: Pork belly, cage free eggs, zucchini. Added Cesare Conalle Pesce: Ahi tuna filet with grilled caesar salad. Served complimentary bread and dipping oil. We shared foods and enjoyed conversation. I liked more Spaghetti Alle Vongole. Clams were tender and thick. Spaghetti Alla Carbonara was a little oily. Grilled caesar salad was a good taste. A served lady was a great personality and kind. We'll be back soon.
This is a limited review of the restaurant during restaurant week. We enjoyed their options on the limited menu and thought the price was very reasonable for what they served. We really enjoyed the snapper and squid ink spaghetti that was served. We also tried a pasta dish from the regular menu that was homemade and very delicious.
This is fancy date type place located in Seattle. The fine dining experience and ambience is completely different. Menu vastly varies from Authentic Italian delicacies to vintage wines. They have very limited options available for vegetarians as they tend to not alter their recipes to make it “no meat” version. Drinks are very good and refreshing. Food is good here. I wouldn’t say that it was the best pasta but decent enough. If anyone is looking for Date Spots then I would suggest to check out Barolo Ristorante.
I really don’t understand the hype around Barolo. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in Seattle that offer similar—if not better—experiences at more reasonable prices. The service and atmosphere were fine, but the food was underwhelming across the board. The calamari starter was okay, but the tomato sauce was so overpowering it masked any real flavor. I ordered a pasta dish with meat, but oddly enough, it didn’t come with any pasta—just a dry, overcooked piece of meat (despite requesting medium). The portions were surprisingly small, especially considering the prices. Dessert was also disappointing. The tiramisu didn’t resemble a traditional Italian version—it lacked ladyfingers and felt more like an Americanized interpretation. Even the espresso martini needed correcting because they included Baileys instead of sticking to the classic recipe. On top of all that, they automatically add a 20% service charge plus a 3.5% additional fee. You’re essentially locked into tipping 25% whether you like it or not, and that’s not something I’m okay with—especially when the food doesn’t justify it. Bottom line: for the price, you can have a much better Italian dining experience elsewhere in Seattle. This was a one-time visit for me, and I won’t be returning
The food here was fantastic, I think the tomato caprese was one of the best I've ever had, the tomatoes were so ripe and juicy and the pesto sauce was perfect. I also really enjoyed the octopus, it had a smoked flavor and was not chewy at all. The Gnocchi were delicious and the chili clam pasta was nice the clams tasted very fresh. My main complaint would have to be our interactions with the server, Neil, were really strange. He came up to our table and sort of stood there awkwardly, then asked if we were ready to order. He took my friends bread plate away with out asking if she still needed it (and then left mine) then after we'd finished our starters he reset her place with new silverware and not mine. Then after we finished our mains when dessert came around he set the dessert menu on our table without asking if we wanted dessert. There were other thing that were just off about our interactions that werent there with the other staff. He didn't really seem to want to engage in regular server to customer dialouge, I can only guess maybe we were being snubbed because we were dressed in casual clothes having just driven 3 hours or because my friend and I are plus size. All the other staff we interacted with were amazing and attentive.
Honestly I'm disappointed. The best part about my visit was the drink naked and fabulous. We ordered the octopus for starters which lacked a bit of flavor and came Luke warm and the mash that was with it was cold. Second for my entree, I ordered the lamb which itself was amazing along with the creamy cauliflower, but the kale that I received smelled like spoiled milk. Literally. I Had to send it back. Then in the midst of our server Rick (I think his name was) coming back to inquire about a replacement dish and sides, he steps on my partners foot the whole time and not once acknowledged that he was trying to tug his foot away in pain nor did the server apologize. Although my dish was replaced and I was satisfied. The experience was embarrassing. Safe to say we had higher expectations and were not coming back.
Surprised by all the 5 star reviews, service was fantastic, atmosphere great but the food…eh. The calamari was average the breadcrumbs were a nice touch but no seasoning, the bass was good, the seafood fettuccine was ok, way to much parsley tho tasted like a parsley salad. It’s a good and bad thing that the best tasting item was the desert which was vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso on top. Service/atmosphere 9/10. Food 6/10 which isn’t acceptable considering how much they are charging but I’m clearly in the minority
Pretentious place with very mediocre food. The complimentary focaccia with olive paste is ok. We tried the antipasto misto, a mix of appetizers, all of which tasted supermarket quality. The lobster risotto was pretty bad; the rice was falling apart and the dish was soupy instead of creamy, nothing like an actual risotto. The gnocchi were also very questionable, they felt made out of paste. The "naked and fabulous" drink looked like a poorly-made smoothie, and neither the taste nor the texture were appealing. The ambience is quite pretentious. We had to request a table change cause ours was very wobbly (of course, after we sat elsewhere, they set it up again for someone else to dine at it...). Everything goes for a chic look but is actually cheap, like the plasticky chairs. The service was substandard. Taking our orders took too long, much like bringing out the main courses, and basic things like properly wiping the table were overlooked. Moreover, our server was not friendly at all. To top it all off, there's a 3.5% surcharge (which is very discretely called out on the menu) for absolutely nothing. At $156.48 for two people, this was a very disappointing experience.
Me and my girlfriend were here for a happy hours dinner. However we were charged a full price which was about $140 without tips because to get a happy hours discount you must seat on the left hand side of the front door, which is wierd and we weren't told of. We were seated on the right side by a host
There's a blonde bartender that ruined my birthday last night. I walked in, sat at the bar so I could order my birthday dinner and a cocktail. I told her I hit my vape outside because my back has been killing me, and it may take me a little bit to decide. She immediately refused drink service because she said I was "intoxicated". She was VERY rude about it, so I didn't even order dinner. It's a shame because I always tip 100% on my birthday. Her loss.
