Great spot! The croquettes (first photo), were really good. The chicken we both got spicy, miss’s wasn’t super hungry so she just got a slider. The spicy chicken tendies and fries were great though. The star was the homemade BBQ sauce. Sounds dumb. But was really really good. They make their desserts in house too, so I will be 100% coming back and trying those.

Great food and vibes at this Beacon Hill spot. Chicken pot pie is homemade deliciousness and burger and fries were also top notch! Great selection of local beers too. Service was excellent 👌

Great vegan place (think they have meat options as well). Great house made jam and okay hotsauces. Food here is delicious and like their no egg options.

The food was very good. A great place to get brunch. Highly recommend getting the breakfast plate!

Warm, friendly staff with full vegan menus. The Acorn Benny was amazing with a vegan poached style egg featuring a runny yolk smothered in a fresh, lemony hollandaise sauce. The side of fried pickles are a MUST! Loved the outdoor seating and laid back atmosphere.

BEST BURGER 2025…. No lie hands down this burger was so delicious and fries as well. It hit the spot. Would definitely go back just for the burger. They have a lot of vegan options not my taste but the only burger on the menu is a BURGER BURGER!!… service was awesome and place is nice and clean and well kept and thjs is all I gotta say THEY DELIVERED ON IT….

Food was especially fresh and tasty. The fried pickles were spot on and their CBGB sauce is worth the trip alone. The tofu chimichurri sandwich was also very tasty and prepared to perfection.

It's my new favorite restaurant. I love that they have a big vegan menu and it's always changing. My husband and I have been there at least 7 times in the last 3 months and they had something different in the menu every time. The drink menu is also huge and really good. The service is 5-stars, no kidding. Staff is friendly, welcome and the kitchen is fast. If you go there, try to save space for the bourbon apple crumble. It's delicious!

My brother found this place through reviews and wanted a place to go with vegans and non vegans. So many tasty options including specials. On the tables they have all the condiments. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area. Don't forget about the cocktails. They also make a delicious in house sauce. Recommend for tasty foods!

Posting as a vegetarian - a ton of vegan and veggie options to choose from, along with meat dishes as well. Make sure to make a reservation to avoid waiting. The place was packed on a Friday night at 6:30pm (I called at 4:30 the same day to make a reservation and they still had availability). We ordered the house salad, vegan pot pie, vegan phish witch, and side of mashed potatoes (vegan gravy). Would come back and try other things!

May just be the best Vegan meal in town, honestly. Food is incredible and made with care. Vegan Chimichurri Tofu Sandwich is phenomenal. Everyone was so impressive as far as the staff. Such an inviting and incredible place. Looks like we found our new date night spot!

Oak: American food, much of it comfort food, with extensive options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivorous butchers alike. After being assured that it actually tasted nothing like fish, I got the vegan fish sandwich since it was the closest thing to a chicken sandwich on the menu; and, our server was right—it tasted nothing like fish and was absolutely delicious. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich—the biggest I’ve ever seen. Almost made me wish I ate meat. My older child went for the “Last Unicorn”, a fried tofu sandwich with coleslaw on top, which he raved about. My younger child went for the (vegetarian) penne with cheese sauce, and between that and the vegan chicken fingers, French fries, and fried corn, he ate more than I’ve seen him eat at a meal in a very long time. And then there were the other delicious dishes we tried: fried Brussels sprouts, vegan kale fried chicken Caesar salad, vegan fried pickles (rockin’ dipping sauce with these), lentil soup, and the house-made Hostess ding dong-inspired cupcake, which brought the house down. And this was all topped off by some of the best and friendliest service I’ve had at a restaurant anywhere in the world in the past few years. Our first visit was a smashing success and surely will not be our last!

This place is secretly an amazing vegan restaurant- they have a full menu of everything with ethically sourced meat OR fully vegan. The brunch was amazing so we came back for dinner a couple days later. The drinks are really interesting and delicious too.

The oak is a great place for dinner and drinks. I noticed a lot of vegan options. I got the brussel sprouts for an appetizer which were delicious. I also have a blackberry cocktail that i enjoyed very much while sitting outside in the sun. If you just want a shot of whiskey and a lager, i believe they call it an oldie and Crow. Overall, a very good experience, especially sitting outside on a sunny day!

This is a great place in the neighborhood- open much later than the majority of Seattle restaurants, has a chill vibe, and even hosts weekly chess nights and the like. The portions are substantial- one companion said it was too much food which isn't usually a complaint for the average person, but realize that you must pay for your fries/sides on sandwiches and burgers! $16.5 for a chicken sandwich alone, and $5 for sweet potato fries. I didn't catch that so I was surprised. I like the laid back vibe here, and they have outdoor seating as well. I think the menu selection is good and the food is satisfying.

Oak is amazing!! The drinks are strong, there is so much vegan food to eat AND desserts! They were very busy on the Saturday night that we went and the staff was working hard to serve everyone, and they were all very friendly. We will definitely be back!!

the Herky’s Fried Chicken Sandwich-spicy style- blew my bangs back! huge chicken cutlets perfectly crispy and juicy, flavorful sauce, great bun, right amount of pickle chips, spicy sting stays with you a while. It’s a hit folks

My new favorite restaurant for vegan food in Seattle! The perfect place to go with friends who aren’t vegan where everyone can enjoy what they like. Get the vegan fried pickles!🔥 w CBGB sauce that’s like a creamy BBQ 🤤 Vegan Phish Witch was soo soo delicious! Casamigos Reposado w their scratch turmeric ginger pineapple soda was the best drink! I see they have an organic tequila on the menu I may have to try next time! I can’t wait to experience all the other vegan food on the menu like the chicken tenders and jackfruit slider! Servers were super friendly and sweet! 💖🌈 Very cozy inside and patio tables outside! 🌞 Half our food was a little cold as if they waited for the other plates to be ready at the same time so that was the only thing they fell short on. I still devoured my food. 🤷‍♀️ Just don’t overeat since it’s so damn good. 😅

I can't recommend the vegan field burger (dry and unremarkable) or the desserts (blah) here but otherwise top notch service, atmosphere, and fresh ingredients. Lots of options if you don't eat red meat and incredible specials. I feel like whatever the special is always ends up being my favorite. The lentil loaf was super good and I always recommend the fried pickles and fried corn ball things. Brunch is awesome, also.

Visited this place twice in a weeks time, and i had some wonderful burgers 🍔, small plates, and drinks. I tried their Cauliflower tempura, Sweet Creamed Corn Nuggets, Curried Chickpeas, Brussel Sprout Small Plate Field burger, and Vegan Chimichurri "Chicken" Sandwich. Except Cauliflower and corn nuggets, everything else was very delicious. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for some vegan burgers around Beacon Hill Neighborhood in Seattle.

Had amazing vegan poutine and the service was great too the whipped coffee was great but not enough milk so we asked for more and got more which was nice

I liked the vegan burger (added real cheese, the vegetarian classic)! The pickle fries were good too. There’s good vegetarian comfort food options for sure.

My wife, a couple friends and I are visiting from out of town and we figured we'd try this place. Wow. The service was great, the food literally perfect. Everything was amazing. I ordered the chicken strips and fries, which sounds so mediocre, but but here! They basically gave me an entire chicken that was cooked to perfection, dense and so juicy. Our waitress was Shellen, and she was great. Prompt and funny, always timing her stops at the table perfectly. My entire party agreed that it was some of the best food we'd ever had. I would gladly travel back across international borders to eat here!! The cookie for dessert was the size of my wife's face.

The chicken and waffles were amazing, and I can't wait to have more. The drinks were also delicious. The sausage biscuits and gravy were not very flavorful. The vegan options look good as well, but I have not tried and of the vegan brunch items yet. The service was also great! Update: everything else has been amazing so changed from 4 stars to 5

This was a great experience - our server was super friendly, the health and safety efforts they've instituted feel really effective, and the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the whipped coffee, and the biscuit in my biscuits and gravy was perfect - just the right bit of crisp and flaky. So good!

Amazing food, chill atmosphere, friendly staff. Love the seamless mobile ordering/payment system -- really wish more places offered that. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which was heavenly. But have no fear, they have a pretty extensive selection of vegan meals / appetizers. Pretty much any dish on their menu that contains meat has a meat-free alternative.

I loved this place! It's open late and they have happy hours from 10 to 11 pm! But my favorite part is the food. Not only do they have plenty of vegan options but each one is delicious and you can't even tell it's vegan. Chao cheese is the 💣 😆 We tried the vegan bacon cheeseburger and the vegan chimichurri sandwich. Both were delicious but the chicken sandwich was the winner! Must try if you want to give meat-free dining a shot.

Great menu, perfect for a mixed marriage. My wife's a vegetarian, and I'm not. The menu has plenty of good choices for both of us. The food was delicious and the service was great 😃

My husband and I just moved out of the country but while we were here this was our favorite burger spot for years. Great food, great service, and they have quiet seating areas if that’s useful. Indoor and outdoor dining too. We will miss this place.

If you only order one thing here, make it the Minimum Wage Burger. Balanced, not greasy, and quietly confident. The name alone captures the irony of eating in Seattle right now. This is how I remember this place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Grounded Neighborhood Gem Oak lives up to its name — warm, wood-toned, and grounded in comfort. The space flows through three unique zones: a lively front bar with dining, a lounge, and a cozy back bar (our pick for the night). The vibe isn’t my typical scene, but you can instantly feel the local love. The pumpkin bisque was rich, velvety, and soul-warming on a cold Seattle day 🌧️. I appreciated seeing vegetarian options on the menu. Service was friendly and efficient — though I always enjoy a bit more interaction. Accessibility is thoughtful (wheelchair-accessible restroom), though note the 3–4 stairs to the back bar. Not a kid-friendly spot — this one’s for the grown-up unwinders. 🍸 My Manhattan was balanced and satisfying. Overall, Oak feels like that spot you revisit with friends for easy conversation, comfort food, and a cozy pour. ✨ #SeattleEats #SewardParkEats #SeattleBars #NeighborhoodGem #PumpkinBisque #SeattleFoodies #SeattleWineAndDine #SeattleComfortFood #LocalLove

Chimichurri grilled chicken sandwich was very tender and tasty. Could have eased up on the cheese though but it is difficult to have too much cheese

Great service, awesome vegan options. I'll mention that it seemed like the kitchen was winding down. The center of my friend's pot pie(picture 4) was room temperature, but the breading was wonderful. My soup(picture 1) was luke warm (I enjoyed the taste though). Their pot pie would be a step up if they used all fresh ingredients, but I imagine they're trying to capture the original home pot pie vibe. The "Oat House Salad" made vegan was perfect. The vegan pickle spears(picture 2) were a bit heavy on the breading. Perhaps, a thicker pickle would do well? I enjoyed the sauce that came with them. My friend said that the beet salad(picture 3) was tasty, one of the better ones he's had. They house make their vegan feta! We will be back, during a better time and a desire to leave a better review. The staff was excellent and incredibly welcoming. Made a return visit, had the pretzel pillows, vegan pickle spears, and 'vegan beets by oak' sandwich. My friend had the chimichuri chicken sandwich. The pretzel pillows were light and fluffy, and the pickle spears were better this time around. I enjoyed my beet sandwich, and my friend enjoyed his as well. It took a fairly long time to get our drinks, but that's okay. Will be back again!

LOVE that they have so many vegetarian and vegan options, and they're good CREATIVE options - not just salads and veggies. Definitely a fun place, kitschy decor / vibe but upscale food. The pretzel pillows were GREAT really fluffy but still pretzel-like, also the chickpea appetizer was awesome. Was excited about the jackfruit sliders, the flavors were great but they were quite wet. Made the bun totally soggy, had to discard the bottom bun and just eat it as an open-face sandwich.

We're back with another look at a local establishment just up in the Beacon Hill area. The Oak is a nice stylish place kind of tucked between 2 other establishments. Parking can be difficult because it's on the street, but there are a few other places to park if you're ok with a short stroll. Once inside, it was like being in a ski cabin, all warm and inviting. We were seated fairly quickly, and our orders were delivered almost just as fast. The burger was delicious, but the pot pie was amazing. The dessert wasn't exactly what I wanted. Cupcakes for dessert are not something that screams originality, but you have to go with what you got. I'd surely return if not just for the Herky's fried chicken sandwich. So stop in and see what the Oak offers for those looking for a great local establishment.

Came in on a Wednesday night. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL everyone was super helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was pretty loud. The food was tasty. There are alot of vegetarian and vegan options here if that's your thing. One thing I will say is the portion sizes are quite small for the price but I get it the economy isn't great right now. The food came out really fast. We ordered, fried mushrooms (temporary special), Vegan pot pies, a cookie, and a glass of milk. I recommend this place if your a vegan with non vegan friends everyone will like something here!

We came here for brunch on a weekday, which gave us access to a lot of interesting items. Firstly, I have to say this place has a ton of vegan/vegetarian options. When looking for American/brunch foods, it’s rare that you see a place where you can easily bring a group with a vegan member and have them be able to pick between several different menu options & not feel limited. Nice job there I decided to get the Brekkie Poutine, which consisted of fries topped with cheese curds & mushroom gravy, and a sunny side up egg. This was my first time trying poutine. I was disappointed that they ran out of sausage gravy (what was advertised on the menu), which left the only option as the mushroom gravy. It was still decent enough, because I like mushrooms, but I do think that the sausage gravy would’ve tasted a lot better The fries were pretty good - there were a lot of them. They weren’t anything special, as the inside didn’t really seem that soft, but the important part was that they didn’t get super soggy on the outside and retained some crispiness, which was good The cheese curds were excellent - this is the first time I’d had the non-fried variety - but I don’t feel like there was enough on this dish. It covered some parts, especially on the right side, but on the left there were massive gaps where the cheese was missing. I would’ve loved the meal a lot more if it was more of this cheese The sunny side egg on top was cooked basically perfectly, and the yolk dripping through added a great & unique flavor to the overall gravy mix. For the price of around $17, this isn’t bad - it’s a good amount of food, but not particularly filling Overall, I did enjoy the food, but it could’ve been improved, and I feel like there’s a lot better poutine out there that I haven’t tried yet. 7.5/10

Call me old school but if I order an $8 rosemary lemon soda , I'd expect it to be presented a little better. It looks like it was dispensed from a fountain machine and filled up with ice. The food was good , nothing great. I really wanted to like this place and was hoping this would be my go-to spot for vegan food. Rooting for their success. They have good food , and need to work on their presentation and service.

Went here with some friends. Great vegan options for our vegan buddy. Lots of nice cocktails. Food was perfectly fine but not the best Ive had. Totally acceptable burgers and sides. Penne and cheese was pretty good! A nice twist on mac & cheese. All ordering is through an app even for dine-in which was pretty cool.

Had a fantastic late night salad & fried chicken dinner. Also a really good (and unexpected) tiki drink. Service was friendly and attentive. It's a bar with food though, so despite the high quality it can be noisy, people bumped into me while I ate, etc. Recommend you get a table instead of eating at the bar counter, although it is more social that way.

I
Ivy Thompson

Food was wonderful! Not to be fussy but I’m allergic to their jam and asked them not to put it on my plate and it came anyway. I think “please don’t put an allergen on my plate” should be taken a little more seriously. But great atmosphere and the food was good, but not the place for you if you have severe allergies! Mine isn’t too terrible so it turned out okay but I was a little hrmph 😕 about it.

K
Kay

Overall, an underwhelming experience. Mini burger was pretty good but really messy for a slider, the mac n cheese had a weird flavor that I couldn’t pin down but it wasn’t enjoyable, carrot soup was tasty, and brussel sprouts were flavorful and crispy. Service was pretty slow even though there were only 3 tables.

As a local of six years, I have loved coming to Oak as a neighborhood bar. The bar area is solid and it feels very homey. The staff is also quite friendly. The draft beer is always chilled nicely and they have a nice draft selection. The food is also usually quite good as well, albeit the prices have continually gone up. Happy hour….if they could maybe fine tune the expectations of this, that would be appreciated. The happy hour menu offers a “draft red/white wine” for $10. So we ordered the house white assuming that it was that. It sadly wasn’t and we were charged full price for the standard glass pour, without divulgence that the draft pour was 86’d. Not cool. It created an awkward situation where my friend had to ask for a breakdown copy of the receipt and saw the glass pour wasn’t the (assumed) happy hour price, without any communication about the price delta. The server who checked us out, was not the initial server who took care of us, which could’ve been a problem of the communication, but it really created an environment that we didn’t want to deal with. I would encourage the restaurant to be a little more transparent about pricing. The bar tab was quite a bit higher than anticipated. Also, nobody really enjoys draft wine. Just please source a decent quality bottled white and red, priced at a rate comparable to the neighborhood, to offer to patrons and don’t make this so complex. Happy hour should not be difficult to execute. It should be simple and easy for folks to enjoy themselves for a few drinks and not challenge the tab paid. Happy to update this review once this is addressed. JR

Wanted a casual fairly quick dinner and had been wanting to try this spot and was left a little disappointed and underwhelmed. The bacon burger was pretty good and would have yielded a 5 star review if it hadn’t been for the generic frozen fries. The chimichuri sauce on the chicken sandwich and chickpeas is dry and lacking flavor. All in all mediocre food paired with just fine service. Trivia players seemed to be enjoying themselves maybe we should have tried something vegan as that seems to be popular here.

A
Amy Hart

Our server was nice but extremely slow. They spoke to the table beside us and apologized for the wait, and that table arrived well after us and got their food way before us! Over an hour just waiting on food, running out of water, and wondering why no one was communicating with us about why the food was so slow.

K
Kirsten

Bacon burger and the chicken chimichuri sandwich were soggy and bland. The food is overpriced for the quality, even for Seattle prices. The restaurant was fairly busy, so I'd like to give them a pass on the poor service. Presumably the service can't be this poor all the time.

D
Danielle Long

With so many other incredible brunch spots I would not recommend going to Oak. They “didn’t have my reservation”, but turns out they sat another party and said it was me - it wasn’t. Took over 20 minutes after being seated for someone to pour water and offer coffee. Once the drinks came, there was a fruit fly in one and the server scooped it out instead of bringing a new drink. The service continued to be slow even though it was not busy. The vegan menu is all processed food - think Just Egg and frozen chicken strips. Maybe the dinner menu and night vibe is better but I wouldn’t recommend for brunch!

B
Billy Edwards

Some of the nastiest food I have had. No seasoning and the squash soup was like baby food or puréed squash 🤢. Was starving so added salt and forced it down but I would never want to go back to that restaurant. Penne & cheese pasta was super bland. I normally save leftovers but threw it all away!

H
Haley Yoder

I have never left a review before but I will for this place. We were there for just under two hours, 95 minutes of which were waiting for the food. I do want it known that this restaurant was not busy by any means and maybe that should have been an inclination of what to expect. We ordered an appetizer (literally just fries) and that took 20 minutes itself. People that arrived after we had finished our app had ordered, received, and eaten their meals before we received ours, one of their meals was also what someone in our party ordered. When we did finally get our food every single plate was over cooked and grease soaked. We spent 5 minutes picking at our meals and got the check. Paying $98 to sit and listen to the loudest group of people I have experienced in an uncomfortable chair with water we kept running out of and not getting refilled was beyond frustrating. I do not recommend and would never return. A complete waste of time and money.

D
D D

First time I had it vegan rebellious chicken tenders amazing. This is my second time. I ordered tenders again and they gave nuggets and failed to change the tenders to nuggets online. So to my surprise I received nuggets and on top of that nasty burnt nuggets. Waste of time and money. Do better honestly. Not cool.
