I was there today with my family, 2 children and 2 adults, and I can only say very positive things: excellent food, excellent service, impeccable hygiene and cleanliness, and the restaurant manager is a great speaker and equally welcoming and ready to make guests feel at ease, catering to all our needs and tastes. We left satisfied in every way. We'll be back soon, and above all, as they say in Milan, "Cinq ghej de pu', ma ross." Thank you for your warm welcome and helpfulness. Silvia from Varese

Pizzeria AL POZZO in Sammaria is located on Level 1 of the hospital. The restaurant is spread over one floor, offering a quiet atmosphere and professional, helpful staff. The pizzas are excellent, with thin, flaky crusts and high-quality ingredients.

Excellent café inside San Raffaele, in my opinion the best. Perfect for breakfast or a break. Wide selection of pastries, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, and pizzas, and fair prices (other cafés in the hospital don't have them on display, and you get a little surprise at the end). I've never tried the restaurant.

My favorite bar every time I go to the hospital. They make great coffee and the pizzas are super good too.

Congratulations to Tommaso for making me the best coffee in Milan and the surrounding area. Congratulations, Tommaso. My congratulations to all the staff for their management and professional service. If I were the owner, I would be very proud of the staff. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE

Nice restaurant and pizzeria. If you are student in unisr, they offer also a bit discount for the pizza.

An excellent restaurant located inside the San Raffaele Hospital. Everything is delicious, especially the pizza. It's clear they always use high-quality ingredients. Stop by if you're hungry and in the area!

Expensive but makes sense considering the location

The pastries and coffee are very good. The bar staff is very friendly. The same can't be said for the man at the cash register and the woman who heats up the sandwiches. They're very arrogant and unkind. And it's a good thing we're in a hospital where people certainly don't come for a walk or a carefree day of shopping...

Three stars because: I eat at this restaurant when I go to the San Raffaele Hospital. Normally, I've always had a good experience. Fast and friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. During this Covid-19 crisis, I found the restaurant, which has no windows, to be overcrowded, with too many tables (as in normal times), and no one checks your Green Pass. Even though I asked for it... Given that it's inside a hospital, I expected something different.

A hospital employee recommended this pizzeria to me, so I went in with a grain of salt. In reality, the pizza, and the overall experience, were very disappointing. It looks good in the photos, but the dough is too hard and dry. Despite being very hungry and my passion for pizza (on par with a Ninja Turtle), I didn't enjoy it at all. Unfortunately, I have to add that the beer seemed decidedly watered down. I'm biased because years ago (not at this pizzeria) I witnessed the waiter fill the glass with three inches of water before pouring. He did it nonchalantly because he didn't notice I was standing near the counter waiting for my takeout pizza. Back to the well: I paid €15 in total, without coffee, for €2 of decidedly unpleasant but fast service. The only thing I appreciated was the speed (there were not many people). What can I say: if you're there, unfortunately, you have other problems and few alternatives to feed yourself, but be prepared for an expensively mediocre experience.

I was at the San Raffaele to book an appointment and took the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant/pizzeria inside. NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE! 1 miserable slice of beef with 4 mushrooms (rare but tough), 1 small side dish, and 1 Coke, a whopping €35, incredibly expensive. The food, atmosphere, and service aren't even worth half of what I paid. Frankly, it was a terrible experience. I definitely won't be returning, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT to anyone.

I went to Pozzo di Samaria during an eye exam at San Raffaele, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I ordered a Milanese cutlet, which was very thin and completely covered in stale breading, so much so that I couldn't even taste the meat. With a small side salad, half a bottle of water, and a coffee, the bill came to a whopping €31. Overpriced for the quality and quantity. It ruined my day and my digestion was terrible. It's a shame, because the service and atmosphere weren't bad, but the food was truly subpar.

I spent a month at San Raffaele to be with my father in his final days. Consequently, I spent several weeks at this bar/restaurant, primarily to get food and drinks to cheer my dad up during his most difficult days. I believe it's right to expect courtesy and respect from a bar/restaurant operating within a hospital, and that the people who work there are always mindful of the place they operate in and the feelings of those who frequent it. I'm sorry to write that this place takes all these factors completely out of consideration. Indeed, it's a place that—through its attitudes and methods—makes the already unpleasant experience of living in a hospital even more terrible. The complete lack of empathy from the management and nearly all the staff (with the exception of a few young women at the cafes and a few waitresses), the exorbitant prices (a 33cl beer for €5), and the arrogant, know-it-all, cynical, and presumptuous attitude of nearly everyone at the tills (both at the bar and the restaurant) lead me to write that this place is one of the most unpleasant and unfair places you could ever find yourself in. A place that—like few others in the world—takes advantage of its location, profiting from it and mistreating its customers. There's a name for the high prices: it's called speculation. And it's a truly awful thing in general, let alone in a hospital! And there's a remedy: it's called holding one's conscience and controlling prices. As for the lack of empathy, however, there's a lot that can be done: it's called humanity, something that has been lost, forgotten in this place. And I don't think there's anything you can do when people lose it, except stay as far away as possible. I conclude by saying that losing a father is a very bad thing. So imagine how terrible my experience in this place must have been if, after what my family and I have been through, I find myself writing these lines, which I hope will save others from the terrible experiences we have had. Good luck to everyone!

Respect for the individual, especially if it's a customer, is of primary importance for this type of business, in addition to service hygiene, decorum, etc., especially in a hospital setting like the "San Raffaele." Having said that, as a regular customer, I've encountered several instances of rudeness from the girl handing out croissants, even hearing her yell at the cashier. She's perpetually sulky, never a smile, and woe betide anyone who makes the mistake of asking for a pastry croissant if they paid for a frozen one (because a misunderstanding at the cashier could possibly happen), and she'll send you back with unparalleled rudeness! The bartender even insults the customer because he was annoyed by the poor service he was giving them. I think these incidents are quite inconceivable for a bar/restaurant in that context.
