Went here for dinner with the family. The frozen mango margarita was awesome. The atmosphere was great and the weather was nice. The food overall from all family members was great.

If you haven’t tried the Pillbox Tavern yet, do yourself a favor and get down there ASAP! The food is delicious, service is great and you can eat and drink outside or in. Fun place to catch a game too. Last time here we had the shrimp al mezcal and the chicken marsala, both scrumptious! I usually get the pulled pork sandwich but super happy to try something new.

The service provided by Barry and Marcus was truly exceptional. They worked together seamlessly, like a well-oiled machine. Even the food runner went above and beyond, offering helpful and knowledgeable assistance. They took incredible care of us and our furry companion, and we are immensely grateful for their efforts. As individuals working in the industry, we understand the value of good service, and their exceptional service meant a great deal to us. Thank you for going above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of amazing. The pillbox plate is delicious along with the birra plate. The chef truly “put his foot” in that steak appetizer, definitely my favorite, thank you!

Had dinner and a drink at pillbox with a friend Sunday before a belly up show. had the steak tips, chicken egg rolls and lemon pepper and dry rub wings. They were all excellent. They have a good whiskey selection as well. Bartender recommended the baller whiskey from St. George spirits (Alameda) and it was an excellent choice. Very smooth and very nice pour.

A local favorite for their burgers and brews. They have indoor and outdoor seating but can fill up quickly during happy hour and on game days. TVs are tuned to local sports channels typically, and the service is fast & friendly. The food is delicious! I've tried the tacos, the BBQ sandwich, the burgers, fish and chips, and more! My partner is a big fan of their steak tips (although he pretty much only ever orders it as an entree). I've been there over a dozen times, and their gastro-pub style menu never disappoints! Tap beers rotate, so trying something new from their beer list is what I end up doing every time. This time, I tried their "Noonish" cocktail, which UNLIKE other drinks featuring habanero, ACTUALLY has a kick to it. Will definitely be back again.

It's a beautiful place it's close to the beach, and they have a good service counting with TV football games

Great place to hang out with friends 🧡 We've been coming to Pillbox for several years and the staff is always so kind to us and generous. We've had regular hangouts as well as birthday celebrations here. Drinks are poured well, food selections are good, and it's an overall fun experience.

While spending the day on the beach, we had Pillbox recommended to us, so we ordered it to go. It was Saturday during Labor Day weekend, but we were able to call and place an order without any issues. The wait time for our food wasn't very long either! Was very impressed. We tried the All Day Burrito and Blackened Chicken Club. Both were massive portions! They were equally as delicious! I ordered the tots with my Club sandwich and liked those too. However, the sandwich stole the show. Would definitely order that again! Cannot recommend enough. If you're in the area, you gotta give this place a shot. Delicious food with huge portions. Great service all around as well from the staff, especially during a busy holiday weekend. You won't be disappointed!

Friendly, well run bar and restaurant with wall to wall tvs for watching your favorite teams. Food was delicious, service was prompt and friendly and there was a good range of beers to suit every taste.

Was new to the area, wanted to check out a local spot. This place did not disappoint. Great staff, great food, good times. Would definitely recommend. I will be coming back for their epic wings.

We flew in on Monday, unpacked and needed food....this locale does not disappoint! Service was welcoming and very chill. Pillbox Plate was a bit of a few things- salad, pasta salad, BBQ chicken and fluffy rice. Tots are awesome. We had a few margaritas and local IPAs. Highly recommended!

Finally made it here after passing by so many times with intentions to make it in one day. Limited but solid draft list, mostly local brews. Great pub food menu with some unique house options. Decided to finally stop by after a bad service experience at Pizza Port. Not the first time so may be giving up on my regular spot and making this a part of the SB rotation.

Looks like the type of place that has been in business for decades. Booth seating inside and a nice large dog friendly patio. The food was good. The hummus plate was ok, not great but it was eatable. The chicken wings were good. The regular buffalo was way better that the Siracha ones. Birria tacos were good. It was a comfortable place. I would return.

Honestly, out of the four places we visited this was the best stop. I enjoyed their hefeweizen. We also got the happy hour Gringo tacos and they were ok. The shell was a little stale but the salsa made up for it because it was just right on the spice level and tasted freshly made.

The best wings I’ve ever had! My husband and I went for dinner on Monday, 5.31.21 (Grayson was our waiter and he was great!) and had the Thai peanut wings and mango habanero wings. Both were so good, but the Thai peanut was the best wing I’ve ever had. They were perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing, unique for a wing, but it worked SO well! My husband had the beef and chorizo burger, it was cooked perfectly and the tots were crispy and light. I had the fish and chips, the fish was light and flaky and the breading was proportional to the amount of fish. The coleslaw was really good, it was light and you could taste vegetables! I love as not swimming in a soupy sauce, which made it so much better! We went back today (6.1.21-Ryan was our waiter and he was great!) for lunch before leaving town so the boys could have the wings and they both devoured an order of the California BBQ wings. My husband and I split the tri-tip sandwich Philly style and it was delicious with really good fries! We don’t come to this part of CA often, but will make a stop at The Pillbox Tavern anytime we’re nearby.

Poped in for a quick bite. With 2 large parties there we were afraid service would be slow along with the food. The service and food were Excellent! Monday's they offer a Burger and Brew just 12. You will not be disappointed. We also ordered the chicken club. Excellent as well. We will return.

Hidden gem of a restaurant and bar with a ton of TVs and the nicest staff you will ever meet. It was our first time here and it felt like we had been coming for years.

Pillbox is one of our favorite stops when we are out on a ride up the coast, or coming back home from a coastal motorcycle ride. It's always been a fun time when we drop in.. we have had motorcycle events, birthdays, other events, and tuesdays :) Thank you for always being good to us and our friends. The food is very tasty.. especially the tacos. Drinks are always mixed well... staff is friendly. A go to stop for sure.. and we can't wait to party on the new outside patio.

Place rocks and is a staple for us. The staff is laid back and friendly and very attentive, the food is excellent tasting and always hot and fresh, the fish and chips is the best in San Diego and the drinks are perfectly mixed. Ryan the manager and occasional bartender is a gem and it’s always a great experience to eat there. Atmosphere is coastal cool with numerous TVs to catch a sporting event

It's a decent spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Nothing bad but nothing special about it either.

Quick service. Nice presentation of food. Typical bar scene. Clean. I had a black bean burger. So there's an option for vegans (req. no cheese) /vegetarians.

This was a fun place to watch the games. They have local beers on draft and decent bar food like wings and fried shrimp. They also have fair amount of seating and easy parking making it a great place to go hang out and watch games or just grab a drink.

Norris tacos and fish tacos were pretty good. Service was quite slow and the waitress mixed up our drinks more than once. Overall, decent experience, good food, would definitely come back.

Went for dinner and was pretty disappointed. I should have listened to the little voice in my head that said this wouldn't be a good spot to get a half rack of ribs and I was right. They were burnt. How do you burn oven ribs? The beans were just okay And I had the rice instead of the Mac salad. The rice had supposedly four ingredients and you could only taste the coconut. I guess my expectations were higher due to a 4.5 or whatever on the googles. I don't think I'll go back.

Only thing that bothered us was that we got charged twice on tip. Dont know if that was intentional or not but the waiter did not say he had charged the tip already on the bill. So that was dissapointing. Make sure to check that when u go.
