The hotel is based in a lovely quiet location by the river at the top end of lake Como. The staff are friendly and accommodation is very good. Have stayed here a few times and recommend it highly.

I believe that the stay can be pleasant if you get the “superior room”. When I called for reservation, I expected that room, given the price they mentioned to us was the price of the superior room according to the website. From other reviews I expected there will be AC (we are traveling during 35c heat wave). Not sure why, but we were placed in Standard room without any comment. The room was not reconstructed and was very hot and bathroom was not the cleanest. We asked for a fan, but it was quite loud.. Unfortunately due to the heat I was not able to sleep almost at all. I would have much rather pay the 10eur more for the AC. Breakfast was fine,but I would recommend to only prepare it when the guests arrive to the table, not before. There was many flies in the dining area, sitting on a food. Hair in croissant - but I assume that’s fault of the baker, not the hotel. Staff did not speak English accept for the kids. They were pretty nice. Village is tiny and bit beaten, but it has its charm. All and all, I think it’s ok if you get the nicer room.

With its location, it has all the potential for top-notch service and positive word of mouth. Unfortunately, a great location isn't enough. It also needs a bit of friendliness, helpfulness, and maybe a little extra smile when dealing with guests. This alone would have made people forget the musty smell in the rooms, or the less-than-welcoming bathroom, or the little things you expect to be adequate in a room, even a 2-star one. What a shame.

Ordered two aperitif. One was OK, the other one tasted like convenience food. Both were overprized in our opinion. The waitress seemed kinda disinteressed and the waiter seemed overstrain. Noodles with calamari tasted good, but my friend got fried fish which didn't taste good and seemed to have been frozen before and then been stoved into a deep fryer. All in all I won't recommend that restaurant.

Never had a worse meal. We hadn't even had time to order before the plates arrived... already prepared with four fingers of butter on the bottom.

I would define this a badly thought menu. You do not find any locally rooted path. No research, no passion I would dare... A plain and mixed set of dishes, mixed roots (sea, lake, ....) with no storyline. Disappointed as per a tourist seeking local stories. Storytelling at zero level.
