Tried Bloofin Sushi for the first time and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Don’t skip the 72 hr slow cooked Wagyu, it’s amazing a must try!!! The service was great as well everything came out in a good amount of time. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!
Best sushi bar I have been to in a while. The food was fresh and delicious!
We have gone twice, and both times the food and service were exceptional. We also ordered fried rice as a pick up order once and the food was just as good as the dine in. The decor is absolutely beautiful. Both of my kids commented on how pretty and relaxing it was when we walked in. Our waitress the first time was Helen, who was very kind and helpful. The second visit, our waiter Steven, had great energy and we never had empty cups. I'm not sure of the name of the busser that night, but he was also on top of it in clearing out extra plates. I was so impressed how the staff was attentive, but wasn't hovering over us the entire time. The monkey brains were my favorite! Any version of the fried rice is delicious (we've tried them all), and the bento box was perfect for my kids to share. I will say the only negative we had experienced was that the salmon in the bento box was overcooked and dry, but other than that, everything has been well seasoned and fresh. We also tried the Bloo-viche, which blew all of our minds! It is made from super fresh fish with a sweet ponzu sauce. I will say, whoever designed this restaurant took no shortcuts. From the giant wood flower hanging in the middle of the restaurant, to the wooden check holders, and even the to go boxes are all well thought and don't seem cheap. The best part is that all of these beautiful "upgrades" aren't reflected in an unnecessary upcharge on the menu items, which makes this restaurant affordable for a family of 5 to have an elegant night out without having to drive into downtown.
Fantastic high quality sushi options and great service. Also good selection of special rolls and hand rolls for more moderately priced options. Highly recommend doing one of the menu options with assorted sushi and the chu toro.
Braeden, was our waiter and we basically had the best food and service that was beyond what we would expect inside the loop out here in spring. The food was far beyond our expectations and the service was polite, non intrusive and appropriate. We will be back, well above the anything on this side of town and rivals midtown.
Our server Anne, was super helpful, attentive, calm and kind throughout our entire meal. She checked in at all the right moments, offered us great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed or overlooked. The food was fresh and flavorful, her attention and positive energy really made us feel truly valued as guests!
Our family has been here twice and we just absolutely love it! We love the sashimi and nigiri. The fish tastes so fresh and just melts in your mouth. Service is prompt and friendly. This will definitely become our regular spot for sushi.
I truly cannot rave enough about this place. Best sushi chef in the area. Wonderful, super nice and attentive staff. The chef curated kiwami is well worth it. Beware, their baseline wasabi is at minimum twice as strong as most sushi places, which I personally like, but it will surprise you. The fresh made Hon wasabi has much less kick to it.
I always get the Blōōfin special and the uni chawanmushi. I usually get other appetizers, but I kept it light. The fish is consistenly fresh and the miso soup and salad on the side is always a bonus. The options change in the special depending on various factors, but salmon is always a staple. Service is great as usual and I'm glad it's closer now so I can go often.
Excellent Experience with a Quick Fix! This place was really nice! The bathrooms were clean, and the food presentation was exceptional. There was a slight hiccup with my order – I received a bowl of rice instead of ramen – but the order was fixed as quickly as an arrow shot. The service was great, and I really appreciate how fast they corrected the mistake. I'd definitely recommend it! Side Note: I want to give a huge thank you to all 7 million+ people who've viewed my photos and read my reviews! Your support means a lot.
We have been here twice and have been blown away by the service, atmosphere, food, and cocktails both times. It feels like a hidden gem in Spring that we look forward to continue to patronage. The small chefs menu each day is full of delightful, supremely tasty options that constantly change. The servers are very knowledgeable on all menu items and can direct you with choices if you're having trouble narrowing it down or want to be adventurous and try something new. I don't have specific recommendations because everything we've tried has been perfect.
Update again: edogawa is amazing, absolutely worth it. I'm usually not a fan of uni, but the balance of flavors was so good. Would definitely recommend if you want to try something more upscale! Update: went back again and ordered off the menu this time and food was delicious! We got the chef choice sashimi, the salmon and fatty tuna were so tender and melted in our mouths. Bloofin-viche was well flavored and had real Thai chili peppers, so there was a nice kick. Also ordered the bloofin special Maki and red moon roll, both were delicious! Would definitely go back and try their other rolls, but wouldn't recommend the karami based on our previous experience. We did the 'karami' option, similar to omakase bc they don't offer omakase anymore. We emailed them about their omakase and someone responded stating they did offer for $150 per person, 7 courses. But when we showed up, it was only 6 courses even though we called ahead and asked again and someone named Andrew had informed us it was 7 courses. Some discrepancy. Karami wasn't bad, started out strong with a flounder dish with a citrusy, refreshing taste, but everything after that seemed pretty basic. The fatty salmon was pretty decent. I wouldn't pay that much again for their Karami, total bill for drinks and karami with an added nigiri dish was about $300. We may be back to try some other traditional rolls because their sushi wasn't too bad.
We came for a date night on a Saturday & we sat at the bar. Cynthia gave us excellent service, start to finish. The food was fresh & so delicious. Everything we had was superb but one of our favorite items tonight was the Hama Chili appetizer. INCREDIBLE!!! We will definitely be back.
Overall I enjoyed our first experience there. The Monkey brains seem to be popular. For me they were good, but not something I'd always order. I had the Spicy Miso Soup and that broth was great! That one was definitely a re-order type of flavor. The server was very friendly and had a genuine feel to him. Atmosphere overall was professional and I love the flower woodwork above.
My mouth still salivates & my taste buds are still dancing from our recent meal here. While there are many places to grab sushi around town, it's a MUST to recognize the ones that set the bar higher than the rest. Bloofin is one of those spots. Just like the food it serves, the restaurant is clean, modern, and inviting. The menu has an everything from simple wine & sake to specialty cocktails, from basic sushi & rolls to extravagant dishes that include the likes of wagyu, king crab, lobster, foie gras, and uni. Everything if fresh & PHENOMENAL. Can't forget to mention that service is also outstanding, which seems to be so hard to come by these days. As soon as we entered, the hosts were welcoming. Our waitress for the evening was Hannah, and she was a joy - so friendly and pleasant... And, the other staff members assisting her with bringing food to our table were also very prompt & attentive. This made our whole experience extra delightful. Already love this place...We will ABSOLUTELY be back!!!
EDIT: We went back to celebrate an event, and our server, Jubilee, made it truly special and memorable. Tried new things.. The Bloofin Viche is fresh and delicious. We had desserts... The Matche Creme Brulee, Whiskey Latte, and Milk Crunch... All really good! The food was absolutely amazing! One of the best sushi restaurants we've been to. The best thing was the fois gras charanmushi... That was one of the best dishes I've ever had. We also had the Toro Special... Beautifully balanced and fresh. We also had the the Sashimi B plate and the Chirashi. Clean, fresh, bright sashimi. And the Tuna Sashimi with Goat Cheese... Absolutely delicious and surprising in it's unusual but balanced flavors. I had the Siryana (?) Swan cocktail... Very well crafted and smoky.. So good. The atmosphere was good. Only issue we had was with our server, Brian. He was terrible. Took forever for him to take our order, check on us, drinks, etc. Had to go to the bar to get a drink at one point because he just wasn't around. We could see the other servers taking care of everyone, so I don't think it's an issue with service at the restaurant overall, which is why I'm still giving 5 stars, but we would have had a far better experience if we'd gotten one of the other servers instead. Overall, great experience with the food. Definitely will go back and highly recommend!!
This was the best Sushi I’ve had in Spring/Houston! I enjoyed talking to Chefs as I seated at the counter. All the Sashimi was so fresh and its presentation was so beautiful. I’m from Japan so that I know this restaurant meets our high expectations! I had my Matcha tea served with Iron cup and pot. Even the ginger tasted better. Having such a knowledgeable server like Brian made our lunch more enjoyable and better. Thank you so much! We will come back for sure!
Yes this is indeed one of the best sushi restaurants in Houston. I can confirm from personal experience and from someone who's lived in cities in California and Vancouver which have minblowing sushi restaurants, this place definitely holds up. Very high quality, smooth, buttery cuts of fresh fish thoughtfully crafted into sushi rolls with just the right amount of rice and stuffing within. The flavors will leave your mouth watering and the pricing is high, but is reasonable for the experience to eat here. Plenty of parking out front within the plaza and our waiter, Alex, was very friendly and had great manners. Between my friend and I we ordered 4 different rolls and paid $98 with the tip included. It was well worth the price I think. I'd definitely come back here for fancy dates! I highly recommend this sushi restaurant for anyone seeking high quality sushi in Houston.
The sushi and sashimi were amazingly fresh! The restaurant was very clean and you won’t smell any fish or seafood like many other Japanese restaurants do. It would have been great if our server checked in with us, clear the empty plates, and refilled our empty water cups.
Decent service and good atmosphere. Ordered the wagyu skewers as starter and they weren't great. Very chewy and overcooked so that was disappointing especially based on price. Spicy edamame was ok but definitely not spicy as seems they just add some seasoning but no oil to mis it around. Steak fried rice was good but would say the sushi was just average despite decent sized rolls. The Yami roll had so much cream cheese that's all you could taste while the crazy one just lacked flavor so disappointing. The roll selection is a bit limited as well with not a lot of variety.
