Really, they could serve up fried cabbage and as long as you could sit on the terrace looking over Isola Bella on a hot afternoon, you wouldn't mind so much. That they also choose to serve very good food graciously is notable. We had the fish menu and the meat menu, and a few cocktails and a bottle of Tiganello and I thought it was very good value. Bravo!

Villa Toscanini trattoria si trova sulla isola dei pescatori, lago Maggiore, e si raggiunge in pochi minuti in barca o traghetto ⛴️. Dal giardino si gode una bellissima vista lago, ambiente molto rilassante e carino. Servizio ottimo, staff gentile e disponibile. Cibo buono

Da riprovare. Cornice incatenvole per una serata piacevole. Menu buono ma non eccezionale, camerieri gentili e simpatici forse un po' chiacchieroni. Prezzo giusto se si pensa che comprende alla fine anche il trasporto. Struttura (lato ristorante) un po' vecchia dentro e più curata sulla terrazza esterna. Sicuramente il fatto di mangiare quasi sul lago con il quadro dell'Isola Bella e il Palazzo Borromeo aiuta con una Stella ad alzare il giudizio.

Pernottamento molto soddisfacente, camera pulita e servizi igienici altrettanto. Posizione meravigliosa. Cena congrua alle aspettative, prodotti freschi e cucinati con rispetto e amore. Manca un occhio in più per le richieste del cliente. Se chiedo un'insalata senza un ingrediente specificando che non sono allergica ma sono fortemente intollerante, mi aspetto che arrivi un piatto senza quell'ingrediente... invece me lo ritrovo nel fondo, quindi in cucina ci si limita a togliere il prodotto già aggiunto ( peccato che fossero scaglie di formaggio) 😡... quindi se capisci che c'è stato un errore nel servizio ammettilo e di conseguenza sarebbe carino offrire all'ospite magari un caffè... visto che il piatto l'ho mandato indietro a metà per un tuo errore. E tu me lo hai fatto pagare tranquillamente come se nulla fosse. Comunque sia consiglio entrambe, sia camere che ristorante.

Bella trattoria con terrazza fronte lago affacciata sull'Isola Bella. Abbiamo trovato gentilezza, cortesia e attenzione al servizio da parte del personale. I piatti erano buoni con proporzioni adeguate (il coregone alla griglia era davvero buono). Oggi c'era poca gente, quindi i tempi di attesa erano inesistenti. Il prezzo è adeguato al servizio e alla posizione. Unica pecca, non poter avere conti separati. Nel complesso, esperienza positiva.

A nice place to have a meal or a drink. We stopped there for a coffee and it was really nice, the place was empty and we could sit anywhere we wanted. The waiter was friendly but he did make a mistake in our order. The prices are on par with the rest of the restaurants/cafes in the area, which is of course higher than normal but you should expect that! The view is very beautiful, you can enjoy it and relax while drinking your coffee. Recommended.

Tutto sommato pranzo andato bene in compagnia di simpatici uccellini. Tavoli vista lago e Isola Madre. Il cameriere che ci ha serviti era simpatico, gentile e alla mano. Su certe cose prezzi un po' esagerati però non sui piatti di pesce. Pesce fresco e ottimo.

Delusione totale – attenzione al fuori menù! Cibo discreto, ma ho ordinato una frittura (da menù) e una grigliata (fuori menù) di pesce di lago: stesso identico pesce, ma porzioni molto diverse e prezzi assurdi. Frittura 19,50€, grigliata minuscola a 26€. Fatto notare al cameriere, risposta poco credibile: “è fuori menù, il pesce è diverso” (non lo era). Mai più. Evitate soprattutto il fuori menù.

Provato il 23/05/2021. Bella location situata all'isola dei pescatori con vista sull'isola bella. Personale purtroppo non attento e poco professionale...buoni primi di pesce ma non eccezionali...dolci nella norma...vino bianco frizzante della casa (volevo un bianco fermo) non di primo ordine. Prezzi medio alti. Un peccato.

Tra tutti i ristoranti dell’isola abbiamo scelto questo per la vista e perché sembrava uno tra i meno turistici. Abbiamo preso due primi e due contorni. La pasta con la burrata era passabile, la delusione più grande è arrivata con gli spaghetti che da menu avrebbero dovuto essere con vongole e colatura di alici. Nonostante i 17€ del piatto, le vongole non erano fresche, era quelle in vasetto e totalmente insapore, la colatura era assente ed erano presenti dei pomodori (non segnalati nel menu) da insalata non ancora maturi. Contorni: la caponata era buona, i pomodori con cipolla e olive taggiasche anche in questo caso non maturi e totalmente senza sapore. Servizio scarso, sbrigativo e per nulla attento alle esigenze del cliente. Peccato.

Slightly disappointing experience. All our 5 plates arrived colder than desired. The two plates of spaghetti Cacio e Pepe we ordered came in different quantities and the server refused to fill my smaller plate with the remaining spaghetti in the the cheese wheel of which I can only assume was eventually thrown away.

Worse bruscheta I have had in my life. If the bread was 3 days old, we were lucky. It was toasted hours ago I guess because was it was really cold. Spritz good but overprized. We just payed for sitting with the views to the lake.

I simply wanted to order a simple pasta, which the menu calls "speciali". First, the waiter said they didn't have it; when I went to leave he said they did have it. But I should have left, it was very mediocre, a home cook could do better. I don't know why they even bother having it on the menu.

The food was fine. Service was awful, owner didn't respond to any english and pricing of drinks was a bit shocking compared to other places. Paid €16,- for a regular cola a beer and 2 coffee. Edit: after seeing other reviews I see we're not the only tourists who got 'special prices'. Wouldn't recommend.

Esperienza orribile, siamo stati accolti da un cameriere probabilmente UBRIACO che sbiascicava indicandoci il nostro tavolo. Una volta seduti troviamo le posate sporche con escrementi di uccelli e bicchieri con ancora le impronte delle labbra di chi ci ha bevuto prima. Probabilmente si mangia bene ma il disagio è inevitabile. Ci siamo alzati ancor prima di aprire il menu.

The most disappointing experience in our whole stay at the Borromean islands. Arrogance of service. Our pasta were extremely too salty and inedible, when we kindly asked the kitchen staff to try it, they’ve agreed it was too salty - however no courtesy offer of making a new plate! In the end they STILL charged the food I didn’t eat! We left disappointed but didnt want to ruin our day by complaining further as they came up with some non-sense excuse for not omitting it from the bill.

We were seated in full sunshine on 35°C next to an empty restaurant. They started filling the tables one by one and tables are very squeezed next to each other so literally you are lunching with the people in the table next to you. We had a small dog and another dog was seated behind our back making it impossible for half the restaurant to eat peacefully. Two dogs next to each other in a restaurant, seriously? After 8 years of working in restaurants none of my waiters have come up with this. We ordered a steak and there was only a butter knife for the steak. The service looks very professional but only looks. They don't speak English very well, no WiFi. Not friendly service.

My friend and I found hair in both of our plates. At first we thought that one is accidental. Then we found another small white hair in the cheese selection too. My friend and I are Asian so we have long black hair…. The restaurant still charged us for night the plates. Very unpleasant experience. Very expected from Italians though.
