Came here to eat at 10pm on Saturday after having terrible experience in the nearby Dosa Grill Indian restaurant. Ali baba food was amazing, quick and the guy at the register was nice. We ordered two Chicken over rice platters. Food was not oily or salty, just about right in taste. Had a nice conversation while waiting and felt like the right small town late night food option willing to engage with the customer and do business. A++

The smoothies here are AWESOME. The Shorter saudi/yemeni guy is a pro, if he or the girl is working the juice bar. You are in for a treat for the eyes and taste buds. This restaurant is standard in cleanliness, despite the dine-in patron's best efforts to litter (Sigh. Manners maketh Man!) It's a busy joint, for the made to order food expect 15 to 30 mins of wait. Call ahead if possible.. They are a gem of a spot for Syracuse/CNY. Who else opens to 4AM red-eye hours serving fresh delicious food like this? Ali Baba is everything you could ask for in a local restaurant. The owners have "graduated" from just operating a food truck to now running both the truck and a physical bricks-and-mortar restaurant on Thompson Rd., and it is 100-percent worth your trouble to drive over and eat. Smoothies are unbearably fresh -- we watched as the owner freshly peeled and sliced organic mangos for our smoothies, and he took a lot of care and pride in preparing the drinks. I had a mixed grilled skewers plate which was lightly and correctly spiced and perfectly cooked, not over- or underdone. My wife had lamb and it, too, was delicious. If you're one of those people who complains that there are too many chains and not enough good local choices...come to Thompson Rd. and support Ali Baba. They've been open in this storefront location for five months and they're doing great food for the community!

Groovy mood going on in this place, absolutely lovely man gave me service to the best of his ability and it was more than enough! VERY SPECTACULAR !!! Ordered lamb gyros and a chicken over rice platter which was all DELICIOUS !! Also a side of hummus which was very good as well, along with three carrot-ginger-orange juices which were incredibly fresh. On top of that, we were given a few small cups to taste test a few other juices and smoothies, which were also all fresh and tasty. Overall fantastic experience and would come here again

Wonderful falafel over rice meal! We go to Ali Baba at least once a week so I can get my falafels with rice. Its always so fresh, the rice is wonderfully spiced and buttery. The staff have all been pleasant. The meal usually makes 2 meals for me, which is a great deal. Always a good experience ❤️

Order takeout for a late evening meal. The mixed skewer meal came with a generous portion of very tasty yellow rice, a small portion of veg salad, and very tasty hummus. The chicken was white meat, but very moist add flavorful. The beef skewer was very flavorful, and had a nice charcoal flavor from the charcoal grill. The meat itself had a nice crisp exterior, but the meat inside was slightly drier as a result. The standout is the falafel. Absolutely get the Falafel if you come here. They make them fresh, and out of the fryer they are absolutely delicious. Make sure you ask for an extra portion of white sauce and hot sauce for the full complete falafel experience. Juice bar is legit. Fresh fruits everywhere. The mango pineapple and strawberry smoothie tasted fresh, delicious and refreshing. Would absolutely come back here again if I am in the area. Call ahead because they might get busy, and even if you call ahead prepare to wait as the food is made fresh when you order it.

I love it here the brothers working are always so friendly and welcoming and the fact I can go any time of day or night to have the freshest food is amazing in Syracuse. Stopped in for lunch we wasn't busy when I arrived. Ordered my food which was chick over rice and three lamb chops. The lamb was fried than grill and had a nice soft bit.

Really solid, well seasoned, and reasonably priced. Nice portions and flavors. 4 stars because ordering some of the items made on the spits during off hours can leave you disappointed. Not bad but dry in an obviously reheated and a bit stale especially the leaner meats since it's probably not economical to leave the rotisseries on all day. They used to have the very best fries, heavy salt and pepper and a dusting of sumac but they switched to a pre seasoned different kind of dry in the last few weeks. Still screaming hot and delicious but not really special any more :( Would love to see vegan protein so I can get takeout for the whole family.

First time ever trying Ali Babas and it was great! My husband and I have never tried middle eastern food before and it was very good, staff was friendly . We got the triple skewers meat was small but tasty steak was little tough. Huge portion of rice , hummus was good but the pitas were cold little tough. Overall will go again try some new stuff! Def try it if you haven’t .

The food was very similar to what I had overseas in Iraq. I highly recommend the mixed grill skewers. Unfortunately, the pita bread was hard and lacking not quite genuine as a naan type bread. The hummus was quite terrible, my assumption it's pre-bought not homemade but not sure, has no creamy authentic texture/taste and was very oily. The only thing missing that would make it authentic is Torshi.. (Pickled Vegetables, cauliflower, etc) Nice work though, keep it up.

If you catch the food on the proper day it's really good and then other days it's so-so. Same thing with the smoothies if you get the right person to make it they're awesome if it's the wrong person it's like sour foam.

Very disappointed in Alibaba. Their prices went up but their portions went down. They’ve started putting less toppings on their bowls, 90% of my bowl is rice and salad and the chicken is not the same as before, it’s very chunky, tough, and not as seasoned now. One of the worst bowls I’ve had today from Alibaba. My sisters bowl had huge chicken pieces and it felt like chewing leather. They used to be so good i don’t know what happened.

Ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was disappointing, no lettuce, tomatoes just bread chicken and dressing.

I am a food blogger and caterer visiting from Fl. I ordered 2 Gyros. I asked for Shawarma, but they said try tomorrow. I asked for my Gyro to be separated and there clearly was a language barrier. I arrived in the 10 minutes they stated it would be ready. My order was not only not ready, the order was being repeated and still made incorrect. The lamb was not shaved freshly from a rotating spit. I received three, small, oval, thin, hamburger patties wrapped in hard pita bread that was not warmed on the griddle. The customer service was as bad as the food and I do not recommend this fake representation of middle eastern food… or whatever you wanna call that trash that I just paid for. #Terrible👎🏼

My experience at ali baba Restaurant was absolutely horrendous. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this place was a disaster. The hostess was rude and unwelcoming, and we were seated at a dirty table. The food was even worse – my rice was undercooked and tasted like cardboard, while my friend's chicken was raw in the middle. To top it off, the waiter spilled a drink on our table and didn't even apologize. The entire place was filthy, and the restroom was disgusting.

I visited Ali Baba Restaurant in Syracuse today and ordered a chicken shawarma meal. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The meat had a bitter taste, the salad was not fresh, and the food lacked any real flavor. I was expecting much better quality, especially from a restaurant with a Middle Eastern name. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the food quality and overall customer satisfaction.

Watch the guy behind the register scratch his beard, handle money, play on his phone and scratch under his arm and never one change his gloves while making my food then go mad when I ask him to change his gloves. Got $60 worth of food late at night on a weekend. Food was crappy and missing many key components. Might've just been a bad time to come here but the experience was awful and I will not come back. Ordered online and arrived up at the estimated pickup time. Still had to wait half an hour for food. Got 2 shawarmas, a burger, and 2 platters. The combo platter was relatively satisfying. But the lamb chops platter was just ridiculous. $20 for 3 super thin (1/4 inch) chops that were overcooked to oblivion. Both platters were missing salad, hummus, and white sauce. Burger was on a bagel (not a good one), and the meat inside was also thin and overcooked. Chicken shawarmas were good but plain because, like all food ordered, it was missing all vegetables for some reason. Had ordered basbwah but didn't receive it - received an extra combo platter in its stead. Not complaining... The extra food was welcome. Hope this place is better in the day time!
