My boyfriend and I went on valentines day and everything from the service, to the ambience and of course the food was awesome. It has a very classy and upscale interior and our waiter was extemely attentive and friendly. I ended up getting moscato from the wine specials list that was delcious and $4.50 a glass which is so cheap for restaurants. The firecracker roll (i hope im getting the name close or right) was delicious and i made a comment i could just have that for dinner. I got the sauteed mushrooms with filet mignon and the veggies were seasoned and cooked so nice. It did disappoint me I couldn't pick the doneness of the steak as they claimed it was "pre-prepared" which was a little odd for a restaurant to admit, but it was still good. My absolute favorite of the night was the dessert. Not only was there a vast amount of choices, they were phenomenal. I got the chcolate pyramid and my boyfriend got the red (?) Balloon. Amazing. Definitely coming back for another special occasion, thank you!
We had dinner here before our show at the Landmark. Everything we chose, Scallops, Coconut Shrimp, Calamari and Oysters on the half-shell were delicious. It was our first time there, but we have already made reservations to go back! Service was impeccable too.
The food and service was very good. The waiter.. friendly, professional and helpful. I need a little help with this cuisine. The wine list is good. Reasonable selection but no Sancerres, which seems silly. The problem.. Prices are also silly expensive. A few reasonable alternatives but in general, 25% or more above comparable dining. If your thinking about wine with dinner.. you better not care about prices!
This place deserves your attention. The ambiance is lovely. The food is a nonstop parade of impeccably crafted flavors. Listen closely to your waiter's description of the specials -- you don't want to miss out. Cocktails and mocktails are all delightful. Wait staff is polite, attentive, and appropriately gregarious. Not a single complaint.
Lemon Grass is an amazing restaurant! Great food, wonderful people, live music. I gladly drive an hour just to dine here.
We did our anniversary dinner here, it was wonderful as always. I went for the full fish special and it was delicious. They had a saxophone and piano playing. Service was impeccable and the desserts are always a hit. We can’t do dairy / egg and they accommodate.
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. We took our daughter for Valentine's dinner. Service was amazing, food was exceptional, drinks were tasty. We ate the seafood salad, calamari, and shrimp dumplings for our appetizers. The dumplings were the best we have eaten. I had the halibut special and the fish was perfection. My husband had the 30 ounces steak that was delicious, and our daughter had the duck. For dessert, we had the apple pie with burnt sugar ice cream. It was fabulous.
Absolutely incredible food! Highly recommend. We will certainly be going back!
Visitors, big city transplants, & local hipsters. The look is downtown chic, in Syracuse NY. The white tablecloth service was very good. I wish I remembered the lady's name. 🤔 Food alone was quite the experience. Add on the vibe & I'd say downtown Cuse has at least 1 more place to add to the list of top flight fine dining establishments. If it's already on everybody's list, please pardon my ignorance. I am not a foodie. I know how y'all are tho! 👀
That was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. To the chef and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, nicer, and knowledgeable. I will definitely be visiting on my next trip to Syracuse. I hope y’all consider expansion to northern Virginia! :)
Excellent! OUTSTANDING! And delicious are the words I would describe my Favorite restaurant in Syracuse! I have been here 50+ times and the food, atmosphere, dessert, and the service is impeccable! Gra Pow is my dish of choice, though I have had the Pad Thai, Prig Pow, and sampled a few other dishes. The appetizers are good (Coco- Shrimp, Lobster Dip, and spring rolls are popular for us), the wine selection is good, the bar is well stocked and has a great look to it. The Desserts are both beautiful, creative, and absolutely amazing! You Must have dessert! The Chocolate Pyramid, A Taste Of Honey, Chocolate Can Can, and of course The Last Slipper are our favorite desserts! You will not be disappointed at this amazing place!
It has been years since I have had a meal as memorable as the one I had at Lemongrass. We had the tuna tartare appetizer, the orange duck entree, and the deboned-at-the-table fish special entree. Every bite was perfectly cooked and packed with bold, well-balanced flavor. The price may be higher, but it is well worth it for such an outstanding meal. My mouth is still watering 2 weeks later, writing this review.
Exceptional food! Surpassed expectations!!! I didn't get a picture but the sauteed shrimp dumplings were amazing! I had a special with lobster and scallops over crunchy noodles.. my husband had sauteed forest mushrooms with scallops everything was excellent! Can't wait to go back on our next trip
After moving from the Boston-area to the Syracuse-area, I found many things different that I had commonly-appreciated in my previous city, including the number of upscale dining options. But Lemon Grass provided a nostalgic feeling that I look forward to returning to! The waitress was friendly, the food was wonderfully-prepared, and the ambiance was soothing. Although they were out of the lobster tail when I visited, I still managed to experience a taste of it in their lobster dip trio appetizer. The service speed isn't the fastest, but the point is to properly appreciate all the nuances of the dishes and atmosphere before you. For a truly unique dessert option, choose the Red Balloon, a whimsical-sounding dish that will leave you wondering how it was made! For something more decadent, I would recommend the Chocolate Pyramid.
Nice bar. Special cocktails which were pretty good. Good menu. Had the calimari which was tempura prep, tasty, bit chewy but overall good. Had the butter chicken curry which was excellent. Partner had salmon special which was well seasoned but overcooked. Prices are about average for restaurants these days. Nice ambiance. Big restaurant.
Could not give a higher recommendation. Excellent place to go for a nice dinner to celebrate a special day. Great service and attention and the food was delicious. I am always worried when going to places in this price point ($30 entrees) that I will leave slightly hungry or dissatisfied. This was not the case at all. The portions were plenty and we both greatly enjoyed our choices. We will be back again and will be recommending Lemon Grass to anyone who wants a pleasant evening out.
Delicious food. Great balance of flavors and spices. Beautiful presentation. Good selection and variety without being overwhelming. Appropriate portions but definitely still able to bring home leftovers if you choose to indulge in the appetizers (which you should) and a lovely dessert menu. All in a warm, intimate setting with efficient and teamwork oriented staff. 10/10 will return.
Food was good( we loved the thia seafood salad) , but wasn't impressed with the Japanese wagu steak... we have had way better else where.... hopefully it was just a fluke
We wanted to enjoy an evening with a friend of ours in Syracuse. We chose lemongrass and it didn't disappoint. The oysters were fantatsic. The pad thai was on point. My wife ordered the curry and that dissapeared pretty quick as well. The dessert is the real winner. I wish i never shared it.
Everything about our evening was top notch! Food was delicious, service was excellent, and atmosphere was perfect! One of, if not the best overall restaurant in Syracuse!
The finest restaurant in Syracuse. I rave about their oysters, duck, short rib. Pretty much everything on the menu has a well factor and you should experience every item. The bartenders are very friendly and the music really adds to the ambience of the place. This is a great date night or anniversary restaurant. We love to go there before a show in downtown.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an amazing dinner at Lemon Grass. The service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. Every dish looked beautiful and tasted even better. You can tell they care about the details. The dessert was just as impressive—delicious and plated perfectly. Great spot for a night out in Syracuse. Will definitely be back.
Outstanding Thai food, steaks and chops, and original desserts. A beautiful bar to meet friends, and an award-winning wine list. The service and ambiance are excellent. Max, the owner/chef, is a perfectionist in the pursuit of providing the community with an outstanding dining experience. Many people consider this the best restaurant in the Syracuse area. (Note that the restaurant has moved to 113 Walton Street, one block north of its original downtown location.) UPDATE-1: Still, great service, great food, and great ambience.
Stopped in quickly for a drink while out seeing a client. Wonderful atmosphere, very clean and classy. Simple yet elegant. The bar is a gorgeous white marble and very well stocked. Didn't eat, but the menu seemed very appetizing. I will definitely be bringing the wife back for a dinner date soon!
Went here for our anniversary for the first time and the food was awesome! The food was a little pricey but was delicious. Our appetizer consisted of 4 dumplings which was rather small for what the cost was. But the meal itself was generously portioned. We both tried the curry. They have creative cocktails and homemade from scratch desserts that seasonally change. The tables were a little close together so it was a bit loud while eating. They were very consistent with refilling water glasses before they were even emptied. Overall we had a great experience and would go back again one day!
We ate at Lemon Grass for the first time recently and it was phenomenal! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. We had an amazing time! Everyone was friendly, attentive, and the entire meal from beginning to end was flawless. We ended up ordering way too much food, but it all was just so good! We started with the corn and blue crab soup special, which was delicious, then we got the shrimp dumplings and the yellowtail sashimi appetizer special. It was all excellent! For our entrees we had the short rib panang curry and the dijon crusted rack of lamb. The rack of lamb was the most tender piece of lamb we have ever had. It was outstanding. The short rib panang curry was perfectly balanced with a great heat and a nice sweetness, and the short rib was tender - just delicious! We also ordered some great drinks while we were there. Their lavender lemonade is great, as is their Thai Iced tea (a requirement whenever you're eating at a Thai restaurant). We even threw them a bit of a curveball by asking for a traditional Thai cocktail "Sabai Sabai" and they were able to make this for us as well. For dessert we got a raspberry sorbet (which comes with seasonal fruit) and a raspberry tart. Everything was so good! We can't wait to go back!
We had our son’s graduation dinner here. Exceptional service and exceptional food. Very high scale, they are all very attentive. Enjoyed the experience immensely. Little too pricey, but it is not your everyday dinner place. You come here for occasions to feel special. The food was absolutely amazing. From start to finish. Decadent desserts!
Me and my friends decided to try this restaurant for our Valentine’s Day girls night and we was not disappointed at all. We agree we would definitely come back one day. For appetizers my friends had oysters and I had the shrimp dumplings. There were 4 dumplings and they tasted amazing and the sauce they made to go with them complimented them really well. I also tried my friend oysters which I usually don’t eat oysters but I ended up having two because they were actually good. I preferred them with the tobacco sauce though instead of the sauce it came out with. My friend also agreed my dumplings were really good. I had a drink called true loves kiss and I enjoyed that also. We all had different entrées so we were able to try different things. I had the Kao Soy, 1 friend had the seafood combo prig pow, and the other had seafood combo street tamarind. They were all amazing dishes but we agreed that mines was the best. My dish had lobster, chicken, a scallop, noodles, bokchoy all in a nice creamy curry sauce with this crunchy noodles on top to add in a different texture. It was so much that I had left overs, one of my other friends had left overs too and we left feeling so full. I’m so glad we gave this place a try. The atmosphere was even nice, there was a lot of people but it still wasn’t too loud. We was still able to talk to each at the table and laugh while enjoying our time. If you come here I think the best thing to do is to make a reservation. When we arrived I gave them my name and we was seated immediately, there was no wait. I would definitely be recommending this restaurant to people who want to try something new and different with a lot of great flavors.
Delicious! First time here. Excellent service and Hunter our waiter was very nice and attentive. We tried chicken with Himalayan mango and the paneer with prig pow as entrées and they were flavorful and generous servings. The spring rolls were okay but the sauce was so good. We ordered the local honeycomb with ice cream dessert and it was exceptional. It is pricey but worthy for a special event or celebration.
I've been wanting to try Lemon Grass for some time now, I was very excited to try it for the first time tonight. Boy was I blown away! I already had the bar set at a decent level and exceeded all of my expectations. I started with a 'pour decision' to drink which was delicious. For an appetizer we had the shrimp dumplings, they. Were. Sooo. Good!!! Perfectly cooked And The little garlic crunchies on top took It will another level! Delicious on every level! For my entree I had chicken with red curry, it was hands down the best curry I have ever had in my life. This chicken curry dish is now what I will compare all other curry dishes to in the future. My fiance had the Himalayan mango dish, it was very good but I loved the curry more. We were too full to try dessert today, we saw a couple go past while being delivered and they looked delicious! We will definitely save room next time! All in all I was blown away and amazed, definitely can't wait to go back!!
Dining Week Trial. My first time here while my wife has been here multiple times. It was a very good meal overall. Lobster Dip and Vegetable dumplings. Salads with Peanut dressing and balsamic vinaigrette. Duck and Prig Pow for dinner. We enjoyed everything! Salads were fresh and light. Appetizers were appropriate sized and tasty. Dinners were perfectly cooked and fully consumed. Service was fast, kind and attentive. It was a really nice experience and look forward to going again!
We were in town for a show and made a last minute reservation to have dinner. We had the best experience thanks to our wonderful server, Roman. It was a busy night and we didn’t have a lot of time for dinner. Roman ensured we were in and out in time for the show while also providing excellent service. His recommendations were perfect and the food was phenomenal! We will definitely be back!
I highly recommend the Bangkok Beef for dinner. And getting dessert at this restaurant is a MUST! Both the Lost Slipper and the Chocolate Can Can were delicious (the Lost Slipper was my favorite) 👠🤤
Always an amazing meal. The "steaky bacon" is one of the most delicious appetizers I have EVER had. It is a MUST whenever we go. Food is great. Atmosphere is on point.
We had a party of 6 and everything was absolutely amazing!! We live in hour away and haven’t been in at least ten years. The new location is absolutely amazing. This was one of the best dinning experiences we had ever had. The service, the food, the dinning room everything was fabulous we can’t wait to come back!!
We went for Syracuse dining week and it was great! Our server Jasmine gave us some really good reccomendations off the menu and they were all amazing. Service was excellent and we will be back!
Had reservations for 2 birthdays. Atmosphere & food were amazing. Our server Sue was very friendly & helpful, Ash was tremendous & fun & kept us feel well hydrated. Only disappointed was we were looking forward to the king crab roll which we seen on the online menu- but was not available at the restaurant. Hoping it is brought back soon for our next visit.
No complaints. Staff was nice and helpful, food was delicious, live music. Great place to have an anniversary or birthday dinner or nice celebration. Highly recommend any of the thai dishes on the menu, also the dessert is really good. A surprising amount of options for dietary restrictions was very nice as well.
My husband and I have been here twice. This time we brought our daughter who absolutely loved it. My daughter had the vegan dumplings as an appetizer and they were delicious. My husband and daughter had the strip steak special both really enjoyed it. I had the A5 Wagyu special which was outstanding. Our waiter Mike was really nice and was helpful answering any questions we had about the menu. We will definitely be going back again.
An absolute gem of a fine dining establishment. Me and two other gentlemen enjoyed a mountain of food that was all with incredibly fresh food that was cooked to perfection. We got the seafood tower which gave us a great indication that the food was going to be amazing. The soup of the night was delicious and so were the dishes we got.
This place is a GEM! One of the top ten dining experiences of my life. Everything from the wine list to the service to the food to the ambiance was 10/10. Dined on the oysters, sashimi, NY strip, curry special (can’t remember the name) and two desserts. It truly is an existential treat for your pallet. Ethan and Billy are top notch when it comes to service and detail. I will forever be coming back here.
Lemongrass has always been exceptional and one of my go-to favorites, and it never disappoints. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and made with high-quality, fresh ingredients. The ambiance is warm and elevated, perfect for any occasion. This time, I had the Lobster Khao Soi, and it was next level. It was rich, comforting, and truly unforgettable. The attention to detail is clear from presentation to taste. Hands down, one of the best spots around.
Lemon Grass Restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, elevated by its highly professional and knowledgeable staff. The individual who took our order demonstrated remarkable expertise, sharing fascinating stories behind each dish and offering insightful recommendations with warmth and intelligence. His guidance led us to some of the finest selections on the menu, including an exquisite fish as main and tart that stood out as a highlight among the desserts. Every element of the meal was thoughtfully curated, and the wine pairing, suggested by the staff, complemented our dishes perfectly. The combination of outstanding service, refined flavors, and an inviting atmosphere made for an unforgettable evening.
My wife and I took advantage of the start of Downtown Dining Week 2024 and enjoyed a 3-course meal at Lemon Grass, and overall had a great experience. The value you get during dining week is excellent, but I can't speak to their standard prices. That said, everything we had was delicious and as much a joy for the eyes as they were for our taste buds. We went on a Saturday night (again, during Dining Week), so the restaurant was completely full, and the entire service staff was constantly busy. In spite of that, our waters were constantly refilled throughout the night, and our food came out in a very timely fashion - we never felt like the meal was lasting too long. When we finished our meal, our waitress even let us know that we were more than welcome to hang out at our table to watch the end of the Syracuse basketball game, which while we didn't take her up on it, spoke to the hospitality of the staff. My only (minor) complaint was that it was rather loud in the first dining area, but that's too be expected on a busy Saturday night in the room that includes the bar seating. The food, as always, was outstanding. Each dish had an impressive depth and nuance of flavor that made each bite exciting. The highlight for us was the Green Curry Beef - the cinnamon basil and Thai chili curry sauce was to die for, with a perfect amount of heat so as to not overpower and take away from the intended flavor itself. Lastly, a pro-tip: do NOT skip out on dessert here. Every option is hand-crafted into a beautiful presentation, and the flavors themselves live up to their appearance. Kudos to the pastry chef for continuing to do a great job.
My girlfriends went out to Lemongrass last night for the Downtown Dining Week special. This was my first time here. I want to say up front that while everything was delicious and service was great, I don't see myself going and paying full menu prices. First let's start with environment. This is a very intimate restaurant. Small dining area, warm colors, fresh linens, and candles all set the mood ideal for special occasions and celebrations. The service is impeccable. Our server recommended some wine bottle specials, there was always a guy filling our water glasses before they were empty, there was a different guy filling our wine glasses before they were empty, people clearing your empty plates so they didn't sit there too long, and our 3 course meal was timed out so we had space between each course and were not rushing to finish anything. I usually don't go to fancy places so this was all very nice. Now let's talk food. As I mentioned above, we were eating off the Downtown Dining Week menu. At Lemongrass they offered 3 courses for $30. Appetizer, Salad, Entree. Appetizer: I ordered the Shrimp Dumplings. 4 large dumplings were served in a chili soy vinaigrette. This had a little bit of a kick, but was really delicious. K ordered the Lobster Dip with Shrimp Crackers. This was not a typical lobster dip. It was not creamy and cheesy but more like a chili. The shrimp crackers were puffy and melted in your mouth. Overall the dish was excellent. M and J both ordered the Moroccan Fritters. 5 small ball shaped fritters were served with a sweet chili sauce. This is not something I would normally order but the flavors were incredible. Almost has similar flavors to a falafel but they were not as dry and a bit of a sweeter flavor to me. Dipped it in the chili sauce and it was so good. Salad: Mixed greens, a couple of tomatoes, and peanut dressing. Nothing real exciting but the dressing was great. Entree: K and I both ordered the Roasted Filet. I ordered mine medium rare and she ordered it medium. Both were cooked to perfection. They were juicy, tender, and had more flavor than I've had in a filet. They were served with a couple of pieces of zucchini and a small scoop of mashed potatoes. Both were good but obviously not the star of the plate. M ordered the Swordfish with chili sauce and said it was fantastic. J ordered the Chicken with sauteed forest mushrooms and said it was good but it was just chicken, nothing exciting. We paid a little extra to try a couple of the desserts. This is recommended as they were a fantastic way to end the evening. A Taste of Honey is not a dessert I would read off the menu and decide to order but now that I've had it, I would order it again. Local honeycomb, yogurt honey ice cream, and hand made granola. The perfect amount of sweet and the textures of the honeycomb, ice cream, and granola together made it an incredible dessert The Red Balloon is just fun. It's fun to read the description, fun to look at, and fun flavor combinations make this really special. Flavors of Rasberry, lemon, and rose all come through in this liquid nitrogen frozen masterpiece. If you have the money or have something special to celebrate, this is your place. If you can't usually splurge on a night out, then check it out during dining weeks. Guy ou will get a great meal for a portion of the price! Make a reservation because they are busy.
Lemon Grass continues to deliver a classy dining experience with creativity, attention to detail and well trained wait staff. We started with raw oysters with our wine from a great list. Then had two entrees to share: Prig Pow Shrimp and Red Curry Chicken. Both not shy with the heat (spice). Very good with great flavor. Topped off dinner with an incredibly creative dessert called The Red Balloon! The Red Balloon was raspberry purée made with liquid nitrogen! It was so good. Kudos to the waiter who was the nicest, most courteous and on his game.
We had a nice dinner at lemon grass! The entrees were good especially the duck but I wish the filet massaman was a little more tender. The desserts really stole the show and were so delicious and creative! Servers were friendly but a little bit slow - in the beginning it was really busy so that was understandable but then it cleared out and we were waiting for awhile before the server came to check back in with us. Overall we had a good experience!
Very nice ambience and attentive staff; however, I didn't like finding out after the fact that the bass dinner that the waitress recommended, which was new, cost $65. She knew that I was distracted as I tried to resolve an issue with my online reservation, and that I had not reviewed the menu. Therefore, I asked for recommendations, and she recommended two new dishes that I don't believe were on the menu. I asked for the price of my appetizer ($20 for fried soft crab), but the agent was actively talking when I selected the fish, so I forgot to ask its price. However, she knew that I was alone and had ordered an appetizer, so a meal this large was too much for any one person. They have one private bathroom for both men and women. This restaurant does not open until 4:30 pm. Though the meters say that paid parking is until 6pm, parking is free after 4pm. The meters only take change, one dollar bills, visa, or mastercard; I had neither. Parking is $2 per hour in the downtown area.
Had a fantastic dinner overall. The appetizers and entrées were excellent—I highly recommend the shrimp dumplings and spring rolls. The Bangkok beef was also phenomenal and full of flavor. Our assigned server was quite aloof and not very responsive, though the restaurant was clearly busy. He didn't come to our table for over 20 minutes, so I ended up getting our drinks from the bar myself. That said, the gentleman bussing tables (Jay B) was outstanding. He refilled our waters multiple times, noticed we still hadn't been helped, and immediately tracked down our server for us. He checked on our table more attentively than the actual waiter ever did. We even told him he should consider becoming a server himself—he was that great! Despite the slow service from our waiter, the food was so good that I'd still highly recommend this restaurant. We'll definitely be back.
We visited Lemon Grass during Syracuse Restaurant Week and had a great experience overall. It was definitely busy, so service was a bit slow and our server wasn’t super attentive—but honestly, the food made up for it. Everything we tried was amazing. You can tell the ingredients and presentation are high quality, and the flavors were bold and fresh. Since it’s normally a pricier, upscale spot, Restaurant Week was the perfect time to try it without breaking the bank. I’d absolutely come back for the full experience on a quieter night!
DECENT DINNER My daughter and I came here on the night before college move-in for a nice meal. We absolutely loved the cauliflower with two sauces and the oysters. Both appetizers were dynamite and she appreciated being able to have a gluten free deep fried option. Stir fried dish was only ok… Lobster was a very meager portion for $30. I’m not sure we will come back, but I’m definitely glad we tried it out.
It was just OK. We went for the first time and didn't have the best experience (for how expense the food is). I had red/yellow curry with lobster, scallops, and chicken with egg noodles. (sounds great right?) It was a special and didn't have a price on it, so I asked the waiter for the price. He said it was $35 but we ended up being charge $40 for that dish. I was hoping for the egg noodles to be thicker, because the egg noodles they give were very thin and broke easily, which I don't think works well with a thick curry. It tasted more like rice crackers. Our waiter wasn't very attentive to us, or really cared if we had any questions or if we liked our meal. We had to call for him because at one point he never returned. It was strange though, because it seemed like all the other waiters were great and very nice and attentive. Maybe our waiter just didn't really care? The dress code was a little weird too, for a nice place that is expensive, I saw people with tye dye t-shirts and casual clothes coming in. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend if you want good thai food. A lot of their menu items were Americanized and there was Pad Thai for $20... which you can probably find good Pad Thai somewhere else for less than that. Not sure why it had good reviews, I won't be going a second time.
Nice ambiance, wonderful live jazz, clean and very relaxing setting. However, we don’t judge restaurants solely based on the vibes, but the food as well of course…. The good: “taste of Syracuse” 3 course was decently priced. $35 for an appetizer, salad, and entree. For the apps, the oysters and chive dish was great. Not hard to do oysters, but the chive dish was amazing. Great spicy soy sauce based dressing and the chive patty’s were cooked nicely. The salad was a salad, not much to say. The entrees were the sword fish, red curry, and steak all cooked nicely and sauces were perfect. The dessert was amazing as well but we all have sweet tooth’s so not hard to please. The bad: definitely not authentically Thai at all. Keep your expectations low for authentic Asian or Thai food. The seafood dip was not good, tasted burnt. The steak at first was brought out rare/raw. Immediately when cutting in we could tell it was basically seared slightly and nothing else so we had it cooked a second time, and it came out perfect on the next go around. The red curry was alright, heavy on the oil and not spicy. Kind of watery and salty as well, definitely not the best curry nor was it authentic. The curry was a 2/5 at best. This place is relatively expensive, so I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon.
It was nice. The food was good. The cocktails served were interesting. Good Aisian cuisine. A subtle mix of Thai and Indian dishes. Also, a selection of steaks I guess to satisfy the occassional unadventurous, American pallette. The food was good, I was expecting a little more. The prices were reasonable. It isn't as upscale as most tout it to be. The patrons had a mix of attire from sets and dresses to shorts and tee-shirts. Nice place to eat.
Our waiter was friendly, energetic and attentive. Hostess were pretty but hardly smile. Ambiance outdoor seating is great. Food presentation is simple and nice. Disappointed with the hamachi - it was not sashimi grade. Using tube wasabi. Expecting Thai flavor in our dish... hmmm... not really. Totally overpriced. Beer is cheap though... we checked out our favorite bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon bottle sold for $85 when it is retailed $26.
Overall, good experience. The food we got was delicious. Service was great. Although- the dish we ordered that was supposed to have “scallops” had one singular scallop in the whole dish. Also, when they boxed our dinners they poured out the curry and left only the solids from the meal which was kind of disappointing.
Had to wait 45 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation, menu restricted due to availability, house soda tasted like pond water, meals were OK but not outstanding and the rice can only be described as mush, waiter was conspicuous in his absence, why a disappointment
Way overpriced. As for the Thai food....my pictures look nice but, meh. I spent a week traveling north to south in Thailand sampling all of their best dishes a few years ago, (do yourself a favor and make the trip.) so I like to think I can tell good from bad here in the states. I have had much better Thai cuisine from a hole in the wall mom & pop restaurant. Multiple in fact. The spring rolls were made to look like 4 but were really just two cut lengthwise and not that good. Also for the cost, the decor was meek and the bathroom was dingey and not up to par. Service was okay. Won't be returning. If I find another Thai place in the area I like I will post to this review. Sorry Lemon Grass, but not getting a good review from me.
Valentine's day 2026. What a mess. How can a large, well established, expensive restaurant botch the busiest day of the year this badly? Had a reservation of course. We knew right away that something was off when the hostess stand was in chaos. No greeting, just "Name?". Seated promptly but extremely slow thereafter. Computer system apparently malfunctioning, printers apparently dying. Food was fine but you can get the same quality elsewhere for half the price and half the time commitment. We won't be back, ever.
I recently visited Lemon Grass and was thoroughly disappointed with the service. Despite the restaurant appearing overstaffed, it took over 40 minutes just to have our orders taken. We tried to flag multiple individuals, but nobody seemed to want to take responsibility. This delay is unacceptable and left us frustrated from the start. Throughout our meal, we had four different servers, none of whom seemed to know who was managing our table. This lack of coordination was evident and only added to the poor service experience. While the food itself was decent, the atrocious waiting experience overshadowed any enjoyment we might have had from our meals. Unfortunately, due to the significant delay and confusion among the staff, our dining experience was far from enjoyable. I hope Lemon Grass addresses these service issues promptly, as this is not the level of service expected from such an establishment.
Why do they not have a single Finger Lakes wine on their wine menu? Finger Lakes Rieslings and Sauvignon Blancs and Gruner Veltliners are amazing with Thai food. It's just strange 🤔 I'd consider changing my review if they fixed the problem by the next time I show up. Even if they didn't want to go to the west side of Seneca, incredible wineries like Lamaroux Landing, Boundary Breaks and 68 Cellars are less than an hour away.
I don’t normally put anything in a review. Last night I spent $325 on four meals. All of them came out somewhat cold, the steak I had was full of grizzle and fat. All meals were little bit more than room temperature, but we were in a group and we waited quite a while to get the meal service was excellent, but probably the worst steak I’ve ever had it was supposed to be a New York strip, but I’ve never had one with so much fat incorporated in it.
