Excellent quality and variety...love their Mac and cheese, roast always good, even though they changed to pork roast from beef, salad bar fresh and varied. Guy who served us best we've had at a buffet! Left too full and very satisfied with our meal.

My husband and I have really been enjoying the great fried catfish on Wednesday's and Friday's. It is seasoned perfect and fried done. The General Manager, Benny Saldana is fantastic. He comes to your table and checks on the food and any concerns you may have. He really works hard to make sure everyone is satisfied with their food. Ok I am gonna stand by what I write. This place has the BEST fried chicken in town. Period. And consistently good every time. The pot roast also great. And for the price the fried fish on Fridays is pretty darn good also. Consistency is their draw. If you like something you will like it every time you come.

I love the food here. Last week I had he best lasagna there - it was some kind of Mexican/Italian combination that was delicious. I would eat here everyday if I didn't live 30 miles away. I love the variety, and get samples of as much as I can comfortably eat. Then, I buy a few take home boxes 😃.

Update: this super sweet Hispanic waited on my mom, my stepdad, and I and she was sweet, Johnny on the spot, and kept a good attitude even though they were running her like a slave. So I left a twenty two dollar tip and thanked her profusely.

I luv this sirloin stockade, it is so comforting, when u first walk in its like walking into a friend's house! U can smell the food from outside an u just can't wait to get inside an eat! Bridget was at the register, wonderful young lady! Our waitress was Josey, she was so sweet an attentive, excellent service! The food was excellent, I ate too much! I've been going there about once a week for about 2 months now and they always have a large and varied choice of food. It ALWAYS tastes good & it's kept at just the right temperature. I think they have had to stop some of their beef offerings due to cost but the beef pot roast is very tender and tastes really good. I can't really speak to the salad bar/area as I am more interested in warm/hot food when I go. The chicken has always been tender and tasty. Side dishes are really good as well. A large choice for dessert is nice also. Every server I've had but one, was very attentive and friendly. Some people are very picky and/or like to complain. The place is usually full of people who all seem to be enjoying their food and themselves. I always hear one of the wait staff talking to a customer as if they know them well. something to be said for that. Nearly forgot to mention that the prices are very reasonable.

Went here for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. Just about everything was fresh and delicious. We visited at a weekday lunchtime and had the full buffet. Everything was at the right temp ( not easy for a big buffet ), and we both enjoyed nearly everything we tried. Good salad bar, hot foods, an dessert bars, and we both were happy to find good tasting seafood items. Hubby also enjoyed pork and chicken, in addition to seafood. They had hush puppies, and they were great . Our waitress was "Grandma Veronica" - her name badge said so! 😀. She was a fun trip! . Both the restaurant and the restrooms were clean.

Always super nice, patient and ready to take down food orders. Extremely quick refills and conversation when approched, making it a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Food is replaced almost immediately if running low and mixed to keep from drying out. The taste is awesome, home cooked flavor that makes you feel as if your eating at your grandparents home. I love it here and visit frequently.

Hello, writing this review to show my appreciation for servers in this establishment. Two servers that helped me have a wonderful experience here would have to be Yolanda , and Cassy! Very helpful and cheerful. They got busy at times but never forgot about me! definitely eating here again soon!

I love the small town vibe here. We have been regulars here a while but the staff always shine. I don't remember ever having a bad customer experience. I especially love Karen! Always sweet! Always working hard! She deserves a raise for sure. I can't count the times she goes out of her way for customers! We had Katelynn as our waitress tonight and she pushed me over the edge to give a review! She was amazing at noticing food that would be better if fresher and went out of her way to make sure my children had the ice cream they had hoped for! Honestly, I love steak. However other R restaurants are charging a ridiculous rate for a so so steak. So for a half the price of other steakhouses you get a pretty good steak plus everything else. Had a nice trip to Taylor and we stopped by Sirloin Stockade. We enjoyed that you could either order on the menu or opt for the buffet, we chose the menu which also came with a trip to the salad bar and desert bar. Excellent customer service will bring me back cause I enjoy an occassional buffet. My waitress was professional, patient & polite. I'm glad I agreed to her putting in an order for their (a bit skinny) steak fries - fresh fried crunchy goodness. She was very attentive, refilling my soda 3 times. Well cleaned & maintained facilities. Their salad bar was decent. However they REALLY need to label their dressings. (I LOVE Ranch but HATE Blue Cheese. Unlabled, tasting was the only way for me to tell. I got lucky?) Actually, they need to label most everything. This could have avoided some wasted food, such as their mini egg roll things [w/ mystery meat?]). My favorite items: pot roast & their chewy oowey gooey great bread pudding. Oh, their tiny sugar cookies were good being a bit chewy. (Suggestion: Use dry erase markers to write food names on sneeze guards...) Thanks for an enjoyable lunch. I'll be back next time I'm in town. 😃

What's nicer than taking the cook/family) out and seeing the other smiling faces enjoying a home cooked meal by someone who "Really" appreciates you company and business. I hadn't been to one of these in awhile. For a buffet, it was not too shabby. The salad bar was fresh, pot roast juicy, and fried chicken crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. Overall, a solid 4 stars. It was also very clean. Employees kept the food area picked up amd wiped down.

I rated this four stars for the food but it gets a one-star for the clean plates. Food was pretty good. Staff was friendly. Went on a Friday for the lunch buffet fried fish was good popcorn shrimp was good. Liver and onions were good. But be careful and check your plate it took me about three plates before I found a clean one.

We go to Sirloin Stokade in Round Rock a lot, but we were closer to this 1 today. They had a sign that said brunch on Saturday and Sundays. Nope. They have breakfast on Sundays only. The salad selection was good but the other selections were slim pickings. And the chicken looked like it had been sitting too long. I'll go back to our original place.

Dear Round Rock and Taylor store managers and owners, I am a loyal customer of both the around Rock and Taylor stores and I wanted to brag on one of the waitresses that works in both locations. Cassy is such a pleasure to interact with when I come into the stores. I have a regular day and time that I go to the RR store and she puts out my drink at the table I sit just before I sit down. She calls me by name and remembers my habits and preferences every time. When I go to the Taylor store she makes sure to tell me hello even if my company wants to sit in a different section than hers. She brightens my days everytime I go. That is not all… I am an observer and have seen her interactions with other guests. She is knows a lot of them and is able to connect with each one personally in some way. She is able to communicate with both English and Spanish speaking families and her humor and smile are contagious. She is very attentive to all her guests in her service as well. Her memory of preferences is amazing and she goes out of her way to help those customers of all ages. Her approach is a “neighborly” one bringing smiles to most. She is more than a waitress for your team. She is the reason people keep coming back to your stores. I used my birthday coupon for a free buffet. Food was good as always. Piping hot. The person running the dishwasher needs to make sure to not overload it and to use the proper amount of soap. I had a couple of plates with what looked like dried, half-melted cheese on the bottom and one with a small drop of grease(?) on the bottom. That could only happen if the plates are so close to each other that the water couldn't get in there to clean and/or not enough soap was used. It is a quality restaurant. That was the only time I've seen the plates like that and I don't expect it see it again on my next meal.

The food was good, the wait staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The bill was also reasonable. I knocked off a star because the Mexican entrees were not what we expected and there was no sirloin steak that we could find on our first time in ( unless it was special order). The salad bar was great! We will come back and would recommend it!

Not what I expected. The containers were almost out of food and dry.

Updated 12/5/2023 - stopped serving menudo on a daily basis. First it was Wednesday and Sunday, now it's only Sunday. Old review - When I feel like having a home cooked meal, this is my place. Steaks are awesome, corn, mashed potatoes, carrots, spinach and rolls are good. No complaints

Service was reasonably quick given lunch rush. Tea re-filled 3 times. Steak cooked well, but a little tough. Baked potato good, toast had an off taste, probably due to oil/margarine being old. Place was clean and well-ordered. Overall, worthy of another visit when in Taylor.

We love Sirloin Stockade and frequently visit a location in our home town.....this location wasn't kept up as well. Great price points for dining out. Very friendly service. However, the food at the buffet wasn't the best. The salad bar was messy. The broccoli was very over cooked and mushy from being on the line too long. A lot of spill over to nearby items on the line. Maybe bad timing. They were not busy at all so I can't say or give a reason why the line looked like it did. We did see them begin to bring out new food eventually. I asked a few workers about items on the line and they were not able to tell me what they were or ingredients. I have food allergies and sensitives so this is important. We did finally find someone knowledgeable of the ingredients in several foods. We did see a server notify a customer when fresh pizza was put on the line. They told him, "your pizza is ready". He was so excited. That little boy's face lit up like a Christmas Tree! That was the best part of our evening!

It's what is to be expected of a buffet. Cheap food. You can have steak cooked to your preference. Steak was a gray color and ok in flavor. I liked the salad bar the most. The dessert is very dry. Fried catfish was pretty good. Catfish is on Friday. 3 buffets with 3 waters was $45. Not bad for the price and the all you can eat buffet. Service was good. You can request extra money when you pay out to cover a tip.

The food was ok. The #1 issue was seeing the manger on duty take fresh food and pouring it on top of the food that was still in the pan and mixing it all together. This can be a huge issue with possibly getting people sick and putting some people in the hospital. A properly train management team member should know better than to do this and it is against Heath Department rules. It makes you wounder if they will do this out in the open, what are they doing in the back that you can't see. If you have any health issues, I recommend you think hard before you go to eat here. Just like any restaurant, it's still a choice.

It's a hit and miss. \nNot that much choice for gluten free. The salad bar is okay. But the staff is fabulous. Super kind!

Only two stars because they had a server there named Cassie. That was the rudest obnoxious person I’ve ever met. She must really hate her job. I can’t imagine the poor customers that have her as a server. My server was actually great. Her name was Lauren but unfortunately, I had an exchange with this other server name Cassie it’s not exactly sirloin stockade’s fault. I understand that good health is hard to find but they scrape the bottom of the barrel with Cassie. I hope your experience is better, but I will not ever be returning to any sirloin stockade ever again because of one employee.

Quality has gone down recently. Against my better judgement we went there for dinner tonight and the food was old and dried out. My kid who usually likes the mac n cheese refused to eat it. There was a hair mixed into the broccoli salad which i showed to the cashier and she showed the manager and no one removed it from the buffet until I complained to the server. The pineapple was fermented. Just a terrible experience all around.

Absolutely terrible! Food has no flavor. Steak felt like rubber, chicken breast beyond dry and again noooo flavor. Dirty spoons, dirty plates. Place looks so run down and it’s extremely pricey for what they offer. I will definitely will never come back and I advise you don’t waste your time or money here. Save you pallet from this terrible experience.

Not too long ago, 2025, my husband and I walked up to the door and read a notification stating Golden Corral was closed due to failing the health inspection. To this day I have yet to see Golden Corral's inspection score card posted for the public to see. I thought restaurants are required to display those score cards in a public area to be seen and read by the public.

I know I rated it 2 stars, but everything was nice there, but a lot of the buffet was stale tasting. Maybe I hit it during a time when not a lot of people were there, so the food turnover was slow. I will definitely go there again, as I did like the steaks. Just like you want them to be on temperature. I really hope I just hit a one off time.

This place has gone down hill for the past couple of years, same ole food day in and day out. They would have the best crab salad if they would take out the red onions and the Celery. I would be amazed if they would make one with and one without, due to being allergic to Celery. They only think about their likings and not others. If you see this review and decide to change your seafood salad, then you would see me in their daily, because I would only come to eat that only. That's how much I want to see the change or one with and one without. It's only fair to the consumer. Be the first and others will follow. FACT.

There were only two table's with customers and at least 5 server's. So you would think that the service would be great. The complete opposite. It took 20 minute's for them to bring us a menu and anothers 45 minutes before we got our food. Which was great. The servers were all in the conner talking and laughing instead on taking care of the customers.

Decided to get fish for lent like we always do. Usually have no issues when going. We asked for more fish because there was none at all. The woman that said she was the manager named Karen began to get an attitude with us. We explained that usually when we take to go we are charged 7.99 a pound. She explained that since we are taking meat which I was not aware that fish is meat that we had to pay 12.99 a pound when we had no meat at all. We called to ask to speak with the general manager she answered.If you don’t like your job then I would suggest finding another one.

DO NOT GO HERE! The staff and manager are rude and unprofessional. My mother’s went for lunch and the lady at the counter had the worst attitude! My mothers are elderly so it takes them a little bit longer to move around and the lady at the counter was very inpatient and rude to them. Once they got seated the waitress ignored them and would not get them their drinks , when they asked for a baked potato she told them to get it herself even though she was serving everyone else one. When they asked to speak with a manager the manager did nothing. My mother asked for a number of someone she could call and tell them about her experience and the cooperate office did not care. All they said was that they would check the cameras and get back to her but we all know what that means. I understand everyone has those days and restaurants are busy this time of year BUT it takes absolutely nothing to be kind and patient. You have no idea what anyone else is going through, for people like my parents who don’t get out much the highlight of their days are going to lunch when they can and this whole thing crushed them. To have to PAYING customers walk out of your restaurant in tears and you do absolutely nothing and say nothing is wild. It amazes me the type of people that get put in charge. DO BETTER!

Monday Dec. 4 2023 Got there just before 5 pm still serving left overs from lunch food was dried out meat loaf dry off collared only had chicken thighs pot roast was a mess only scraps mashed potatoes had been there way to long gravy was so thick you could cut it service was sorry never picked up plates until i was leaving servers spent most of their time talking to cook at the grill cost with their eat in tax was for 2 seniors was 29.20 that's pretty high for what we got need to make some changes. used to be a good place to eat not so much now.

The food sucked me and my brother my two grandkids went over there to have a nice meal for breakfast and end up with food poisoning puked and have diarrhea I didn't even make it home good until I started messing on myself I haven't ate there in years for the Christmas party that Transportation gives us because of the food I give it the benefit of the doubt because I wanted to support you but I will never eat there again me or my family I'm 62 years old and throwing up and diarrhea and I've got to go to work tomorrow it was really pitiful now the service lady that waited on us she was spectacular never had a glass emptied or anything she was right on catch popping them and giving us whatever we needed that was the only good experience was the server that waited on us I will never eat there again me or my family

Our service was the worst I’ve had. Lady said our one year old daughter was in the way when she was in her high chair and pushed to the table. I don’t want this person to ever service us or anyone if she going to treat my one year old daughter this way!!!

Extremely overpriced for a tiny selection of food. You could go to way better places for the same price.

I knew better, but we did it anyway. Most of the hot food was cold and the cold was warm. The soda was so syrupie it was awful. Not the cleanest place either. The pepper slices still had the seeds in them, the gravies were watery and the salad mix was sitting in water not fully rinsed....yuck. Everything was grease logged and they just kept stacking fresh on top of old instead of rotating...ewwww Our busser was very sweet and attentive. Will not go back for almost $100 for 4 people!

I have eaten here many times and I must say this place has gone down hill. Completely dissatisfied with the entire meal. 3 plates tried a bit of everything. The only thing I was pleased with were the yeast rolls, even the sweet tea sucked!

I ordered shrimp, steak, green beans with a baked potato for delivery through Uber Eats. When I unwrapped the foil on the baked potato, it was so rotten I wanted to throw up!

Not what it use to be. Since when do they not have fish on Saturday? How come I get charged for the “weekend buffet” when it’s all the regular stuff they usually have. Steaks were really gross. This was my favorite spot like 2 years ago. Now it’s just extremely disappointing. At least clean your vents man it’s unappetizing.

We cane 6:30 on a Tuesday. I was surprised to find we are now charged extra for a steak. I wish I would have checked before paying because I would have turned around. Everything was overcooked, limp, slimy and the roast beef was dis colored it was so dry so the attendant tossed the fist slice away and gave me what was left. The salad bar was the only food thing. The waitresses never came to our table to give us our drinks or take our plates and we had to get up get refills. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I will keep my business at golden corral.

I've been eating here every week for 20+ years and been happy, but today all the food was definitely stale as could ever be. You can tell the catfish has changed or has been fried in old oil. And as always, my biggest complaint is the seafood salad having celery in it doesn't do it any good at all, as a pro cook myself. It takes all the flavor away from the crab. If you're going to put celery in anything, you should make one without it. No other restaurant uses over amounts of celery like Sirloin stockade does. It's terrible and not a good recipe. I would eat there every day just for the crab salad if the celery was taken out, and too much red onions too. So, for now, we will not be eating here until the new owner makes it right, after all these years, stale food and celery as stopped me from coming back. Sad, but all the above are facts.
