I met El Sirenito (who the restaurant is named after) today, and sadly it is closed for refurbishments and due to the owner having a new baby. This is the most authentic, tasty, reasonable and friendly (and rare) restaurant in Tulum, but as developments continue it becomes harder to operate. When they reopen I 10000% recommend you to visit.

As someone who prefers authentic local food prepared by local people, (more and more difficult to find in a town overrun by tourism) this restaurant is a shining example. Nothing trendy here--just excellent seafood, like fish tacos with handmade tortillas, aguachiles and amazing salsas! One of the salsas is made with pineapple, red onion, cilantro and habañero, and it was delicious! Very affordable, too. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a true Mexican meal and experience, and you should be considering you're in Mexico.
Authentic Mexican seafood 👍🏻 Well-served portions 👌🏼 The price is okay 👍🏻 and the owner is an excellent person 🙌🏻 He takes great care of you and even gives advice on cenotes and how to get to them 😉😉 An authentic seafood restaurant 👍🏻 Delicious 🤤 Well-served 👍🏻, the prices are super affordable for the area. And the best part is that you're supporting local businesses and helping them stay in business 👊🏽😉 The owner knows lots of places to go, including less-traveled cenotes and beaches.

If you want a real and authentic Tulum experience, then go and visit El Sirento. The food is delicious and the Mayan Chef William and his team couldn't be more welcoming!
I took my mom to this place because she loves seafood, and she was amazed. The service is very fast and the waiters are very friendly. I would perhaps only recommend ordering a vegan option so we can spend more time with our loved ones.
A fantastic place to eat ceviche and fish tacos! Definitely highly recommended!! One of the best ceviches in Tulum town!!

Although modest, it's a place with the warmth of home. The food speaks volumes: well-seasoned and fresh. Don't judge a book by its cover; give the Little Mermaid a chance to delight your palate. Pair some Gobernador or Baja-style tacos with a refreshing michelada. Let's support local businesses.
