The owners are very friendly and provide excellent comfort. When available, they also offer bioluminescence boat trips. They have a restaurant near the beach, and they take you there by boat. For a higher price, they offer various trips ideal for vacations. I went during the week, and it was super quiet, but they treat you like you're part of the family. I highly recommend it! 👋💞
Without a doubt, it's an incredible place where you can enjoy peace and quiet, the great company of Cleto and his family, good food, and an excellent life experience.
We arrived at night and found accommodation. The options are camping or rooms. There's ample parking, and you only need to purchase food to stay. On my last visit, I found the shrimp cocktail a bit pricey, but other than that, it's still a good option.
It's a very comfortable and peaceful place, everything is natural. If you need to relax and escape the city, visit this beautiful spot. It's a spacious area facing the lagoon, and they offer boat service to reach the most beautiful spots and tours of the lagoon to observe birds, mangroves, and at night, you can witness the bioluminescence (only when there's no moon). You can't see it all the time, as it depends on the lunar cycle. It's a tranquil and welcoming place. The food is absolutely delicious, some of the best seasoning in Lagunas de Chacahua. 😊 Prices are affordable, though they obviously increase during peak season, but it's always best to be prepared when visiting a tourist destination. 😉 The cabins are very comfortable and clean. Just be aware that in this area, you won't find hot water anywhere, and there will likely be mosquitoes all the time. Bring repellent, but that's part of nature. Don't be fooled by the bad reviews; the people are very friendly. I highly recommend it. Visit Restaurante y Cabañas Kasandra.
I didn't stay here, but I did use their parking lot, which we were able to use for a small fee. The car was well looked after and secure. I was able to enjoy some very cheap and refreshing beers in a hammock there and use their restrooms, which are fine. The facilities are rustic but adequate. You have to keep in mind your destination when traveling to Chacahua. After recovering from the trip, Kasandra called me for the boatman who took us across to the island. He was very nice and friendly, and we got along so well that we decided to take two trips across the lagoon with him. It was an unforgettable experience, and I'm very grateful to them.
The family that run this place are fantastic. Couldn't recommend higher. The private rooms had the most comfortable beds I think I've had in México! We also have camped here next to the lagoon. Kassandra and her children can also cook up such a good tasting feast that I would happily have them as my last meal chef😂
I first went for a school field trip. I returned, but this time with my family. Don Cleto and his family's hospitality was fabulous. At 6:00 a.m., he took us in his boat to see the sunrise. It's an ideal place to camp, a very different travel experience. You can visit the mangroves, the crocodile sanctuary, see the bioluminescence of the lagoon at night, or swim in the freshwater-saltwater mix. The time I went for the field trip, we were fortunate enough to find turtles laying eggs; a leatherback turtle even visited us. Nature in this place is truly special and magical. I highly recommend it. 🤩
We had the best time with the family! Camped there for 2 weeks. The food is amazing as well!
During my visit to Chacahua, I stayed at Kasandra, not in a room but in a campsite. The staff was friendly, the place is super peaceful and perfect for relaxing—it's a paradise. I did the mangrove tour with them, and at night I saw the bioluminescence. I truly recommend it; it's worth staying two days there and enjoying Chacahua—it's unforgettable.
Very pleasant, the lady who served us did her best. Please be patient with her as she is elderly. She cooks delicious food and the portions are generous (we had no trouble helping ourselves). The rooms with a view of the lagoon are wonderful because you fall asleep and wake up to an extraordinary landscape. There is no doubt that "the creation of our Heavenly Father Jehovah is incomparable," let us take care of it.
Excellent location, the owners are very attentive and know Chacahua and its surroundings like the back of their hand! The rooms are basic, the bed very comfortable, and the fan is great. The bathroom is private but very simple and is located inside the room. I recommend this place.
The place is nice and serves its purpose. There's no air conditioning, but the rooms have fans. I'd recommend asking about the cost of boat transfers before booking, as they charged us 120 pesos for three trips around Chacahua Island, whereas any other boat charges a maximum of 15 pesos to cross over. Everything else is great, and the people are very friendly.
Buen lugar
Muy caro el hospedaje y se fue la.luz no había ventiladores no hay señal de celular, la playa muy linda...demasiada mosca y zancudos.
It's on the Chacahua side, where there are no activities; you have to cross by boat. The food is good, and the accommodations are very basic but cheaper than on the other side of the island. Mrs. Kasandra's cooking is delicious!
I went to this place based on a video recommendation, but honestly, I didn't like it. The place is run down, the bathrooms and kitchen are unclean, and the prices are high. They also serve you very lazily. I think they could improve, but before you get to that point, you can research other places that also offer cabin and camping services.
Not recommended at all. There's no internet; they sell you tokens, but they don't work. The room only has a king-size bed, and the bathroom is tiny—if you're sitting on the toilet and turn around, the shower is right there. There's no hot water, just a fan that's useless because the lady turns off the power at night. Besides being uncomfortable, it's dirty and very expensive for the terrible facilities. I left disappointed by the place and because there was no bioluminescence since it was moonlit. There are also a lot of mosquitoes all the time.
We only used the place to park, cross the lake, and use the bathroom. When we arrived and asked for information, the lady was rude and made faces. The bathrooms smell horrible because they obviously don't clean them, and there's no paper or soap to wash your hands. The boatmen also seemed like they were doing us a favor. In general, the people there are very rude. Highly recommended!
