First time ever writing a positive review for a car rental service, but this Hertz location truly impressed us with their kind hospitality, helping us with our rental pick up, three saving our trip with a last-minute change, and ensuring a very smooth pick up for our car! Their facilities and service overall was very positive and seamless downtown- setting an example for all Hertz locations!

The rental agent was kind and he explained every detail concerning car rental. I was charged more than the estimated rate, but the deposit was returned within one week after I returned the car. You should visit this location to pick up a rental car, not the one at the central station. The parking lot is on the opposite side of the boulevard. Picking up a car there was not a problem.

We rented a car for 12 days, we had already pre booked the car and when we arrived for pickup earlier than we had planned, Daniele was super kind and very friendly and he gave us the best car available and also helped us with a smooth logistics process. i would definitely recommend this place and more importantly for Daniele's manager give this man a raise or a promotion!!!!! 👍🏼

It actually pains me to give a 4 to a car rental company in Europe no less but I feel compelled to give a 4 to Hertz. Let me make this clear however, I was diligent to document all the scratches and damage on the car when I picked it up in Milan (near train station). Giuseppe at the desk was very nice and no problem there. He handed me a sheet with pre-existing damage. After picking up the car I did about a 1 hr review of the car and found 7 pages of damage and the hardest thing is it’s in a garage so difficult to see. This process however sucked because first I had to pick up the car -document the damage with pictures-then figure out how to bring it up to the first floor of this place so that I could get the damage documented by the Hertz employee. I had to leave the facility drive around in the city to get back to the first floor of the garage. Anyway it was worth the time. The car was great and had no problems driving in the Dolomite mountains. When I returned the car to Malpensa I made sure I cleaned the car by hand and Francesco checked it in without any hassle. Final word-document document document because I will never trust a car rental agency regardless of this experience and completely understand other reviewers bad experiences with these companies.

It's not the best Hertz outlet I've been to but if you do your homework, understand the locals and have a little patience it all gets there in the end. I've got the gold membership and unlike the other rentals I've had with Hertz, the car wasn't ready and waiting for me and I use their queuing system. I accidentally press the normal Hertz button and get a waiting ticket then notice the gold membership button press that one (normal queue 14 people in front of me, gold program puts me at the front of the line (I feel for the people I've just swanned past, but do your homework people). Also, I've been renting a few nice cars from Hertz in the past year so they give me an upgrade too, molte bene! There was a tiny hiccup but I think it may have been a translation thing. They said my card was not authorized so I couldn't rent the car today (this is where patience comes in... It doesn't make sense but it has to work somehow). So I ask "so what do we do?". There's a bit of awkwardness, a stumble, but she processes my credit card again and all is fine. I'm not worried about them stealing funds from my card, being a diamond-level customer means my bank loves me and if I dispute transactions, they'll investigate and refund any incorrect charges. I read the comment about someone scratching their 4x4. This it Italy, it's not the land of big cars, if you're nervous slip the car park dude a 20 and he'll probably drive it out for you (he loves boot camp training but it costs €100 a month). I got the big 4x4 and yes it's tight, but the discovery has parking sensors which make it easier though someone had turned them off, I found them in my setup routine and reactivated then along with changing system language to English, photographing every tiny scratch, noting that there was no spare tire etc. The carpark guy double checked everything again and I was good to go. I also found that for €15 extra I can drop the car off at the airport instead saving me the tight carpark return and €26 for two one way train tickets to the airport (crossing fingers the woman told me the right number...I did confirm "one-five not five-oh").

UPDATE: It took 4 months, but this review and me reaching to Hertz customer service caused them to reach out to me and refund me. So I will up my review to a 3 start from a 1 star for that. I can't give it 5, because it was still poor and I shouldn't have had to go through this, but at least they made good on refunding me. Worst rental car experience yet. When we got there during open hours there was nobody there. So we had to ask Avis around the corner where to park the car. We never would have found it without them. It was across the street in a parking garage. In the parking garage, there were Avis workers helping them, but nobody for Hertz. So we left our car there with a receipt for the car rental. Then I got a bill for 100 Euros for 'special cleaning' and they had a picture of the sole receipt that I left there for them. These guys are scammers, avoid using this Hertz if possible.

Rented the car for 12 days. 2nd day itself got warming light on tk fill in engines oil , millage only 9200 Km. I was fired to shorten my holiday to return my car one day earlier due to fears that the engine might get damaged. Complaint to hertz. Nothing that they can do. The staff never say sorry also. Perhaps she is saying I am just bad luck. Et the end, discount Euro 30 for returning one day earlier. Not recommended to rent from hertz.

Absolute scam of a company and place! I should’ve listened to the people who reviewed, please please avoid this place. Literally rented the car for a day from Milan city central to go shopping at the outlets and then to the airport. Totally driving time— 3 hours. They charged me $1100 for damages 3 weeks later. The pictures of the “damage” is a joke itself. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING!! But before that—- DO NO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE RENT FROM THIS PLACE. What a joke!!!! I wish I listened to the reviews sooner

Terrible service. After renting the car for a week and choosing not to buy the collision insurance, they’re now trying to force me to pay for damages the car already had. I’ve been fighting this issue for several weeks without anyone being able to resolve it. To me, they’re nothing but thieves, and I would never use Hertz again.

SCAMMERS and THIEVES! AVOID THIS BRANCH AT ALL COSTS! I am writing this review to warn everyone to stay far away from this branch of Hertz! I rented a car for a quoted price of only €115, but they have since fraudulently charged me over €800! They are claiming damages that were already there upon picking up, yet they never showed me any scratches upon return. To this day, I have not received any damage report detailing these supposed issues. Despite my repeated attempts to get clarification, Hertz has completely refused to provide any evidence and has stolen my money. This is nothing short of a scam and outright theft. Do not trust this company! The employees are dishonest and will rip you off with fabricated charges. I have never experienced such appalling and fraudulent behavior from a rental car company. My family and I have been using Hertz for years, never experienced something like this. WILL NEVER USE HERTZ AGAIN! Save yourself the headache and the financial loss – RENT ELSEWHERE!

Terrible service! Yesterday we booked a car for the next morning. We came in the morning and the worker, an elderly man with a beard, behaved disgustingly. He said that our reservation was not there, although we showed him the document. Then he began to say that there was a car, but not automatic but manual. We wasted time and nerves and in the end did not get what we booked. This company ruined our day.

Avoid this rental location at all costs. If you are attracted by the relatively low price or convenient location of this office, don't be. A single day of car rental cost us close to 1000 Euros. When we arrived to pick up our car the staff told us it was a manual transmission despite us clearly booking an automatic. They conveniently ran out of automatic cars "except for a brand new Audi", which cost us an extra 200 Euros to rent for a single day. That's not the worst. One of our rental car tire got punctured just around the corner of the rental garage by a motorcyclist who stole our luggage. When we managed to drive the car back and told the staff they were extremely unsympathetic, shrugged and said it happens all the time. The staff then proceeded to charge us an extra 500+ Euros for the punctured tire. Daylight robbery. She even shouted at us for wanting to read the itemized damages on the display screen again. Judging by the proximity of where the incident happened to the Hertz garage and how the staff swiftly charged us the additional fee, I am not at all surprised if some of the staff members are in cahoots with the robbers. My partner and I have traveled and used rental cars dozens of times throughout the US and Europe and this is by far the worst experience we have ever had. Judging by the other reviews, we are certainly not the only ones to be scammed/taken advantage of. Not only should Hertz shut this location down, but they deserve to be investigated by the police.

Be very cautious! We rented a car online from this company for three days. When we arrived, they informed us that the requested car was unavailable and gave us a lower-quality car at the same price. We were supposed to travel from Milan to Rome. The total cost of our car rental was supposed to be €280, but after returning the car, they withdrew €580 from our account, simply labeling it as a “damage fee” on the invoice. There is no proper way to file a complaint. Be very careful when renting a car from this company!

If you want to save yourself from being overcharged avoid this place!!! I contacted Hertz and they just blamed me and had zero sympathy. It’s easy for them to overcharge and take advantage but not to actually keep their word and honour their price! In addition, no bond has been released!

I am writing a review to ensure everyone who books with Hertz internationally will be scammed overseas with no help from anyone from Hertz. My friend and I went to the Milan office to pick up the car he booked at 2:00pm 13/10/24. We needed to modify the booking under a different name. The lady at the counter said that’s not allowed and that I had to pay for a brand new booking and she charged us double! Using rates as a last minute booking. On Hert’z website it says we can modify bookings and in person an admin fee but instead the Hertz in Milan took advantage of us! This is unbelievable, essentially we were robbed. In Hertz’s credit they got back to me on the experience I had and making it my fault, and stating “out of goodwill” they will amended cost with a small discount and voucher. It was a pity response as if I am the one in the wrong. More to the point, It’s been two weeks, my bond has not been released, no invoice and no voucher. ROBBERY! People who do book, the only advice I give is don’t let the people serving you intimidate you with rules relating to your payment and bonds, or if you can choose another provider. If I only read the reviews before I booked, I would’ve safeguarded myself. I am not the only one. Should Hertz choose to contact me in future about this matter, it will determine this post exisiting.

Our personal experience was really bad here. A lady working behind the desk with dark hair was very rude and not service oriented. Did not provide us the information needed from beginning, and just sighed with her eyes and got aggitated by having to help us out. No good servicefrom her. We booked an automatic car (prepaid), and after 5 hours of waiting, we get the information that there are no more available automatic car. Same thing happened with two costumers prior to us. Costumers got very upset, which I understand. Half our day of our vacation, and not to mention the money we have spent, went to waste. I do not recommend anyone to rent cars from here. However, the rest of the staff was trying to be more helpful, but in the end it resulted in not getting any rental car we had already paid for. I have rented cars many times before, and never had such a bad and difficult experience as in this rental car company.

I am very disappointed from Hertz. During the inspection at the return of our car, Hertz did not have any complaints. Only in the evening I found a damage report in my mail box. First they claimed that we damaged the carpet even tough it is obviously just dirty. Secondly, they claimed that we broke the light. Yet, we took a video just before we returned the car on parking lot 33 (on our pick-up, the car was parked on lot 32). In this video one can clearly see that there was no damage at the lights, but only a reflection from a nearby house. I have send out 5 e-mails since then, but Hertz never replied!
