We had a rice dish with lobster that we had reserved the day before. They had a problem, and it was delayed beyond the agreed time. They more than made up for it with aperitif drinks and a scorpion fish pie. The rice dish was delicious and very filling. Recommended (reserve a day in advance and make sure it's not on a weekend).
For starters, we ordered clams in sauce and fish soup. Delicious. It was hard to wait for the clay pot to cool before we even had a spoonful. Delicious flavor and texture. For the main course, monkfish and Galician-style hake. Produced in Celeiro, so the fish was almost caught at the door. When cooked Galician-style, the sauce hides no smell or flavor. They were to die for. I would recommend limiting the amount of potatoes because the portions are already generous, and it's a shame to send such delicious food back. Finally, for dessert, we ordered a very light and flavorful cheesecake, without too much sugar. This isn't our first time here, and we keep changing what we order to try everything. It doesn't disappoint. The service was very good without being overbearing. We'll be back. (I'm tempted by the hake cachopo.)
Perfect restaurant to enjoy local produce! If you're two or more, it's a must-visit, order the seafood platter on the menu, and if you have the opportunity to reserve ahead of time, ask for a table upstairs to enjoy the beautiful views of the estuary. It's a culinary experience not to be missed!
MORE THAN SATISFIED!!!! My group of friends and I have been in this town for a week, traveling from Barcelona for the "Resurrection Fest" music festival. We've eaten there every day, both from the set menu and à la carte, and we couldn't be happier. The service from the waiters, the food, and the atmosphere all make you feel right at home. Plus, there are fantastic panoramic views of the town and its estuary. The quality-price ratio is unbeatable. The set menu includes: First and second courses (heavy portions) + a drink, bread, dessert, and another drink for only €15!!! Even though it was packed due to the crowds in town at that time, the management and attention to detail to ensure everything was to our liking was exquisite. We went on the recommendation of a local business, and it was definitely a great choice! If you want to eat well at a very good price, this is definitely a great place. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! We'll be back :)
A spectacular place to have a drink. They keep serving you tapas with your meal, whether it's popcorn chicken, shrimp in batter, tripe, empanada, calamari... The food is also delicious, and right next to the estuary with great views. The price is also good, appropriate for what you order. 100% recommended.
A great restaurant just out of the main town. Authentic homemade food of a high standard. Good staff. Lovely bay views whilst you eat. The place locals go to. The menu of the day is a real bargian.
Excellent service and food. The bar downstairs serves great coffee and drinks. Upstairs is the dining room with a great view of Viveiro. Outdoor seating is available. Parking is limited to the street.
Nice restaurant and bar with some outside seating. The restaurant upstairs is beautiful , clean and cozy. Some table have a nice view of the Ria. Our party of 7 was there on a Sunday for cocido. We were not disappointed. The waitstaff was excellent and the cocido delicious. We will go there again to try other offerings on the menu.
Very good price for awesome Galician simple yet typical and tasty pasted! Definitely repeat and absolutely a safe bet for lunch and dinner!
Si repetiré, posiblemente no.
We came for lunch with a reservation and the experience was generally good, but there were a few things I didn't like: The set menu I've attached (the one that was displayed at the entrance that day) didn't match the menu we were offered at the table: the beef was replaced with tongue, and the whiting with roosterfish. For dessert, one of the people at our table ordered a dessert and then a coffee (so it wouldn't get cold), and when the desserts were served, they brought him everything at once. The quality of the food was decent: The lasagna tasted somewhat like "Starlux" brand and was lacking in meat; the rice had a good flavor but was very overcooked (in the opinion of the seven people at my table who tried it); the cooked ham lacked any real flavor: nothing but paprika (which was the only thing it tasted like), and the potatoes were so dense they were almost impossible to eat for enjoyment; you only ate them because you felt the need to finish the whole plate. The tongue, which I don't have pictures of, was delicious – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED – in my opinion; the coffee flan was good too. The atmosphere was quiet and therefore very pleasant, and it's appreciated that people don't shout. The service was also excellent: very friendly because when water spilled from a glass, they came right away to fix it, and they also offered us more food in case we were still hungry (I was surprised by this attitude). Very nice overall. The place had two bathrooms: I only used the one downstairs (by the bar) and it was quite decent. SUMMARY: I recommend this place if you're visiting the area or if you want to eat well for the price (15€ for the quality of the products I mentioned earlier). 4/5
Good food and abundant.
Pleasant place.
No volveremos, pensaros bien si ir. Hay muchos lugares mejores en viveiro
I find it disgraceful. We ordered two Ribeiro vintage wines. The waiter looked at us strangely, as if he didn't know what a vintage wine was. He told us it was Albariño. Okay, house Albariño, we said. He brought us glasses that were ridiculous for a wine and charged us €3.20 for each wine, so we wouldn't cry. I think they see you as outsiders and are taking advantage. Don't they know what a vintage wine is? A house wine? That's why I order the wine, I choose it, and I want a good glass, not a vacenilla.
Something smell FISHY here....We were told the Arroz con gambas y pulpo was 22€ per plate that could serve 2-3 person when we order, but the restaurant wanted to charge us 66€ for the plate during our lunch and when we said we want to cancel they do not allow, but when we ask another server to double confirm the price, they change their mind to change us 22€ again, be very careful if you are tourist!!!!!
I didn't give a low rating because the food wasn't good. It was, and the serving was generous. And, I didn't give it a low rating because of the service, which was brisk but friendly. The place was comfortable and sitting out on the sidewalk was pleasant...it didn't matter that the place is at the far edge of town...the view over the ria was delightful. No...the low rating comes from their pulling the cheesiest stunt a restaurant could pull. Sneaking in hidden charges for things that weren't ordered but offered as apparent gratuities. I won't elaborate...it's up to them to work it out. And, I wonder if it was because I'm obviously not a native. Whatever...this place coulda been a contender. Sorry guys, you blew it!
