Very delicious catfish dinner highly recommend
We had dinner there for the first time. We had an onion ring appetizer. You could see seasoning in the batter and were very good. The blackened fish was so good. Moist, not dried out bit not undercooked. Chicken fried steak was great. Our waitress was so very good for as busy that she was. We will definately stop again.
For the type of restaurant it is, the food was fantastic. We were fairly hungry and had a good mixture of everything. This place is very reasonably priced for the amenities and scenery around. The waitstaff was kind and courteous on a Sunday afternoon. They even remember to make my french fries extra crispy. We really don't have anything negative to say about the dinning experience. My fiancee did say the restrooms were a 1 star.
Atmosphere was solid, service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait!
I drove from Tyler, Texas to meet with one of my family members in Waskom. He told me that Catfish Village was a great spot, and after having dinner there with him the other night, I totally agree. The Catfish was excellent. Right amount of season and crunch, a great buttery flavor, and the Hushpuppies were right there with it. My wife got their Chicken, and it was likewise amazing. This was also my first experience with Fried Tomatoes, and they were astonishing. The place was quiet for a Friday night, but the atmosphere was welcoming. Our waitress was good about keeping us topped off on drinks, and did so with a positive attitude. 5/5 Stars, should I be passing through, I will definitely go back!
We attended a group luncheon there and the service was exceptional even though our group was large (30+). We had a very enjoyable experience.
I love this Lady Customer service Liz Is My Favorite Period.
Second time to eat here. Fantastic service. Good was GRANDTASTIC.
Good food with good friendly service.
It took a while to receive our order. It was me and 2 friends from work. Our waitress was really friendly. Have really liked this place for a LOOONG time. Miss the open salad bar. Food is good at this place!
Amazing food and service! Only 2 waitstaff tonight and we were given a heads up from Hannah as we came in the door. I can’t say enough how much we appreciated the honesty! The crew on duty handled it like a BOSS!!! If we waited longer than usual, we couldn’t even tell! Amazing job guys and gals and the food was on point too!!!
Beautiful place to eat. Beans and hush puppies are great.
We haven't eaten here in years. We stopped in tonight and enjoyed our meal. The waitress, Leah, took great care of us. The fish, shrimp, coleslaw, beans and hush puppies were so good. We will be back.
I didn't get our waitresses name (server #4), but she did an amazing job of accommodating 50 of us when there was supposed to be 30! We still got our drinks & setups very quickly! Our food orders were delivered sooner than expected! It was my aunt's 90th birthday & it went fabulously! Many thanks to the staff!
Food was great, especially the shrimp. Waitress was friendly and attentive. View of small lake out back was relaxing.
This place is phenomenal!! The food is on point! I got the catfish and the flavor was better than any place around here! I will be going back!! Highly recommend for a cozy date night! 😉
Today was my third time to eat there. The catfish is my go to favorite and the coleslaw and hushpuppies are awesome. The service is always great and if you go save some fries to feed the ducks.
Tracy was fabulous. She checked ✔️ on us 9 times in about 63minutes about every 7 minutes I believe. Our drinks never got below 1/2 full. She was so very nice, kind, courteous and professional 100%. I owned steak and Seafood restaurants and Cafes in past years and I would have been very tempted to steal her away from here to be a part of my wait staff. However I don't think 🤔 I could have tempted her as she appears to be sold out to her employer and staff. She made staff and customer alike so happy. Now to the restaurant and food. It was super clean and friendly. The Food was something I would write my mama and grandma about and be very proud to take them to to dine 🍽 ❤️ out in style 😎 and comfort. We tried a variety of dishes from Shrip to Catholic Fries, Oysters, Coleslaw and Beans, Hushpuppies, Sweet Tea 🍵 😋 and it was excellent. I have been a Certified Chef 🍳 and hospitality Manager and restaurants owner 40 plus years and I am beyond impressed. Regular or Cajun your Choice. I give my highest rating to the chief chef and kitchen staff to wait staff, hospitality ladies who welcome you in and seat you through check out. Can’t go wrong eating here if you’re looking for good fresh catfish, red beans, & Cole slaw. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
A great place to go. The food and service is the best I have enjoyed in a while.
Right off I20 West, delicious fresh fried catfish in a restaurant with a beautiful lake view, hush puppies that you want to keep eating.
Beautiful atmosphere and views, great food and shoutout to Leah our server she was very respectful and helpful!
Fantastic for and a great atmosphere! This location is set on a scenic lake with great views and a great water feature in front. In the inside the themed multi-story lobby feels like something out of a theme park ride. Most importantly, the catfish and chicken are both delicious - the hush puppies are great, and the views are outstanding. Its always worth the stop!
We have stopped here several times while travel. The food is always great and the staff is friendly.
The cutest waitress was ours. They were quiet, but quick. The store was cold and I had to go get my coat to eat in. Fish and chicken fried steak were good. Wanted a whole fish but knew I couldn't eat two. Wish I could have ordered only one. Would have preferred the option of a basic salad rather than cold slaw. Everything came quickly, was hot and good. This is a favorite stop for us. We will be back.
Great food! Went here yesterday food was awesome we did end up waiting almost an hour for our food and got hangry but that was instantly fixed and we would definitely come back! Our server was awesome!
We've been going to Catfish Village for over 20 years now. It's gone through different stages of quality and customer service, but we can say undoubtedly the last several times we've gone have been phenomenal. Our most recent staff meeting took place here and they had our drinks out in a timely fashion, hushpuppies stayed full, and the quality of the food has significantly increased. The server was sweet and very attentive to our needs. The rustic aesthetic gives that Old Country Store feeling. Being given a bit of privacy in their I-20 side room, our meeting was very productive, and we had the freedom and privacy to accomplish everything we needed to.
Waskom Texas off of interstate 20. Cannot miss it. The catfish is caught fresh from the lake in the rear of the wraparound veranda with rocking chairs and benches. Parking aplenty including ♿️ spaces. There is a ramp for wheelchair or walkers. The entering roomy for wheelchair assisted. Items to purchase such as logo hats, t- shirts, gifts to bring home, Texan clothing. Now! The food selections is what one would expect in Waskom, Texas Catfish served hot, fried, corn meal based might need to ask the waiter how you like your seasoned catfish. The staff was pleasant, very friendly and knowledgeable about the historic experience of the restaurant. Bathroom for the women was clean. Yes, separated men bathroom. If you driving down from Dallas or headed towards Shreveport LA stop get that real southern Texas style dining.
The atmosphere is terrific and the food is fabulous. I had the four piece catfish filets which were very good. The only problem is that I ate so much beans and hush puppies from the salad bar that I couldn't eat all my fish. That's okay though because I brought it home to have later. You need to try the tomato relish! It's wonderful. I bought a quart to bring home.
Best catfish I have had in many years. Want to return again. Catfish Village in Waskom Texas next to I-20. Fried whole catfish or fillet.. Hushpuppies, fries, red beans, Cole slaw, tomato relish, sweet tea. They don't serve All You Can Eat any longer. These types of places were all over East Texas in the 1970s and 1980s. Love the actual building and landscaping. Interesting building, wooden walkways, the waterfall and it's setting next to a lake.
Have been wanting to eat here for many years and finally got the chance!! Had the "Cajun" flavored catfish. Was a bit salty for me personally however I'm not fussin because hey everyone's taste is different. Next time bringing the ol lady so she can enjoy it. The door greeters are quite the pair I must say as they just pair of quacks but they were polite😅
We googled up home cooked meal in Waskom Texas and found this place. Google routed us past it, so we had to turn around. We arrived right about 11am which is when they open and there were already about 10 people waiting outside. We were seated quickly and our server was attentive. She delivered a cup of beans and some coleslaw. The beans were tender and tasty. The coleslaw was good, not as sweet as I like it, but still good. Our server then arrived with some of their warm hushpuppies and butter. They were delicious. We ordered the fried catfish and fried chicken breast with French fries. We split the plate and it was ample portions for us. My wife really liked the fried chicken breast. The batter was very tasty and the chicken was moist. I got four catfish fillets and they were hot when arrived at the table. They were pretty mild in flavor. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience and we had a great view of the little private lake behind the restaurant. We would not hesitate to eat here again.
I visited catfish village last year for the first time in years and it was delicious!! The food was hot, tasty and satisfying!! The only thing that I was puzzled about, they give you your sides in small dipping sauce containers. And It was like a teaser🤤. But, I was able to get more when asked. The waitress was really sweet and gracious. Loved my experience!! Would definitely come back!!!! The atmosphere so nostalgic and had a calming country feel. Not to mention that lakeside view breathtaking. It was a pleasure to get away the city and enjoy that southern country hospitality!!!
Everything was absolutely amazing! Had dinner tonight for my dad’s birthday. Our server was so attentive and super sweet! Thank you Kid and Tracy!! Keep up the great work! 💙
Amberlee absolutely made our visit! She kept our drinks filled, checked on us a bunch, and had the best attitude. She was awesome with my kid and even brought extra fries when they were bickering—without us asking. Catfish Village in Waskom reminded me of the one on Highway 155. Great food, even better service!
Just had a wonderful catfish dinner here. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I really liked the way they do the fries (and normally I don't eat fries). The hush puppies, slaw and beans were all good. We ordered some fried green tomatoes and they were excellent. We received great service from Sarah. And I would give this place a big 👍.
Wow! What great friendly service!! The cheesestick appetizer was great for the start of our meal. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection! Try the homemade creamy Italian dressing on your salad…..and don’t forget the desert of fried pies!! Thank you catfish village of Waskom for providing a delicious meal!
UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! And it's a beautiful thing ... I had issues with this restaurant years ago- went from making the 30min drive 2-3 a week to a multi-year hiatus due to changes and the quality falling off - but they are BACK! The people are incredibly friendly and thoughtful. The Catfish was cooked to perfection- tender, flaky fish with that slightly crispy meal coating ... I had the mixed plate AYCE Catfish ½ Reg ½ "Cajun" - don't get excited .. it isn't hot and spicy , just generously seasoned , very delicious- so if you're ordering with the EXPECTATION of them "bringing the heat" , you may be disappointed... the coleslaw is fairly stock - but it has the balance of sweetness and tartness that I love so much - I probably could've requested more, and should have - but the restaurant is very waste conscious and only offers small servings of sides and a few things by request ... they have a colored coded system to the plates and glasses that expedite a guests refills since any passing server knows which drink they're refilling and whether a guest is there expecting refills, like me, on the catfish. I was unable the review the beans and cornbread due to, as many of you know, my onion allergy - for which they took extra precaution. And you have to stay for the fried pie - Strawberry Cheesecake ! Rich and decadent. The lobby has a Cracker Barrel feel; without the controversy... one part country store, one part bougie boutique; with lots of great gifts: Tshirts, jams/jellies, postcards , etc
We enjoyed our October ladies night out here. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our visit! When Nikki the waitress told us to come back and see her, I felt her heart! She was so appreciative of us being there.
What a wonderful surprise!! Grateful atmosphere, pretty pond to look at along with all the cabin lodge decor. your server was terrific. They bring you cold slaw, the best beans ever and hushpuppies before you order. The fried catfish was some of the best I have ever had. If we are ever in the area again we will stop and enjoy.
There was a large party with us and a single server. She did an exceptional job of taking care of each and every one of us. The food was excellent and the prices were reasonable. This was our first time to dine here but it won't be our last.
Yum, yum, yum! Saw this place driving on the way from Dallas to Shreveport. It looked interesting and we are always up for some good catfish. This place didn't disappoint. The catfish was tender and cooked well, the fresh fried okra was awesome and the hush puppies, yum! I don't usually like hush puppies because they are dry or have no flavor. These were delish! My husband had fried oysters and shrimp. He said it was great. The service was great. The nice casual atmosphere and views of the water were enjoyable. Overall, a great experience for a roadside stop!

This place is very large. Great food, shrimp, oysters, catfish, coleslaw, beans, and hushpuppies. A little pricey but good.
This is a great family friendly restaurant with lots of seating, fun decorations, and a good selection of mostly fried foods. If you're on a diet, avoid it - but if you're in for some good home style cooking, this is your place. We had the fried catfish, hush puppies and chicken fried steak. Everything was cooked just right. Definitely a favorite!
Great food family oriented. Great for all. My father is in an electric wheelchair no problems with parking getting in the restaurant or being seated at a table so the handicap are very welcome there as well.
I had the butterfly shrimp platter. Apparently everyone gets the hush puppies, coleslaw and beans if you want them or not. They came with my drink before I ordered. The shrimp had good flavor but were smallish. I got 10 and ate them all. I usually can only eat 4. Thought I might have leftovers like I usually do. Cocktail sauce was good enough but the tartar sauce lacked flavor, needed more onions and relish, but that’s just my opinion. The slaw was rather dry to my liking. The beans were pretty good. Hush puppies were average, nothing special. I would come back but I might just head to Sam’s Southern Eatery to get the bigger shrimp and better sauces.
This is an awesome place on the LA/TX border to stop and eat fried catfish. They serve baked fish as well and have a salad bar. They do have all you can eat catfish. They have a gift shop. They also have super desserts and appetizers. There is a pond you can sit by the window and look out into. There is a deck but no outdoor seating. It is landscaped nicely. Great for large crowds!
Fun place. The shrimp platter was amazing. Catfish/oyster platter was very good. Get the mashed potatoes and white gravy. Dip your catfish in the potatoes for a real treat. Excellent tartar sauce mixed with some hot sauce for a Buffalo wing kind of taste. Catfish on par with the Catfish King. Shrimp was stellar.
My family decided to sit down and eat. The fish fillets were fresh and hot. The beans and fries were room temperature. The waiter did the best he could with the crowd coming in that day. I’ll be back but probably just order to go.
I visited Catfish Village on December 22nd, 2018 while on a road trip to Florida for Christmas. My daughter and I decided to stop and eat here, since we were backed up in very slow moving traffic for hours, due to a storm that had passed through. It was a quaint little restaurant with a small gift shop store. The food and the buffet were pretty decent and the staff were all friendly. I mostly enjoyed the view.
I did enjoy my seafood platter but I kinda wished my beans were hot when they get brought out which is right when you sit down at your table.
We recently visited Catfish Village with a massive group—about 12 tables worth of friends and family—to celebrate a birthday. Coordinating a party that size is no small feat, but the staff handled it impressively well. The Experience * Service: The servers were standout. Despite our group's size, they remained friendly and attentive throughout the entire meal, making sure everyone was taken care of. * Menu: Because of our party size, we worked off a limited menu. While it simplified the ordering process, it still offered plenty of flavor. * Value: One of the best parts of this spot is the cost. The prices are incredibly affordable, especially considering the portion sizes. The Food The catfish itself was seasoned perfectly. One thing to note is that the fish filets are shaped more like tenders than traditional flat filets. However, don't let the shape fool you—the meal is extremely filling, and we all left satisfied. Summary If you’re looking for a budget-friendly spot that can handle a crowd without sacrificing hospitality or flavor, Catfish Village is a great choice. It’s a solid 4-star experience!
First time here figured we would stop cause we like unique places like this. The decor was great, the food wasn't bad my only issue was the fish and shrimp was overcooked but tasted great. But loved the beans, fried mushrooms but the ranch tasted different. One note our waitress seemed like the only one waiting tables she did great considering she was the only one taking orders and bringing out food. Definitely worth a stop....
It has been a while since eating here and we're pleasantly surprised with the improvements in the foods! Now for the decor, outdated, faded, damaged, sparse, etc... The menus are typed, copied, and placed on top of the old, preprinted ones. Finally, the gift shop, would do better as a last chance sale. Items are dusty, dead, broken, expired, need I go on? Ultimately, the service and the tasty food are about all I can say make it worth the gas.
Fish is not farm raised and imported. You may can catch a good day of food but not very likely. Service is not very good either. Having to find the server or refill your own drink isn't good service

Not as good as it was when David Beard was alive but not too bad for catfish. service is lacking but they are short handed.
Too few waiting staff and no urgency to hurry up and food took forever to get! Food was ok 1/2 frozen and 1/2 fresh.

Food is always great. But we went tonight 6/12/25 and our service was horrible. Our waiter had a really bad attitude. We ask for more beans never got them. Ask for so other stuff and it took forever to get it . They were not busy either.
Food was excellent as usual, however, the service was pitiful. We've been eating there for years and it gets worse every time. When I'm eating, I like for EVERYTHING I order to be in front of me, not sporadically appear in 5 min increments
Maybe 2-3 tables of guests here n we arrived about 1:15pm. We waited 30 minutes on our food. Our server, Skylar was super nice but not at attentive. The food wasn’t all that tasty n the ranch dressing tasted soured n the pre made salad was all wilty n the outside scenery was negative today the least. Green algae was in the very little water n no water fall n there was a trash can sitting out in the middle of the yard with plant shavings it, looked like from a palm tree that the top was taken down. We’re use to the scenery being more inviting n pretty. Nothing at all was anything like that. I think will be a very long time if ever we come back. We will probably visit the other one idk when tho. The only nice thing about this place is that our server was nice n all smiles but also in the same note was not at all attentive. We had to wait for some time for things needed n drink refills. N especially with us being her ONLY table was jus unacceptable. She was no where to be seen n also workers standing around talking which made nonsense cuz no business. But maybe preparing for the Friday night rush, no clue. I didn’t take pics of the trash can with all the clippings cuz I was more so focused on the other…trying to find a pretty pic to do a Tik Tok video to be more honest. *Downhill Restaurant* n especially when prices are so high n times we live in just could have been better. 😕
Unique experience. But the only thing that tasted good was the fried items... Like fried green tomatoes and the hush puppies. The rest of the food was not something that I would drive out of my way to eat. And we tried several meal options... As a large group and shared experiences... So this is not just a one taste random post. Also the floor was sticky and the place needed a deep clean in general. My grilled shrimp tasted like soap. Not fresh and not good seasoning.
Overall, it is a great atmosphere. I love the deck around it with the view of the lake. Very scenic. However the food was just ok. I truly enjoyed the oysters and the fish but it was not at all to the level of satisfaction I expected or anticipated. There was an undisclosed upcharge for the baked potato fixings. But otherwise it was a nice outing.
I have a few nick picky things about this Catfish Village but the Food is good and the scenery makes a great date place. The service was effective but not a lot of personality. My whole catfish was not very meaty. Two of them only had enough edible meat on one side. Here are suggestions- get rid of the tacky paper signs everywhere. The size of the beans and coleslaw are a joke (see pictures). Also, when you serve the beans and coleslaw give a plate as well so we have somewhere to place the silverware because the small cup doesn’t hold it and who wants to put the spoon on the table or napkin? Which I decided to put on napkin only to have it tear and I had to pick it off. Also, it would be nice to have the server tell us that if we would like more beans/coleslaw we can. Turn off the TVs if they are going to have the connect to receiver error on. I HATE not having an itemized bill brought to me is insulting. Get with the times. Also there were special menu items that were not told to me and weren’t in menu and I only saw them after I ate while I was paying.
This place is like a laid back and more relaxed Cracker Barrel. Prices are good, so was the food, wait staff and ambiance.

Started eating there when it first opened, several years ago. Back then they had quite a crowd and the food was very good. Over time they slowed down and the quality seemed to drop. They had a change in ownership about that time as well. This was my first time in a long while to go back. The building is very big and very done . Would be nice to see the place make some changes. The prices have naturally increased, but the menu lacks a lot. I hope this will change, it's a shame to have something that nice, that's not full of hungry people.
The waitress was friendly but never offered drink refills. The girl checking out at the front was not at all friendly and barely looked up. I wish I had gotten her name. I was there on July 28 for lunch. Maybe the owners or manager will see this and figure out who she is.
We’ve always enjoyed dining here. It’s been about a year or so since we’ve been here so we decided to have dinner here tonight. We should’ve went to McDonald’s (and we hate McDonalds). The food & service lacked tremendously! It wasn’t busy or crowded so we are unsure why we never received the marinara sauce for our hard & cold cheese sticks (they literally looked like the ones you buy and cook at home), our fish & fries was cold we had to request hot fries, my husband fish tasted like the cooked waste the salt in the batter. My mom ordered chicken fried chicken, she was asked what type gravy however didn’t receive any potatoes (given fries, apparently mashed potatoes are extra, so we ordered her some only to learn they were instant potatoes with no butter or seasoning). The tartar sauce was Kraft. The savings grace was the sweet tea & lemonade which was amazing along with the beans & slaw. Needless to say this was most likely our last visit. I wonder if management has changed, this placed used to be packed and had some really good food! The salad bar is even no longer there. Yup it was a waste of $98 but even though our food and service sucked we still left a tip, it’s the holidays.

The manager was extremely rude. The blackened Catfish was NOT blackened it was grilled. The cheeseburger my son had was nasty. No seasoning, dry, and very chewy. When we asked for the manager, he came to the table with a nasty attitude and threatened to call the police when all we asked was for the bill to be adjusted because my son did not eat his burger and my Catfish was not blackened and was disgusting. I have visited the Bossier location and loved it. However, I will NEVER go back to this Waskom location again!!
The hostess was not friendly coming or going. The blackened catfish was not blackened, just coated with a lot of Tony's. The breading on the butterfly shrimp was soft and mushy. The waitress was very nice and accommodating and got us the table that we wanted when the hostess would not. We won't be going back.
We travel around the country and enjoy finding good restaurants along the way. When we saw this restaurant right down the road from our campground, we were excited to get some good catfish. Boy, were we wrong 😞 First off, it was freezing in this big restaurant, but that's not uncommon these days. Second, when we pulled out our chairs, they were covered in crumbs. Okay, we brushed them off. Then the hushpuppies, beans and coleslaw arrived. The hushpuppies were so hard that we couldn't bite into one, they were literally like rocks. The beans had very little flavor, but the coleslaw was okay. The catfish and fries arrived within 5 minutes, which we thought was amazing...until we realized that the cook must have reheated them. Half of the catfish was so salty that we couldn't eat it at all, the other pieces were chewy and dry. The fries were cold within minutes. Not sure if that was because it was so cold in the restaurant or maybe they didn't dare microwave them longer. So disappointed, really wanted to have a great catfish dinner. Save your money, go somewhere/anywhere else ☹️
5/2/25: We just had lunch there. Wasted money!! 😠 Ordered 2 - 3 pc fried catfish dinners. Waited 25 minutes for what I think was lukewarm re-heated fish of some kind… don’t think it was really catfish. Probably some imported junk from Thailand! No seasoning- not crispy- Tasted like it was breaded in plain flour. The server was sweet. Not her fault. No wonder there were only a handful of people there!!! We will never go back! R. The absolute worse place to eat. Ordered the ribeye steak. Steak was a little over 1/4" thick, overcooked (i ordered medium rare) and had a very odd taste to it. Even steak sauce couldn't help. Baked potatoe was ok, but the salad had some bad lettuce. The service was so so. I will not be going back.
The food was bland and tasteless I ordered the grilled shrimp with loaded baked potato. I tasted my food and the shrimp was burnt. I sub the rice and veggies for loaded baked potato and received the rice and veggies. My sister ordered blackened catfish which came out tasteless, no seasoning and not even blackened. My brother ordered whole catfish and asked for cajun seasoning and when food was received it was just plain cornbread batter. We informed server of issues with food. After a few attempts to rectify the situation with no success, the manager was informed of issues. When the manager walked to the table she walked with aggression as if we were going to be confrontational without evening speaking to us first. The food was not even eaten and we was told it can't be removed since it was cooked but bill can be discounted 50%. We accepted, paid the bill, and left. We will never return, such a bad experience.
Twice, a year and a half apart we have popped into this location to give it a try. Both times we were given a paper children's menu - simply printed on copier paper in black ink no color. The paper menu lists an assortment of options for children meals. Our son decided he wanted the children's burger basket. When we placed the order we were later informed both times (a year apart mind you so we forgot until the dejavu moment occurred and the waitress returned to let us know the kids burgers weren't actually an option) that this was an old menu and they no longer offer children's burger baskets. Then why the heck are you still using the menu? Throw out the old ones and order new ones. The money you spent years ago on the languishing stack of old menus is a loss, accept it and spend money for new menus or "coloring sheets" as you call them. It is false advertising and setting guests up for higher expectations than you are willing to meet. Very unprofessional and reeking of uneducated low standards of East Texas. Fix your child's menu to reflect the abysmal few 3 items you offer children - grilled cheese, fried fish, and popcorn chicken so that families know in advance to set their expectations as low as the number of offerings you have.
Just me 16.99 for fish and shrimp a diet Dr Pepper. Got to the register cashier stated 55 dollars said she added gratuity. Then she tells me 47.00 after taking the gratuity off. Called the manager charger for shrimp that was already in the price. Then I was charged for a second meal I did not even get. Incompetent. Will never go back!!! Two others in my party same meal 26.00 and change. SMH
In regards to the food, the complementary hush puppies good and the beans were decent. As far as service, although the wait staff was nice and attentive, the manager was very ill-mannered. Due to his lack of professional behavior, my family and I chose not to stay. I witnessed him play fighting with one of the female waitresses and speaking rudely to other female patrons. He has so poorly reflected the standard of customer service, we will not be returning.
Food was subpar to have bad customer service. I am not complaining about the waiters but the manager of this establishment is so dang rude I cannot even explain it. I can understand we are a big party to accommodate but for you to be rude the whole time about it. You keep hollering and explaining your policy for what. Even when someone came and tried to sit at our table there where still sits available and you were rude to them saying if we had more it has to be one person who pays. After we got our food the food wasn't even good enough for you to be that dang rude about it. The only thing else I can say is manager please get yourself together please stop being rude you don't know anyone story. My mother just passed away and today was her funeral. We were coming to enjoy your food. To the wait staff thank you for apologizing on his behalf and not treating us any type of way I appreciate that.
Extremely rude experience! The white cashier was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. I was having a conversation with another cashier when she interrupted us in a very rude manner. She insisted that because she ‘took the name on the order,’ she was the only one who could speak to me. Completely unnecessary and made the whole interaction uncomfortable. Terrible customer service!
Not the same food that I use to eat after visiting bass pro or bossier city. Will not be revisiting.no salad bar. No green tomatoes. No onions. Waitress did not ask if we needed refills.brought us a wrong order of fish. Kid size coleslaw your spoon or fork will not go in. Had to hunt down waitress. They were not busy know I know why.
Would not recommend having any event here. My mom booked three month in advance for my sister in laws baby shower, and talked over the phone confirming details about the event twice. Went today to set up at the agreed time, only for them to say they didn't have the reservation. After my mom spent over 20 minutes arguing and showing the email they finally let us set up, which we then had to rush to do. Then during the event the staff kept hovering obviously seeming to rush us to bring the event to an end due to another reservation. All guest payed for their own ticket, and despite that no one was told that 20% gratuity was automatically added, which wouldn't be a big deal if they would of informed everyone. So when we went to checkout they flipped the screen requesting tip, despite already taking one out. So for me and my husband we tipped a extra $13 on top of the almost $10 tip they had already took out, which we wouldn't of done if we knew. I didn't notice till after I looked at my receipt in the car, and my mom's husband did the same thing.Mind you the whole party was less than 20 people.
Taste of fish was not normal. I eat catfish often and the texture of their fish was different. when you break it open it’s not layered like normal. Questionable to me what kind of fish they really are. Not going back.
They barley gave me any fries but others get lots of fries and when I ask for more fries cause I didn't get many the waitress says I don't know why they do that. And don't get me any fries or anything. Mine got a small handful with chicken on top of the fries to hide the small amount of fries but my wife's plate was loaded with fries so I won't eat at this place again. The fish sucks too
Unfortunately this is not the place it used to be. If you’re looking for even half way decent catfish and shrimp, this isn’t even that. I’d recommend a drive-thru before this place- you’ll likely get better food and service and that’s saying a lot. Years ago it was amazing. It’s gone to trash now. Won’t ever be returning
0 stars - NEVER GOING AGAIN! Def not the place it used to be!! The food was horrible, fish disgusting, the fried shrimp was bottom of the barrel tasting and the kids grilled chicken was burnt and the server was not helpful and messed up the order. To top it off, the cashier was rude by hollering at my daughter and three kids thinking they were skipping out on the bill when my husband was handling it!! Will NEVER go again!
Honestly, I'm floored with our experience. Open Bickering and bantering amongst the staff, deep fried mushrooms were soaking wet and cold, catfish had no flavor, tartar sauce was like miracle whip and served out of a squeeze bottle. We asked the waitress for some small plates for our appetizers and she replied that we don't have any clean plates. She then returns with 3 plates for four people and tells us we only have 3 plates. Hush puppies were great. Long John silver has better fish than this place.
