I came here regularly when I lived in Florida and it was on the top of my list of things to do when I came back to visit recently - literally, it was the first thing I did when I got off the plane. The food was as delicious as always and the service was attentive. My favorite has always been the breakfast platter because I like a little of everything - because everything they do here is so good! I also get a biscuit because something about them is just to die for. Love it here!
The empty blue plate was an order of biscuits and gravy that was demolished in approx 2 minutes. I've been waiting to come here for a while and it was so very worth it. The French toast was ~amazing~, delicious brioche bread, the batter was done just right, top 10. The strawberry lemonade was divine and has unlimited refills. My other half had the smoked brisket hash and it was absurd how good it was. The brisket was fall apart tender and deliciously flavored. Kid 1 had a ham and cheese quiche which was really well seasoned, and the puff pastry held up beautifully! Service was impeccable, the decor is really well done, and everyone is just crazy friendly. The prices were pretty decent for the quality. A family of 4 with sides ate for about $50 and the portions were generous without being obscene. If you find yourself in Windermere, or if you're just looking for good breakfast, this is definitely the place to go!
This is a Sunday brunch family favorite. I get breakfast every time. It never disappoints. Great iced coffee here. Service is always amazing.
We have had breakfast and lunch with always wanting to come back to try more. Delicious food and great atmosphere.
We live out of the area but make a point to eat at Dixie Cream Cafe whenever we're in town. It's a family favorite. It's so hard to venture out and try new things when you dream about those diehard favorites for months, but we managed to try a few new things this visit, the fish tacos, fried green tomatoes and sausage gravy and biscuits and they did not disappoint. I still ordered my tried and true, Dixie's Famous Smoked Brisket Hash. Delicious as always!
This is now my new FAVORITE breakfast place in town! I thought I had died and went to heaven when I walked in to the smell of bacon that took me to ascension. The food was soooooo delicious. I had the brisket hash while my wife had the buffalo chicken omelette. I also got an order of sausage gravy that came with huge chunks of sausage for my massive biscuit. We also got a side of french toast and it all was AMAZING!! Kudos to the chef!! #illbeback
Dixie Cream is AMAZING! We held a bridal shower there yesterday. Stephanie was a dream to work with during our planning leading up to the shower. The day of the shower our server, Jessica, was attentive and ensured we had the best service. We had a private area for our group and was able to decorate just before the shower. It was perfect, would highly recommend!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Thank goodness it's not close by or I would go daily. Dixie cream taste like home! Down south delicious goodness home. And the warm smiles and courteous service make it a perfect 10 in my book! Don't miss the passion fruit mimosa. When you get there and there's a wait, stick around. I promise its worth it.
We’ve passed this place many times and finally stopped in. Small, but tidy cafe with outside seating. We were seated fast with prompt service. Ordered the Cobb Salad and a rueben sandwich. The Cobb was huge and delicious. My wife had the rueben and that it was delicious just needed a little more meat. Our waitress was moving quick and efficient. Overall, we like the feel of this place as it’s like First Watch only with mimosa’s. Next time we will get some coffee as I hear it’s outstanding.
I had the Fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict. It was delicious. My husband also had the biscuits and gravy and honestly that is some of the best biscuits and gravy I have had down here in Florida. Super great atmosphere. Love how the staff seems to know each other and works together. The owner was seen on the floor working just as hard as her own staff. I will be coming back here it was amazing.
I had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious . I ordered the omelette with home fries and a biscuit, and every bite was perfect. The omelette was packed with flavor, the potatoes were seasoned just right, and the biscuit was soft and buttery. You can tell everything is made fresh and with a lot of care. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming too. Definitely a new favorite spot for a cozy, satisfying meal. Highly recommend!
Came here for a late breakfast on a Sunday. Small wait, we were seated after 15 minutes. Service was quick and courteous. Food was great, especially the fries! Burger was cooked well. Daughter enjoyed her vanilla battered French toast and son loves his chocolate chip pancakes. Also the prices are great - will definitely be back!
We visited Dixie Cream Café on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. It’s a charming spot with a welcoming atmosphere, both inside and out. We requested to sit outside, and the staff were more than happy to accommodate our group of six—my wife, our four children, and myself. The food was exceptional—easily one of the best meals I’ve had during our vacation in Florida. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. A true hidden gem. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
I came here last week for brunch and to sum up my experience in one word, it was AMAZING! All of the food and drinks were homemade and delicious. First we ordered the beet goes on and kaleing me softy juices and they were so refreshing in this hot Florida weather! The eggs Benedict and bananas foster French toast were both delicious and the portion size was great. The unexpected star of the show was the quiche. It was hot and practically melted in your mouth! The service was also outstanding. All of our food came out in a timely manner and the staff was very friendly. Can’t wait to come back and eat here again!
What a great experience!!! The breakfast was amazing. The staff also. Plenty of parking. Everything well organized and clean. Will come again.
Service was good and the food was delicious. Reasonable prices. The crispy chicken with sausage gravy and grits and a side of potatoes was amazing. Eggs Benedict delicious also. My compliments to the Chef. Party of 2 with drinks $46 and change.
The atmosphere and food were wonderful. I personally enjoyed my Milyway Latte more then most coffee beverages I get at normal coffee locations. The blueberry pancakes were so delicious. Best I've had in a LONG time. I cannot wait to go back and experience more delicious food and interact with the lovely staff again 🥞☕💕
Surprisingly hidden gem in heart of Windmere. Great movie selection. Will have a hard time choosing. Worth going several times to try it all. Won’t go wrong starting with their famous brisket hash!!! Friendly service but too bad they close early like all typical breakfast spots.
What a delightful gem in the heart of the Windermere business district. Almost missed it as the town is fairly tiny and quaint. Lively crowd for a Saturday morning but not too long a wait for a table. Strong coffee, lots of options and some unique takes on breakfast options. Their busicuits are really flaky and tasty, and worst the visit alone. Overall, lovely and cheerful staff and a great place to grab a bite. Casey took care of us so be sure to ask for her!
Nice little cafe in the historic downtown area. Good sized place with some really good food and reasonably (I’d say value) priced. I had a egg & pancake combo with pecan and banana upgrade ($12.50) Also a latte ($4.75). Good flavor and hot! I even received a complimentary regular coffee refill. Service was excellent as well. Definitely coming back.
Kate brought us to our table and was lovely . Easy to order, food was very good. Parking out the back is huge. Definitely will return to eat more delicious food!!
We held a ladies group brunch at Dixie Cream Cafe, which was new to me but not to the locals, who seem to LOVE this place. I can see why. Our food was excellent; our wait staff was friendly and efficient. Although our group was too large to be sat at the same table, and they do not take reservations, we did all get seats and greatly enjoyed the meal. People are standing outside to get in, it’s so popular, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait. And if you do wait, your meal will be worth it. I’m not sure my photos will do everything justice. We had a great time here with great food and you will as well.
This charming little family owned Cafe is located in the center of small town Windermere downtown! We've been eating here for over 10 years and it's about time to write a supportive review for them! This is your ultimate Saturday or Sunday breakfast/brunch spot with a wide range of staples ranging from pancakes to eggs benedicts! My favorite is their salmon benedict but they also have delicious and healthy options such a egg white and spinach omelets! The service has always been very friendly and prompt! Overall one of the best spots to grab a family meal!

Get the fish and chips with a cinnamon roll! The food menu is huge and hit or miss. The wait is usually long especially on the weekends so be prepared with young kids. The service is always amazing and friendly. It does get very loud our grandparents have a hard time hearing inside. Ask to sit outside if you can.
The food is very delicious and large portions. Prices are very cheap especially for the area its in. Even if they raise there prices in the future I would still go because the food is great and the service is great to. The cubban sandwich I got that the library employee recommended to me. Definitely go eat at this place. I am definitely going there again probably Saturday morning.

We come here for breakfast a couple times a year, and eat before browsing through the Farmers Market, which is only 50 yards away. The staff is always friendly, and the place is always immaculately clean. The clocks on the wall are creative works of art and fun to watch. My date had the egg sandwich, sunny-side up, and I went with a create-your-own omelette, with a side of rye toast. All good, although the rye bread needs an upgrade. Will continue to come back when we visit the area.
Food is yummy and well-priced!! Easy to stay around $10-15/per person for a SOLID breakfast. Home fries were extra crispy!! The pancakes were pretty average. The vibes are great, feels homey. Service was quick & staff were so friendly. A great local & long-standing place to check out!
First visit. Recommended by a friend. Nice atmosphere and pleasant service. Cobb Salad was good as well as BLT -- bacon taste was excellent. I didn't care for Brisket Hash; tasteless to me. Awesome biscuit. Coffee could have been better. I will get a specialty coffee next time. There will be a next time. Overall I liked the place. April 2021 - I did return twice in April. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. On one visit the food was perfect. Second visit I was served an overcooked omelette. Server said she also thought it looked overcooked - why bring it to me? Recook was excellent.

I've come to Dixie Cream Cafe a number of times over the years. I've ordered many amazing meals and have some fond/enjoyable memories. My review is not to say that this isn't a worthwhile restaurant to visit, because trust me, it is. I'm reaching out today to share my feelings about a recent experience. My partner and I had Kacey (I apologize if the spelling isn't correct) as our server and our experience was less than enjoyable. She was rude and ultimately passive aggressive when you asked for anything (sauces and lemon slices are all we asked for). This isn't the first time she's had an attitude, but this time was rather impactful. She had asked me in passing how I enjoying my onion rings (pictured above) which came to me as a semi-crunchy mush pile. I had them the week prior and informed her that this didn't happen. I was super polite, said everything was still fine, but there was an air about her response and you can see her huffing and puffing. It ruined the whole dining experience. I decided to keep to myself, continue to say please and thank you, and get out as quick as possible without asking for the manager because she was just rude. Just the week prior we had an amazing server (young lady with glasses whose name I wish I remembered). She was kind, shared her favorite dishes with me, and was super easy going. Employees like that young lady are the heart of the service industry. I truly hope that my review was helpful in any way without being disrespectful to a small business I've enjoyed. Despite feeling disrespected by the unprofessionalism of our server today, I still greatly enjoy the food and atmosphere.
This was one of my favorite places to brunch either with my kids or friends. This last night I brought a friend from out of town. I usually get the famous banana fosters. This time was not the same like usual. The flambé was more like cold bananas tossed in like warm syrup. So I did ask for them to remake it and the waitress didn’t even try to fix it….she said “no it’s gonna come back just like that” and refused to even take it off the table?! Also the request for soft scramble eggs turnt into dry eggs. My friend got the avacado smash; and that barely look like they smashed it? Peeled and thrown on top of the toast more like it? So needless to say IF I go back I won’t be waited on by her but it messed up my desire to even want to go back. And
Our server was nice, cute little local place. However I expected better quality food. The pancakes were hard & thick. Biscuit was dry. The breakfast potatoes nicely cooked but very bland and the omelette wasn’t traditional the quick kind where they throw all of the ingredients in the skin of the eggs. We won’t be back but it’s a worth a try if you have never been.
Been coming here for years. Service is always super friendly and spot on. The food is okay, nothing has ever blown my socks off though. The floors are always sticky everywhere. Location has always been a draw as I feel tucked away from the major bustle of the area.
My parents were waiting on us when we arrived, not sure if her feelings were hurt because she making a second trip for drinks or what but after taking our drink order she waited on several other tables and 15 mins later we had drinks. The slowest service I have ever had for breakfast 1 1/2 hours. We all ordered the sausage gravy with either biscuit or toast (fancy Texas big sliced). Ok, my mom had a waffle and she loved it. While eating I noticed the fork had a very generous curve on it and I felt the back of my neck hurting while I had to arrange my lips to hover above. Maybe this is a French or English fork, either way if I wont eat here again so my two cents is, remember this will be a slow eat and bring your own fork.
Young lady at the front was absolutely charming (Corrine). However, the service was not that great. The food, equally not that great for the price. For example, the coffee served was very strong, and served wirh grounds floating in the cup. The chivken was very bland, but the biscuits were tasty. In addition, the fresh baked pastries were well displayed and taste wonderful. Charming atmosphere of small family owned business, but not designed, or prepared for large crowds.
I’m not just whistlin’ dixie, this place was nice for a low-key brunch. We did expect more “wow” for the elevated diner fare. The Brisket Hash is a specialty, it was good but not worthy of the menu real estate given. All soups are from scratch, which was tasty and grilled cheese was good (hard to mess that up!). My biscuit was fresh, and a highlight.
Dixie Cream is a nice little restaurant in downtown Windermere. The fish and chips had good flavor but were a tad greasy on the plate. You get one piece of cod? Our waitress never asked us how everything was and never offered us refills on our drinks. Instead she was busy with a few other employees coddling over a baby. Repeatably passing our table to see the baby. Pricing was fair and the desserts looked yummy. We will give it another go on our next pass through downtown. They do offer outdoor seating too. Maybe next time we will get properly waited on?
We were passing through the area and decided to have an early lunch at Dixie Cream Cafe. We were able to find a parking spot easily and walked into the Cafe to put our name on the waiting list at around 11am on a weekday. It looked like there were maybe three parties ahead of us waiting for tables, none of them were a party of two. We had spotted a table literally right next to the door inside, across from the coffee bar, immediately upon walking in. Once I realized how loud the normal seating area was, I actually preferred to sit over in this secluded area on the high tables. We asked the hostess if we would be able to sit there and she said yes, if it was still available after she sat everyone ahead of us on the list. No problem, I get it, I used to be a hostess way back when. 20 minutes later the table is still empty, no one was sat there because the parties ahead of us were not parties of two (as I thought) -- and so she sat us at the high table we requested. I'm not sure why she waited to seat us in the exact order of people on her list, when we could have been accommodated without overstepping those who were waiting before us in larger parties. She could have freed up the standing waiting area by just letting us sit down. Anyway, we knew what we wanted to order immediately, and the food came out relatively quickly considering how busy it was. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich with the sauce on the side (I like to dip instead of having things smothered in sauce). The lettuce on the bun was really wilted, like it had been heat burned way before it made it to my table, and the tomato had a large part of the stem in the center, so I took those off. The chicken itself was really bland and heavily depended on the buffalo sauce for any sort of flavor. I don't think the bread crumbs were seasoned and it didn't come with mayo or ranch or any other sauces on the bun or on the side besides normal buffalo sauce. My husband got the BLT with the fried green tomatoes and loved it. The French fries were average skinny fries and were not seasoned/salted or anything spectacular. I'm thinking breakfast is where it is at here at Dixie Cream Cafe. I would come back to try breakfast options, maybe when the weather is cooler so I can sit outside. Because, again, it is really loud inside. Really, really loud.

Nice atmosphere, cute spot. After about 15 minutes of us sitting down, one of the waitresses notices that no one has taken drinks or anything yet so she became our waitress. Amy is the one that ended up waiting our table and she was awesome, but sad our waitress never showed up, especially since so much of the staff was walking back and forth by us. I got the brisket hash and my wife got the bananas foster french toast. The brisket hash was wet with no flavor, with bits of damp potatoes and it came with 2 unseasoned eggs. The French toast was better, but still not that much flavor, even though it looked great when it got to the table. The best part about the our time here is that there was no wait to sit down.
Food and service is good here. But the restaurant is very crowded in Sunday mornings. We waited for more than 1 hour: 30 mins for seats and 30 mins more in seats for foods. If you are hungry and want to have a branch, this is not the right place, at least on Sundays. Local people love gatherings and have social life in this restaurant. If you insist, it’s better to eat something before entering the restaurant. Good luck.
