Debatably the best Haystack Hamburger location. Large indoor area with patio facing a grassy area (thankfully not facing a parking lot). Large burgers with great French fries, a great happy hour on weekdays. Be sure to sign up for the loyalty program. Expect $10-$15 per hamburger (cheaper options for kids). Counter-service, self-seating, casual and relaxed.
We dined at Haystack on a weekend late afternoon when the weather was nice out, so they were packed (as was the entire Hillcrest Village area). The line took about 10 minutes to order, and it was a bit diffficult to find a table after putting our order in. Fortunately, the food didn't take too long to come out. Everything we ordered was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the Haystack Burger and fried Haystack Onions.
Always good. This location is very nice. Lots bigger than the Haystacks on Beltline and 75. There is lots of parking, but watch out during peak hours like a busy Friday night. But then there is parking off to the side you just have to walk a bit further. It’s in the middle of this large outdoor plaza with some other restaurants. Anyway, the food is awesome, as always. Try a burger with the fried egg on top! Most delicious. Their French fries are better than their onion rings. They aren’t “rings” but more like small pieces of onion deep fried. They are good, just not my favorite. L
Great huge hamburgers. We wound up cutting them in half for leftovers tomorrow. One order of fries is enough for two people. I had a Hefeweizen and my husband tried the Nacho Beer. We loved them both. No room for dessert, but they all looked good. The service people did an outstanding job taking care of us. Thank you.
Right from the get-go, the vibes were welcoming, and it just felt like a place you'd want to hang out at. The staff? Super friendly and on their game, making us feel right at home. But let's talk about the main event - the food. It was top-notch! The burgers are just the right kind of juicy, and they've got this unique flavor that sets them apart from your typical burger joint. Plus, the sides aren't just an afterthought; they're really something special. Whether you're a burger aficionado or just in the mood for some solid comfort food, Haystack Burgers delivers on all fronts. Great food, great service, and a great time. Definitely a spot I'll be hitting up again and again.
Really loved our visit. First time and it did not disappoint. We even engaged with the Mgr on duty and she was great. Get a half and half side so you can try the onion rings and the fried both. Banana pudding was exquisite. No way is out of a can.
Great burger joint. Fast, clean and nice overall. We had the Haystack and the avocado ranch burgers with fries and sweet potato chips, all excellent. Definitely coming back.
Almost gave this place 3 stars, but the second employee saved it First time here. Ordered the haystack without bbq sauce, fries and a glass of wine ($32 w/tip). When the first employee poured the glass of wine, it might’ve been 3 1/2 -4 ounces of wine. I feel like she knew it was a shy pour when handing it to me, so I asked, what’s your standard pour? She replied 7oz. I didn’t want to ask for more, so I just took the lousy pour. A few mins later I watched her pour a very heavy glass for the next guest :( The burger and fries were tasty and you can tell the ingredients are top notch. Way too salty for my taste, but still delicious I orders a second glass of wine from the second employee and got my full pour. The same employee delivered my food and brought me napkins and silverware since I didn’t know where to get it. She was very friendly

Haystack has always been a reliable burger joint—good food, good service, and solid value. Unfortunately, tonight missed the mark. The burgers didn’t taste quite as good as usual and seemed noticeably smaller, which made the price harder to justify. Still a decent burger overall, but the value that once set Haystack apart no longer seems to be there. Sadly, this will likely be my last visit.
Enjoyed our haystack burgers tonight for dinner. Even though we were hungry, it was way too much food. Love to share the half & half, but next time it will need to be a kids meal or one burger for two. With the cooler temps, it was nice having the windows open. Clean, friendly and great food. Can't wait for my next visit.
Prefer the Richardson location next to Alamo Theatre and Frisco on Main. This new place is huge. Been there twice and there were only a total of six patrons. I was there for their Haymaker. Always good.
Love the burgers! You can customize and order it EXACTLY how you enjoy it! Like subway but for burgers lol Their Chipotle ketchup/mayo is really good and they use fabric napkins for a homey feel. It's usually quiet when I go and easy to get to via 75 and Beltline!

Their cheesesticks are decadent. That's the strongest draw for me tbh. The burgers are also very good, with a smokey flavor, with a proper ground beef patty and a dependable and soft bun. Never been there I get it delivered. But the cheesesticks are almost evily good, it's almost too much to eat 5 with the burger but I would, or split some of them.

Delicious burgers and sandwiches! Everything was fresh and flavorful, and they even offer gluten-free buns, which is a huge plus if you have allergies. The location is perfect, with a large outdoor park area for kids to run and play—all on clean artificial grass that’s great for all kinds of sports. The customer service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming for families. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back!
Good burgers and chicken sandwich here . Staffs are great and have outside seatings also . Burgers was cooked like the way I requested and it came out nice and juicy . Chicken was surprisingly crispy and good .
I had the Taos Chicken Sandwich (grilled but you can request fried) and side of fries. The Taos sandwich had poblano peppers, pepper jack cheese, guacamole and pico de gallo. You can also get a burger with these same toppings. It was good but the chicken could have been thicker. The portion of fries was generous and they were on point! Especially when dipped in the spicy ketchup.
The Haystack Burger was delicious! Great size, the meat was seasoned, and the fries were hot and fresh. This was my first time here, but I’ll update my review when I try more of the menu. So far so good 😌

🍔 Haystack Burger – Veggie Vibes & Parkside Perks 🌳 Tried out Haystack Burger with high hopes and hungry hearts! We ordered the vegetarian burger—a mix of beans and veggies, topped with cheese and lettuce. Let’s just say… it wasn’t exactly a flavor explosion 💥. Compared to the veggie burger at Shake Shack (aka Shik Shak in our house 😄), this one felt a little shy on the wow factor. We also gave their “special fries” a shot 🍟—but the only thing special was how quickly they disappeared… not because they were amazing, just because we were hungry 😅. Ordered a plain veggie burger for my daughter with just cheese—no complaints from her, but she did drown it in ketchup like it was a rescue mission 🚨🍅. Gotta love that kid logic! Now, the real MVP of this spot? It’s right across from a park 🛝🌞. So while the grown-ups are busy judging bean patties, the kids are living their best lives. That alone earns it a few gold stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️. Can’t speak for the beef burgers since we stick to halal, but maybe that’s where the magic hides 🧙♂️🍖. Final Verdict: Meh on the veggie, yay for the location. Would I go back? Maybe… if the kids drag me there after a park run 😄.
Not sure where to start this review, so I will start with their sister location on 75 and Beltline...I haven't eaten there in a number of years, and I only ever ate there by myself, but I remember the burgers were great and the stuffed jalapeno poppers were better. Ok, snap to today. The Arapahoe location is relatively new to the area. The whole Arapahoe & Meadow Creek corner has been completely revitalized over the past few years with more to come. I have enjoyed more than several Haymakers (alcoholic drink) on warm nights since they opened at this location. It is a nice, kid friendly area to chill for a bit. Tonight was the first time I actually ordered off of the food menu. I was definitely expecting the same quality dining experience that I have enjoyed at the other location. Let's start with the positives. Friendly service, warm atmosphere, and very accessible. I ordered a Haymaker and it was dyed green for St. Paddy's day, and it lived up to what I am used to. My wife ordered the Hibiscus Lemonade (alcohol drink), and she really liked it. We started with a gluten free appetizer of chips, queso, and salsa. The chips were stale but edible. The queso and salsa were meh. Both items tasted like what you might expect from grocery store aisle Tostitos jars that were microwaved right after we ordered. The garlic Parmesan fries were hot and very tasty. Burgers were exactly what we ordered and they were just fine. Meat was not juicy and basically tepid at best. Burgers were not bad, but certainly not what I was expecting from past experience or for what we paid for them. Again, the gluten free bun, according to my Celiac daughter, was not up to par in comparison to other local burger joints. Their beer menu is pretty decent, and I have tried most of them. I don't remember if they do the jalapeno stuffed poppers at this location, but I will definitely look for them the next time I visit. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience, but way too expensive for the quality of food. In the future, I will probably stick with a cold drink on the patio. I would say one thumb up and one thumb down.

Pickles were paper thin. Mostly breading. The burger wasn’t dry or overcooked but tasted burnt. Idk if they didn’t clean the grill before cooking the new burger idk but It had a bad char flavor.
We love the location and park. What a great addition to the neighborhood. The unfortunate part is the cost, it is getting out of control. Plus the menu with pricing is not event correct! Been that way for months. Poor management, must be enjoying the bate and switch.
Not enough food for the money. So I walked in here and was greeted immediately and the staff member was knowledgeable about the products they offered so I asked if they could make me my favorite cheeseburger. I requested a bacon, portobello mushroom and Swiss cheese burger with grilled onions and barbecue sauce. I was informed that they could and they even told me it would be a half pound Patty, this turned out to be a quarter pound Patty that was very dry. The mushrooms were overcooked, there were no onions or barbecue sauce on it, and they charged me over $15... oh yeah it didn't even come with fries or a drink. Disappointed is putting it mildly. You can buy a better burger at Whataburger that comes with fries and a drink for less money.
It’s a good place for teenagers to hangout and have fun. I tried the avocado sauce hamburger and ate only half. It barely had any avocado sauce, and a couple of slices of avocado on the bottom bun. The patties had more pink than anything, and felt chewy.
We visited this location on Friday night and were fairly disappointed with our experience. The food is good and was fine, but the restaurant was generally dirty and loud. Trying to find a clean table to sit at for two people proved difficult and otherwise kids kept running in and out of the doors and parents were generally too drunk to notice or care.
We’ve been coming to Haystack Burgers & Barley for about 7 years and it’s been one of our go-to spots—especially because it’s easy with kids and has usually been consistent. Over the last ~9 months, though, the experience has slipped in a few meaningful ways. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Nashville Hot Chicken Salad were standout items for us, and they’ve been removed. I understand menu consolidation, but those were legitimately excellent—and we’ve heard other regulars mention missing them too. The tap list used to be a big part of why we came (typically8–12 beers on draft). On our most recent visit it was down to 5. The Cabernet that used to be bottled now seems to be served from a keg, and the taste is noticeably different than it used to be. We genuinely want to keep supporting Haystack, but these changes have pushed it out of our normal rotation—and I’d hesitate to bring family from out of town right now, which is a bummer because it used to be an easy recommendation. We have friends who also attend the restaurant and they have noticed a similar dining experience recently. Actionable ask for management: please consider (1) bringing back the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and Salad, (2) restoring a fuller rotation of beer taps, and (3) returning to bottled Cabernet (or at least offering a bottled Cab option again). If any of this is temporary, I’d love to hear that—because we’d like to keep coming back.
