Heard about Shanghai Taste on a foodie page while looking for chocolate dumplings and it didn’t disappoint!! Just as good as din tai fung! Loved the pork and shrimp soup dumplings, sweet and sour pork ribs, chicken fried noodles and the chocolate dumplings were the best part. Will be back!

The food, service, and atmosphere were great. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The server was amazing. She was a one person team and even though it was busy, she still managed to do a great job going from table to table.

Everything we got here was SOLID (check out the pics). Our favorite would probably be the noodles combo’d with the duck. Both had so much flavor and went so well together. The XLB and spicy wontons were good as well! Will definitely be back to try the other things on the menu. So glad to have something like this close by! I would say almost a nearby simple DTF dupe haha

Very delicious dumpling place! I highly recommend the crab roe juicy dumplings they were so good. The chocolate xiao long baos are also so delicious. This is the only place I have found in DFW that has them. Definitely worth a visit

This was our first time at Shanghai Taste and we were so impressed! Everything we ordered was delicious, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive the entire time. The flavors were amazing and the food came out fresh. The chocolate wontons were the perfect ending to our dinner, so good! Definitely make sure you leave room for them. We’ll absolutely be back!

Very nice elegant Shanghai style restaurant with quick and great service. Menu is excellent and food is so delicious. One of the best Xiao long bao in Dallas. Both traditional and crab yolk juicy dumplings are delicious. Another great thing is they open since 10 in the morning on weekdays and 9 on weekends. Highly recommended.

You know when you walk into a restaurant with limited seating and full of the same ethnic group eating the food, that you have good quality. I was very pleased with the simple menu which enhanced the experience to be more traditional. I have never had dumplings before ,infact this was my first mom and pop non-takeout Chinese restaurant. It was absolutely delightful , the flavor of the shrimp dumpling 🥟 was something that will not leave my palate.

We loved the food! Very authentic and fresh! So delicious, friendly atmosphere and staff. Will definitely come back! We got the steamed chinese broccoli, scallion noodles, soy duck and spicy wontons, everything was soooooo yummm!!!

Yummy breakfast and desserts. Awesome customer service. All food are delicious. We really love the desserts. Very fresh and crunchy outside for fried rice cake with a little sweet from brown sugar.

Shanghai Taste truly impressed me. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were perfection — thin, delicate skin that didn’t break, and packed with rich, flavorful broth. You can tell they’re made fresh with care. The pan-fried buns (sheng jian bao) were equally amazing — perfectly golden and crispy on the bottom, soft and juicy inside, with that hint of sesame and scallion on top that made every bite satisfying. The service was friendly and efficient, and everything came out piping hot. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and comfortable — exactly the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. If you love authentic Shanghai-style dumplings, this place is a must-visit!

Looks can be deceiving - it’s a narrow, galley-style restaurant with no frills but the food was insanely delicious. We had the fried soup dumplings, hand pulled Shanghai-style noodles with chicken, sweet and sour pork ribs, and wonton soup. It was SO good, and my girls loved watching the employees hand-make dumplings in the open window. We will be back!

Loved the sweet pork ribs!! They were so good 10/10. We got the steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, we loved them! 10/10. Also, the Shanghai pork wonton soup was really good, it had a good flavor! The fried chicken was good as well! Loved the service! Shanghui who attended us was really nice and attentive. Really recommend this place!

Shanghai Taste is absolutely amazing! The food is packed with flavor, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The service was fast, and the staff made the experience even better with their excellent customer service. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to everyone I know. Out of all the delicious dishes, the fried rice is my absolute favorite—it’s a must-try!

So gooood! I loved it so much that I came back two days in a row. The pork soup dumplings and scallion pancake were outstanding, and the chocolate dumpling with banana filling was also nice. Both times I visited, it wasn’t crowded, so I was seated right away. Service was quick and friendly, and I think this will be my new go-to spot for soup dumplings.

The food was so good- can tell it’s real Shanghainese food. On the pricier side but kinda worth it since there’s no many places that have good Shanghainese food around dfw. Got the scallion noodles, pan fried dumplings, soup dumplings, green onion pancakes, and fried rice cakes. The only disappointing one was the green onion pancake. Lacked flavor and could’ve definitely used more green onion but the crispiness was on point.
