We went to May Dragon for The Valentine’s Day Dinner. The food is so yummy; two of us ordered 5 dishes. The service is exceptional. May Dragon has become our favorite Chinese restaurant in DFW. We strongly recommend May Dragon to our friends and will definitely visit more often.
The service here is very engaging and very friendly. The food has very subtle flavors to it. It does not overpower your sense of taste, but makes the contrasting flavor differences very appealing. The five flavor shrimp was accompanied with snow peas, green bell peppers and in an interesting twist a candied walnut. It was not very spicy hot, but the flavors blended very well. The hot and sour soup did not burn your mouth as you ate so the flavors of the bamboo mushroom egg, and other ingredients were easier to taste. The wonton soup had a light broth and light wonton wrapper floating inside. A very pleasing and light soup to begin the meal. The appetizer barbecue ribs would’ve been plenty for a full meal in itself. The barbecue sauce used on the ribs has a nice sweet tanginess to it, but don’t expect fall off the bone meat. The style is to cook the flavor into the meat, not just cover it on top. We had so much to eat we were too full to sample the desserts. Hot sauce can be ordered if you like your food spicier then the house level of heat. I highly recommend May Dragon as a place to go for Chinese food you remember from your youth.
Love May Dragon. Food service and atmosphere are excellent. Joe Chow and this wife Chi Chi are so nice and that's why I have been dining here for 22 years..
This is our favorite Chinese restaurant! The atmosphere is very old school and intimate. Being the week of Christmas, we had the pleasure of one of the owners, Chi Chi taking care of us tonight. She is absolutely lovely! My go-to is Beef and Brocolli. I asked for a recommendation and she suggested the Hunan Beef that has broccoli plus carrots and onions . It was SO good! It came with a choice of soup. The egg drop soup was so flavorful! The best I've ever had. My husband ordered the May Dragon Combination. I will definitely order it next time! We brought a guest from out of town. He had the Mongolian Beef and was so impressed he wants to come back. We highly recommend eating here!
When we lived in Dallas, May Dragon was our favorite restaurant! A few years ago, we moved to Colorado where we can’t find anything close to the great food at May Dragon. We get back to Dallas a few times a year and our first stop is always for Chinese food. Even though we moved, the staff still recognizes us and remembers our order! Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff.
My family has been coming to May Dragon for years, and it’s always been one of our favorite spots. Their delicious food and the warm hospitality from this wonderful family-owned restaurant keep us coming back time and time again. This year, with all of our family out of town, we decided to dine in for our Thanksgiving dinner and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The service was incredibly quick, and the food was just as amazing as ever. We finished our meal with their hot tea, and even that was delicious! May Dragon truly deserves more business. We were so impressed and so grateful for such a lovely Thanksgiving experience. Highly recommend!
Let me start by saying that this place is beautiful!!!!!! The husband and wife that run this place are the nicest people I've met in a long time!! The customer service was amazing. I love talking sports with other women and the wife did not disappoint. We ordered the orange chicken plate, Mongolian beef and chicken egg foo young. Everything was great. The food was piping hot when we got home. I'm not a huge fan of Chinese food but I'm now a fan of Msy Dragon!!!!
May Dragon is a hidden gem that offers an exceptional Chinese dining experience from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, you're warmly welcomed by a courteous and attentive staff that makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and comfortable, with tasteful decor and a calm, inviting ambiance. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a casual lunch or a special dinner out. Now to the highlight — the food. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented
When I think of good quality Chinese food I think of May Dragon. Every week I need to, put into my schedule, a visit to May Dragon for lunch or diner. Always excellent service and great food. Have so many favorite dishes to choose from. Was reminiscing that for over 10 years plus I have enjoyed dining at May Dragon. Especially fun is the Dragon Dance during the Lunar New Year. A must experience.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved the food at May Dragon Chinese Restaurant! 🥢🍜 The flavors were fresh, authentic, and full of taste. The shrimp and vegetables were cooked to perfection, the fried rice was delicious, and the spring roll added the perfect crunch. 🍤🥦🥕 The portions are generous, presentation is amazing, and the staff is super friendly. This place is definitely my go-to spot for Chinese food in town. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and a welcoming vibe!
Service was amazing, the server Chris was supper nice and got our stuff quick. Made sure we liked everything also. Food was really good (we got spring rolls, lo mein with beef, sweet and sour chicken) super flavorful. Owner was very polite check up on us and talked to us. And the host was very sweet. The restaurant had an amazing vibe. Would come again.
We decided to visit this place due to a recommendation from our friend Eric Olschwanger. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious and served very quickly after ordering, the waiter was engaging and funny, and the atmosphere was very nice. We'll definitely be back when we are in the area!
I was treated like a Queen coming and going. I have trouble walking and the servers setup door stops, so I could walk out easily. My sister treated us to dinner via Grubhub and the Egg Foo Young is as good as I remembered. This time we had yummy dumplings and Hot and Sour Soup and something with lots of nuts.
Went on Christmas day. Understaffed. If a resturant plans to be open, then it needs to staff for the amount of seating it uses. May Dragon's customers on Christmas day would have enjoyed a better experience if only 30% of capacity was used. Resturant needs a refresh of paint, etc.
We’ve been visiting for years, but had lunch there today for a late mother’s day. We all had lunch specials that came with a spring roll and steamed or fried rice. They weren’t very busy as we got there kind of late for lunch so the food and service were quick. I had the orange beef which was good as always. The fried rice was ok, but I did like the cucumbers that were served with it. We also ordered egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, crab rangoon, general tsaos chicken, orange chicken and sesame chicken. Everyone left full. It was a bit pricey for lunch - more than I remembered, but they had roy rogers and shirley temple on the drink menu, which made me happy and just made the meal a bit better. :)
I returned to May Dragon in Addison for the first time in about 10 years, and it felt very different from what I remembered. The atmosphere and wait staff is far more casual now, almost to a fault. The overhead lighting was visibly dirty, to the point where I honestly felt like a piece of dirt covered lint could fall into my plate. It was distracting and off-putting. The music felt out of place for the setting (i’m a Barbie Girl) and didn’t add to the experience. As for the food, the entrées were over-sauced (General Tso‘s Chicken) and unpleasant. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. Overall, it wasn’t the polished, comfortable place I remembered from years ago, which was disappointing.
$21.65 for this. Taste like nothing. I didn’t ask for white sauce. Steamed rice container isn’t even full. Shrimp and broccoli normally comes with brown sauce. Giving them 5 stars for service because the lady that took my order was nice. Food quality and taste not good. Won’t be going back.
Online order, food was bland doesn’t look appetizing the only good thing was the fried dumplings not worth what you pay for. The rice very muchy, my kungPao chicken look like cat food, we only ate the sesame chicken and that was refried and hard.
The front desk lady was really nice at pickup but the food was so weird looking that we threw it away in the garbage when we got home. I’ve never in my life opened a to go box and immediately questioned whether it was going to make us sick. It looked like it was sitting out overnight and then given to us the next day by accident.
Very disappointed in the food and service we experienced Christmas Day. Absolutely the WORST orange chicken ever had and this is my favorite!! Five ordered this entree and all came out in a brown looking sauce and had NO orange flavor. PF Chang frozen orange chicken is much better than what they served us. Fried rice gummy and no flavor. Lemon chicken and won ton soup were good. Service was horrible...server seemed high. Took our order and brought our food and was then never to be seen yet they added a 20% tip when we had no service. Setting was nice but would hesitate to go back based on the food and lack of service received.
I ordered the Egg Foo Young and steamed dumplings—0/10. The sauce was completely wrong—overly tangy and sweet. Traditional Egg Foo Young should have the meat and vegetables cooked into the egg patty with a dark, savory gravy served separately. Instead, I got two small soggy, mushy patties drowning in what tasted like orange chicken sauce. The steamed dumplings weren’t any better—bland, rubbery, and clearly overcooked. They desperately needed sauce just to be edible. I paid $30 for this: two soggy patties and six disappointing dumplings. Completely overpriced and not worth it.
